If you are in a hurry and looking for a window to get served, then this is not for you.Chez Lindsay was certainly unhurried, as we spent some three hours enjoying gastronomic, rustic authentic Brittany-modelled food. We have been to some great French restaurants, including Michelin star numbers. This was up there with the best!We absolutely loved our evening, thank you!

The place is now divided up with hanging perspex screens. It was full of happy lunchers and they told us there is an upstairs room as well which they may open. Staff are French, friendly and efficient. As well as galettes there is a decent French bistro menu. I think the set lunch was £15 but I had a whole crab because you don't often see that. Lovely little place and I'm so glad they are still doing well.

The Glasshouse

21/09/2020: A Sunday lunchtime reservation for six people and celebrating our 39th wedding anniversary. It was a delightful meal with excellent food served by charming and very helpful staff. The occasion could not be faulted. Thank you to The Glasshouse, Kew.
18/09/2020: We took advantage of the no corkage charge to have lunch here. It was exquisite. The tuna sashimi and octopus linguini from the starter lost were excellent. Rolled pork belly and the rock bass from the mains were amazing. I had the passion fruit meringue pie for dessert which was awesome but so were all the others. For just under £40 for three courses is an excellent value.

Ma Cuisine

29/10/2020: I love this restaurant. The service is charming, humorous and friendly and the food is superb.I went last night and was very sad to see that Covid restrictions mean that very few people were taking adavantage of this lovely restaurant.A basket of bread and a foil-clad pot of French butter arrive first, then I had the Scallops with truffle gnocchi and cauliflower puree, an absolute taste sensation; my companion had the Crab with Avocado, generous and delicious. Then she had the Lamb Rump and I had the Duck Breast with Caramelised Chicory and Port Jus, gorgeous. Washed down with a bottle of their excellent Cremant, we rounded off a superb meal with Pineapple Tarte Tatin with Coconut Icecream. Swoon! If you want a perfect night out, this is the place to go. Excellent in every respect. Lovely old French music playing gently in the background enhanced the experience even further!
24/10/2020: Revisiting this restaurant after an interval of a few years I was delighted that the standard of food hasn't changed. We had lunch today (24 Oct 2020) and chose the set 3 course meal for £19.50. There was plenty of choice and it was not easy to decide which of the mouth-watering items to chose. The risotto starter was full of flavour , the beef (bourguignon?) with mashed potato and green beans was on a par with the best of Brittany, and the pineapple and coconut ice-cream was delicious: everything was of the highest standard, superb in both taste and quality. The ambiance faithfully reflects a French bistro, and the service was efficient despite the one waiter serving all the table in the almost full restaurant. We did not have wine so I'm unable to comment on that.We came out feeling that we'd had a superb meal at a very reasonable price. This place really is a gem and I'll certainly return before too long. Very highly recommended.
