Chicken Village in Kirklees

Gave me cold chips and acts like I'm lying when I return seconds later to complain, just go to kfc instead, careless cooks here

Chicken was cooked perfectly fresh fries nice service brilliant

@zayn umar U must be bored or have a lot of time on your hand to write a review like this you could have gone on YouTube and searched how to cook grill chicken and cooked it your self! But other than that Ivtaken time out to review these guys because they doing an excellent job! 100 times better than the old owner. Old owner or new owner the place is fantastic if not even better than the old owner

I used to frequently go to chicken village often in 2016 & 2017. I was a regular and always enjoyed the food. I went today in 2024. And oh my gosh , the whole place needs to be shut down. I’m sorry to say but the heydays for chicken village Huddersfield are OVER. Food: Terrible! I went in and asked for a grilled chicken meal, the Indian worker lady said “we don’t do grilled food anymore”. I was shocked. I used to always get the 1/2 chicken back in 2016 & 2017 … not anymore. Ordered a peri grilled burger too but it wasn’t nice. Pathetic excuse for a burger. Buns were cold and not toasted. The chicken wasn’t cooked piping hot. It was just warm… not nice . Service: Not good service. The rotating sauces were all empty and “run out” and the remaining sauce bottles on the counter were half empty, greasy and not cleaned. I don’t know where the old boss has gone but it’s not the same… Atmosphere: The tables weren’t cleaned and were filthy… The restaurant was FREEZING cold . Seats were not comfortable. I won’t be coming here ever again. Better to close shop and let another business start up…

Food not tasty overcooked fries and small burgers

Newly renovated serving delicious fried chicken. Friendly staff. Clean toilet facilities.

Ordered chicken burger meal. The bun had become rotten. It was impossible to chew the burger. The food was also cold. Never gonna recommend to anyone. Bad food .

This place can’t have been cleaned in the last 12 months! Everything is dirty and sticky from the customers side of the till, I dread to wander what behind the till looks like. Everything is sticky from the tables to the the sauce bottles! The ordered a mountain burger and the burger fillet was cold and the hash brown was hard like it was made yesterday… Won’t touch it with a 10ft pole!

Decor is a little dated but can't fault the chicken burger I ordered as it was perfect much better than KFC and half the price too!

Ordered a fish burger but sent veggie instead. We called them up to complain but the staff member lied to say that we had ordered a veg burger and offered no solution. Poor customer service. Not recommended at all

Welcome to Huddersfield. This is one of my favourite place to eat for an addordable food as a student. I used to buying chicken with rice, but for today I got chicken burger with fries. Overall, it tastes nice and delicious.

The owner and the other guy think its okay to be rude. "SKOOZ MEE" hahah. Prices are high the place looks like my bathroom when it's not been cleaned. Penchodey

Shame after all these years it's my last the chicken smelt gone off bleach won't be returning yet the workers tried to argue to say it's not and it's all the same, shame it ruined a family day out.

Tasty wings and reasonable price. Nice sauce too.

One of the best place to eat in Huddersfield.

Would give zero stars if possible. They have posters on the walls as a 'menu' and when I tried to order something from the poster I was told "it's too old, deal no more" seriously?

Food is nice but sometimes the place is not clean (table and chairs).

The place is absolutely filthy especially the toilets tables havnt had a wipe down since god knows when and then there's the upstairs and the toilets if u value your I would strongly advise you to avoid this place until it has atleast had a good clean

Disgusting food i can't believe I even stopped there.

Good food, but the place looks very unhygienic, tables are not cleaned, floor is dirty, upstairs looks like it’s just been left for weeks. This place could do with a good make over and clean up

I regret coming here. The food was average but edible, but the service was shockingly bad. I had to wait 20 minutes for some baked beans to go with my chicken. And the Donuts were stale. The kitchen was caked with dirt, clearly visable all over the equipment. I really don't think they have a cleaning rota, or if they do it consists of only a wet wipe rub down and the occaisional lazy swirl of a mop

Insaneeee chicken, need to deliver

Service was really fine, staff is quite friendly and jolly, food tastes good and if you are a slow eater believe me food will remain nice even if you get involved in a long chit chat. staff was happy to get me a portion as appropriate for me as I am conscious of food wastage. chilli sauce tastes fantastic.

I have been to every restaurant in Huddersfield and none of them come close to this place, my forth year in Huddersfield and its the place to go. Food quality excellent. Food in plates no plastic rubbish. Excellent customer service. Only negatives

Food quality and taste inc service far exceeds expectations. Pleasantly surprised,very good value for money. My fave is the grilled peri peri burger and the rice are one I have not seen on a takeaway menu anywhere. You can tell customer satisfaction is at a high priority. They have won a gold award for healthy food and 5 star rating for food hygiene. Dishes and cutlery are not plastic which is the case in takeaways. New modern chairs and seating makes it a comfortable experience to eat in. Highly recommended.

I love eating out so today I decided to try peri peri chicken with rice from here as I heard to much about this restaurant from my friends.ordered half peri peri chicken with rice,fries,salad & drink for only under a fiver that was first shock!!!! I was expecting to have my meal in plastic container or somthing but was shocked (2nd shock)to see my meal in clean white plate with v clean knife & fork well presented in a tray as you can see in picture.my 3rd shock was when i started eating it, that chicken was so tender & juicy well cooked & actually tasted better than nandos, there was plenty of (free)sauces but I like the garlic the most. Staff was well trained, friendly & well organised.That meal made my day.I would recommend this to every one....

This place is great, love the food but decor could be better. the perfect place for a burger when on lunch from uni as it is very close by
