My daughter can't have dairy or soya, I saw they had 3 vegan flavours on display so then checked with a staff member about ingredients and she was very helpful. The ice cream was really nice and it was good to have a few choices. We'll definitely go there again.

Spent quite a bit on desserts which were pretty average then orded a pot of tea. At the till we were charged extra than stated for Yorkshire decaf tea which we questioned. Apparently this business classes it as a fruit tea which is absolutely absurd. Short term gain leads to long term loss I'm afraid.

First time we have visited Chiappini's. We have family in Thanet and was visiting Broadstairs. They reckon that the ice cream in Chiappini's is better than any where else. I can now vouch for that. I spoke with the owners and was told that they import the ice cream directly from Italy. We had teas and coffees and cakes also. The owners told me that they only bought the place just over 6 months ago and have great plans. They have introduced a wine bar/cocktails area. The owners and staff are very friendly and welcoming. They also do a loyalty card that will provide a free hot drink on the 10th purchase....we already have 7 credits! Thank you Chiappini's and we will be back when next in Broadstairs.

Went to Broadstairs and it was raining, so popped into this nice cafe for a coffee and cake to cheer myself up, the 2 young ladies inside were very eager to serve me as there first customer of the day. They made me feel welcome and had a chat to me, very nice coffee and a banoffe cake, which was really tastie. Its well laid out and has two ceiling lights which were very decrotive, thank you ladies you cheered me up and when I came out the rain was gone and the sun was out.

We really enjoy the coffee here and the atmosphere. Always clean and tidy. Staff are friendly. Background music (sometimes Italian music) isn’t too loud so you can talk. The ice cream is tasty and there is always a great selection. Would like to see an apple flavour and a melon flavour as you don’t get them often. I think if they could staff it they could open the ice cream hatch later and serve take away hot drinks in the evening, there’s plenty of walkers about.

Terrible coffee and terrible service. I was most surprised at being allowed to order a hot drink and sit outside, only for them to immediately close and lock the cafe doors (would I have been allowed to use the toilet?) and start packing up the outdoor tables and chairs. There was no warning of this and it was 90 minutes before their Google-advertised closing time. I would have liked to sit and enjoy my coffee (had it been drinkable) looking at the view but instead I felt most unwelcome and driven away. Spend your money elsewhere.

I Don't believe a lot of the reviews on here. Some downright vindictive parents by the looks. Public toilets are 1 min away. Complain to the council if you dont like them rather than impose on the nearest business to use theirs. If youre not sitting at a table, paying more, why should you use the loo?.like i said, get your little sweetheart to use the public loo. Juggernaut pram owning entitled parents seem to think the world revolves around their kids. Newsflash. It doesn't. Staff today so personable and likable. Piping hot coffee. Nice selection of pastries with assorted fillings. Good hot cappuccino, milk not burnt, non dairy options for milk too, plus a great sea view. Steady stram of nice parents buying ices for kids and i observed portion sizes were ample. No complaints from me or other customers today. Wish people would stop taking a pop at local businesses, especially as the industry is on it's back. Take your prams, your kids and your moans to costa, via the public toilets.

We visited this evening during the Broadstairs firework event and grabbed 3 ice-creams for our kids. The portion sizes were abysmal. The two young girls serving were lovely but we politely asked if we could use the toilets for our young son and the owners rudely barked no at us! We stopped at Chiappini's while exploring as the ice cream in their fridges in the window looked amazing with a large selection to choose from. There are tables outside over looking the beach and we were lucky enough to grab one to sit and take in view while enjoying our ice cream. The reason for the average review is none of the staff we first asked knew if any of the ice cream or sorbets they were serving where suitable for vegetarians, the girls looked absolutely clueless as to what we where asking. Luckily an older girl working there over heard and confirmed the sorbets where suitable but I can't think we where the first people to ask this so it might be useful to have a sign that says only the sorbets are suitable or train the staff on the vegetarian options. This is my only complaint, the ice cream itself was amazing, I had the salted caramel, my friends had the mint ice cream and the lemon sorbet. They also had a great selection of cakes. Definitely worth a visit.

Went along with visiting relatives for morning coffee and cake. We were eating in but were told we could only have takeaway cups and plates as they had no staff to wash up. I ordered a cappuccino. What I got was a very milky, flat white, with no foam whatsoever and no chocolate on top. In face it was the worst excuse for a cappuccino I've ever been offered, and I couldn't drink it. We ordered pastries for three of us, and were told we could only have paper plates. That I could live with, but all three pastries were given to us on one plate. My partner's parents and I are not Siamese triplets I am not close enough to them to want to squish up to them and intimately all eat off the same plate. A shame, because it's the only place in Thanet that sells cannolis, although they aren't particularly good ones. Won't be returning. I've had better coffee, and more willing service, from vending machines.

Bad food is never cheap enough, it should be binned. Don't waste your time or cash. Then I went to the one and toilet to find the uneven steps with broken tiles to tread on leading to a toilet for all with no seat. It needed a good clean too. This really let it down. Shame really.

Piece of red velvet... Stale, gypsy tart... Okish.... Victoria sponge... Hmmm dubious especially the cream. £20 for four drinks (Inc 2 'fruit shoots'.. The cheap version ones) and 3 bits of crappy cake.... Funnily enough we won't be returning...

Visiting as a family on a cold, windswept weekend in February Chiappinis looked enticing, but was disappointing in so many ways that we won't be going back. The service was sullen. The toilets were out of order when my daughter needed to go, but rather than offer the use of the staff facilities or even seem even slightly apologetic we were directed to the public toilets which are quite distance away, and seemed even further in the bracing winds. The staff were mostly engaged in cleaning. Not the wiping tables down sort of cleaning, but 'proper' polishing mirrors, washing down display cases, sweeping floors stuff. It was as though we had trespassed out of hours, although we were not the only customers in there. There was no pretense at creating any positive ambiance. The building was physically cold. It was telling the the waitresses were all wearing jumpers a gillets as there was no way you could take your coat off while eating there. I don't usually stay huddled in my coat when eating out! Finally, and perhaps worst of all, the pastries we purchased were all stale. Absolutely horrible in fact.Such a shame...

My husband and I were taken in by the moorish pastry bites in the window after looking at other coffee shops nearby .How disappointing. How we wished we went elsewhere after all .The chap that served us at the counter, I presume the owner, looked grumpy was quite off hand . My husband didn't order his coffee as was put off by his demeanour which was quite rude . I continued with my order but the place lacked any atmosphere and looking around other customers too but really this place just doesn't deserve the business ! We won't be returning or recommending!!

The ice cream we had was nice. The cream cake we had wasn't so good, it seemed like it was maybe left from the day before. We had a pushchair with us, which was very difficult to manoeuvre in the restaurant as the seats and tables are so close together! The overall appearance of the restaurant is in need of freshening up! Definitely including the toilet which is unisex and pretty horrid! I also used this after a member of staff had, and it stunk of smoke and body spray! Unfortunately this was after we had eaten here, if it had been before, we would've left!

Lovely place to stop for an ice-cream and a coffee during a sea-front walk. Good quality ice-cream with some unusual flavours to choose from. The sea-view was lovely, making it a very relaxing experience.

stopped here after visiting Bleak House. We ordered two ice creams, tiramisu and trifle. Good price and large portion. I couldn't manage all of mine and it was delicious. They had plenty of other food on offer eg sandwiches, pastries, and cakes. Tables outside overlooking Viking Bay and harbour. Nice place to stop and people watch. Cannot comment on food as we didn't eat here but ice cream delicious and staff friendly.

I do have coffee and ice cream here but I always want more of something! after a walk along the beach we went in for a coffee (£5.00 for 2 coffees) but wanted toast or croissant, it always seems to me as if it is lacking something and its not cheap, especially when family come down. I think the location is perfect but they need to provide more choice.

We enjoyed coffee and pastries for our elevenses. This is a very large café, kept nice & clean too. If you enjoy pastries you will have a tough time to decide which to have.

Very disappointed that the sea bass only came with new potatoes, what ever happened to healthy eating and having some other veg with it as standard? Which is what I would expect at any restaurant and not have to order separately, otherwise the meal would've scored 5 points as what I got was very tasty but not worth £12

food is very bland and not too a high standard, we waited ages for something we could have thrown in the microwave

Visited today for a late breakfast and we were not disappointed. There were tables spare and we were warned of a wait for hot food, but ours came within a reasonable time. Large All-Day Breakfast of sausage/.bacon/poached eggs/beans/large mushroom/hash browns and toast with butter. Quality excellent and served with two butter portions. My wife have chocolate cake, add on a coffee and a hot chocolate and the whole thing was just over £20, excellent value for the quality served!

This used to be our favourite wetherspoons and we was here all the time, but sadly has gone down hill in 2024. It has got very dirty, the place is just not tidied up and toilets contantly flooded with piss. It never used to be like this but most of the staff have changed and they just dont seem to care and stand around on their phones. The WiFi stopped working in April and despite me contacting wetherspoons numerous times they have unfortunately ignored it. You can connect but no internet. Collectively we have tried 11 devices all with same issue. Every other spoons I have no problem. They now only use plastic cups every day even when no events are on at dreamland. They do not wash them before use and they make your drink taste funny because you are ingesting microplastics. The street out front is littered with hundreds of these platic cups. The manager told me the council put a restriction on them using glasses and nke they have to onpy use plastic, however after noticing no other pubs in Margate do it I contacted the council, who have said they are lying, there are no special restrictions related to mandating plastic cups at any venue in Margate. They also said they will investigate the use of single use plastics as these are restricted under local licensing in Thanet. I have written to the manager of the wetherspoons direct and he refused to comment. What has annoyed me is why does he feel thr need to lie? Just tell the truth. They wont let you drink out a bottle any more or let you pour your own. They glug it into a glass and spill half of it on the side or throw throw the last drop away. How is it so hard to pour a beer? Additionally it is hard to get a full pint now. They rush so much you have 2cm of head on every pint so you never get a full pint. I have reported the short measures to wetherspoons and trading standards with photos and videos. We got lots of apologies from wetherspoons when we complained and a few free drinks but sadly they are still getting worse so we just dont come any more. Most weeks they also kick everyone out before 10pm on a Friday or Saturday because they dont want to work late.

Had 2 fabulous meals here whilst on our holiday. The food is first class every time. A special mention for the Lobster Thermidor which is the best I have ever eaten. The sauce is just amazing - you just have to try it. Fabulous service. Word of warning - if you want to try the Lobster Thermidor, ask to reserve one when you book a table, which is essential to avoid any disappointment. Thanks again. See you next year.
