Chestnut Bakery Covent Garden in City of London, Westminster

I had a chocolate roll, very dry and not very tasty. You can find much better in any other bakery of the area, for £5.5 you would expect a good quality pastry. I wouldn’t go again.

We love this place. We sat down for breakfast and coffee on a rainy day, and the Chestnut bakery made it sunny. We had a Flat White and a Cappuccino, and for me, this is the best coffee drinks we had in London so far. The food was also great, and we will definitely come back again. The staff is also great, always smiling and very welcoming.

The service is very slow. You have to qoue on the front of the shop before entering. it is not organised. i waited 15 minutes till they took my order. Tge order served in a srange way. They forgot the drink and later they brought it and it was not tasety. They are very slow to deliver the reciept. I think the staff need to be trained how to manage custmers and they need to have priorities. Food is good but is not worth to waste that much time

Based on the reputation and recommendation I received, I expected to experience an unforgettable breakfast. Very disappointing. My order was an egg pie. It was once dry. It was just dough and eggs on top. There was no flavor. And the olive pie with cheese and tomatoes was good, but it was so salty that I could not finish it. The only thing I liked was the coffee. Even some tables are shared There are other options for breakfast that are much better.

Always a pleasure to have a cup of tea and some wonderful pâtisserie here. Alessandra was a very pleasant and attentive waitress.

Based on what we had, the food is below average.

All the pastries looked fantastic! Unfortunately I was quite hungry so settled for the Chicken Club sandwich, which was £7ish from what I remember. Massively disappointed! A very thin slice of sandwich chicken with some salad. The leaves were wet and clearly past their date. I couldn’t taste the chicken. However, the bread was fresh. Overall it was like eating some wet leaves in between two big pieces of bread. I could only eat half before giving up. Damn, I wish I settled for a pastry!

Amazing bakery in Central London, well worth the hype. We had the merguez sausage flatbread which was delightfully flavourful, and the tiramisu Danish. The karak tea and coffee were on point too. 5/5

Best food quality & best orange food

This bakery & restaurant has the absolutely best pastry and “breads” I have had ever!! Eye catching and mouth watering. I could have had everything if I had space in my tummy and time on my side. The service was a tad slow however it was more than made up by our delicious, pastries, baked bresaola and monkey bread, the subtly spiced bread on the side was an inspired revelation!!! Washed down with a pot of delightful camomile tea. The atmosphere was great nice and bright and we managed to get a seat near the large window upstairs a great back drop for people watching us while we watch them. As soon as I go back to Covent Garden I’ll be ready with an empty belly and lots of time all ready to indulge my all my senses with the big sweet and spicy flavours of Chestnut Bakery. Don’t hesitate to head down there you will not be disappointed in the slightest.

You must visit. I’m lucky enough to work around the corner! The food is insane, with a huge variety of savoury and sweet options. Plenty of spaces to sit inside or outside and the team that work there are beyond lovely! The vanilla bun is one of my fave picks 😜

My wife and I tried “the best of the best” on a trip across London, Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam. And these pastries at Chestnut Bakery were our absolute favorite by quite a bit. The Cardamom Croissant was very special. I want to move to Covent Garden so I can have it everyday. You can tell there is a lot of energy and love put into their work.

The food yammy .. the atmosphere so cozy .. We try the following from the menu: Chicken club sandwich Egg with mozzarella mushroom pecorino flatbread Baked olive Hummus .. Rosé lemonade And Yousef is Amazing in assistance if you don’t know what u eat ..

I did not rate the foods because we couldn’t even taste it. We went here a few months ago and liked the food. However in last 3 weeks, we tried to find a seat here 2 times. And even after they seated us, they didn’t give the menu for a long time. Yes, you can be busy. I do respect but giving the menu to newly seated customers is not hard. Because, all this waiting time means, not receiving already prepared food for next 45 minutes! In a weekend breakfast, 45 minutes waiting time is annoying. Even if we consider that your place is not good for long time sitting. Your food can be tasty but 1 person can not deal with 2 floor cafe service. We are not planning to visit your place anymore. Hope, you can fix these issues for others.

I was pretty excited to try their pasteries looking at the pictures. We visited on a Saturday afternoon, it was quite crowded. The view from seating upstairs was very nice. The cutlery was a little dirty and the milk that came with tea had some black spots like dirt. That put us off. We tried the pistachio icecream bun. It tasted a little old. Icecream was not fresh, it tasted more sugary and felt little stretchy. It was not the creamy rich pistachio i was hoping for.

Excellent coffee and service, we took cakes home with us, delicious.

I have been in the location yesterday and what I said is that food was good. althrough the service was not that good as expected. Be aware that in that place there are pickpockets. I was victim and lost my bag while dining there

Beautiful bakery with amazing options for pastries, bagels and coffee! We loved how pleasant the atmosphere there was. The haloumi bagel sandwich was amazing and the double baked pistachio raspberry croissant is mind blowing! Highly recommend both. Coffee was good too.

Delicious food, especially the cakes

Everything was good, especially dealing with staff except Parcetta dealing with me. He has no tactfulness in talking to the customers He should know that the customers has the right to talk to him and He should listen to the customer. He should also choose his words when he talks to the customers I didn't put a one star in the review so that others staff wouldn't underestimate their effort and work.

It was a great experience. We loved the food we ordered, and the staff was superb. We had the kimchi bread which was top 👌🏼as well as the zaatar twist and the almond and cookies croissant which were a delight. Thank you!

Instagram or TikTok ads can be deceptive My friend and I bought croissants and other sweets but they were really tasteless and dry and the coffee was bitter and tasteless.

The tiramisu danish is unreal. I want to go back and try everything.

Chestnut Baker is an absolute gem! The pastries are delicious, and the atmosphere is so cosy. A special shoutout to Simone for the exceptional service – he was friendly, attentive, and made our visit truly enjoyable. Highly recommend this bakery for anyone in the area!

Found out they were winners of uks best croissant 2023, so obviously we had to try! And it did not disappoint. Staff seemed a bit distracted for the cause of nothing. We were guest no 4, and they acted like the Bakery was full. Nice little bakery, easy to find, nice pastry. Ask for the menu before ordering 😊 you wont be disappointed

This bakery is one of my top two in London, offering everything you could crave. The coffee is excellent, and whether you're in the mood for something sweet or savory, you'll be well taken care of. The staff are welcoming, attentive, and the service is prompt. Be warned: the irresistible aroma that greets you at the door might have you ordering before you've even taken a seat—but it's a delightful test of human patience.

I've been in my seat for a long time and no waiter has cleared the table, given me the menu, asked me if I could order. I came to a barista and asked, and he was like with a very fierce face, feeling like scolding me, saying he would ask his colleague to go over later.

The location is excellent, and the space is quite spacious. However, the queuing system could use some improvement. Service could be enhanced, as guests often have to call the waitstaff for assistance. On a positive note, the coffee is fantastic! I highly recommend the raspberry pistachio croissant and the croque monsieur croissant for the baked goods and pastries.

Service is horribly slow. Waiters take forever to take the order, and even longer to bring the bill. Seating spaces are extremely noisy as well.

It was our first visit here and I have to say it was worth the hype. We had tea, butterscotch danish croissant and hot chocolate and it was to die for. The staff here is amazing as well especially Chebbo he was great with us and helped us look around the menu. Will definitely recommend this place !

it’s a very cute little bakery, and it’s one of the best ones in london, they have the best croissants that i’ve tried in london, they also have many stuffed croissants and other pastries that look delicious, the only downside is that it’s very expensive

We got the honey croissant, vanilla bun, and pistachio croisant. Everything was delicious but my favorite was the honey croissant! It was so tasty and flaky and super sweet!

We popped in for a quick lunch and it was amazing. Food choices are endless. You have sweet pastries, savoury sandwiches and pastry options, even some sourdough. We had honey flatbread and focaccia with turkey for lunch and took loads of other stuff with us. I really enjoyed their middle eastern/ classical flavour palette. One of the best bakeries I've visited! Definitely recommend to try. We did wait in a short queue before we entered. The staff was unbelievably welcoming and accommodating, everyone always acknowledged you and served efficiently.

We had to wait before to have a table but it was worth it! We drank an amazing chai tea latte and ate a delicious cinnamon swirl! I came back the following day and tried the grilled avocado just WAOUW! It is definitely my new favorite spot in London! I will come back next time I will be in the city!
