Chicken King in Dover

Chicken king has become very hitt and miss more so miss lately, always forget items and then when ring up to query it it sounds like the man on the phone has had the crappiest day and would rather not be there, when the food is good it can be better than kfc the chips can be super crispy, but when the food is bad it comes cold and has made me sick twice in the past (clearly hasn't put me off though, which says a lot more about me)

So tonight we'd decided to have a takeaway from Chicken King in south street, placed our order and waited. 20 minutes past what I was told for delivery it arrived. Opened it and and chicken was cold, small pieces of Piri piri chicken and missing items. Called them to sort it out and their response was they're just small pieces. I said to them l've done over £1000 of orders with them and the past 5-6 orders it's had something missing and they've been called about it. I get that people are busy when in a takeaway but when you repeatedly miss things off the same people's order it's ridiculous.

Ordered a chicken king was told one hour for delivery which it turned up in the time stated,order was wrong and cold will not be returning sent back and refunded.

So my first order for a quite a while and food tasted undercooked and driver that delivered was very rude

The food is atrocious, cold and poor quality. It's been a long time I have received an order from them that was cooked fresh. Delivery times is always over an hour which is unacceptable, they surely can't be that busy with such cold & poor quality food. The price for delivery and 'processing' fee is extortion too. The only upside is that the website is fairly easy to navigate which is a shame because I remember when they first opened and the food was great, not anymore it seems...

I always go in the store to order my food and not had a single problem! Friendly staff, great chicken!

Food arrived stone cold.chips undercooked and flaccid. That’s soggy to the man in the shop who was confused by the word cold! Did try to phone to discuss the issue as like to give a business the chance to rectify matters before posting a review. Waste of time.

We ordered waffles and milkshakes for delivery. They took ages to come. My milkshake was melted and my waffle was cold and stodgy. I threw the whole order way, total waste of money.

I have ordered from here a few times and I can say the food is good, hot when delivered and on latest occassion a drink had been forgotten but they were very quick at bringing it back out to me. Loving the chilli duat on the frys, and the milkshakes are pretty good .Will use again!

Always good, always fresh! I was in hospital all day and got home late on Sunday, I made an order as they were closing and they still filled my order and delivered it. The driver did get lost but they eventually made it to my house after I dropped a pin.

They use to be really good but now it's just a 50/50 chance. You rather get a bad meal or an okay meal.

Every time we order, which is becoming few and far between, there is ALWAYS something missing from our order and when we ring to get it sorted the person on the phone is rude and very unhelpful and won’t rectify the problem. So not only is it poor quality food and service, they have no problem stealing from people. The food always arrives in a poor state as well and it is a complete mess.

Delivery times are ridiculous. Always says 1hr 15mins for delivery but is always longer!

Amazing portion sizes recommend 12 pcs boneless bucket it's massive can do 4-5,ppl

Hi everyone please do not order from this company as me and my partner became very sick and we had worms from eating chicken and please get hygiene people in 😡😡😡

My friend and I ordered from here on the 8th of February (yesterday) and our chicken was under cooked. It has given us food poisoning we did email to let them know including photos but we had no response so i am writing a review. Previous orders was perfectly fine about a year ago but they have seemed to go down hill so I wouldn’t recommend going there.

Just had collection order and they gave away a few extra bits for us to try . Delicious juicy steaming hot chicken along with freshly made coleslaw and order to cook chips .

Burgers dry no salad child portion off chips disgusting food the whole lot cold should not be allowed to cater.

It's not KFC but on good days it can be better

Great food and reasonably priced. Probably will be my usual takeaway from now on . Delivery arrived on time and it was pipping hot .

Food is not amazing, just ok and the delivery takes forever. It took them 90min and then they also forgot to bring my drink...

This place used to be my favourite, but lately I have been severely disappointed. The food turns up cold, and bent up. I shall not be ordering front them again! Do not waste your money..

Just ordered a takeaway was 30 mins late so waited a hour and a half. Food cold and to. Top me off didn't receive all our order still cost £28 bloody disgusting as thay still took our cash for food we didn't get phone them no answer I would never use this takeaway again and will be on the phone tomorrow as u carnt get hold of them terrible way to treat customers

Ordered on just eat spent £24 on two burgers and a small chips with a Pepsi thinking that the burgers would be meals as they was expensive (they was not meals just a small plain chicken burger) , came 10 minutes late, the food was cold, the portion sizes was small and they also forgot the Pepsi. I called up as soon as it was delivered and I’m still waiting an hour later for a bottle of Pepsi 🙄 absolute joke so disappointed

Very good. Food was very hot & very tasty & the chips are delicious & crispy. Chicken was as good as the well known brand if not better.

Prices have gone up again, even left old prices on the screens then when I questioned the price of my order he gave me a menu where the prices were higher! Food wasn't cooked long enough and 2nd time it's made me ill, should have learnt the last time.

Ordered food at 17:10, asked for delivery for 19:30 and paid the money . No food at 19: 45, phoned, told it would be another 20 minutes at least!!!!! as only one driver....why accept orders if you cannot deliver.....shame, as food good but service for delivery dismissal. And won't order again for delivery. Better to be upfront at the point of order so people can choose alternative

Lovely staff and food was ready within minutes and piping hot.

Fantastic food would be 5 stars if they offered delivery to Sandwich. We prefer this to KFC. Willing to pay a delivery fee of upto £6 😞

Ordered from here a number of times, always been great food, delivery 45- 60 mins, but anywhere with good food is a longer wait, well worth the wait.

Placed order waited two hours and still not here, rang up to see where food was only a meal for 1 the guy didn't speak English on phone and hung up tried for another half hour after that, rang again guy passed phone to women she told me 5 minutes food still didn't come 45 minutes later place is a joke

Been here a few times now and i have to say one of the best fried chicken places i been too fresh and juicy the batter just melts in your mouth especially when you have a bit of chicken skin with the batter omg its amazing. The wings while a bit small for my liking are still very nice and fresh. there burgers are usually very good although they have forgotten a few things in my burger from time to time like the cheese or the bacon or the hash brown sometimes all three so i don't often get them. Moving on to the wraps they are very good the wrap itself can tend to be a bit soggy on arrival if you get a home delivery but you won't mind cos it's cram packed full of juicy melt in your mouth meet that makes you want to dance with happiness. There chips are just as amazing lightly seasoned and fried to perfection you will demolish those fries before you even start your chicken they are that good i normally get 3 packs of there fries cos unfortunately they are small portions especially if you get it in a meal deal. Now my biggest problem and this is just me picking at little holes is when you get a bucket meal it does not come in a bucket instead it arrives in a carboard box which is all but falling apart at times upon arrival due to the grease of the chicken so i would prefer a bucket which is shown on your website but overall 4/5

Excellent service-Telephone order, midweek, chicken on the bone & gravy, arrived within stated time 20 minutes and piping hot.

My grandson loves Chicken and the crispness of the Portions of chicken. We live in Town. Easy to get to.

We go here regulary chickens fresh cookedcand crispy and not dry meat. Great jalapeno and cheese bites to. Perfect staff and quick delivery.

Never had bad food from here. Service is always good. Always have a chat and the banter with Sarcastic Chicken Girl is great. Bit annoyed she hasn't been there recently... What's happened to her? She better not be having holiday. Chickens always better with her back handed compliments!

AVOID. Dirty, expensive, DRY DRY DRY chicken. Felt horrendously unwell the next day. Miserable staff - how they have been permitted to run a franchise is beyond me.

Pretty good place clean and tidy place and the food is very good quality the chicken is crispy and falls Mickey off the bone and it's also seasoned well by the waiting time is slightly long. But over all it was a great place

Me and my wife visited here on a Saturday evening. Staff were rude and we were both woken in the night with sickness after eating here. Reported to the council and the FSA. Avoid.

I visited here with my wife and 2 children as a quicker option than KFC. We were greeted by a nice friendly man. However I could only have wished that the food be as nice as the customer service, I would like to explain why; the chicken was pink. The original boned chicken looked like a soggy dog chew and was dripping in grease. The man who boasted fresh chicken was seen shamelessly pouring our chicken fillets from a frozen bag into the deep fat fryer. We also observed the chicken nuggets were in-fact the Chicken Nuggets for sale in Iceland (see attached photo exhibit A) the chips were drab, flavourless and poorly consumed. Even though the customer services were good, the atmosphere of the restaurant was uncomfortable and empty. Food also over priced for frozen food.
