Very overrated! I have been following their social media for a while and thought it looked dreamy! It is the total opposite.. The place is DIRTY (sticky tables, toilets looking like a lousy nightclub at the end of the night, disgusting floor), the servers do not care, the famous pistachio & raspberry croissant doesn’t even taste like pistachio but they charge you £7 for it! Go somewhere else!

One of the best places for breakfast and snacks in London. Honestly, I feel that the food is very normal and always, God willing, the things are pure from them. Maybe I will come back a second time and try the egg or croissant varieties, because every time it comes out I am loyal 😡 But to be honest, their coffee is very ordinary and so is the food. My requests: Flat white 10/4 Cheese pie with honey 6/10 Prices: moderate

A cafe located in Covent Garden. There is a large pink wreath on its facade, which you can see from a distance. Its shop is two floors high. There is a restaurant and bakery on the first floor and there are also some seats on the second floor. , what you feel when you look at the store is that it is a fashionable coffee shop. You can sit here and relax, sipping a cup of coffee or eating your breakfast. We tried their tiramisu. It tasted very good and is worth recommending. In addition, we also tried their all day breakfast. The presentation was beautiful and the taste was very good. I saw on site that they also sell drinks other than coffee, but when we tried the coffee, the taste was average. Maybe we can only know the difference by trying other different flavors. But if you are looking for a place where you can relax, take in the scenery, and have a drink, this is a good choice.

Went for an afternoon treat and coffee, as I was recommend this bakery by many people before. I ordered a pistachio raspberry bun, which was OK, a bit dry. I get it's a touristy area, but pastries while interesting and with a bit more unconventional options are way overpriced. Chai latte was a mediocre, just ok, im sorry to say that. Also I was staying in, and I got coffee in takeaway cup despite not having asked for that - is that a standard or miscommunication? Staff seem friendly (especially those who were downstairs with the pastries) but a bit unorganised with availability of seating and so on. Decor ok, could use more smaller/medium tables instead of long ones

Friendly welcome, busy but was able to get a table upstairs. Ordered a cappuccino, flat white and a fresh squeezed orange juice. All were delicious! The pain au chocolate was flaky and gooey inside, the all day breakfast menu features a beef and egg cooked in a croquette called Egg & Bresola. This is so delicious! If that wasn’t enough, we shared the Croquette Monsieur which I have to say is one of the best I’ve tasted in my lifetime! Wow. Full stop.

I travel almost 2 hours to have the opportunity to get one and this time they were so flat and not crispy. I’m so disappointed honestly it makes me not want to be a returning customer. I’ve attached what it usually looks like vs what it looks like this time, so you can clearly see something was wrong. These are not cheap treats and I feel like I did not get my moneys worth

And it’s up there as one of my top bakeries in London, beyond the insta hype (and as a French person that’s saying a lot :). All their bakes are stunning; some particular faves of mine: - sweet: croissant cookie (def lives up to the hype, get it with ice cream if you want to be extra), honey toast, chocolate babka/bun (a real sleeper hit imo with the salt flakes), caramel+pecan twiced bake pain au choc (Nishad’s recommendation!) - savory: za’atar bun, mushroom danish, kimchi monkey bread, and if you’re sitting in get their flatbreads hot from the oven

Took ages for the drink to come as well (I would understand the place was busy, but was absolutely chilled). When sat at a table by the door, I asked if I could shut it as was quite cold ...waiter replied "actually not...because I am hot"... I mean... no comments... Very nice location. The pastries look sublime, however this is where the sublimeness stops. The sticky cinnamon roll tastes great, undoubtedly, but not like cinnamon. The tiramisu Danish also looks great and tastes nice, but not like Tiramisu. No notes of coffee whatsoever. The prices are also a bit unjustifiable for the product, around £5 per pastry which is standard for London, but Bageriet around the corner was cheaper and better quality to be honest. Good place for aesthetics, a sit in vibe, and to be fair good pastries, however you can find better. The flatbreads, on the other hand, are very good and I can recommend them certainly. Also if you sit in, there will be a service charge added on.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Chestnut Bakery and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted by the heavenly aroma of freshly baked goods and the warm smiles of the staff. The ambiance of the bakery is charming and inviting, with its cozy seating areas and rustic décor. It felt like stepping into a quaint European café, where time slows down, and every moment is savored. Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the pastries and baked treats. Each item on display looked like a work of art, and I couldn't resist indulging in a few (okay, maybe more than a few) selections. From flaky croissants to decadent cupcakes, everything was baked to perfection and bursting with flavor. But what truly sets this place apart is the passion and dedication of the bakers and staff. You can tell that each treat is crafted with love and attention to detail. The friendly service and personalized recommendations made my visit even more special. And let's not forget about the coffee! The rich aroma and smooth taste of their specialty blends perfectly complemented the sweetness of the pastries, creating a harmonious balance of flavors. In conclusion, Chestnut is a true gem in the heart of Covent Garden. Whether you're craving a morning pick-me-up or indulging in an afternoon treat, this bakery has something for everyone. I fell in love with their almond croissant its honestly the best in London and this comes from a croissant girly who tried insane amount of almond croissants across the world! the second favorite was the honey toast croissant I have eaten this 3 times back on my last trip this is how good it was! It is amazing and unique also comes with qaymak but honestly it is good as is. On the salty side I really loved Croque Monsieur which’s basically turkey (Halal) and cheese which was amazing 🤤. I chose this place for Mother’s Day and it was lovely! We all got different pastries and wow they were all so great. I’d definitely recommend the honey toasted croissant and the chai latte. Service was 10/10! Especially Nishad, thank you for your speedy service and great humour. Will be visiting again ;)

Given that it’s mainly a bakery I expected the quality of pastries to be higher than in an average cafe. We ordered the most expensive croissant from the menu - pistachio & raspberry which costs almost 7£. The croissant was most probably baked the day before… it was not fresh, rather it was dry, there was very little cream inside. Coffee was good. Quite disappointing…

A small pub for after work drinks with a very good menu of premium ales and decent finger food. Didn't try the full menu but felt promising.
