Chestnut Bakery in City of London, Westminster

Best customer service I received in a while. Hats off to Ishak h sat us down with a warm welcome and took really good care if us. The food was amazing as well and would definitely recommend their pastry.

I was on a day sightseeing trip and was in need of a coffee. Chestnut Bakery has beautiful coffee, the location was perfect. I didn't have any baked items but they all looked yummy.

Bought a selection of baked delights, and pastrami sandwich, all excellent, fresh, light, tasty. Superb customer service, the place was understandably so busy.

A warm and friendly welcome awaits you at this charming cafe with a really interesting choice of food and cakes plus great coffee. Prices very reasonable considering the area. We were 3 friends meeting for a catch up, while in transit. Definitely hope to return next time I am in the area. Well done and thank you for your patience, good humour and hot coffee!

This part of Belgravia is now my go-to when I get off the National Express coach at London Victoria. Took a punt on Chestnut Bakery this time. The display cabinets are stuffed full with a huge range of pasteries and cakes and behind is another wide range of freshly baked breads all great for taking home. The table service was random. I was asked what I wanted to drink before I had a chance to take off my coat, then the wait staff ignored me. Eventually I got in an order but had to wait quite some time for the coffee and toasted aubergine, mushroom and pesto sandwich to arrive watching those who came after me being served. Luckily I had time. When my breakfast arrived it was delicious. The coffee was to my taste and the toasted sandwich filled generously and good value despite London prices. I will certainly return here, even if just to take home some of their baked goods. The cafe has a nice ambience is clean and is obviously popular with locals.

Although ordered exactly at the same time, my wife’s flatbread was served close to 30 minutes after mine! This is the main reason for my 4 instead of 5 star rating . And the extraordinarily slow service was compensated partly by the exceptional quality of the food - especially the croissant! - and largely by the warm, gracious, professional and friendly attitude of our waiter Ahmad (or Ahmit? Apologies not sure about the spelling). And that is why my 4 instead of 2 star rating

Vicino alla stazione degli autobus, mi imbatto casualmente in questa Bakery, subito attratto dal fantastico profumo che ne usciva già a qualche decina di metri dall'ingresso. Non la solita colazione, ma prodotti dal sapore straordinario ratti sul momento con passione e amore, avvolgente profumo di pane fresco e gentilezza sono gli ingredienti di quella che per me è una delle migliori colazioni di Londra

I have loved this spot since they moved in - taking over the old Dominic Ansel bakery space. Their sourdough is spectacular (love the charcoal / olive one in particular) and their pastries to die for. Ever changing, but any version of croissant or their cinnamon morning buns or za'ater / guyere knots....delicous!

We stopped here our second night in London and were blown away by the excellence of the pastry and the service. The baker has just won an award for the best croissants in the UK. Go before late afternoon on the weekend because they sell out.

Chestnut is a must visit if you are in Central London. Amazing food and coffee for breakfast/brunch. Ambience is full of energy. Ask to be seated outside. You need to go early to find a good spot! I love Chestnut! It is not your normal bakery! Today I ordered melted cheese and an americano. 😋😋

Fantastic range of Bakery items. Really tasty too. We had a coffee and sweet pastry each, then returned the next morning to try a different pastry. Staff really friendly and if you pay online you can collect points.

Delicious food! Would totally recommend to everyone! The staff were super lovely especially our waitress I think her name was leen. (To our waitress, if you read this I hope you remember me by your nickname ‘the gorgeous tree girl’ 😂!) but the experience was great really cute place and the coffee was excellent!

So many amazing options to choose from at Chestnut Bakery. You really are getting quality here and some different choices you may not see elsewhere. I had the croque monsieur croissant, just gorgeous and my friend had a cinnamon swirl, also gorgeous. Don’t think you could be disappointed with anything you pick here! Coffee also great. Prices about what you’d expect to pay somewhere like this, little pricey but for the quality and size worth it.

I loved this cafe’s unusual middle eastern take on traditional baked goods, cookies, croissant sandwiches. Great coffee. It was the first place we stopped after an overnight flight while waiting for our Airbnb to be ready. We went back again later in the afternoon. It’s a bit pricey but worth it. Relaxing place for a break during non-busy times.

Good friendly service, scrumptious pastries, good atmosphere and playlist! Would recommend a quick bite here when arriving/departing Belgravia. Thank you ☺️

I did some research on best bakeries near Victoria Station as we had some time to kill before meeting up with family. The recommendations for this spot were spot-on. It was hard to decide what to choose because everything looked delicious and beautiful - works of art in some cases. Will definitely go again next time we’re in London!

I consider myself quite the pastry connoisseur (BMI of 30+) and I was pleased with not only the taste, but wide variety of both sweet and savoury pastries on offer, would recommend a stop to anyone in the area! Service was polite and helpful, Jackie especially was lovely

In spirit of fairness, letting you know the bakery is now open again - Feb 2023. They opened and closed a number of times Autumn due to mice infestations. (I was unable to edit my previous review to update it.) I haven't been in again and due to the choice in the area am unlikely to soon. If you go, hope the service has improved and is consistent. No mice in sight? Let us know, I'm curious.

They aren't having a facelift like insta says. Westminster Council have closed them due to the above. Sign is on the door i should have taken a picture but I was disgusted as I used the place regularly. Will eventually be on the council website. Maybe changing the staff daily helped hygiene to slip. Strangely run place.
