One of the best beef chow meins I've had over all the food we've ordered has always been really nice and hot. Wouldn't go anywhere else now

The worst Chinese food I’ve ever had (not being dramatic). I thought I will give this place a try against my gut feeling as it had mixed reviews on Google. My gut feeling was right, and it wasn’t happy about the food at all. Please don’t order from this shop if you don’t like wasting your money on bad food.

Almost took 2 hours for my food to come. I ordered the munch box and it was far too salty and actually got ill because of this. Its probably the worse takeaway I've ever ordered. Won't be going here again!

I've not ordered from Cheungs for a while. Hoping the food was better than my last order. This time it was worse. Everything was dry, the beef was well overcooked, or may have been from the day before. Never again.

Stopped in after work on a whim as my bus hadn't shown, easy to order and pay, didn't have to wait long and the food was piping hot. Got home and ate and both my husband and I are impressed. Plenty big enough portions, sauces were absolutely delicious and we are both stuffed. Will definitely be ordering from here again!

The worse take out ever ,an hour and 33 mins to arive and freezing cold and disgusting, honestly the worse food ever and cost nearly 30 quid ,save ya money folks and go somewhere else .

Been eating here for two years now, coming at least once every fortnight, mostly once a week. Never had any issue with the food, staff are always friendly and food usually ordered during peak times on a friday is always ready when I walk in and piping hot. Cheers guys!

Ordered around 7pm on Uber, around 8:30 I tried calling them and the phone lines were disconnected. Waiting till half 9 and still phone lines were off. Had to go through Uber to cancel the order

Food salty, lacking ordered expected ingredients prawn toast n veg spring rolls. Disgusting. Delivery man said he had no change f fee of £17 f a £20note . I'm sick vomiting due t salt levels. 29 mins ago! Will not order again. All is too salty n overpriced. Been sick n throwing up due t excessive salt levels. Didn't get past starters. Always too salty everytime no matter what I order. Won't buy from here again.

Just ordered through justeat, realised we had made a mistake so rang direct to alter. Food came barely warm and the portions were halved compared to normal. Alterations were ignored so it was pointless. Ordered dry ribs to receive bbq. Duck was not crispy more like slimey fat. Only thing nice were the chips. Won’t be going again.

5* service from the girl who answered the phone. Munchie box missing off order at delivery drivers fault. Issue sorted by staff on phone and food is amazing!

Ordered take out,couldn't eat the meal it was covered in what seems to be table salt not even rock salt. Very disappointed and I ended up putting the meal in the bin what a waste of money and food.

Very dissapointed, arrived cold waited over 3 hours. To be honest too cold to eat, apple tried to deliver earlier no door bell rang. Have had their food previously no problem

FOOD POISONING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE. Both me and my friend suffered severe food poisoning starting an hour after eating this takeaway and lasting 4 days for both of us! Absolutely vile !!!!!

What a fantastic meal we have just had delivered absolutely mouth watering. Came exactly on time and food came piping hot. Would absolutely recommend the char shi pork and cashew nuts and the batter on the sweet n sour chicken balls were insane. Well done 👌

First time and last time,we ordered Sunday night I would not eat it to me it was under cooked,I wanted to send it back but my son told me to stop been daft and eat it well I wouldn’t!!!he’s now got food poisoning and 111 had to send an ambulance out to him!!

Nice food Very reasonable prices that was a year ago Got 1 tonight after been on a late shift. Asked for sliced chicken with just beansprouts, no had onions and carrots in the chicken tasted so boiled it was totally tasteless and had a strange texture, chips ok very weak gravy Won't ever be going again .so looking forward to it and it was a huge disappointment Was way better when original owners had it Only had a few chips really off putting

Great meal from Cheungs. It had that wonderful fresh taste. Nothing greasy or oily. Beautiful food. Thankyou so so much. We can be quite picky when it comes to our takeaways. And with that inind I can say we will definitely be coming back. This is our new go to Chinese.

ive been ordering from cheungs for many years, ive never had a single complaint and the best thing i ate was their barbecue ribs, always my number one chinese

Worst Chinese I've ever had I had better in Africa wow the chips are a soggy mess tastless noodles are straight up from Lidl across the road meat is chewy just tastes like it's stale and been reheated worst thing is you wait hours for this I'd rather eat my dangle Berry's

been coming here for past few years for the salt and pepper much box and enjoyed it every time UNTILL NOW just been to picked one up got home ABSOLOUTLY VILE I wouldn't feed it to stray cats outside!!! chips undercooked no meat on the bones of the chicken wings ribs was just gristle, when I phoned up to ask if it was under new management lady said yes "DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE IF YOU WANT TO WASTE YOUR MONEY" Iasked the lady on the phone what could be done about this (her answer i don't no). i will not be ordering again.

Ordered a delivery said would be 30mins i rang 45mins said been out for delivery 10mins 2 5mins later still not arrived so i cancelled. Reading reviews this seems to be a major problem,

Ordered tonight for first time in ages as had no cash. Wasn’t impressed fried rice and fried noodles was nice. But the chicken curry was very bland salt and pepper chips was soggy like they’d been left which was cold! And delivery took nearly an hour and half. When your spending £23 you expect it all to be nice was very disappointed.

Deliveroo order Ordered at 5 (as soon as they open) and the prediction was 60 minutes. 1 hour 40 mins later (and lots of chasing) the food arrived The order was missing an item so we ate what we had and then I drove to the shop. The staff were very friendly and apologetic and rectified the situation. Overall a horrible experience but to give them their due they did fix it. The food, I don't rate the chow mein, it is quite small portion and doesn't contain much meat. The curry was very peppery but that was okay. Sweet and sour chicken was very sweet which I loved. Pancake rolls again not the best but not the worst either. Pork and mushroom was heavy on the garlic which I did quite like but not for everyone Overall, I would order again, but only if some of the others in the area were shut or if I had a deliveroo voucher (only chinese in the area on deliveroo). But I would 100% collect as they cannot organise a delivery to save their life!

Lovely communication over the phone and got the order very quickly! Came very fast and the food was very fresh. Best Chinese Takeaway in Ossett, would definitely order from it every week!

Order arrived late and was missing a portion of fried rice and chips. Tried ringing the restaurant and got told it'll be another 40 minutes to get the missing items. Waited 45 minutes and rang back and got told that food hasn't even left the building yet and couldn't tell me how long it'll take to get the food to me. Not eating here again

The best Chinese I've had for a long time. Phoned in an order and went to collect. It was faster than expected. Had king prawn curry with chips and prawn crackers. I'd have it every day if I could 😋😋

Not very often we stray away from our usual takeaway as we are always disappointed but tonight we did and don't regret it. Absolutely gorgeous. Salt and pepper squid - never seen this on a menu. Really tasty, batter not greasy. Prawn toast - we always find this quite greasy wherever we have bought it from. This was perfect. Ribs in OK sauce - All I need to say is fall off the bone! Never had ribs like this from a Chinese. Duck in honey chilli - perfect bit of heat without ruining the flavour. Absolutely gorgeous. Had with chips. Will definitely order again! Thank you!

Ordered from here my partner got chilli chicken. Asked for no vegetables but got them anyway. Next day my partner is in bathroom most of day throwing up and diarrhoea. Its the only thing he ate so we know it was that. I ordered chicken in mushroom and was horrible(asked for no veg also) got a phone call from them asking if I wanted mushrooms!! Not happy. If no stars where and obtion i would have done that…

1st time using this place, Just ordered via uber with 40% off voucher and while eating, decided to come read reviews. So to throw a little positive in there. My review over all of my food tonight which was a salt and pepper movie box and chicken and sweetcorn soup - ordered at 10.06 not realising they close at 10.30. I was going to call restaurant to check we would make delivery before closing time but was tired and chose not to..and just wait and see if it turned up. At 10.34 our food arrived from 2.5mile away piping hot, well packaged and great portion size! Few bits were slightly overcooked to my tasting but better that than undercooked me thinks!? Thankyou for a prompt and tasty meal

Ordered for a delivery at 8pm told me it would be delivered by 9:37pm paid all online never turned up so taken my money and still haven’t got my food will not be ordering again!

Ordered a meal at 8.30pm still sat waiting at 11pm very poor service.

As I waited for my order 2 customers came in complaining there order had not been delivered over a 2 hour wait not to receive your order I only ordered a small meal and yet they got that wrong NOT VERY GOOD

Absolutely disgusting.. Even the prawn crackers are not edible, it's like they have been left out for 2 weeks. This use to be the best Chinese to go to. Clearly a change of hands. Will not be returning

If i could give no stars i would. Was told 45 mins, phoned up after 60 mins only to be told it's on its way, waited another 30 mins, so 90 mins in total. Then phoned up to cancel, either the food hadn't set off after phoning up after 60 mins (like we was told) or after been sat in a car for 30 mins it was going to be clap cold. Chung's have been extremely late the last 3 times, this was the final straw, will never order from here again. Extremely poor service, I'd advise all to avoid. I fully understand establishments get busy at certain times of the year, but at least say to the customer "we're busy tonight, please allow us an hour and half for delivery" that would've been totally acceptable, but don't give false times, then lie that the food as set off, when it clearly hasn't. This place used to be fantastic, be obviously to me it as new owners who don't have a clue. Avoid at all costs, don't waste your hard earned money.

Use to be our go too chinese definitely been a changed of hands and is just not nice anymore over cooked/burnt and taste less felt quite ill after my last 1, hope the lovely ladies who use to answer the phone and take orders enjoy retirement always polite knew something was off when it was a guy who could barely understand my order last few times,

If I could give 0 stars I would do!! This place has been taken over and unfortunately the food is just not up to standard anymore. Not to mention the lack of communication skills are ridiculous. Making the customer service terrible. This evening I have decided never to order again after yet a second order being awful and incorrect! Speaking to them they wasn't willing to rectify and offered a free prawn crackers next time (which I would have received this time if they took notice of the order)... Never had so much of a problem ordering food or it tasting okay.... Never again. Avoid!!!!

I don't know what's happened here recently but it's not for the good. Far too salty prawn toast burnt mini spring rolls burnt. Won't be ordering again.

Food is always spot on and quite reasonably priced, but you need be prepared for a wait as delivery is slow

Ferry good food and good service

Have ordered few times previous been nice however last Saturday took 2hr to deliver the crispy beef was not crispy but very very chewy, char sui pork curry not char sui pork no mushroom in curry not sure if normally in there's did taste OK, salt n pepper chicken was overcooked hard nugget like, overall OK will try again.

Chinese takeaway. Quick service. Food tasty. Just like a lot of similar places.

Ordered last night and it took 90 minutes for delivery! I ordered a mushroom chow mein and it was watery and bland. Very disappointing, I threw most if it away.

Easily the worst Chow mein I've ever had, so bad it's worse than Sainsbury's ready meal. However, the Prawn toast was the best I've ever had. The Crispy Wontons, compared to the Lucky Star in Thornhill were a bit poor. Not sure I would order again.

Love the food and have been a loyal customer for many years now that I've moved apparently they don't deliver that far. I lived 1.3 miles away now 1.8. Hardly an issue an extra half mile is it. Not happy.

Love Cheugs the best Chinese Cuisine in the Wakefield area. If Mr Cheung opened a restaurant and charged me triple to eat the same cuisine I would not gripe. Always service with a smile too from his lovely wife.

Update - although the prices have gone up I just cannot find as nice a Chinese. I must admit it’s worth the extra. Update 7th Feb - so now the same meal that I ordered 2 weeks ago is now more than £2.50 more expensive. I now see how they have gotten around the card charge fee. Unfortunately I will now be looking for another Chinese. Just had our first meal delivered from them. First of all the app was very easy to use, I didn’t want veg in my curry so the notes section is a nice touch. Delivered quickly and not only was it nice and hot even though it’s -1 outside the food was amazing. No complaints here at all. A new regular customer from now on.

Absolutely fuming if I could rate it NO stars that would be been kind, THE WORST CHINESE ive ever had the displeasure of ordering...waited an hour for food, when it arrived it was all flat cold, as for the salt n pepper prawns since WHEN did slices lettuce come with them? Absolutely vile 😡 whoever owns this place wants to be ashamed of them selfs..would Not recommend this place if it was the last place on earth. Absolutely disgusting!!!

One of the worst food experiences in my life! In my opinion this place should be avoided at absolutely all costs.. just go hungry rather than give these people your hard earned money!! .. after being delivered £32 worth of dog food called up to complain.. firstly The duck.. after expressing my discust I was told 'what do you want me to do?, we buy it in, already portioned up' there wasn't a shred of duck in there just scraps of the fat.. the pancake roll that was supposed to be duck had 1 very small piece of chicken in it.. the mains were average at best. Save your money and order from anywhere else but here. This is only my opinion but I don't think from what we ordered that anything (including the prawn crackers) were anywhere near fresh.. all bought in/microwaved rubbish.

First time ordered nice food and delivered when said

Had to wait over an hour for food, then missed food off order when rang up argued we had got it wrong even though they had read the order back and wanted to charge us for there mistake, there English was not good and were rude, we only rang to rectify the order and they were not willing to sort will not be ordering again, wished orient was back in business!

Ordered on line - delivered quickly but chips & pancake rolls came cold as only wraped in paper bags. Phoned & they were replaced but l ordered extra spring rolls & bbq sauce. It came wrong again - ribs delivered inatead of sauce! It took nearly an hour to get everything deliveted correctly - food was then dried up ad been in oven to keep warm. Rare family take away spoilt.
