Poor value and a dull venue lacking decor, furnishings and atmosphere. No idea why it's well known and I certainly won't return.

Been twice now, very good Korean Fried Chicken and even the ribs, would definitely recommend visiting at least once for the fried chicken. Book in advance to avoid disappointment since seating is limited and tends to get full quickly for a Friday / weekend evening.

Update - have since been a couple more times and always great service and incredible food. Have yet to have a bad meal from here and probably never will! Best fried chicken around. Had a lovely takeaway from here with a friend. Ordered a bit of everything to try it all and loved it. I hadn’t ordered ahead so did have to wait quite a while for it to be made (but this just shows it’s freshly made to order, so no bad thing!) so I would advise to order ahead if it’s going to be a big order! Staff were warm and friendly, it’s a very nice environment in the restaurant. It appears a little on the pricier side but the portion sizes are large, so it’s actually very reasonably priced for the amount you get and the quality of the food. Overall, very impressed and looking forward to visiting for a sit down meal when it’s safe to do so.

The fried chicken is excellent, but I don’t recommend eating fried luncheon meat 😝 I want to ask the beer waiter to try three different styles before ordering, but the dining time is limited.

What an unreal day out! All the chicken was cooked to perfection and it was just an absolute blast to be there, I’d recommend making sure you get some garlic soy chicken as it was the best - I am still not over just how good everything was, to top it all off the service was great and the beer icy to the touch!

The only place I get my Korean Fried Chicken and I am korean so I've had my fair share both here and back home. Highly recommend!

Tidy place, with huge servings of fried chicken. We got the half fried half glazed, but id probably recommend getting the whole lot glazed. Chicken was really nice and the garlic soy was banging, cajun chips were ok but I'm not really a fan of chips so probably biased.

Chick & Beers on Coombe Road is a perfect example of ‘less is more’. They have a limited but Fried Chicken first, focused menu which is executed consistently and perfectly. With Korean Fried Chicken that far exceeded already high expectations, I have simply concluded that this is the best place in London for Chicken. I didn’t try any of their beers but if their chicken is anything to go by, I'd guess that’d be amazing too. I have been to Chick and Beers Coombe Road on multiple occasions. It being almost an hour and a half journey for me is not enough to deter from having one of the most breath-taking chicken pieces and restaurant experiences money can buy in London. A special shout-out goes to the consistently friendly and attentive service at Chick & Beers, but more specifically to Rebecca who works at the Coombe Road branch! Fried chicken but not Korean fried chicken 3.5 stars Average fried chicken but for sure not Korean fried chicken. Selection of the different chicken flavours is quite small. The menu also shows that the owner might be not Korean (radish charged extra). Food: We ordered the spring onion boneless chicken (325gr/£12.5) and the garlic soy chicken wings (4pcs/£11.5). The spring onion chicken was ok but the garlic soy was way too salty. Waiting time: The restaurant was pretty empty (2 other tables were occupied) but waited 25 min from ordering to receiving. Here they could improve. Service: ok beside the long waiting time

Alright here me now it was my little sisters birthday and before she goes off to uni we decided to try out this relatively know Korean fried chicken place called chick and beers in New Malden/Coombe Road branch. We had to sit in the outside part which was a bit depressing at first but that all changed when we were great by our amazing server Mj who was brilliant and made the whole culinary experience a joy. I got to try a lot of different things because I was with my siblings I got the half half (fried/glazed) with garlic soy, along with spam fries and a complimentary mozzarella sticks because my chicken took a bit longer than everyone else. I also got to try the Cajun fries and sweet chilli nuggets. Half Half chicken - garlic soy/fried As good as the half half chicken was which is like 15 pieces of chicken so don’t make my mistake and think you can conquer it all, you aren’t the Roman Empire. The normal fried chicken is succulent and well crispy but lacked flavour by itself and heavily relies on the sauce so I do recommend to always get it glazed or to do the obligatory dip in the sauce you get on the side. 7/10 Spam fries I have never had spam before so this was a risk me choosing to get these and I’ve heard that they are amazing but when I had them I didn’t understand the hype like they’re quite tasty, very salty though I wouldn’t get them again though. 5.5/10 Mozzarella sticks I did have high expectations because I’ve always thought you couldn’t mess up these but I was a bit disappointed they did have a decent cheese pull but the batter was not good. It was in need of serious salt because it lacked taste. Very underwhelming but it was free so I was happy about that, would not recommend . 3.5/10 The Cajun fries were very good, great portion, crispy, fresh, fluffy on the inside. I was pleased with it. Sweet chilli nuggets were hefty, unusually big for nuggets you could eat those with some fries and you would be good. My sister’s suggestion to make that just a bit better was to have two different glazing choices instead of one for the whole thing like the chicken. Big portions was happy about it. The sweet potato fries I ordered was bit burned though. Original chicken is good ,garlic soya was okish. The chicken tenders with onion is nothing special. The Spam fries was ok.

I’m really not person who write a review. But i felt like i have to write here after trying this afternoon. I just moved to the UK from South Korea 4 months ago and have been disappointed with Korean restaurants in London. However, my life has been changed after trying fried chicken here. I can say that fried chicken here is better than the ones in South Korea. If you wanna try real-authentic Korean Fried Chicken, here is the place. Guys working there were also super friendly and nice. Highly recommend!

Outstanding Korean fried chicken. I've been coming here consistently for nearly a year and have always had a great time. The waiters are friendly, the consistency of the dishes is impeccable and the flavour is just right. My go-to order which I strongly recommend includes: a half and half portion of wings (garlic soy and spicy), onion rings, and spam fries. I find this to be enough food for 2 people with a medium appetite. For bigger eaters the whole chicken half and half goes pretty far.

This place is amazing, the food is 10/10 and the service is 10/10. Sophie was friendly and very helpful in making our time here welcome, would recommend for families, groups or even by yourself. Really good treat for gym goers(so much protein!!)

Amazing fried chicken and tasty beer!

Family visited for my husband's birthday. Welcoming restaurant. We ordered the main with sweet chilli and spicy sauces. Ordered sides extra. My husband's comment was nice and crispy but lacking in flavour that we would expect from Korean food.

Extremely dirty, smells bad - like rats, dirty floors and seats. Plenty of flys! Don’t buy into the social media hype and five star reviews. I’ll be avoiding this until the hygiene doesn’t improve.

Amazing Korean fried chicken! The plain fried one had a light and super crispy batter. The chicken was cooked very well - hot, juicy, tender and well-seasoned! The soy garlic one was also delicious. The Cajun fries had a nice spicy kick to it! All of them paired greatly with a pint of beer!

The food is awesome. Service is very slow,we waited 30 mins for our food. They could do with more staff and tables as it gets quite busy. Also they close the kitchen at 9:15 pm, way too early.

I love the chicken here it's so goooood. It's a little slow to come out, but thats just because it's done fresh and cut from a whole chicken. The staff are fantastic and I would not hesitate on giving it a go.

Went to sit outside as inside has no vibe, no music and a bit awkward. When we sat outside we was surrounded by cobwebs and was very dirty. Was hungry so just ordered anyway. The wings were good, Cajun fries average, and the nuggets were very bad. Had a soggy yellow batter, typical of a Chinese takeaway of dough balls. Staff looked depressed and when we sat outside, they served someone else who arrived after us while we were there waiting.

it was so grandiosely advertised on social media that we expected the restaurant to at least look a bit appealing. Food was tasty, presentation not so nice, portion size is big. The staff would always have to be hunt down to talk to them, they were all in the back.

The environment is too echoes. Any voice & noise inside seems to enlarge and expanse and make it very noisy. But the food is good just the chicken pieces are smaller than before and the sauce coated the chicken pieces are lesser as well.

Best wings I've ever had hands down. Went to a chicken wing festival and none of them compared to the wings I've had here on a consistent basis. A MUST-try.

Amazing restaurant. The fried chicken was delicious and the coating was to die for. The sweet chill and the extra hot sauces are amazing and the chips were seasoned beautifully. Zero complaints. Very fairly priced for the south of England too.

We went there today with my whole family,as we like to eat out and try different places and food, we'll, I must say we never regret eating here as the food was excellent and great taste, with affordable price.the staffs are friendly and welcoming, excellent customer service, I will definitely recommend it to all , it's a must try. THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE IT. We’ve been to so many Korean eateries and my Korean bf says this place is exceptional, and we drove one hour to get here. The food and service is insanely good and once you eat here there is nowhere to go.

Love the KFC here! Double fried to perfection. And it's halal too. The service there is just amazing and provide so much of care, always with a smile.

Food: Honestly I was expecting more. The chicken was really bland. The only one that tasted good was the glazed one. Service: The staff member that served was very nice and welcoming, very polite too. The only let down was that we were waiting for about 30 minutes for our food, and we were one of two tables being served. Atmosphere: It's a nice little hangout spot, good to go with friends and family for the sharing factor. They were playing Korean music, (kpop etc) and that was a nice touch Overall: For the price I was expecting a more full bodied flavour, and better service.

Bit of a wait for food, but it was a busy Saturday afternoon & (I'd prefer to wait as I tend to think that if you're cooking food from fresh, it takes time!). The chicken was very tasty, and the portions were huge. Lovely waitress. Definitely going back!

The atmosphere and service at this restaurant are commendable, creating a pleasant dining experience. However, when it comes to the taste of their fried chicken, it falls slightly short, just surpassing the standard set by KFC. Additionally, during my visit, I noticed that one piece of the glazed chicken was served cold, leading me to suspect that it may have been pre-cooked.

Obscenely crispy and juicy Korean fried chicken. It’s good value too - a whole bird is just over £20 which fed two of us with leftovers. It’s very customisable with glazes ranging from soy to spicy. Worth the trip to New Malden alone.

Surely the best fried chicken (Korean or otherwise) in London. You have to wait as everything is only cooked after you order it but the fried chicken is stunning. Very light, grease free batter and the marinade has turmeric and other spices in it. Just mind blowing lying good..please don't take away. Just eat there

My friend and I visited this Korean fried chicken place last Saturday.(30th April) All the tables were taken when we got there(around 17:00), the waitress let us sit at the bar to wait, and luckily we didn’t wait for long to get a table, right after we finished discussing about what to order, no more than 10 mins. The place is small but quite busy, and we were surprised that there’s only one waitress serving all the customers. The waitress was really nice and sweet, and we got our drinks and food very fast. We were extremely satisfied with the quality of the food, I’ve been to South Korea many times, the fried chicken was authentic, so crispy like the one you can get in South Korea. I particularly love the two small pots of dipping sauce they provided, which makes the fried chicken even more tasty. The drawbacks are 1. They sold out all the Korean beer. 2. The chilli sauce fried chicken was too sweet, it would be even better if it tasted a little bit spicy. 3. They somehow didn’t provide a small portion of pickled radish, usually in a Korean fried chicken place, that comes with the friend chicken you order, and we also forgot to ask about it. Overall, I really enjoy my first experience dining here, can’t wait to visit here again soon!

Really great fried chicken but need to improve the sides. For example, the Mozzarella sticks are dreadful and the onion rings taste like shop bought frozen rings. A real shame as totally ruins the overall menu. Easily remedied though.

Went for late lunch at 5pm and had chicken with different types of seasoning. Cajun and garlic soy were my favourites. Cajun reminded me of a dry rub rack of ribs. Definitely need to go back again. Best to either go early or book a table as this got busy quick and then some people had to wait for tables.

Some of the most delicious fried chicken I have ever had. However the door not closing properly does make it a little draughty and cold occasionally if you are sat nearby.

I made a special trip to New Malden to visit Chick n Beers after it was recommended to me on Instagram but I left really disappointed with the lack of taste and flavour. Yes the batter was light and incredibly crispy, the chicken was succulent and not greasy, the presentation was great too but it was just so bland - no saltiness or spices on the meat or coating! Based on other reviews it appears I should have gone for the glazed option instead of just fried. If I go again I’ll know for next time.

The food was really great despite having gotten takeaway which got cold on my way home. But even after re-heating it, the chicken tasted lovely especially the garlic soy glaze. It was almost as if I had bought it fresh. Can't wait to go back here again as I live on the other side of London. Improvement can be made on the wait time as I had to wait 30 minutes for 4 chicken wings but overall very good!

Ain't gonna lie yeah, the staff is so sick. They're incredibly nice and friendly, always helpful and hard working. The atmosphere here is something else honestly, it feels very homey. Food is incredible man, its so juicy and delicious. Never had such crispy chicken in my life. I came in with my girl, and I left with MJ and Tyresse. They're always so helpful and friendly.

Seriously the best fried chicken around! The only drawback is that it can take a bit for the food to arrive, but trust the chicken is worth it! I would not recommend any sides apart from their cajun ones as the flavour of the chicken can overpower most of the chicken.
