The chips all this oil and then we don’t have customer service before it was good shit the food is well not helpful

Ordered apple crumble from there are it came stone cold doughy and raw and I’m not happy at all because every time i have ordered from here there is always a problem or a missing item!

Incompetent - and no concern for customer service. Spent money on deliveroo for deliveroo and the restaurant to be absolutely disappointing in sorting out a refund. There's no sense of concern or care for the customer. Whether the food reaches them or not.

Just ordered from this place for the first time, and never again!! Delivery was delayed and took its time arriving. Chips were cold, onion rings were inedible as were burnt and the gravy was grey In colour and like jelly. Don’t waste your money there, awful food.

Found this place last night and will continue to use, first of all the shop was very clean and staff were quick to take my order even though it was busy, the food was good too, lots of choice as I'm well fussy, happily recommend to people, look forward to going back in the near future.

Ordered through Deliveroo and Ubereats, the chickens were hard like they just reheat the chicken. Staff didn't even bother to pick up the phone. Order takes too long too proceed. My place is only 10 mins away but it takes way so long to be delivered. the bbq sauce tastes nice. However, not really impress with anything.

It’s not like how they used to serve fresh and good portion of meals! Just went to chicken cottage after a long day to have a some food! The chicken wings and chicken burgers were very dry like it’s been sat there for whole day! I call them and they won’t do anything about it! I would definitely not recommend it to anyone and I won’t be coming back.

Expensive and hit or miss. Delivery is guaranteed to take ages. Servers sometimes take a long time to come to the counter from the back when ordering in person. Chicken wings are nice and spicy, all mini drums no flats (drumettes) and an ok size, little on the smaller side. The drumsticks are consistently great from here but the other cuts can be dry, I assume because they sit under the food lamp for too long as drums are the most popular cut. Thighs can be very thin also, to the point of looking more like a schnitzel. Depending on the day it can all be dry. Fries are crispy but don't come with salt, which is fine because of the salty/spicy chicken wings. Drink selection in store is good, but online only have expensive cans. Interior is good because the store is new, but the sink is often broken. Probably on par with KFC, just a bit different. Edit: added some photos, as you can see not a drumstick in sight with my 3 piece meal and wings...

As visitors into the town, most will attempt to find a halal spot, but it’s EXTREMELY disappointing to have Muslims sell very poor quality food, 5 of us went to eat and all 5 were disappointed. Chicken didn’t taste fresh, my grilled burger was thin as the lettuce, and wallahi soon after eating I had a sharp pain in my stomach. The premises are not very clean either. I don’t advise anyone to buy from here, better to go subway and get a tuna or veg wrap, or visit the halal kebab shop opposite, which was sadly closed when we arrived.

I've only eaten in once before, so no comments there. But every time I order from them, the food is amazing, warm, the chips are perfect to me and the chicken is good too. The gravy was a bit off-putting at first, sort of looks like a jelly blob, but it's actually better than KFC's somehow! There's one delivery guy - I don't know his name - who is an absolute star and makes my day brighter with his energy and friendliness. Love him!!

The place is filthy. There was a terrible smell in the seating area. They have a sink for customers to wash their hands, unbelievable amount of limescale and grime. I poked my head into the toilet to see what that was like and it was shockingly bad. Guys. Have some respect for yourselves and your customers. Clean the place properly.

Very bad!! I’ll never never buy it again😅 This delivery not through the platform so I can't track it. Since I didn't receive the delivery call, the delivery man left. The clerk told me that if I bought another one, he would refund me the first one, but five days have passed and I haven't received the refund!!

My Son ate a takeaway from here on Sunday 24th March 2024 and is now in William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, Kent, on a rehydration drip with food poisoning! Avoid 🤬

It's a chicken shop, so wasn't expecting much but I remember the chicken being tastier both the peri peri chicken and fried chicken were a bit meh, does not come close to the flavours of London based ones but it hits the spot when u want your fix, could do better though.

I opened my chicken burger and there was fluff instead the burger, I don't know where they store their chicken or even if they dropped it on the floor but that is disgusting and it has happened more than once the chips are also very dry

Without exception the worst meal I have had for as long as I can remember. If you like your chicken dry ,shrivelled and sat under a hot plate for hours. This is the place to go. Otherwise avoid at all costs

We didn't expect to find a halal shop, but there it is. We ordered the mountain burger, peri peri chicken burger and peri peri chicken with fries. They were really good and the portion was enough for us. However, they didn't inform us that there was no water in the toilet and the sink, which was really troublesome for us. Also, the seating area was a bit smelly. Not a bad smell but still it was a bit uncomfortable. We decided to wait anyway because of the cold weather.

Customer service was amazing, really friendly owner. Food was top tier as always. I got the peri peri burger with peri chips. The chicken was succulent and full of flavour. The chips were crispy and seasoned well. You could tell all the food was fresh. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area

Visit and order for takeaway. Eat at the hotel about 20 minutes later. 1 start for food, only just because it's halal, alhamdulillah. However, the chicken and rice are dry. Not sure, but feel like not as fresh as it should be. 2 stars for service, as they do have a student discount and an acceptable smooth ordering process. 2 stars for the atmosphere, as they do have a sitting area next door, but overall need a good deep clean. We might be visiting Canterbury again or recommend to friends places to visit there, but unfortunately will not recommend this restaurant, unless the owner improves their services, especially their food.

Visited this shop for the first time since new owners took over. Food was horrendous. Both kids and wife were ill through the night from chicken wings. The colour of fried chicken looks like oil has never been changed. Avoid at all costs.

I visited this place 1st time 3/4 months back. There is a Pakistani girl (not sure might be European) named Katrina (!!!) she is really kind served us like a family member. Other staffs are also very gentle. Food was better than KFC and McD. After that I went this place several times only to see her face only. I am thinking isn't she a blessing for this place!

A few times have ordered from here. Last time chicken was too spicy. This time made sure we asked for regular but was still too spicy! We're not shy of spice, just don't want it on my country chicken. Won't be coming here again which is a shame as very local

Ordered the BBQ chicken but the sauce was so spicy I couldn't eat it as I have allergies to spices and the BBQ was like hot sauce and my chips where soaked in the sauce also so wasn't able to eat it 😔

Not overly impressed! Takeaway full of deliveroo and just eat couriers - took five minutes to get served! Chicken was ok but chips were warm not hot and tasteless! Doubt if I'll be back there!

Absolutely shambolic excuse of a chicken shop. Got my order wrong twice despite me clarifying what I wanted. The staff were so ignorant of my requests. In my 55 years of living, I have never ever experienced this unprofessionalism and absolute farce of customer service. My child was left in tears after how they had messed up our order on his birthday. The portion sizes are an absolute joke. Regular size chips were smaller than McDonald's small fries. The food was cold and staff were unfriendly and rude. Never going here ever again.

Order 8 wings meal, the portion is very large , the wings were well seasoned but a little dry ,the chips were fine but not salted but still edible and filled me up . The food overall was good . Hopefully the next time I order the chicken is fresh !

As a new university student, this is a great place to buy a quality meal for a cheap price, being new to the area it has been hard to find places to eat and this has helped me greatly.

We went first time There. Very expensive. 12 chicken. 2 chips. 1 drink £28(no wings or coleslaw) , in london you get same deal for £15.99.burgers £8.99.owner must be billionaire. In London burgers £3.99 from Chesters which is better taste then chicken Cottage. dry chicken.had to ask just for tissues 3 times. 3 universities in the area ripping off needy and struggling students. Instead off focus on long lasting running business they prefer to ripp off peoples once and think its once in a lifetime opportunity.

MODERN SLAVERY 1000%, I’ve been thinking about this all week and I’m sure the lady who was serving me was mistreating her staff. She hit one of them and said that he couldn’t eat for a week and was further verbally abusive to them as well. This should be investigated

Wir kamen mit der Stufe aus Deutschland und haben uns erstmal in der Stadt nach guten Essens Läden umgeschaut. Irgendwann haben wir uns entschieden hier zu essen und es war die beste Entscheidung meines Leben. Nach dem Tag haben wir die ganze restliche Woche in der wir in England waren bei diesem Laden gegessen. Das essen ist Top und das Personal extrem freundlich und sympathisch. Es gibt genug Plätze um sich hinzusetzen und der Laden an sich hat eine schöne Ambiente. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist vergleich zu anderen Läden in England sehr gut. Hier bekommt man für günstiges Geld gutes Essen

The quality has become absolutely disgusting. A few months back they were a good alternative to KFC with better prices . But these days they don't care about the quality of the chicken. Ordered delivery and the Chicken batter was undercooked and pasty , the BBQ wings and almost no sauce at all and was burnt in most places. Very sad to see this.

I have never been so disappointed in my life, exactly at 00:10 there was a very rude Indian lady who had no regards whatsoever to my complaint,hanging up the phone multiple times even after I was clear that I paid,she heard the nerve to tell me she wanted to go home and hung up after I paid my money.She just shouted at me like I'm the one who did not make her food.This showed me a huge lack of unprofessionalism.Please I would love feedback or to meet the manager.

Bad experience, service and food availability should be definitely improved. They advertise in front of the shop food that is not available inside (grilled chicken). Long waiting for trivial request such as chips.

I was excited to eat here because its halal, but didn't have a good experience. The staff aren't very approachable. They are too busy joking around and chatting with their friends instead of serving customers properly. Fries were rock hard so couldn't eat them and chicken wings weren't fresh. Drink was warm. have had decent food here before in person but ordered for delivery tonight and it came an hour and 20 mins later than the latter part of the expected delivery and was stone cold when it arrived. they use their own drivers for delivery so its on them and not a third party

We had the peri peri chicken with rice and it was amazing. Chicken was very tender and the sauce was amazing. Would definitely recommend this.

Customer service is very bad, very poor, as they don’t know how to deal with customers, very rudeand they all in hurry. I was there today and the meal was smelling bad, I really repent that why I choose that restaurant to eat, I never recommend anyone to go there.

Ordered supreme burger (£7.50), regular fries and onion rings. Burger was absolutely not worth it. Fries were soggy and cold. Also not many of them. Onion rings were cold and not good. Overall: overpriced and not good.

Few people are giving bad reviews, and I see why as the service is hit and miss depending on the person working but normally you get a good burger with great peri fries and a very kind lady who always is friendly. New owners could sort the burger sauce out though. In my CT chicken rotation for sure.

I would avoid ordering from this place at all cost they sent completely the wrong order out and then tried fobbing us off for about another hour saying they didn't have a driver etc they couldn't get our food to use just the worst service I have experienced and then tried saying it wasn't there fault even tho they sent out the wr9ng order to start with

Visited shop and ordered 1/2 grilled chicken, Rice and chips in 13£. Charred Chicken with burning smell. Rice was just like Uncle ben’s microwave rice. Very disappointed with food quality. Never gonna visit again.

It was fast. The chicken is all prepared. It was somewhat warm. It tasted similar to KFC. The fries were good. Pretty average fast food.

I visited this place last week with my brother. We had 5 pieces of chicken and chips between us. The chips were actually ok but all the chicken inside the fried outer was grey with bits of bloodied sinew. We chucked it straight in the bin. Disgusting place.

Went into the shop and ordered some chicken with rice/chips and salad with a drink payed [£12.70] went and said down after telling them were we would be, sat down, 10 minutes go by, 20 minutes go by, 25 minutes go by the staff didnt bring my food they were to busy playing around with some tv and some advertising in it, they couldnt get it the right way, my food was ready but they never bothered to bring it to me so i sat their because they couldnt be bothered to bring me it, do not eat here.

For a place that is supposed to specialise in chicken the chicken is wack. Low quality chicken, weird batter. The fillet burger is 2/5... I will no longer eat from here. Ocakbasi across the road is open later, and tastes better.

1 star for drinks is generous considering their warm. The 2nd is for the manager as he seems like a decent bloke. If you order from there make sure its fresh otherwise dont waste your money.

We used CC many times through covid and before and the food was usually pretty good. However this latest meal was really poor. The fries had clearly been reheated multiple times, they were dark and chewy, and similarly the chicken was nowhere near freshly cooked. Their standards have really dropped, we won’t be using them again
