I had a chance to eat in and ordered by phone and food was just okay but they took 1 hour 15 mins to delivered to my place. It was shameful for the owner of the shop even I called him up 5 times and he was so irate and sounded so angry and irritated. If you are in a food industry and found some food allergens there which needs to be addressed by National hygiene guidelines and regulations by the hygiene agencies. X

Ordered nugget meal and 2 peace meal,re fried the chips that were sat there,tried to tell the guy not happy but to busy on his ear peace!gravy takeaway like washing up liquid

Poo didn't want a thing as others ordering but say can you do a spicy wrap. He said yes . Plain tasteless overpriced chicken.. it wasn't that it wasn't spicy enough it was just chicken and lettuce! Go to collorado cheaper and better taste.

I have been ordering the same thing at least twice a week. Plain chicken, because THERE IS that option on the menu, with no spices because I am intolerant. To make it clear: Not because I dont like spices,because I will go to hospital if I eat spicy food! Today after waiting for an hour, which is the norm apparently, they sent me peri peri chicken despite, as they said reading my message, just because they had already marinated the chicken! They did not ring me,they did not cancel the order,they chose to send me something that could send me to hospital! I rang and instead of receiving an apology and a new order I got that terrible excuse. Unbelievable!!! Never ordering from them again! I will be leaving my good money to somebody else twice a week! That's it! When you have terrible customer service that is what you get! To the bin it is! I will order now from somewhere else! What a waste of money!they did that to my friends as well when we ordered food to pick up and I had an order in for myself. They told my friend it is a little spicy! They won't be ordering again either. This is how you go out of business!Good luck! Ps: The beef burger we ordered had none of the stuff that we wanted either! Another failure! Milkshake was crap. Lumpy watched him make it and was just mr whippy ice cream with a bit of ferrero roche was naff. Wouldnt recommend the milkshake but matey boy seemed sound enough

I have never left a review on anything before but this was so bad I had to do one it’s not about the food necessarily because it never even arrived I ordered from here on Uber eats and waited as normal 2 hours go past bearing in mind they put on the app it was going to be a 20 minute wait I got concerned something had gone wrong so I called there number on Uber eats 3 times, no response then I call they’re website number 3 times, no response so I had to deal with the problem through Uber eats to try and get my money back disgusting customer service and I don’t usually care but this was really bad 100% avoid here If I was you there’s loads of chicken shops in bury that are better

Got peri peri chicken and rice but ended up with chicken selects and rice so confusing because that’s not what it said

One of the best peri peri chicken places in town. The flavours are fantastic, and if they tweak their rice recipe, it could easily become the absolute best. 🌶🍗🔥

Nice burgers but why can't you understand basic English? This is the 3rd time in a row I have told them 20 times over the phone " NO RED SALT ON CHIPS" and they send the chips drowned with peri peri salt? What language should I speak you want me to stop ordering food? 3rd time in a row absolutely despicable

Horrible, order more than an hour ago, told me my order will be on its way soon, but nothings coming, uber eats wont update and the shop won’t answer my phone calls either. I only ordered a burger and chips

Everything was good the burgers are one the best in bury. The staff are great and the atmosphere in general is calm and nice

The staff are horrible. They only allow some customers to pay by card. I'm never going here again. I went out in the freezing cold and rain to get cash the next customer who came in 5 minutes was able to pay by card with no issue because they go there often.

Lazy and liars They take ur money never give u the correct portion sizes. Main guy older needs to retire as looks and give the attitude of CBA Shame as food is nice But not being ripped off Lied too Shame I’m not of a Asian background will probably get better service

Very friendly staff. Food is excellent and always tastes fresh. Nice varied menu with large sit in area. Very clean and hygienic. One of my son's favourite fried chicken places and he has eaten fried chicken all over the world.

Over an hour late delivery, a driver that couldn't read the house number, and constantly lied too when calling to ask where it was. Food was ok, but would pick it up if you actually want it.

I'd give 0 star if I could. Do not order unless you are prepared to wait 2 hours for food. Delivery stated 10-20mins, after an hour rang up they said the driver was on the way, after a further 15/20mins rang again to be told the same, then ended up ringing again to them laughing down the phone to say the driver will be there again in 3-4 mins, rang again after waiting 5/10 more minutes to still no food being delivered. Do your self a favour and order from somewhere else

Tried this place year's ago, surely with time it's improving..good lunch time meals also otherwise it is still a tad bit expensive than the rest of fast food places!

if i could give 0 stars i would. when ordering our food it said it would take around 10-20 mins. but after waiting for over an hour and the food hadn't arrived we decided to ring up, first of all the number they have on uber eats does not work and says it's invalid. so we looked up the number and rung up and asked how long it would be. A rude man answer and lied and "joked" to us that our order been delivered 40 mins ago, which obviously wasn't NOT true. After the inappropriate conversation with the man who answered the phone he told us it would only be 10 mins. after a whopping 1 hour and 40 mins wait for food it fianlly arrived at our door. The food was lukewarm and the ice cream was cold flavoured sawdust. do not recommend. even mcdonald's is better than this. do better.

Sorted my issue out. Website states open until 3am Sunday. This isn't correct.

My burger fell apart completley and the wings tasted like they were microwaved. Service however, was very good. Can't fault the people.

These guys must have the worst customer service in Bury hands down! Don’t believe me? Order anything from them around 1pm and watch how they treat you. They got my order wrong and when I called them back and requested to get the right order they just hung up on me. This has happened many times not just with me but my colleagues too. Personally, to me my self respect matters as much as good food. Never ordering from these guys again. Also, why is it cash only? Come on boss man, start taking card payment.

I have only eaten from here twice first time was 17/06/23 this was chips only and I was impressed on how clean they were and what food they had on offer which prompt my next visit the following day Sunday 18/06/23 around 16:30ish. As we walked in the gentleman was very friendly and informative, he also advised my Mrs the Peri Chicken was just freshly cooked (as she wanted the ‘healthy option’), he explained what the Supreme Burger contained, meal I was sold instantly. The establishment was busy inside but then again it was raining heavy and it was a Sunday afternoon so it made sense. We ordered (to dine in): 1 x Half Peri Chicken Meal with Rice/Chips 1 x Supreme Burger Meal (the burger contains Peri Burger with 2 x Chicken Strips) 1 x Jalapeno Cheese Bites We got 2 x Mozzarella Sticks free (which was a nice gesture from him) Total = 22.50 Cost – I thought was a little tad expensive I thought it was be around the £20 mark but this is in Bury Town Centre so wasn’t massive (compared to other establishments I have dined in). Food – I honestly can say this is the best burger I have had! Everything was on point, bun was fine, peri burger was excellent, chicken strips and even the salad was fresh (I was surprised never seen a takeaway give salad this fresh). My Mrs Peri Chicken was great also she loved it (she said it was better than the nearest competitor to Chicken Cottage no I am not referring to Dixys) she did want it spicy but said it wasn’t that spicy no issue she put chili sauce all over it, once again my Mrs was impressed with the fresh salad (she even noticed it how fresh it is – she is a cook), she also loved the rice she is very picky with rice she can tell if someone uses cheap rice and she stated the taste and overall quality with the rice was great. The jalapeno cheese bites and mozzarella sticks were good, if I had to make any criticism and this is being harsh, the peri chicken was slight burnt BUT we prefer it burnt a little than undercooked! I was surprised how clean the establishment was as usually takeaway in Bury town centre are not that clean due to the patrons being so messy. They also have a disabled toilet which is another plus. As we were leaving the gentleman on the front asked how the food was (never get asked that in Bury town centre takeaway) advised it was amazing and will be back. Parking is costly but then again that is Bury council for you! Unless you park quite far away from the establishment you may find cheap parking, I guess the walk back to the car will help with the digestion of the food. I have read other recent reviews (they are mostly negative) and these seem to be based deliveries, I never get food delivered (will get cold and soggy by the time it gets to you), I always eat in or pick up as you can correct the order (if given wrong items) you can also judge how fresh the food is (I check each meal individually).

I would give it 0 stars if it let me, finished work seeing what was on Uber eats anyway end up ordering from chicken cottage as there was discount but didn’t seem to anything really knocked off props maybe like 20p and got 2 meals both spicy chicken wrap and spicy chicken burger meal both like 8 pounds might aswell just got normal one that was cheaper no spicy no nothing and it was rubbish will not be ordering again,

Ordered through Uber eats on the app it says a certain time but when you call them no matter what you say before they even get your details they say 10 minutes. Didn’t even know my order and they said that. Terrible service and cold food. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE

I went with my friend recently and we both ordered 6 pieces of chicken nuggets and shared a regular portion of fries.Ot was so disappointing; we watched the guy make it and he was shovelling it out of a disgustingly greasy tin. When we came to eating the food, the chicken didn’t taste like chicken and fries left oil on our fingers. We did not want to consume that much oil so we were squeezing out the grease on tissues and we had about 10tissues soaked in grease. Would not recommend.

I won't be visiting again The man who serves is nice but he does what he wants and not what i want I bought gravy but he put red salt all over my chips without asking He puts the chips on top of the chicken wings they should be separate in a different piece of Greece proof paper The drink out of the machine was terrible had no fizz The chips from the meal 25% worth was fresh 75% was cold and old All in all not the best I will be trying the chicken shops on the other side of the road next time I'm in bury

Absolutely mesmerising food, would suggest to a friend. Boss man makes it a nice cosy environment to enjoy your delicious food. Prices are more than fair. Come between 12 and 4 for a real steel deal.

Obviously it is superficial food they cover with spicy but they just sold uncooked chicken with bad quality.

Appalled . Terrible poor hygiene standards . Waited for my order and staff was sneezing over the food and one man was itching his bum and then touching the burger buns . When I asked if my order was ready he said he had no rice . I explained it’s not acceptable at the end of 20 minuites waiting . I raised my concerns of hygiene and he said I will speak to them

Waited over 2 hrs for 2 chicken burgers, phoned up an was told it was 5-6 mins away 10 mins later phoned back again an was told it was gonna be 10 mins, food was stone cold by the time it arrived will never go back again, waste of money

I went after a exhausting swimming session with my kids to chicken cottage, I was extremely hungry which usually means what ever you eat will taste good lol not on this occasion. I got chicken nuggets an chips for my daughter which was decent enough for her and a cheese burger for my other child. She left half of it so I tried it an saw why she left it not much taste an very dry on outsides. I got the chicken cottage bbq chicken burger with hash brown inside. Ive never tasted a more disgusting hash brown not sure where they buy them from but they aint no mccains lol Also after a few bites my bun had fallen into bits which i hate when having a burger and the chicken was not at all tasty. I ended up leaving half of the meal very dissapointed and Im pretty sure I wont b returning 🙃

Made me wait nearly 45 minutes then says they can't deliver? No customer care here just the need to take English money with no regards for our market nor customer service. And this is the second attempt after the last was dryer than a turkey which is seriously bad news. Using a brand to make money that's all. My experience

Finished work at 10pm and wanted a quick bite to eat. Ordered food at 10:10pm, food arrived at 00:25. Absolutely disgusting service. I only ordered a burger meal for 1! The app updated me saying “your food is on its way”, and being 5 minutes down the road I assumed I wouldn’t be waiting long. After 40 minutes I phoned the restaurant thinking they could not find my house. The mobile number attached to Uber eats doesn’t work, so I had to find the main number on Google. A man answered, and very rudely said “it will be 15 minutes.” I waited, a further hour went by. I phoned back- 16 times- no answer. Finally got through again and said I’d been waiting almost 2 hours for my food now, and he said “ok, it will be another 20 minutes”. Finally got my food, the driver didn’t say a word to me when he handed my bag. I just scoffed at him and took my food inside. The burger was freezing- as were the chips. I took 2 bites of the chicken, threw it in the bin and went to bed! Fortunately within those 2 hours, I’d ordered a McDonalds which was ordered, delivered and eaten, all in the time I was waiting for chicken cottage. They are a disgusting company. Disgusting staff, disgusting food. And I will never ever ever order from here again. Give up your business mate. You’re vile.

I was order food and after more than an hour’s waiting I called the restaurant asked about the delivery they said on its way which is they are lying, later around 12:35am delivery man brought food and was so rude also I opened the food smell was awful and was burning chicken and over cook I wasted my money and my time in front of my guest made me shame! Please avoid to order here Just put your money into the bins.

Never order from these guys... ordered for delivery once 6 piece bucket and the guy sent me a 8 piece whilst demanding the money saying i said 8 on the phone where i didn't. obviously didn't give the extra as not needing the extra. after 2 weeks ordered again for delivery and the arrogant guy started brating me and asked me at least 10 times if i wanted the 6 piece and not the 8. also had a previous experience where my dad ordered and they ordered an 8 piece bucket (including 8 wings and 8 strips). when received the guy said that the 8 strips were finished. why didnt he tell us on the phone no idea really ... Its sad tbh because they have good food just really terrible customer service..

Ordered from this place on deliveroo and when it was time to be delivered we rang the restaurant to find out they had cancelled it started to make excuses up and when asked for a refund they told us to speak to deliveroo so been on the chat 5 times trying to get it sorted won’t sort it then rang the restaurant up and was rude to me on the phone saying there really busy but can answer the phone but won’t be able to do my order it’s a joke do not order food from here it’s a waste of time

My food never arrived and it is 02:14an and they close at 02:00 am. It was meant to arrive 01:05, latest 01:25 as it said. I have no food, my money has been taken, what kind of service is this. Why confirm the order, send another confirmation via email and take my money if you will not deliver the food. This is thievery, I would not recommend them at all. Terrible service all around. I want my money back.

Ordered through Uber Eats, Chicken Cottage handles own deliveries. An ETA was given, and they exceeded it by almost an hour. Using Uber Eats' order update option, you get no reply and you aren't connected when you call Chicken Cottage's number for an update.

Honestly can say this is the wist place I've ever every ever been 1. I told the guy you have no fried chicken will it be fresh, I said I don't want refried chicken as they did nit have any in the warmer. 2. I seen him refrying old chicken. So I went to the counter and said, I made it very clear before I ordered I don't want refried and he said ohh yours will be fresh this is fir delivery. 3. I got my food and surprise surprise mine was refried he just don't it in the back where I could not see. The batter was rock hard the under was just oily yukk. 4. He gave me a 2 tubs of mayo and one had a hair in the the other seemed like someone dipped his finger in 5. Tables are dirty like really dirty 6. No coustomers service the guy was just on his phone. What the hell has happened to chiken cottage, I used to go to the one in Manchester which was decent but the bury one has put me off for good.

Gets a 2 because the chicken burger was decent but... Chips very soggy and wet and Pepsi is the fake stuff from abroad. Also order off uber eats and delivery was 30mins later than time estimated. Delivery driver and person on phone was nice and polite otherwise.

Friendly staff, decent chicken and pretty good value for money.

Absolutely the best takeaway in bury, food and service is always 10/10 delivered on time or earlier, ordered loads of times that we are now regulars never had an issue won't go anywhere else big shout to the staff and drivers(prob sick of seeing my face) but can't resist a chicken cottage platter 👌

The food in general looks good. Unfortunately I cannot eat it straight away as cold. This place was recommended to me but cold having to warm up. Also ordered corn only to be sent onion rings ??? Phoned the shop they don’t do corn but it’s on the menu ! Shop cannot give me a refund so it has taken over 1/2 hr to contact Just Eat for money back that will take at least 7 days. Food might be good but is it worth the hassle

Ordered food good delivery time abt 20min paid 10 for a combo meal they sent the meal version which is originally 6 50 but I paid 10pound the worker must deaf or something and can't even get my money back good food but dissatisfied with the service

The food with Chicken cottage has always been good quality however what is consistently disappointing is the staffs persistent inability to deliver a full correct order. No matter what can of pop is ordered, the only pop that gets delivered is Pepsi! The staff are able to understand on the phone what it is you ask for however repeatedly demonstrate an inability to deliver this. This is very frustrating. Another problem also arises when extras are asked for, e.g. cheese on a wrap or burger. Again the staff acknowledge over the phone what you are asking however fail repeatedly to get a complete order right, however still charge for what you ask for. As well as this, gravey and sauces are often missed out. This is frustrating as what customers are asking for is not rocket science.

We went to Chicken Cottage in Mill Gate Shopping mall in Bury. We had Fried Chicken and Grilled chicken from there. It was amazingly fresh and tasty. Chicken Cottage Fried Chicken and their customer service is the best compare to KFC or any other chicken shops in and around. Definitely worth visiting here.

DISAPPOINTED [ZERO STARS IF I COULD] - Ordered through UberEats using wife's account on on Sat 3-Jul-2021. Order was late and then NEVER ARRIVED leaving 4 young children hungry and disappointed. Tried to contact multiple times on the mobile number given but there was NO RESPONSE. Found main number through Google and finally got to speak to someone. They just LIED numerous times - firstly saying that the order had been ready for over 45 mins and that I had not provided an address [UnberEats confirmed the vendor can see the address], then they lied stating that they had called me but my number was dead [even though I was calling from that very number and had not received a single missed call, text or email from the restaurant]. Then they lied to say the driver arrived but we did not answer [how did the driver arrive if they initially stated they did not have my address]. Then the man became irate and started blaming me, giving me abuse and threatening me. We won't be popping into this place needless to say or ordering from them online. Had to waste mire time getting UberEats to cancel the order and refund me. THANK YOU "CHICKEN CONN" FOR RUINING THE SATURDAY FOR 4 YOUNG CHILDREN AND THEN MAKING UP RUBBISH. SHAME ON YOU. STAY CLEAR!

Very bad Customer Service. My daughter ordered through the Uber Eats app, when the driver arrived my daughter handed him a £20 note and said keep the change. She later realised that the money had automatically been taken from her PayPal account. When she phoned Chicken Cottage they said they would look into it and ring back. On the 3rd call they said the driver said he never received £20 from her and basically said they believed their driver and not her. After checking our CCTV cameras it clearly shows my daughter handing the driver £20. We then phoned Chicken Cottage to advise them that we had CCTV showing the driver accepting the £20, they would not offer the refund and agreed for us to take the CCTV footage to the police.
