Our order had a complete value of almost £100,00 the service was appalling, and when we collected the food we were kept waiting for a further 20 minutes after getting back home, we found out two dishes were missing and the duck was absolutely appalling. Avoid at all cost. Why hasn’t Cromer got a decent Chinese Takeaway/restaurant.

Walked in to collect to find my order had already been given to somebody else. What I don’t understand is how can someone have ordered with the same name but there not be 2 orders? Told I could wait and they would cook it for me but already waited an hour. Will not be ordering again.

After a long day I decided to have a. take away. It was a simple chicken curry and egg fried rice, easy? No. In the past its always been good but tonight was as tasty as a glass of warm water. I used to go in every week but now ? Probably not. A total waste of £8.oo plus. I'm not short of money but it does annoy me when given a meal that's tasteless, bland, and with the title of curry and it be no more spicy than the plastic bag it was presented in. I know that there is no such thing as a curry in china but through my traveling around the world I have experienced many wonderful dishes. However this????? It's about as far out as going to New Deli and asking for fish and chips! It was awful. No more!!!

Ordered early for collection (to avoid previous experience of waiting 30 mins much to drivers annoyance). huge order in front which caused a 20 min wait in shop, only evident when order was passed over in huge box. As someone else mentioned maybe they do not start your order until you are actually in the shop and state your name which once known helps. Give it a try yum! 😉

Great food and excellent value for money. The food was lovely and hot and cooked to order and my order was taken correctly over the phone.

A real cross section of the menu for four people. Our order was a little ‘old school’ Chinese takeaway but we found it all really tasty. We were two locals and two frequent visitors and we all agreed we’d definitely use China City again. It was Cash Only. Don’t know if it always is but be aware.

Small takeaway with a large menu (that always makes me hesitate) but we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. We ordered a large selection of food and everything was good. The only negative was that even if you order in advance by phone, they start cooking it when you turn up and pay. This is understandable as they only take cash and there would be no guarantee for them that orders will be paid for, but they should give a warning of the approximate time it will take to cook.

Stopped on our way to our apartment to collect takeaway, order placed by phone. Food was ready for collection when we arrived. Hot and tasty although not much in the way of meat in the two dishes mostly vegetable filler, Singapore rice noodles hmmm not much in the way of heat by tasty, altogether we enjoyed our meals but must say the price is very expensive and that's saying something as we live in London! We would pay around £27.00 for three people in London and that will include free prawn crackers and mini spring rolls, in Overstrand it was £25.00 for two of us and cost £4.00 just for prawn crackers and a curry sauce which was small. Saying that will deffo use again!

Having just had a meal for one from China City, with in 1/2 hour it left me a very upset tummy, never again. Be careful

Just picked this place off the Internet as being close to our holiday cottage at Overstrand. Really lovely meal of china city special rice,mushrooms and curry. Wish we lived nearer

This is a very handy takeaway, being only a short distance from where we are staying. We both had Singapore Chow Mein which was nicely cooked and quite tasty. It lacked a bit of the heat that we are used to with that particular dish. Portion size was less than some but perfectly adequate and the price was very reasonable.

Half hour wait in shop whilst she takes more orders despite me pre ordering 40 minutes before I arrived.

Ordered the seat meal for 3, it easily feed 4 of us, we did as for substitutions to have vegetarian options and these were substituted well, Chinese food is always a communal activity and we really enjoyed sharing this meal and the food, the wait was quite long but it was worth it :)

Kung Po chicken & cashew had not one cashew nut in it .... even though we asked Flavour was bland and compared to other takeaways was expensive!! Will not be going again

great takeaway the food was very good very tasty with good portions all at a very reasonable price you can put in an order over the phone.

Went there after recommendations from friends but did not live up to expectations. We ordered the set menu for two but asked if we could have exchange the chicken chop suey with a chicken chow mein. We were assured that was fine. Got home with our meal to find we had the chop suey we said we didn’t want and there were no mini spring rolls. Didn’t get what we paid for and what we did get was mediocre. Won’t be revisiting any time soon

Ordered a set menu asked for chow main instead of chop suey that was not changed, didn’t get the spring rolls they were forgotten, beef was like rubber, this place was recommended by friends so was very disappointed wish I had gone to the chip shop next door as have used that before and was great.

This takeaway was local to where we were staying and we have no complaints, Plenty of choices on the menu, not over priced, food was tasty and good portion sizes.

Fast, friendly service. The food was excellent and plenty in each serving. Parking was a bit tricky but that might just be the time of day. Well worth a visit though.

This is everything that is bad about Chinese takeaway food. Old tasting cooking oil that hasn't been changed for weeks, rancid tasting bean-shoots, slimy, dubious, 'chicken', everything they served was greasy, bland, and tasteless. Even the prawn crackers made you sad... so ... sad... This is Chinese food cooked by someone who hates their job. There is no care, no love, no attention to detail. Just vile, rotten, old tasting, slop that congeals within a few minutes and got chucked straight in the bin.I really can't tell you just how bad this was. There are no half decent Chinese takeaways in Cromer. They are all shockers. Lamentable... inexcusable...very, very poor...

Ordered a Chinese from here whilst in Cromer. Good standard of food. Your usual standard menu but all food ordered was of a good standard. Can highly recommend the massive vegetarian spring roll! Shame they do not do delivery

Good basic Chinese. Very nice. Very friendly. Fairly fast service. Always fresh. On street parking but usual not a problem.

Nothing fancy just a standard Chinese takeaway. We like the meat actually tastes like when you order and not processed. The only annoying thing for us is that they don't accept card, this take away is no where near a cash machine either. The other annoying thing is that they don't deliver!

Friends and I ordered a take away this evening and what we got tasted like it was about 4 or 5 days old, reheated multiple times and just generally unpleasant. Will not be going here again.

Simply the best Chinese T/A in Cromer. If your order right they use very fresh broccoli, mange tout, pepper, carrot etc that all others struggle with. Also their menu read much better than others too. Unique. Slightly out of town but thems the breaks!

Had the meal for one. Absolutely fabulous and amazing value. Sweet and sour chicken balls, chicken chop suey, special fried rice and mini spring rolls all for £8.90. Will definitely be visiting again.

Visited for family of four. Great menu with plenty to choose from. The portion sizes were the worst I've ever seen and the lemon chicken was dry as old Boots. Never again.

Very nice food and always get a big bag of free prawn crackers. Recommend the chicken satay, best going! Friendly staff and very prompt with preparation of the food! Highly recommend this Chinese :-)

This is just perfect Chinese food ,it's fresh and clean . The food is excellent best Chinese food we have had for years .

Just down the road from our holiday apartment we needed an easy option as we were all very tired from a lovely day out in the glorious sunshine on the coastline of Norfolk. We are real foodies and travel to places to enjoy the local cuisine and would normally avoid a takeaway and all costs. However we were very surprised at the quality of this takeaway. It was freshly cooked, quality meats and vegetables and well flavoured. We'd given up on our local takeaways in our home town due to the poor quality.Would recommend this even if your not a great takeaway fan.

Después de leer las críticas que yo estaba buscando una agradable comida china pero fue una decepción. El chico que nos llevó orden apenas hablaba inglés, he ordenado pato salcita satay suave y yo era taaan decepcionado cuando me abrieron las urnas en hotel y encontrar algún plato completamente diferente. Además, nos dieron main Chow de pollo y era demasiado seco. No sé si no es tan mala elección de restaurantes en esta pequeña ciudad, pero éste es seguro no llevar comida china.

Nos alojamos en Cromer con amigos para un cumpleaños especial, así que decidimos hacer una comida para llevar en el sábado por la noche. Siendo incapaces de llegar a través del teléfono, dos de nosotros visitamos el lugar. El servicio era rápido y mientras estábamos allí el teléfono estaba sonando continuamente. Teníamos el menú fijo para 5-6 además una porción extra de patatas fritas (algunas personas no resistió). La comida era más que adecuada para 8 (8). con algunos más. Era cálido y sabroso. Definitivamente lo volvería a usar.

Best Chinese in Cromer, slightly out of the town centre so will need to drive there. Freshly cooked with all fresh ingredients. Great flavours really tasty. Good portion sizes, large container of rice as described on menu. Will visit here again.

Situated just out of the town centre so had to drive. Well worth the extra effort. The kitchen is open so could watch the cooking process. Really excellent food. Good portions, well prepared and expertly cooked. One of the best Chinese meals I've had. Well done!

My wife and I had a takeaway from here last night. We ordered by phone and picked it up 20 minutes later. It was excellent and I can't fault it. The meal for one was excellent value and I would recommend it to anyone.Great little takeaway!

Best Chinese Take Away I have come across. Since I discovered it I use none other. All cooked fresh, piping hot in the containers and plenty of it. Reasonable prices for the quality of food.

We went to this takeaway and had the set menu for 2 people and it was fabulous. It was all very tasty and traditional ingredients we will certainly be going back there before our holiday ends, the only advice I can give is telephone your order before going as with it being all the real ingredients it can take longer to cook but that is not the problem, I cannot wait to go back.

The food was very nice, not greasy and tastes fresh, can strongly recommend the duck pan cakes and you get free prawn crackers.

First time staying in Cromer and living in London am used to food deliveries. I was surprised that no one in Cromer delivers yet. I went for the closest Chinese restaurant otherwise whatever I bought would be cold before I walked the mile to get it back in the rain. The crispy aromatic duck was every bit as good as every other duck I've had (amazing really that there never seems to be any difference in flavour or texture). We also had the chicken chow mein was also great.

Read the reviews for China Town and it all sounded good. Placed a telephone order which we collected 45 mins later! The food was overcooked and everything was bland and tasteless. One good point - the sweet and sour sauce was good with the prawn crackers. All in all a very disappointing meal and will not being going back.

Found this place by accident and so glad we did. Grabbed a menu and decided to try it the next night. Phones order through and went to collect with 15 mins. Food was fab and the curry is highly recommended as one of the best we have ever had!!! Will return again when we are in the area.

This takeaway was brought back to life by the couple who have sadly just left, however I have now been twice since they moved on and its still the best in town! The menu is slightly different to other chinese restaurants with some dishes having a fried egg on top! They will also alter a dish for you if you ask ie I always ask for fresh chilli to be put into by dishes. I can recommend the Happy Family dish as its my favourite! Just out of town centre in the Suffield estate and worth the extra few mins to get there. Ps dont order prawn crackers as you get them free everytime you order!

The food was piping hot and tasted fresh, it was also well priced. We now use this on a regular basis, once we found where it was! If you are in Cromer, it is worth going out of town to this Chinese, good service and freshly cooked food. The menu is varied and includes many dishes we don't usually see at the other Chinese's around here. A good find! I just wish they delivered!

For a small takeaway China City is amazing. I phoned after we'd eaten to say how good the food was, I've only ever done that once before. You might have a wait if you don't phone your order in advance but believe me it's worth it!!! First Class, thank you x

Whilst camping around the corner we came across China City as it was next door to the chip shop... so we decided to give it a go, I searched for feedback but struggled, so took a gamble and it paid off.The food was just lovely, we had to wait a while but it was worth it. We had, Speical Fried Rice, Chicken Curry, Sweet & Sour Chicken and a couple of extra dishes so all the norm really.If you're in the area try it.

This is by far the best Chinese in Cromer, I've been using this since the new guys have taken over, and they are always happy to add ingredients to a dish that you want, like extra chilli, and the quality of the food and ingredients is to a high standard.

Had two take aways whilst on a recent holiday.First night, took a trip and ordered on site - a little slow, but it was busy.Second visit, rang before hand and food ready on time and very hot.Could not fault the quality of the food or in fact the price as think comparable.Only down side is that it's cash payment only, so don't go along thinking you can pay by card!!
