Greyhound in South Northamptonshire

Went for a few drinks on a lovely summers evening and had the best time being looked after fantastically well by both Hilary and Izzy who could not do enough for us all evening. We thoroughly recommend the Greyhound for drinks and/or food as well as the fabulous atmosphere. Thank you Guys

Overall good, easy to book and alter booking online, pretty good service although we could see our drinks sat on a he bar for 5 minutes or so before they arrived, food was good, very tasty and nicely presented. One downside was that they couldn’t accept vouchers due to some problem at “head office”. How convenient! As I had a blue light voucher for 15% that could have made quite a difference on a £130 bill….such is life! Overall a nice pub with good food

We came for a family meal and were served by Kodie. Food was good, great atmosphere and staff - we will be back, a definite notch up compared to other pub chains.

Lovely Sunday afternoon meal. Sat in the beautiful garden. Which is kept so well and tidy. The beef rib was delicious. Lovely service From Anton and the team. Anton went above and beyond for us today. Such a lovely chap with exceptional service. Thank you to Tom behind the bar who helped me take our drinks to our table. Each time I ordered. Will definitely be back very soon.

Loved the late afternoon lunch with my friend. The creamy garlic mushrooms were absolutely divine and the service was great. The lovely Kodie was gracious and ensured that we were taken care of. Definitely coming back and look forward to sitting outside in the summer!

My daughter and I ended up in the beautiful garden at the greyhound after a sunny bike ride. We were welcomed by friendly attentive staff, Isobel, Dan, Lyndsey, Aidan and Anton were all amazing! My daughter enjoyed a build your own sundae, the garden looks particularly atmospheric for this time of year, with fresh plants on all outside tables and a neatly kept garden. Looks almost as good as it did at Christmas!!

Really nice Sunday lunch at reasonable price and accepts blue light card.staff are friendly and food arrives quick and hot .not so good at making a lemonade limeade as used soda water which was not very nice.overall raleally nice place to dine.

We were visiting the area for one night and decided to have a meal here. The pub looked inviting and has a good garden for the summer. Food was great, good size potions and tasty. Kim was friendly and attentive. We would definitely visit again.

Very disappointed,the beef was nice,potatoes hard and full of oil,the diced carrots appeared not fresh,the Yorkshire pudding was ok,the cauliflower cheese was unpalatable.Ive never had stuffing with roast beef it really doesn’t go.The food was also lukewarm.I’m sorry but won’t be going again.

Fantastic! We visited at Sunday lunchtime and the pub was busy and car park nearly full at 1pm. The welcome was lovely, the service was slick and efficient and the food was hot fresh and delicious. We couldn’t fault anything, the whole experience was such a positive one I would heartily recommend a visit. Many thanks to Anton and the team for delivering such great customer service.

Pre booked for 3 of us. Lovely service great staff shame about the food was disappointing for the price. Roast potatoes very dry like they'd been reheated. Cauliflower cheese was in some sort of pale runny fluid very bland not cheesy at all. Couldn't even find any cheese. Daughters pork loin was very dry.

This is second time we have eaten here and both times, the food has been excellent. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It has a very cosy atmosphere. I would highly recommend eating here.

We came here on a Monday evening for some Mother and Daughter time. We were served by Kim and Lindsay :) We had a lovely experience, the food was delicious and the service by the beautiful ladies was fab, making sure we had all we needed and in good time..Thank You again!!

A wonderful lunch this afternoon, with fantastic service from Hillary. The menu has something for everyone, including my friend who is a celiac. They had a great value set menu, which two of us chose from. I had the steak pie, and it didn’t disappoint. Beautiful pastry, and well filled. Spacious car park, and a large garden.

Booked a Sunday lunch hadnt visited for a few years Standard of food was very disappointing for the price £75 for 2 adults with no starts and 1 desert our meals came with no yorkshire puddings and no cracking with the pork so had to chase The staff were good to sort out for us once we found someone The pub has a good atmosphere and the table was good just where we asked for but overall we both agreed we probably wouldn’t go back which was a real shame because at one time it used to be our go to pub maybe it was just an off day!

We visited the Greyhound on Saturday 8th February, with 3 friends. We were served by a lovely lady, called Angela, who I must say was a credit to the Greene King chain. Angela was pleasant, very helpful, and made us feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for Angela and she ensured we enjoyed our time at the Greyhound. We will certainly be back again in the near future. Hopefully, we will see Angela again also.

The staff were very helpful with allergy information and spoke to me whilst looking at my daughter. Usually, as a minor, not many restaurant staff have engaged with her about her allergies. This was lovely to see. Thank you, Georgie and Izzy

Came in for lunch, was seated immediately by Ange who couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. Meal was delivered quickly and was delicious. We'll definitely be back - can we have Ange again please?

I would have loved to have given higher as the food was actually really lovely. However, on arrival, after waiting to be seated for a few minutes, I headed over to the bar. A couple of staff members were watching videos on their phone, oblivious to the customers waiting. After a couple of efforts to get their attention, I was eventually seated. As mentioned, the food was good, and the value was bang on. However, maybe some more attention to customers wouldn't hurt.

Our group of 4 had breakfast and 2 drinks. Food was great, breakfast menu overall very reasonably priced. Hats off to Lyndsey who managed the whole of front of house on her own for a few hours whilst keeping her customers happy, very professional. No doubt we will be back in the future👏

Lamb shank was bloody amazing, steaks cooked to perfection and hostess Kim was brilliant.

Went for (pre-booked) Sunday lunch on my own. Very friendly front of house. Was put at a nice table away from the door (as requested). The restaurant is an attractive space. Service was speedy. Had the Roast Rump of Beef - very tasty, though had to request an extra (tiny) jug of gravy! Veg were generally ok, though the cabbage was unfortunately not well drained, leaving the plate swimming in water, spoiling the roast potatoes a bit. Yorkshire was excellent. Thought the beef would be more tender, but it was tast y, Good value overall, and very good service. I've been in the summer too and the garden is pleasant, though with a bit of gardening effort it could be outstanding. Nice that it's dog-friendly too.

Lovely Sunday lunch. Good value for money & great service. Our waitress Angela was super lovely and really made our meal special.

We had to find someone to take our order after waiting for half an hour. It was another long wait for the food to arrive. We weren’t the only ones this happened to and we could only see 2 staff on for a busy lunch time. It will take us a bit of convincing to return any time soon.

Lovely catch up with the girls tonight! We meet up here as much as we can, as the food, and the service is always spot on. Hillary and Silvie are fabulous!

Visited tonight to take advantage of the “2 for £20” I’d been sent via the mailing list. As always, the service is fantastic. I really warm welcome from Hilary, and, superb service from Silvie. For us, it’s lovely to come back to a place time and time again, and the staff are the same, and they know what you’re having to drink, sit you at your favourite table and make genuine conversation. The food tonight was lovely. Piping hot, and plentiful. We love coming here, and will definitely be back! Well Done Greyhound!

Whilst the meat and Yorkies were first class, the vegetables were poor and as for the roast potatoes !! I’d rather have had Aunt Bessie’s and they’re bad enough. Definitely not ‘home cooked’ , pale, insipid and tasteless. Those who had desserts loved them and they looked very nice.

Ate here for the first time this evening for my sons birthday, the food was delicious and the service good & anton our waiter was very friendly.

I hate not giving a decent score. But when you wait 2 hours for average food you have to be honest. Service was ok. If a little generic. Overcooked chicken strips. Looked it and guess what they were. Sunday roast meat was good but rest was poor. Carrot and swede mash hadn’t seen a masher. Was just cubes. Yorkshire was decent though. Place was also dirty. Cobwebs all over the windows. Great location and some staff were friendly. And to be fair for Sunday in January was quite busy. Wouldn’t rush back though unfortunately

Had a wonderful breakfast with a fabulous choice of meals. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Definitely will recommend to friends and family.

Turned up for a pint, and decided to have a meal, we have had a lovely few meals there before. Very disappointed today, both meals served luke warm and my wife's meal was not what she ordered. I refused to eat mine, which was a shame as it looked very nice, just cold, apart from the chips. After saying to the waitresses about my wife's being wrong and cold she brought back the plate with the additional meal with the meat that was ordered originally, still luke warm, my wife was starving hungry and ate what she could, I left my last guinness there as it wasn't great, the first one was lovely. Such a shame, only two staff working, one behind the bar and one serving. Perhaps we were unlucky today, but it does put you off going again.

Always great meeting friends here when I visit Milton Malsor. I wished I had a local like this - on the other hand probably best I don’t!

The Bartender Dan was absolutely incredible, top class service, top class beverages. Really knows how to connect with the people. Thanks Dan a night to remember.

The food was nice, but being seated by the door in December is a no no, why this was allowed to be open this time of year is ridiculous. It spoilt the evening tbh. I could see the other diners expression said the same.

When visiting friends in Milton malsor, this pub is always our go to for lovely food, it’s cosy, everyone is friendly. Kim made sure we were looked after and Maisie was always smiling and polite when serving our food. We look forward to our next visit. Hilary (the fan lady) provided much needed assistance during my tropical moments! 🪭

Had to retract my last review. The beer is expensive at 6.70 however after today's Christmas dinner which was 80 a head I am really pleased. To be fair you pay for the experience and it's a lovely pub. And today's Christmas dinner was worth every penny. Of course we will be back. It's a great place. Best Christmas dinner I've had and I always enjoy the meals we have when we go throughout the year. The beer is pricey though so I go drinking elsewhere but if you want a classy meal go here.

Always have a good experience in this pub. The staff are friendly and happy to help. Dinner was good arrived hot and cooked well. The bar is well stocked and i can always get a beer. Always a pleasure.

We come for the breakfast with santa 🎅 breakfast was very good and great service from Kim. Santa was fantastic, very jolly and interactive with the children.

Now when I heard it as a pub I thought normal pub food.BUT it is AMAZING the food the lot

The food was good but the service was extremely slow. It took 20 minutes for the waiting staff to take our order, then it was another 30 minutes until we received our meals. We subsequently requested the dessert menu (for which we had to attract the attention of the waiting staff) which took another 15 minutes or so to arrive and the desserts then came 20 minutes later.

Work Christmas gathering good festive menu plenty of options for all tastes also flexibility between festive and normal menu for fussy eaters in our group Food great cooked to perfection service excellent especially Ange very friendly and accommodating

Dan was really lovely and very helpful with service. Food came quickly and drinks were great. Dan also suggested some alcohol free options for my pregnant partner which she loved!
