Excellent staff very attentive, excellent food and great atmosphere.

Food was ok, didn't think it was good value. Service was very slow, it was busy but had to chase staff for bill.

Had high expectations as we've had great pizzas at Norwich. The crusts were dry and burnt. Topping was very thin. Ie 5 very small pieces of goats, couldn't see the vegan mozzarella cheese, 6 teaspoons of spinach and 5 onion pieces.

Lovely food. Staff very friendly and attentive.

We visited today we ordered our food can't fault The starter how ever the calonolii was not calonolii it was folded over lasagna sheets no taste and full of grease. The young lady who we had with us had the kids meal deal and went for the brownie her reaction was it's like dry donkeys arse in the dessert. Left constructive feedback back like does the chef know what Susie salt and Percy pepper is.

The staff were brilliant and made sure we were well looked after.

Pizza Express in Castleford is one of those places where I know the service will be incredible. Every time me and my partner go for a meal, we are so well look after, everyone greets you with a smile and go above and beyond. Eva served us last time and she was absolutely incredible, honestly could not fault her service. Food is delicious, just a tad on the pricey side but the restaurant is kid friendly and has a generally great atmosphere. Would recommend!

Absolutely horrendous!! Went for lunch and less than half the restaurant full yet waited over an hour for our food whilst staff were just stood around chatting. Got a starter to share and then sat with an empty dish for 25 minutes and lost count how many times staff just walked past us, looked at it and totally ignored us. By far the WORST Gluten Free pizza I have ever been served, totally inedible. Disgraceful to be charging £15 for that. Barely any toppings (you could just see base which was absolutely horrendous). I have never had to send food back at a restaurant and be totally put off that I lost my appetite. All staff were totally miserable, except one young girl. For a pizza restaurant it was nothing more than disappointing.

We had a lovely meal here. The food is fantastic, we were served quickly and food arrived quick too. We had our 4 year old grandson with us, we were provided colouring pens, an activity sheet and a hat to colour in. It kept him occupied while we waited. The kids get a 3 course meal for £7.95 which is great value. We had pizza, these were delicious. The staff were very attentive. Good choice on the menu, we enjoyed our meals.

Over priced, poor quality pizzas, and two of our party have upset stomachs as a result of dining here. Staff hardly said two words when serving us. Money would have been better spent getting a takeaway at home and would have been a third of the price!

Great food, great service tonight at pizza express castleford. Our waiter was Lee, he had a great sense of humour, good quick service, and even did a little extra for my birthday dessert....I had told him it was my birthday several times!! Thankyou Lee for making my birthday family meal a good one!!

Our go to restaurant! The staff are absolutely incredible and the food is always perfect! Jasmine and another manager (unsure of her name) are so friendly and kind, always making sure the restaurant is ran perfectly. Kyle is the best server you could ask for. Our little girl absolutely loves visiting just to see all the staff! We love our frequent visits!

Had a fabulous meal before the New Year festivities and was served by a lovely gentleman called Lee. He was so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much bother. Portions were huge so has to take leftovers home!

There were 17 in our party and we were served efficiently without waiting too long. The food was standard Pizza Express as you would expect. I particularly enjoyed the salad nicoise. My only gripe was that there was a 15% service charge added to the bill which in my opinion is OTT to say the least.

Today I came for pizza with a friend. We both have pizza express apps, so we decided that my friend would pay for the pizza and I would pay for the rest. The waitress probably didn't like the idea that we wanted to take advantage of the promotion from our apps, because we were sitting at the same table. I had to explain to the waitress why I wanted to divide the costs in this way and was told that "it's technically impossible". Thank you for such service, I canceled the order and left. There is friendly staff in Doncaster who are always willing to help and never cause any problems. I do not recommend

Looked after well by all the team this evening. I was looking for a warm space while my daughter was at clip and climb. Had a lovely latte and some very spicy dough balls with honey. Good food and service but the toilets need sorting out.

Pizza was under cooked and over priced. Alot of staff doing a whole lot of nothing. Wasn't asked if I'd enjoyed my food when I tried to tell them that the pizza was under cooked they grunted and shuffled off.

A bit pricey for the quality of the pizzas

Me, my missus and daughter come most weeks. Fantastic service and pizza every time, can’t fault anything! Made even better by the Pizza Express rewards app - the missus is gold and I’m bronze, we got £68 worth of food for £23! Top service and top food, highly recommend!

Very quiet but went out of busy times. We preferred it and the staff were amazing. We had our baby so sat us away from main bulk of people which suited.

Very disappointed. Used to love pizza express but it has gone so downhill! One pizza was burnt, the other undercooked. Staff got our dessert order wrong. When it arrived it looked nothing like the picture we had ordered from. No staff around when we wanted to pay. And it cost £56 for 2 people with no drinks! Rip off for a very poor quality meal.

was catching up with old friends and family we came to the Castleford branch and the sever who help us was Mel i am a diabetic and nothing was too much trouble for her she made us feel very welcome. thanks we will be back

Not a bad pizza, typical run of the mill chain pizza. Quality on par with other pizza chains around. Beer could have been cooler. Daughter enjoyed the pens and hat which were provided to pacify her.

Great experience and usually is at this Pizza Express. Greeted on arrival, seated and given a couple of options of tables where we could sit. All staff were friendly and attentive, Lee was very good , attentive and made a food recommendation to us. Paid and tipped on the app very easily. Great service and great overall value for money. Came to pizza express in Saturday tea time a party of 14 .. our server Lee was nothing but exceptional from start to finish.. we messed about with the bill people paying this and that it he helped us along the way ... Nothing was too much trouble for him .... Definitely an asset to pizza express. .. great work and Lee your amazing

A fundamentally disappointing visit. Pizza Express is usually pretty decent, but this branch dropped the ball unfortunately. Chief complaint was my wife asked for a particular pizza but without olives. When it arrived, it had olives on. When she asked for this to be rectified, the pizza was taken away and the olives removed and the same pizza bought back out. Pretty sure if that would have been acceptable, she would have removed the olives herself. When challenged on this, the server we had was rude, and acted as if we were putting him out personally. Food was otherwise fine. I realise not the staff's fault, but the bill at the end seemed high as well, running near a hundred quid for 4 mains, a kids meal, drinks, and a couple of sides.

Lee was exceptional and so were his eye brows.. we are frequent visitors of this branch and this was by far the best visit, great banter and service from lee and his pudding skills are top tier! Many thanks from alex and Sam

We enjoyed our food, and the service from Lee was very good, and he made us laugh. However, it was better last time as the pizza was a tad soggy - but overall still enjoyable. The only criticism is the napkins, they don’t clean your hands properly, and they rip easily, which resulted in us going to the bathroom to wash our hands. I would invest in some lemon wipes or lemon bowl - much nicer to clean hands and face. Thanks

Ordered a take out from here and I was expecting a really good quality pizza considering it was coming from an Italian restaurant and not just a cheap takeaway shop, and costing £15 each for an 11" pizza. Very disappointed when it turned up, dough wasn't cooked properly it was still soft and squidgy. Fresh tomatoes on top not cooked so all the juices ran and made the pizza soggy! The delivery was on time, although, the driver didn't even come to knock on my door, he rang me up and asked me to meet him outside! All in all, it was rubbish! I asked for a refund, they asked for pictures of the pizza, ive not heard anything back! I'd of been better off going to Aldi for a pizza would have been 10x better than the one i received from Pizza Express, and at a fraction of the price too!! Won't be ordering again from here!

We were seated quickly, without a reservation, Sunday lunch time and our server Lee was an added bonus. He made recommendations and was really attentive - making sure we were never kept waiting and ensuring everything was perfect for us. The food was delicious and highly recommended.

He was very attentive and friendly making sure we had everything we needed, resulting in a relaxed and chilled evening! I initially ordered my pizza through the Just Eat app. My home is 5 minutes from the restaurant and I could see the driver's location on the app map after the driver left the restaurant. The original delivery time, when the food was with the driver, was 6 minutes. The delivery time kept increasing and after 30 minutes, and showing the driver on my street, the app showed my food as having been delivered...it hadn't! I phoned the restaurant and spoke to a very helpful young lady (sorry I didn't get her name). She explained that the Just Eat drivers are allowed to collect at multiple takeaways before they deliver your order which they already have either them (which she goes on to say Pizza Express vehemently disagree with as it's them who get negative reviews for food delivered late/cold etc.)...very enlightening! She also said that as soon as the food leaves the restaurant, their responsibility ends and it passes to Just Eat. However, even though they had no obligation to correct the mistake, they remade my food, free of charge, the only difference being I had to collect it. When i collected my order, I was told they had already lodged a complaint, about the delivery, with Just Eat. My food was hot and delicious so thank you for that! Finally, companies that rate customer satisfaction and their public image so highly are, sadly, quite rare these days so full marks to Pizza Express. They've always been my go to for pizza and that won't be changing! Thank very much for all your help today 😊

Went for a family dinner while at xscape. A family of 7 and we spend £160. The pizzas were put on the table and the waitress just walked away, no sauces, oils, parmesan, or even asked if we wanted any. It was almost rude service. We complained and the manager was surprised... Still no parmesan offered just the chilli oil we had to get ourselves from the counter. Deleted pizza express app and won't bother with the chain again. There are lots of places to eat and if basic service training is not given to staff then I will eat elsewhere where at least basic service is offered.

My friend and I live 80 miles apart and meet up approx. 3 times a year. We always use Pizza Express for our meal. We met Lee on our latest visit and really appreciated his friendly, but professional approach whilst dealing with our quite specific dietary needs. Thank you Lee.

We ate here after a day in York and a game of crazy golf last week. Our server Lee was fantastic from start to finish, he made us feel very welcome and catered to our every need. He was a credit to the team, I’d be quite happy eating here again if I’m passing through.

Got a voucher from work so opted for Pizza Express. My husband and I had a three course meal. didn't enjoy my starter of prawn as the prawns were a bit smaill and tough and one still had the poo line in it. However the mains (pizzas) and puddings were lovely and we had excellent service provided by Lee.

What a joke of place this is, that actually has the word pizza in the name of the establishment!! I was charged 12 quid for a limp soggy 9 inch excuse for a pizza that would have cost about 2 quid in any supermarket. Never again, for the love of jobe, if you are going to serve dreadful food like I had at least have the guts to try and make it the same size as say Dominos or Pizza Hut. The worst pizza I have ever been served and I will never fall for it again.

Once, have you tried a real pizza in Italy you will know, You may call this nan bread with a topping.

My friend and I have just been here for the first time and it was a great experience. The food was spot on and the service was just as good. We had some good banter with Lukas and beau who served us . it's much better than pizza hut I have to say and I highly recommend here. So thanks to the staff who looked after us. We'll see you again

Just would like to say we were beyond disappointed with our recent visit to your Castleford site on 16/02/23. We arrived for our booked table at 12:15 - booking reference B2J373045007244 to be told the site was cash only - no vouchers or debit cards could be accepted. I mentioned that the local cash machine charges for withdrawals and that was fine should they cover the charge - as I did not see this as my fault. The Lady seating people was polite, but said she would have to ask her manager first. The manager of the restaurant then came over and bluntly told us to walk over to J32 where there would be a free cash machine, a 15min round trip walk with a young child. Not your companies problem we were told - but ours to sort? Sorry but if this is the level of service on offer then we will not be visiting again. It left us without a meal on a busy day during the school holidays. Really poor service

Really happy with my experience, the restaurant was busy so service was a little on the slow side but that was OK, we had time to chat and weren't rushed to leave our table. I'm really glad I booked because the restaurant was fully booked. Our waiter Harry was a little diamond. Really impressed with him. All the food was hot and tasty. The only improvement I would make it the vegan options weren't easily visible on the menu. And when we asked a team member they weren't clear on the vegan options. Again this wasn't unsurmounable as we just showed what we wanted from the apps menu.

Charged £30 for a pizza was never told the price when asked when asked for the manger nothing but rude. The way she spoke to us was disgusting. Not having abuse like that In front of children. Wouldn’t even give me her name. Wasn’t interested in what we had to say at all was basically tuff. Think you need to change your manager

If I could give a zero stars I would. Absolutely shocking service. We pre ordered due to there being 16 of us. Half of the food we ordered didn’t come and half of the party ended up eating 45 minutes late. When it came to splitting the bill we thought this would be best to be divided this by 16 which should have been a simple task but they took payment from one of our party for a completely different table. The service was abysmal, really disappointing. We won’t be returning.

Visited with 2 kids on NYE - service was friendly, prompt and the food of good quality too. Good range of different soft drinks available for adults who are driving, and a decent kids menu and activities for the younger ones. Have eaten here on...

Took 10, 12 Yr olds for a meal following a tobogganing party … our tables were ready for the time booked so it was straight in. The service was excellent, the food was delicious and good value for money. Kyle looked after every need of the party and a great time was had by everyone.

Literally just popped in to see if they had a table for two. Of the two young members of staff stood manning the 'Wait Here To Be Seated' stand one of them looked at us and then turned his back on us. At this point a managerial-looking type floated across and all three proceeded to have a conversation, all whislt willingly ignoring what had now become a queue of people stretching out the door. Looked busy, but some basic etiquette and foundation level customer service would have seen us either asked for our reservation details or whether we were willing to wait. Not a word was spoken by the staff, they just turned their backs on us and carried on on their conversation. My advice, go to Bella Italia like we did. They may be busy and there might be a wait but at least they have the manners to tell you

We popped in at this restaurant for dinner on a northbound journey home from visiting family. We had the good sense to book in advance as at this time of year the restaurant was very busy. The food was absolutely delicious, of the usual standard we expect of Pizza Express. Most importantly though, we would love to thank Kyle for being a truly fantastic waiter. He was extremely friendly, outgoing and dedicated to making sure all customers felt cared for and comfortable. His personality was wonderful and he was extremely diligent. Particularly special to us was his care when my little sister struggled with the spice in her dish. After bringing her some water, he suggested that soy milk (he remembered she was eating a lactose free dish) would be most useful to her and brought a small cup of that.

Great service, great food and great pricing. My daughter is gluten free and loves the pizza here to.
