Authentic Chinese takeaway, my go to choice in Leicester!

Undeniably the best Chinese food on the planet (including china itself) their service was immaculate, the relaxing atmosphere and the food. Now the food… Was so good I could’ve cried, there’s a reason i keep coming back. China city is the best there is

Been using this takeaway for a long time and after spending over £70 tonight and requesting prawn crackers with the order for my birthday none given. Might seem trivial but it’s the little things like this that count! Can’t even get through on the phone 📞 poor service

We visited and ordered 1x Singapore fried rice and 1x Pork Chow Mein. The premises seemed clean. Had some seats for waiting customers inside. Street parking was available directly outside the row of shops. Shop seemed quite popular. Food was tasty, but a little bit greasy for my liking.

Lovely food we enjoyed the lemon chicken. The chicken curry was great, very strong and spiced which was rather nice. We will be returning.

Great Chinese takeaway, Its the best Chinese takeaway that we have tried in Leicester. The sweet and sour chicket balls are great as is all the chow mrin and rice dushes we have tried. Always get amazing quality food.

It's probably the worst food I've had in a long while , a curry that was far too rich , the rice was all stuck in lumps ....won't be going back.

Google says it opens at 4pm. Turned up today at 16;10 the place was closed and not answering calls. other than that the food is good.

Always eat here beautiful food. Prices are on par with everywhere else. Very friendly staff. Only thing is I wish you could pay on card over phone as I do have to go elsewhere if I don't have cash.

Lovely takeaway. Would recommend. Sometimes hard to get through to order mind, but prob cos it's so nice.

Foods great did collection,forgot I was waiting on arrival said 10mins, 28 mins later got food.

Ordered from here for the first time. Premises are clean and tidy and the staff were really friendly. Reasonable prices for the food in comparison to other places. Unfortunately a lot of the dishes ordered were really greasy making them unpleasant. Beef fried rice was really dry and over cooked. Egg fried rice were nice and chips well cooked. Prawn toast was too oily for my liking and was very gooey and a odd texture to what usually used to. Perhaps it was an off day and maybe I’ll try these again in the future and give a second chance.

Was told food would be delivered in an hour! Hour and half later no apology! Paid in cash driver just walked away no change offered 🤔🤔food was ok to be fair but when I order chicken AND !!! cashew nuts I expect more than 5 ! Cashew nuts!! And when I pick a piece of chicken up to eat I don’t expect the WHOLE meal to come up with it VERY GELATINOUS 🤢

We order regularly and always have a lovely meal. Delivery oft4n quicker than quoted times, but it can be busy as it is good so order in time and you won't be disappointed.

Have always loved and raved about here. Asked for bean curd in black bean sauce to not be spicy this time and they made it doubly spicet and couldn't eat it. Not good

The food has always been good but they struggle to meet delivery times, we’ve used China City for years but again tonight a 1 hour delivery promise turned into 2.5 hours with no food, we called to cancel then the driver arrived . My motto , don’t over commit and under deliver . Set the expectation and meet it .

China City, without question the best Chinese food in LFE if not Leicester! Really friendly service, beautiful and consistent food. Quick delivery. Having looked for years for a great Chinese we’re so happy to have China City on our doorstep! You won’t be disappointed.

Just had a chow mein and mushroom foo yung so salty ate it because I was so hungry usually really nice

Food from day before full off fat and rubbish taste

I am not usually a chinese food lover, but have always enjoyed it from here where when my son visits, always tasty and fresh

Food is great and it shows with how busy they are but they need more staff on a weekend to cope with the demand. Best tip I can give is on a weekend call an hour and a half before you want the food.

Be aware that this establishment does not open until 23:00 as advertised. Save yourself the drive because doors were locked at 22:30. Bit of a piss take to advertise a time that is not correct so you drive down to find the door locked 30 min before advertised.

New find ..been twice now dishes are rammed with very very nice food and im fussy !

Good chicken chow main, prawn toast best ever

Always use China City but tonight have waited nearly 2 hours and on contacting them it has not even left for delivery! Absolutely appalling to wait this long and to blame it on the rain is a very poor excuse!!! Cancelled the food on principle 😡

Always so impressed with this Chinese. Amazing quality and decent price too. The chilli salted chips are one of my favourites.

Best chinese in leicester. I've moved out of the area to Glenfield, and then Aylestone and still go here for food. Decent wait times, drivers are friendly and food is consistently lovely

Ordered for collection a couple of weeks ago, waited in store took about 50 minutes, 1 dish was nice other was average. Ordered for take out tonight .....said it would be an hour, still waiting 2 hours later and they could not care less when we’ve called to chase up. Its so late now that i’m Just fixing myself a toastie and going to bed. Unfortunately you’ve lost yourself some local customers

Excellent Chinese food. Friendly staff and great delivery service. Always eat here and I don’t bother with any others now. The salt and chilli chips and the chow mein are gorgeous.

This is my local Chinese Takeaway and I've never been disappointed yet. I've lived in this locality for 30 years and have seen this establishment change hands a few times (and I think the name may have changed too) but China City has always been a reliable source of Takeaway food. The current owners have been here for a few years now and they are always polite, courteous and helpful. The prices are keen, the menu is wide-ranging and varied, tending toward Cantonese these days, the food is prepared quickly, and the quality is always second to none. You could compare the quality of food from China City with any number of other take-out establishments or eat-in restaurants anywhere in the country (believe me - I have), and for me, this place would always come out top. It's a small pity that they can't offer a full sit-down restaurant facility because I feel sure that people would travel some fair distance for food of this quality, once the word got around. Everywhere I've travelled I like to enjoy a good quality Chinese meal, but I'm always glad to get back home and visit my 'old faithful' China City. Can't get enough of it 🙂

our favourite chinese - serving us decent food reliably for 6+ years

I had trouble getting through on a Saturday evening - they were engaged three times and when I finally did get through I got a bad line and they hung up. Worked next time thank goodness. A good sign - lots of people ringing up. There were lots of us ordering and it came to about £80 for the group. But that's not bad when you think there were at least a dozen of us. We put all the bowls on the table and had a bit of everything, and it was all good. The yum suk starter was a find - don't miss it!

Avoid. Very poor service. Explanation - Ordered for collection at 2020. Was told 20 minutes. Arrived at 2040 and evident that they had forgot my order. At 21:10 (50 minutes after I placed the order and 30 minutes after paying) I asked where it was. I was informed "2 seconds 2 seconds" before she disappeared into the kitchen. I then asked whether they had just started cooking it and was told yes. I walked out. Material facts 1) I had ordered a chow mein and prawn crackers (nothing complicated) 2) it wasn't busy. Furthermore, my previous visit to this place resulted in a lenghty wait and resulted in me witnessing complaints over the counter and via telephone. The complaints were rudely answered.

Most exstreamly poor service! Rude from the start ,paying over 19 pound. Exspect good service.Received food hour late.Cold when received dew to cheap labour.Work hard for my money .
