We visited the pub today, it was really busy the service was great. We ordered food the food came out very quick and tasted delicious. Highly recommend this place great location.

Tonight was worst experience at the Chequerd Flag that we have ever had. Usually the food is great and the service is good. I ordered the sharers vegan nachos. I said to the manager when delivered that I ordered the one for two people. Which I paid 10.48. he said the portions are measured, I was really not happy with the size. And honestly it would have impacted my view of the restaurant. I very rarely ever complain about a meal or service but as I was really looking forward to the nachos I had complained. The manager offered to take the portion away and make another one. I didn't want to waste the food, I was just disappointed in the portion size as I had 30 nachos or partial nachos and 28 beans for the chilly. But instead of wasting it I would eat it. The taste was really nice. A little bit later the manager came to the table with another nacho sharer. And explained that he wanted the customer to be Happy. I really appreciate him taking this step to turn around a situation that could have meant that I avoided the Cheque Flag in the future to one that I would rate as high customer service. I know there is srinkflation everywhere so I guess it is to be expected that you have reduced the recipe for the menu item...but maybe just a smidge more on the nachos. But thank you to the staff and the manager. And the cooks chef as it definitely tasted nice and they were willing to ensure that we were satisfied customers.

Came down to watch football, great atmosphere and food.

Medioka food, our steaks weren't cooked as we asked and were very chewy, however other meals were nice, some of the drinks were not as ordered, and needs redecoration as the carpets are ripped to shreds and coming up in multiple places, feels a bit grubby when you are sat in there

The warm welcome the manager was very friendly and very professional and couldn't do enough for us the food was OMG delicious I felt so full but will definitely return every Sunday

I booked 22nd not realising I had tapped 23rd, all turned up for meal and of course wrong date. Lady who said they had no tables to accommodate as we had booked for next day. So I went in and explained the situation checked with lady and said there was nothing available ,so went and said to family let's find another place just as leaving manager came out and said there's a booth available which would accommodate us ,brilliant service from the manager lady looked like she had to swallow her pride. Excellent service and from the young lady who served us.

For the second time we had an unsatisfactory experience. The food and service is no longer up to an acceptable standard. The food was either tasteless or burnt and the we felt ignored from the moment we sat down. It's very disappointing because it used to be so lovely here.

An other Brilliant service, food was great, i would definitely recommended chequered flag.

I went with 2 friends and their dog. They were stopping off as part of a long journey so we needed a quick meal. We received an excellent welcome and our drinks and meal were delivered promptly as requested. The presentation of the meal was first class and lovely to eat. The meal was excellent value for what we paid.

We have visited the place with the family👪 for Sunday roast. Very short distance from Brackley town. 👷‍♀️ Staf were lovely, smiley and very helpful. 🍺🍷A great variety of beers and wines. 🍲 The food was tasteful and reasonably priced, thinking of the average prices around Brackley There are also kids menu options. 🅿 There is a free parking area right next to the pub 🌳🌸🌺 There is a lovely garden with outdoor seating and a lot of space for the kids to play around.

Recently moved to the area and decided to visit The Chequered Flag for a meal after a long tiring day moving up from London. We were welcomed warmly and seated to a table. There was plenty of choice but we both opted for the fish and chips! What we both really enjoyed the most was the outstanding service we received from our waitress, Lily. She was extremely polite and friendly and really did go that extra mile to make our experience pleasurable. This will definitely be a regular of ours from now. Thank you.

Great find! Me and my partner have just recently moved to the area and were looking for a great place to call our local. Was lovely being able to sit in the garden and enjoy our drinks 🍹. The food was really nice and very good portions! And I have to mention the waitress lily, she was very bubbly and very helpful finding us a table outside 👍

I haven’t been to The Chequered Flag before as I don’t live local but was recommended it whilst in the area recently, and I’m very glad it was! There was a great variety of dishes on the menu which was all affordable prices (along with the bar prices!!) The staff were all very friendly especially my waitress Lily. She was a very polite efficient young lady and always had a smile on her face. Quite honestly It was lovely to see a younger generation working hard taking pride in her work 😊

Great food choices on the menu with both food and drink at an affordable price. The waitress - Lily, was very efficient, friendly and polite, nothing was too much trouble. Plenty of car parking spaces and lovely seating outside if the weather's good!

Took my 2 grandchildren for lunch today. Attentive friendly staff, great kids menu, indoor & outdoor play areas, value for money food, well prepared and served. Value for money and well worth a visit.

Very poor quality pPedigree , served on Monday evening...quite acidic. Drinkable but not to the standard that I expect .

Just another pup!! Went for a three person meeting. Went up three times to the bar to get drinks but no one came to serve us, yelled out, still no one came, so cut our meeting to the minimum time, (1hour) and left.Not impressed

Food was good and good value for money but I was overcharged for half a pint of soda and lime. Wine was cheaper!

Wouldn't go back. Shame because it used to be good & serve nice food. The cocktail wasn't correct either

The current landlord/landlady have raised the general standards immensely. Two adults and three children ate meals. All good except too limited on vegan/vegetarian menus like no quorn sausages or other products which are extremely popular! Service good. I’d go again if more to choose on menu as above!

Food was pricey, not a lot on the plate for the price. I had chicken and it was like cutting rubber. My reply to the reply from the manager. It's a pitty your chief can't cook chicken without it being so tough. And the amount of food on the plate for the price was not value for money. They won't be seeing me at this pub again because I was passing through from the south of the UK to Lincolnshire. My 2 stars will remain. Maybe for future customers they will learn from this.

Had chicken burger n chips with side salad. Very nice only one thing missing was a Newcastle brown ale. Landlord said he get a creat in for me.

Sofia was FANTASTIC! We had a wonderful night having some drinks and relaxing in this wonderful pub. I would definitely recommend visiting the chequered flag any day of the week. The staff are lovely and very hardworking.

The new owner gaz is brilliant and his cousin donny is always a laugh. Bar staff are great and you always get a smiley service. Overall amazing place and wouldn’t go anywhere else as much as I do here

Food was cold and not the best quality

Overall I wasn’t impressed unfortunately. The pros were the tables were clean, it wasn’t crowded at lunch time and the food came out fast. The woman who served the food was friendly. For the cons… The customer service of the bartender was terrible he didn’t seem like he wanted to be there, my glass of water had a few pieces of hair in it so I asked for a new one. He simply took the glass and gave me a new one and said nothing. I also noticed the bar itself and the refrigerators down low looked pretty dirty. I would suggest if it is slow (as it was when I was there) do a deep clean. Maybe it was an off day so I will go back and try again another day.

The food was ok. However there was no dressing on salad and The silver where was dirty. It wasn't very crowded. They were playing good music. And the service was ok. The restaurant however smelled bad and there was no soap to wash your hands.

New build pub prices reasonable would not yous as a local.

The decor was dated and dirty felt more like a working man's pub rather than a family pub, the food was terrible I had a pizza that was raw in the centre and other people in the restaurant were sending there's back too for being uncooked or wrong toppings will never be visiting again

I did suggest to my group that this place had a bit of a rep, but decided to give the benefit of the doubt, it's been a while, and figured id see how it goes. Was proven right, for a 45 minute wait for overdone burgers, then another 45 for cold, still frozen crownies and waffles from across the road? These were after watching our table of six's deserts coming out one every 20 minutes. Honestly not acceptable at all, I can't recommend people come here, as a chef myself if I served this standard of food I'd have my behind pulled apart.

Ordered 10 meals, 1st people had finished eating by the time last meals came out, hardly anything available on menu. Some of the food was cold. Very poor service.

beer and cider ok. the food we wanted to order they never had. Even though there is a Tesco over the road. So we had a Chinese instead.
