Excellent Pastries Absolutely love the savoury pastries of this bakery. Tasted so flakey and buttery, everything was made in perfection. So glad that they would heat the pastries for the customers. Personally I hate cold pastries. I was so impressed that they would put the prices and descriptions on the pastries. So that customers could make their own decision while queueing, no time wasting. You do not want every customer to ask the staff about the products(from what fillings to prices) while finally at the front of the queue. Otherwise the queue would be extra long and slow. The cafe was clean and tidy, despite it being busy. I would come back for other pastries when I pass by Convert Garden again!

I liked how well the service here was. They even found a Spanish speaker because they didn't understand something we asked, and the girl was super friendly. We tried a croissant that was delicious. Next time we'll stop there for breakfast, because this time we ordered it to go.

Oh, what can I say, I think it is so delicious that it is indescribable, especially the croissants with cream. Ebaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

The bread is so delicious, just like Korean bakery bread, and the store is not small, so it’s comfortable! The staff were so friendly and kid-friendly that I had a great time eating and resting with my two children. Thank you especially to staff Manish who soothed my children! I found myself by chance in front of this place while I was wandering around Covent Garden, I wasn't hungry but I went in anyway because the place seemed very nice, when I saw the marvels of pastries on display I convinced myself to get something to take to a friend's house. The bartender was super nice, she was Italian and it was nice to be served in my language (which rarely happens to me) and she recommended some pieces to try. I found everything very good and I absolutely recommend treating yourself to a breakfast or snack here!! Thanks to Alessandra for recommending these desserts to me!

Driven by the excellent reviews we tried this bakery twice in a row. Very cozy and also with plenty of seating. Nice open counter with quality products, even with some weekly specials. Good American coffee, although the cappuccino needed to be reviewed. Don't expect anything cheap, but it is worth considering given the location.

The Pastrami sandwich is a must try. The sourdough toast used is geourgeus. Everything is Halal. The service is very good and super friendly. Manish and Anandu were very attentive and friendly. Will drop by again and will probably try something else but the Pastrami is a must try (yes again)

Tried brunch at Chestnut Bakery and was pleasantly surprised. Their baked goods are excellent, with a great variety of sweet and savoury options. The frittata was delicious, and the coffee was surprisingly top-notch—easily up to specialty coffee standards. There was a long queue, but honestly, it was worth the wait.

Delicious. Honestly, the service was good. I never took anything from them. I didn’t like it. Today I took the cheese sandwich once. It was delicious, but it contained caramelized onions. We didn’t write that, but it was also delicious. We ordered manakish with cheese and thyme, sweet once, and the dough once sweet, and we ordered it exactly.

Hands down, some of the best food I’ve had recently! They use the freshest ingredients and make sure each pastry is done the right way. This bakery has such a cozy and charming atmosphere! From the moment you walk in, you feel right at home. The warm lighting, rustic decor, and comfortable seating make it an ideal place for a relaxed brunch. The wait was well worth, service was great and the bakery was super cozy and clean

We visited the cafe on Saturday the 5th of April 2:30pm. We were left waiting in the queue for 10 minutes until someone came to seat us upstairs which is already too long. The place was busy and it felt like the place was understaffed with only 1 person managing the floor upstairs and 1 downstairs. I felt sorry for the employees who were clearly overloaded and struggling to keep up with the demand of the busy lunch time. We sat upstairs & after a few minutes our order was taken. We order a mozzarella & tomato focaccia & the egg and mozzarella from the all day breakfast. The focaccia arrived fairly swiftly but was extremely soggy from the cheese. We then waited 20 minutes for the hot food, which was 4 slices of bread with a sad cheesy fried egg in a cast iron & a soggy under seasoned tomato. 0 out of 10. Not to mention that it should have arrived together at the same time with the focaccia. As it was getting busier another waitering staff joined to assist upstairs but they were still struggling. One of the supervisor who is bold, poked his head upstairs , looked around , did nothing & went back downstairs. The overall experience was bad. We were still hungry after the meal as we didn't finish it because it was no good so we ordered a plain croissant as the last alternative. The croissant was lovely , 10 out of 10. Overall I would say it appears this place is good for take away but not the best for a dining / eating in experience. The staff seem overloaded and the distribution of work is uneven. While people are queuing, waiting to be seated, the guy taking the orders for the "take away" had no orders and wasn't doing anything, he was even flirting with one of the customers. Meanwhile other members of staff were busy trying to manage the busy time. The overall good experince was bad, I think it was around £12.50 for the mozzarella and egg breakfast.. way to expensive for a few slices of bread with a fried egg and a soggy tomato if u ask me. I'd also like to mention the whole time we were sitting down there was a slice of pizza that was on the floor which the waiters were obviously too busy to pick up. I took it upon myself to go and put it in the bin. I also realised there were forks laying around on the floor which they probably were too busy to notice. Everyone was really nice but the food and service was a let down. My advice, if u want better service EMPLOY MORE STAFF.

The croissants here are good, buttery and flakey if you are looking for a good bite. Coffee is nothing to brag about here. Cute atmosphere, friendly service but a tad slow.

It is 100% worth stopping by this place, the pastry is EXCELLENT, we ordered Damián Tiramisú, Vanilla Bun and a Pain au chocolat and they are all highly recommended. Together with 2 coffees and tips it cost us £25 so also a good price

We had breakfast there on a Saturday morning, the place was crowded, so many people asking for takeaway sitting at the tables and enjoying their morning as a family. The exterior is beautiful. They have two floors, so before you think it's full and pass by, go in and ask because their coffees and croissants are well worth it. I ordered a latte and the almond croissant and it was delicious The service and attention was very good, the croissants melt in your mouth and crunch when you bite into them. Undoubtedly a very good option to stop for breakfast on the way to Covent Garden. We will repeat 100%.

Chestnut Bakery was recommended by a friend for a quick bite to eat whilst out in Covent Garden… and she was right, absolutely delicious food, the cinnamon roll was warmed up slightly which was great. I would definitely recommend that, my only gripe was that my coffee was too small… I wish I had ordered another! As we were leaving we noticed that there was a long queue of customers outside waiting for a table… now that is a good sign!

What a brilliant place! I found it by accident at 4:30 pm on a Monday. Too late for lunch, too early for dinner. We only ordered food to be polite but wow! Everything seemed a bit on the pricey side...until it arrived. All 5 of us loved the food and drinks we chose. Worth every penny. Absolutely delicious. Also, Nishad was fantastic. His customer service was exceptional. Above and beyond. We were an awkward bunch and he was so keen that we were all happy. You can tell genuine care when you see it! He made sure everyone knew what they were ordering, offered good suggestions and helpful advice. He then checked that we were happy with everything. He did everything he could to make our visit enjoyable. The other staff seemed great as well. I will be coming back with more friends soon, based on this great experience. Thank you Nishad. Genuinely great experience!

I truly can't believe that any of these 5* reviews are real. The service was dreadful considering how ridiculously overpriced everything in this shop is, even by London standards. The Crookie - which cost a whopping £6.75 to take away !! - was cloying and the cookie dough itself tasted stale (for reference, I went in the late morning, so this clearly isn't freshly made). The croissant was utterly nondescript. It really shouldn't have cost more than £4-5 maximum. If you really want to try a 'crookie', do yourself a colossal favour and buy cookie dough from literally anywhere else in London, combine with any basic butter croissant, and you'll have a far superior taste experience for a fraction of the cost. I certainly will not be returning to try any of the other pastries.

Lovely bakery and coffeeshop. Music and ambience were lovely, as was the service. To eat, we enjoyed the almond croissant, sticky cinnamon bun, club sandwich, vanilla bun, and za’atar gruyere knot. The star was the za’atar gruyere knot - complex flavor and excellent texture. Coffee was also excellent. I recommend the Spanish latte. Would absolutely recommend this spot!

A pastry that’s great for breakfast. Everyone in the group ate Kaymak + croissants, and it was incredibly sweet. If you like sweet food, I wonder who doesn't like it. However, the food was too sweet for me (I think it was due to the effect of honey), so it was uncomfortable to eat without coffee. Still, it's actually delicious!

The pistachio croissant is amazing, with a mixture of flavors, but the downside is that it gets intoxicating at 6 o’clock, which means you won’t catch it. Their coffee is excellent.

I visited the bakery and was served by Nishad—I received the best service ever! I tried the pastry, and it was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend visiting, and if you’re lucky enough to be served by Nishad, you’re in for a great experience!

The pastries look amazing, but that is the only good thing about them. I ordered a citrus and pistachio bun and it didn't taste at all and the price was insane, compared to other bakeries. I also ordered a chai latte which again, didn't taste like anything and it was highly overpriced. Don't waste your time coming here.

I stopped by Chestnut Bakery and tried their pastrami sandwich, and wow—it was incredible! The pastrami was smoky and tender, layered with crunchy pickles, caramelised onions on fresh, tangy sourdough. Every bite was packed with flavor. I paired it with their iced coffee, which was smooth, bold, and perfectly refreshing. A must-try!

This is best bakery in London in my opinion. I’m obsessed with their fresh sourdough sandwiches and their croissant cookie pastry. Also everyone working there is so kind to me! Especially Nishad who always has the brightest smile on his face. Highly recommend coming here when you’re in covent garden.

Breakfast with flavors very suitable for Arabs Chesnut is more than familiar with me, but this is the first time I try it. The menu is excellent and there is a wide variety. I tried them 1- Kaak with halloumi and tomatoes The sandwich is large at once, and its flavors are delicious and familiar. The only flaw is that the distribution of ingredients is not the best. Every part of the sandwich feels like a little ingredient. You only eat cheese and a little tomato and the like, but it tastes good. 2- Eggs with mozzarella Delicious eggs and not boring, I loved it once In general, the restaurant is well known. I'm sure there are better orders than the ones I took, and I would love to come back and try more things

Great breakfast sandwiches and breads.

I cannot recommend this place enough!! We popped in over a weekend and could see a queue was already forming so was unsure if we’d get in but the staff were so accommodating and we were seated within minutes despite the place being packed! The atmosphere was relaxed, the staff were friendly and the FOOD!! 🤤 I am had the best bagel I’ve ever tasted followed by what I can also describe as the croissant of dreams! Sooo yummy, will definitely come again.

Had hot chocolate and chai latte. Both drinks were very hot, light and milky. No flavours and wasn’t made correctly. They didn’t hear of babychino and just served cold milk. Their melted cheese sandwich was good but average. Croissant was perfect though. Table was sticky and had to ask for it to be cleaned. Not what I would expect for the price range. Don’t see how this is different to Costa. At least they can make a proper drink. Maybe it’s because it was Sunday but I won’t be coming again.

The most expensive almond croissant I’ve ever had—but also one of the best! I’m writing this review after a year of being obsessed with almond croissants, tasting them all over Europe, including in Paris and Copenhagen. This one truly stands out. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in London!

Honestly, best croissant I've ever had, better than France and anywhere else

Really uncomfortable experience. I went upstairs and it was busy, so I tried sharing the table with two men near a window. When the server came they exchanged words with each other in another language, and I was told they didn’t want me to sit there by the server. It was uncomfortable because clearly it was so busy eveyrone was sharing tables, yet the server chose to share that with me favoring this man. I felt uncomfortable and that it was sexist treatment. I ended up moving because I was uncomfortable and these two men left shortly after. Some other people sat down. Eventually the table became available again, so I moved over to be by the window—a server came by and told me it was “reserved”—nowhere do I see an option to reserve tables…. On top of that my croissant tasted oily & stale. It seemed they warmed it up in a microwave. Milk in my oat flat white was poorly steamed.

The vanilla bun was exceptional. As was the tea. Nishad was a very attentive waiter and I had the best view of Covent Garden. Would recommend.

It’s not the first time I go to Chesnut Covent Garden for their very nice pastries and coffee but this last time was even more special because we were served by Alessandra , she made our whole experience extra special, from the warm welcoming to the suggestions on the menu and also constantly looking after us. I wish there were more Alessandras out there! I would give more than 5 stars if I could.

The trio cookie was heavenly—delicious, rich, and the perfect treat for a study session.
