Quite possibly the best Chinese I've ever had. Better than my local and I say that lightly

Staff were extremely friendly. I had king prawns with stir fried veg and egg fried rice and it was absolutely delicious. I would say that the large chips whilst a perfect portion for us might be a bit small for someone else, so keep that in mind if you’re feeding a few people. Otherwise, would definitely recommend and will be going back!

We have been ordering our Chinese from China capital for years, food and service consistently great. Can't fault them. Salt and chilli chicken, Hong Kong dishes. Malaysian curry is all fab 👌

I have lived round the corner for China Capital on Ashton Road, Bedminster, for 20 years and this is my local Chinese takeaway, I've been coming here as long as I can remember and it is consistently good, it's the best Chinese Takeway I have found in Bristol, their Chinese curry (lovely tasty sauce - the best I've had) and their Thai curry and Jungle curry are excellent, great soups, and their king prawns are always fat and juicy. Reading reviews on complaints regarding duck fat, well duck is fatty and that is what makes is so very very tasty!! I wouldn't order it if the fat was removed, my son and I fight over it. And the staff are super friendly. Great place where they put love into, and care about their food and customers.

The last few times the food has not been delicious, chips not cooked and the prawns overcooked, the egg fried rice dry and tough , really am gutted as this use to be my favourite takeaway, this has happened a few times now lately, is there a new cook ?? It’s not taste at all

I’m always hesitant at trying a new Chinese but they absolutely did not disappoint. Super speedy delivery, food was hot, flavourful and in big portions. Can’t wait to order again :)

Everything tastes like fish even though we didn’t order any fish. Every dish has the same orange layer of some oil. Wasn’t properly fried and was very bland, colourless, tasteless..won’t order again

Just had a great Chinese order special Chow mein, crispy chilli beef, a bag of chips, turn up well cooked beautiful flavours and for the time they said it would thank you great birthday dinner

Absolutely delicious! 10/10! Still hot when I got it home, rice was fluffy, all of the flavours were banging, couldn’t fault it. Will definitely go here whenever I get a Chinese takeaway in the future.

The worst food - used to be nice but now everything has a layer of orange oil across the top. The egg fried rice was a congealed slimey lump. I didn’t eat any of my order because it looked like food poisoning

Delivery was 2.5 hours when originally advised as 50Mins. Food delivered to wrong address. Owner apologised but would offer no more than £10 refund despite accepting the error but he still wanted to make a profit on the food hence his justification for not refunding a little bit more. Evening was severely affected due to their error but they would not listen to the complaint. Very poor customer service.

Haven't lived in Bristol for 3 years yet randomly started getting spam texts from this restaurant. Not even sure I've ever been here as I always lived in clifton. Why does this take away think it is OK to illegally store peoples personal information. I'm fuming. Either delete my personal information or change your phone number (which I will find) because I'll make sure I am the only calls you take

I'm sorry to see some of the negative reviews here as we have always had an excellent experience with China Capital. We have used them for years (we did some Bristol-wide testing and decided this was the best Chinese takeaway!) and their food is consistently delicious (especially their Malaysian satay sauce - heaven!). We order fairly early most Fridays and it arrives within 45 minutes, with complementary prawn crackers, and the delivery team is always friendly and helpful. We've never had a bad dish from here and the portion sizes are generous, would 100% recommend! (Dishes we personally enjoy the best include the Malaysian satay sauce, chicken balls, veggie spring rolls and salt and chilli chicken, to which we normally add 1-2 extras.)

After arriving late kind lady unlock the door and prepared two dishes for me, which one of them was chicken curry. I’m so glad I didn’t listen to the negative reviews because it was one of the best ones that I’ve had in the area. Also the lady was very kind and polite. We’ve been trying to find a Chinese that’s good for a while as we used to go over to Ginger Spice which now is just got awful. We will be back again soon and I’m looking forward to it.

Ordered a red Thai curry for delivery. The beef may as well been leather cut up as it was so tough! Vegetables such as peeper, ginger and mushrooms looked like they was cut by hand or the “leathered beef.” Standard was very poor. Rice was good though and food was warm.

Worst Chinese takeaway I’ve ever had. Completely tasteless dishes and were swimming in oil. The ribs had strips of soggy fat on them. Sweet and sour chicken was very chewy. Definitely wasn’t cooked fresh. So bad we couldn’t eat the beef in mushroom or ribs. Don’t go here.

I've only tried the Thai green curry so far, and my partner had the Thai coconut curry, but hands down this is one of my favourite Asian food takeaways because of that

Today I ordered food from China Capital in Filton and the food was very unsatisfactory. The rice was sticky and tasted weird, the chicken curry also and the king Prawns in the chow mein were undercooked. When I called in to explain the customer service was atrocious, the guy behind the phone put the phone down on me rudely in the middle of my explanation and was completely defensive and would not allow me to complete my sentences when clearly explaining the matter of the food situation, showing zero customer service skills. I was very disappointed with experience and will not be supporting this business ever again.

The special ho fun and the monks veg. There's so much toppings on the ho fun you can barely find the noodles :) Maybe not a 5* in the grand scheme of things, but they deserve better than the rating they have at the time of writing (3.5)

Their fried chicken has absolutely no right being this good. It's amazing. Maybe the best I've ever had. The kimchi and spicy mayo it comes with were great too. Highly recommend for fried chicken 🍗

Awful service, dishonest retailer. Food didn't arrive, at first they acknowledged they made a mistake and invited me to get a refund via Deliveroo and then they lied to Deliveroo saying they did deliver the food. Dishonest business.

Tried the fried chicken !! Wow really good and tasty with fantastic side dip great value for boneless thighs and strips , huge portion. Salt and pepper ribs were great value too with plenty of meat not overdone. Now I can’t move from the sofa

Tried these for the first time….. and it will be the last, ordered chips (like cardboard and hard), deep fried shredded beef (sauce not nice) and a duck Thai red curry (98% fat than duck) but the special rice was….. ok. Not worth the money at all, wouldn’t recommend to my worse enemy, must not eaten. Not ordering again from them….. ta da

I feel the pain of the people who have waited 2 hrs for their food - this has happened to me in the past. I did not order for ages as I was so annoyed. However, it has definitely improved. Still love their food. Best malay satay curry, ever. Honey chicken is yummy. Beef curry fab - not had bad food from them. I do order much earlier now to avoid any disappointment in the delay. Also, order direct from their website as they give you a discount for future orders. Now, I'm hungry for their food, again...

Food 30 minutes late, not told about this until we called, not offered any money off for this or even an apology, food was soggy and bland and there was a huge piece of PLASTIC in my boyfriends food! He choked on this and I had to perform the Heimlich manoeuvre to remove it! Will be taking to court unless we receive a refund as we are NOT IMPRESSED, would never recommend this Chinese to anyone

The best curry sauce I've ever tasted in my life.

This is my favourite Chinese, I always a get garlic and spring onion dish with egg fried rice. I suffer from many digestive issues so the only take away I can have, however also know that it's fresh and cooked how it should be. Would recommend. The ribs are also great.

Really tasty takeaway, feel good food and great service. Some dishes better than others. We loved the HK Sweet and Sour Chicken, mushroom chow mein and mixed starters. Would love an extended description of some dishes 😂 Will order again!

FANTASTIC food. They also do very nice Thai food as well. BUT... Their prices have gone through the roof since the pandemic. Theyre busier than ever it seems and put prices up due to the pancemic, but I cant justify buying their food now, £19 for a main and side for a chinese is getting too rich for me. Lost (losing?) a loyal customer.

Visiting Bristol from Dorset, decided to do an online delivered takeaway, glad we decided on this takeaway as food was simply delicious, delived on time, hot and very well prepared and presented, will most definitely have again. A big 10/10 from us. Well done China Capital

Fantastic food and excellent service. We ordered online and it was so easy- great choice on the menu and the staff are such lovely people. Gorgeous udon noodles and a huge portion, easily enough for 2 and the mixed starter was great value and perfect for sharing. The sesame prawn toast was absolutely incredible, the nicest we’ve ever tasted. Most of what we ordered was clearly made from scratch and you can really tell- fantastic food, highly recommend 5*

Food is lovely have it couple times week

2 hours 15 minutes for food, called three times after the hour mark to be told it’s on the way will only be a couple of minutes

The staff were really lovely when ordering and collecting. The food was good quality, however, the peking duck was fatty/uncrispy and the sweet and sour chicken was soggy. I recommend the curry sauce. Altogether, I think that the food was overpriced.

Food finally turned up 2 hours and 20 minutes after we placed order, the delivery driver took 45 minutes to get to from leaving the restaurant- I was told food stays hot for an hour from leaving the restaurant but we need to put it in the microwave so I wasnt impressed

Regular customers. Ordered at 745pm. Website said 50 minutes to wait, but confirmation said 95 mins. No prob as it would still have been 920pm. Had to ring up at 955pm as nothing. Eventually turned up around 1015pm which was not acceptable. The food was lukewarm at best so had to reheat in microwave which wasn't ideal. Food itself was good, but far too late delivery and should have had more heat in it. Puts me off ordering again. Seems to be going downhill tbh

Where to start. Arrived 30 mins late, taking us to a grand total of a 110 min wait the time (a blessing in disguise). The duck was totally dry and flavourless. The sweet and sour chicken was appalling and the spring rolls smelt and looked like a corpse.

Sweet and sour veg was colourless and tasteless... Poor version of what is normally a colourful dish.

Left me waiting in the cold to pick up my order. 45 minutes standing out here when they messaged me to say the food was on the way. Called the restaurant and they didn’t even want to compensate me for that error. Can’t possibly recommend a company that doesn’t treat its customers right!

They contacted me to say my food was on its way. The drive is only 5 minutes from my property. I voluntarily go out to meet them as it abit tricky to access my apartment. They left me waiting 45 minutes in the bitter cold (-1 degrees) as the food wasn’t even ready! When I contacted them they offered a half asked apology and no form of compensation for there poor communication. Can’t possibly recommend a company that treats there customers like this. Also the food was a 2/5 at the most!

Don't normally do reviews but I'm a bit ashamed it's taken me this long to do a much needed one here. Discovered this absolute gem about a year ago since then my girlfriend and I feel let down if we don't manage to have it every week. We are both vegetarians so we can't speak for the meat dishes but have ordered all days of the week (apart from Wednesday when they are sadly closed) and every single time without fail is have been bloody spot on. Veg is always fresh and crunchy, our sauces and rich and which without the gelatinous slop you can sometimes find. The tofu is firm and the quality consistent. People complaining about service and delivery can get a grip. It's an asian takeaway for gods sake. You just lie there on the sofa balancing tinnies on your gunt watching TV until it arrives. Keep it up China Capital. Oh and did I mention my girlfriend grew up in Vietnam. Yeah that's right, I'm pulling that card

The best Chinese takeaway in Bristol! I absolutely love the food at China Capital and would recommend it to anyone, in fact I regularly tell everyone I know to go there. Every dish I have ordered tastes freshly made and delicious. I wish I could eat there every weekend but I don't think my waistline could take it. Honestly really rate them, thanks for the great food!

Absolutely apauling customer service. Extremely low wait time.Waited around 2 hours and then had to speak to rude unhelpful lady! Told me I should order somewhere closer to my address.... My address is 10 mins from the restaurant!!

Mmmm Thai Jungle curry special, salt and chilli tofu and vegetable fried rice! Always delicious and usually ready to collect in about 15 minutes. They do delivery, but I prefer to pick it up. If you order direct from their website you also get loyalty credits to spend off your next order.

I've just pulled a small CLUMP of hair out of my food which I was about to eat. Frikkin disgusting. How does this even get in there?! I understand one strand but a clump? It's definitely not mine because my hair is green! Shame as the food was actually really tasty - please sort your hygiene out. Gross. Wear hair nets, be cleaner, whatever you gotta do..

Lovely food we had four curries couple of special fried rice chili beef and a few starters all for £42. Food hot and delivery fantastic. All five of us had plenty to eat and i had a bit left to put in the fridge for a lunch warm up for work. Will defo make this my number one choice from now on. Well done chef.

Ordered two different tofu dishes, with egg fried rice. Both tofu dishes were so bland, in tasteless watery sauce, one was supposed to have been stir fried (which usually makes it nice and crispy) yet they were both the same like tasteless sponges. Egg fried rice was just pure grains of rice, no ribbons of cooked egg etc like you usually get. All for the price of £20 - rip off for the quality.

We have ordered twice from China Capital and have stated on both occasions that we have night workers at the property and to call on arrival, on both occasions the delivery driver ignored instruction and banged on the windows waking the night workers specifically. - The food quality has been superb shame its been let down elsewhere

In these crazy times I understand being 2 hours late with a delivery, especially on a Friday night - No points deducted there. But the main issues were that we'd ordered all vegetarian dishes and we received a soup with all kinds of meat and fish in it (we double checked the order) They also didn't have an open phoneline (again, no points deducted there since there were probably a lot of demands), but when it was free they didn't answer it and hung up. The second star taken was for the fact that they confirmed with Just Eat that they'd delivered our food over half an hour before they did and didn't produce any feedback when requested, so for all intents and purposes it looked like they'd stolen my money and weren't responding, which sent everything into a panic. To break down the timeline: Ordered at 6:26 Restaurant confirmed and promised delivery by 7:35 at 7:35 the Restaurant shifts delivery time to 7:55 at 8:20 the Restaurant confirms that the food has been delivered (it hasn't and the restaurant won't take calls) at 9:30 the delivery driver finally calls to tell us our food is on the way. In the end the food was okay - except for my vegetarian hot and sour soup being full of meat and fish.

My partner and I changed from Passion Wok because we thought it had really gone downhill and I'm so grateful we did! Everytime we've ordered food from here it is hot, delicious and the delivery drivers are always friendly and smiley. Cannot recommend enough - I love changing up dishes to try something new and I haven't been disappointed once. LOVE LOVE LOVE! Thank you so much☺️☺️

Parking and traffic's could be a bit pain when a football match is on!

Will never order from China Capital again. Ordered my food at 17.25 and was given a 18.15 delivery time. At 18.30 still no food but just eat said my food had been delivered? And I had notifications it was being prepared and on its way. I specially left a note to say I’m working a nightshift at the hospital tonight so delivery time is important. I would not have ordered if I would have known I’d be messed around like this. I had to prompt to say my food never arrived and now the delivery time is 19.05. An hour and 40 delivery time?! It probably would’ve been quicker if they had gone to China to collect and the delivery charge was 2 pounds. Disgusting. Will never order again.

Great food but seem to be incapable of delivering on time. Ridiculously late delivery, no phone call to advice how late the food was going to be, no offer of any money off etc. as an apology. This has happened the past few times that we have ordered with them. We will never order with them again.

Currently the best Chinese takeaway in south Bristol in my opinion. It can take an hour to turn up when it’s busy, but don’t let that put you off - food is always freshly cooked and piping hot when it arrives. Spot on when you’re in the mood for it.

Someone needs to explain the concept of customer service to these people. Definitely avoid internet orders. Shame, because the food is quite good.

They dont how to cokk chinese food, but do know how to argue with customers. I bought Genral Tso Chicken and it was not as expected or as it is expected anywhere - they argue it was there version, a tasteless waste of my money. Apparently all images on google and wikipedia are wrong and there tasteless mess which arrived at my door is right! You go ffigure! ps i just looked down the older revews and see other people moaning about same dish ages ago!! China Capital spoiling your dining expeince FOREVER!

Compré Genral Tso Chicken y no fue como se esperaba o como se esperaba en ninguna parte, argumentan que era una versión, un desperdicio sin sabor de mi dinero. ¡Aparentemente todas las imágenes en google y wikipedia están mal y no hay ningún desorden que llegue a mi puerta! ¡Vas a la figura!

Solo había pedido una cosa y no había gambas en mi arroz frito especial, pero desafortunadamente unos 16 de ellos se escondieron en mi comida.La comida estaba bien, pero no estoy seguro si volvería después de prawngate!
