Car park and entrance is confusing. Our room was small but comfortable as we only went for cheapest. My parents room was outstanding with balcony and lots of room. The hotel and stay is exceptional in every other way. We had Private Dining Room for family event. Abraham our evening attended was amazing, a credit to the hotel and nothing was too much trouble. He made our time there and we can't thank him enough. The food was delicious and well presented with thought. Top quality and nice choices. Breakfast was equally tasty and a vast menu of options. The event team leading up to the stay were also very amenable and very supportive. My only negative was they presumed we knew where the entrance to the hotel was and we'd never been. So finding the entrances and working out the car park was stressful along with loading and unloading. Particularly with a disbaled person. I was sent a brief on parking which needed a map of entrances on it and floor numbers. However once again a stunning hotel, with kind and thoughtful service from Abraham and Ellie. Thanks very much

Stayed here due to the location as it's nice and close to everything we wanted to do while in Brighton. Given the extortionate parking process in Brighton, we were delighted to find out that the multistory carpark within the marina is now free! The room was lovely and well maintained and the view overseeing the marina was beautiful. The staff were very helpful and the general presentation of the hotel was to a high standard. Would 100% return.

Nice hotel but not the easiest to get into on your first visit, but once you've found the way in there's no problem maybe just needs a bit better signage, also when we drove into the marina our sat nav said will be on the left but it was on the right, room was fine little smaller than some, staff were friendly polite and helpful, had a room with big balcony and views of the marina and sea very nice, only stayed one night but would go back, 🏴‍☠️ UTG.

Its ok. Usual souless chain hotel ambience. I was woken up by people being noisy at 500 am with loud telly and talking. Also the usual loud drunk people in corridors at night, which they do nothing to control. I played some music around 11pm and they were knocking my door within minutes to turn it down. I didn't think it was particularly loud. There are very few people here but it seems we are all hearded into rooms adjacent to one another, for convenience. It is expensive: £23 for breakfast is steep. Athough current free parking arrangements helped with my visits to the hospital nearby. That is why I chose it. I had planned to further book for next week, but I won't be returning. Brighton Marina is odd: I felt like an extra in The Prisoner. Lots of prim, new housing but few seem to properly live here. Its fake character promotes a saddness within me. But it is quiet when out of season, I suppose.

We had two rooms, one room had broken furniture (missing bench), another had no fridge. A cup is missing in one bathroom , in another room the cup was so dirty. One of the towel has stains on it. This is a 4 star hotel, costs us more then £100 per night, they do not provide water in the room. This is the worst 4 star hotel I have ever been, so disappointed

Great location, really comfortable beds, and if you get a sea view room, then you also have incredible views. Only 2 down sides to the hotel shower don't drain well at all. I found the floor to be covered in water after a shower. This was the same with the 4 rooms we had. The price for the breakfast i found to be really overpriced for what you get. £23 for a small fried breakfast and continental is a little over priced.

Thought our room would be too small, but for the price it was perfectly adequate. Again for the price we were perfectly happy with our room view of Marina ASDA and the roundabout. Parking in the nearby multi-story carpark was no hassle and if you park on level 6, you can easily cross the walkway to get to the hotel. The hotel was nice and quiet, and the room was nice and dark thanks to the black out blinds. The lifts were a bit temperamental during our stay, but this was only a minor inconvenience. The room furnishings were a little tired, and the lighting in the room could be better thought out. As we were staying a few nights, every day that we choose not to have our room cleaned, fresh towels or linen changed...we were allowed £7.50 per person per night in the bar. My partner was pleased to get a free daily pint of Brewdog IPA, and I was happy to pay a little extra for the really rather good Espresso Martinis (salted caramel / Vanilla) and a most agreeable French Rose. A range of non-alcoholic beverages are available including a promising selection of mocktails. If you prefer to forego the room cleaning *and* the bar, then the hotel will make a daily donation to charity instead. We don't like or need our room cleaning everyday, but we appreciated the extra incentive of a free drink. Reception were generous with handing out replacement tea/coffee/sugar ect. The tea and coffee sachets provided in the room were particularly good and now we have now converted from our regular brands. Shower - good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Not too keen on the shower screen. Provided toiletries were of good quality, but felt the dispensers were a bit stingy. We would stay here again, provided we could get another great room rate. I want to try out the stylish vending machine in reception, and I've heard that there might also be a chocolate espresso martini, that I need to try.

I can't even begin to tell you how positive my experience of this hotel was. My son had surgery in Brighton and we got stranded because of the snow and decided the best thing was to get a hotel. The hotel was functioning on a very reduced staff and the duty manager Steve went above and beyond for us. He was doing the jobs of everyone in the hotel - he even helped us with parking the car so my son didn't have to walk the icy journey from the carpark to the front door. He was also making up beds himself amongst other very kind things which I know aren't part of his usual responsibilities. He felt like a saint at the end of an incredibly stressful and emotional day and I can't rave enough about this kind and generous man. The hotel itself is also beautiful and my son thought it's was the fanciest place he'd ever seen in his life so turned into a nice little adventure for him in the end.

Christmas Dinner.. very disappointed. Starter mediocre, mains Good..sweets poor. Service very poor although limited staff tried hard. They did not know content of meal. no welcome or directions where to get welcome drink No directions where to get coffee after meal. We were a company of 5 adults and one child. We spent a considerable amount of money. There was no small gift for the young child, and the menu was dreadful for child...a big mistake I know times are hard for the hospitality market but an events manager should have been on hand to oversee the actual event and manage any questions. I am sorry but so looking forward to this day with my family a d so badly let down. Would have been better going to either the Turkish or Italian restaurants in the marina at less than half the price.. That is definite next year's plan.

Oh, Malmaison Brighton Marina, where do I even start? With a marina view promising a blend of chic and charm, I was all set for a stylish stay. But, in reality, it felt a bit more like the travel equivalent of expecting Concorde and being handed a hang glider! First, the practicalities: parked in the multi-storey car park, a quick five-minute stroll brings you to the hotel’s rather mysterious entrance—tucked right behind Pizza Express. As a former First Class cabin crew, I know a thing or two about entrances, and let’s just say this one wasn’t setting the tone for an impressive arrival. Our journey upstairs began with a painfully slow lift, so much so that we actually opted to take the stairs to the second-floor reception. Once there, we were greeted by, shall I say, a character behind the desk. He was polite but gave off all the warmth of an AI chatbot. Eyes down, monotone delivery, a string of perfectly rehearsed lines—tick, tick, tick. I half-expected him to ask me to “Press 1 for check-in” by the time he finished his spiel. The room itself was a masterclass in making-do. A double bed was squeezed in with barely enough room to shimmy around, and while the décor aimed for chic, it felt more like camouflage to hide budget basics. Now, let me tell you, the bed had this oversized base—a padded wooden thing that jutted out farther than the mattress and duvet. Navigating that in the dark for a bathroom run, I clonked my leg. Hard. Not quite the soothing night I had in mind! One thing you don’t expect to find in a £216-a-night room is a door ajar to a shared balcony—a detail we only noticed after a breezy surprise in the night. Turns out, the balcony door had been open the entire time, inviting in the Brighton elements, as well as potentially a guest or two. It was an unsettling detail, knowing our personal items had been exposed to whoever might be on the other side of that balcony. In the morning, I gave the coffee machine a go. An easy task, or so I thought. Not here. The cups were so small, they overflowed with each coffee attempt, which made it all feel a bit slapdash. Brighton’s Malmaison is a far cry from its Manchester counterpart—a city Mal experience that has all the polish, style, and genuine four-star luxury you’d expect. Brighton’s version, however, felt like a distant cousin that’s more three-star than anything else. For £216 a night, you’d expect more than a slow lift, moody décor, and a stay that lacks the finesse Malmaison’s reputation usually promises.

A nice hotel in a good location. A little pricey for what you get, but I guess being in the marina, there's a premium to pay. The free car parking is a bonus. Rooms comfortable. Bar disappointing, selling draught beer in Schooners as opposed to pints. As a beer drinker, I did not like this at all. 2/3 of a pint and being charged near enough what a pint should cost ! This is the UK, and our standard measure is a pint ! Another disappointment was the breakfast. I had the Full English, my partner, the Eggs Benedict. Neither were great, and for the cost, I'd recommend giving it a miss and instead, to nip across the boardwalk to Wetherspoons and have a comparable breakfast for half the money.

Me and a mate stayed for one evening and we really couldn't fault a single thing. The hotel itself is lovely. It's really modern, with a cosy bar with an outdoor terrace with a lovely view of the marina. We had a spacious and well equipped room that was immaculate. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. They had happy hour at the bar, too, which was an added bonus 🍻 the only slight negative was finding the place. It's pretty confusing knowing where to park and how to find the entrance, so we ended up having to ask people for directions for the car park and the hotel entrance, but that was genuinely the only very small issue we had. Will definitely stay again!

We expected it to be better than it was from reviews and images we'd seen. We were a little disappointed when we arrived. Parking was an issue to begin with as its in a nearby multi story carpark, not signed and there's a big sign saying "Maximum of 4 hours" that was 'just left by the council'. Our room was quite small and the balcony had just enough room for 2 mismatched chairs, one being plastic, the other metal, but with no cushions and a bit of rust coming through the paint. Trim was coming away from the windows and where it had been painted in the past, it hadn't been cleaned up afterwards very well. The carpet had stains that looked like the metal chair had been brought inside and rust had left marks. We chose not to eat at the hotel as there are plenty of places nearby, but we did go to the hotel bar. I ordered a couple of drinks that would be brought to us on the terrace. After 15 minutes I went back to see where they were, to be rudely told "I did tell you I had a couple of drinks to make before yours!". If it takes that long to make 2 espresso martinis before our drink that tasted as though it came out of a box arrived, maybe some bar training is required, as well as 'how to speak to customers respectfully'. We paid an extra supplement because we had a small dog with us. A bed was provided, as well as bowls and an unexpected bag with treats, waste bags and a ball. Although a kind gesture, the ball was brittle and pieces broke off it within a few minutes. Luckily we spotted this and put it in the bin. Sadly not the greatest experience and we'd choose to stay elsewhere in the future.

I'm truly shocked at all the positive reviews this hotel receives. The rooms are awful for the price you pay and half of them were flooded with sewage due to terrible plumbing. The service for the most part is poor. Most people who work there clearly don't care about the customer experience. There's also clearly a lack of staff so they're probably being overworked. The only thing they have going for it is the fact that it's on the marina, so lovely views. Though the balconies don't really get cleaned often so your more likely to enjoy your morning coffee with a great view and some bird crap on the floor next to you that's been there for weeks. An honestly poor hotel for the money you pay.

It's a great place to come for weekly shopping. The staff are always helpful and friendly. The only thing is that the price is more expensive than the other supermarkets. Love the tomatoes here.
