Food was brilliant best Indian I’ve had for a while food was cooked perfectly can’t wait to come back

Chennai Lounge is my favourite Indian restaurant which isn’t particularly local to me but I take my family there because the food is just so good. If you like hot curries I’d recommend the vindaloo which is perfect for hotness and flavour. Everything they cook here is a step above most others, tandoori chicken, Bombay Aloo, Dhansak. The owner is always smiling and accommodating even when he’s rushed off his feet.

Myself and partner had a meal here last night whilst staying in the area for safari park. We stopped by without a booking after searching Google! Wow! The welcome, the service, the food, the atmosphere...Perfect! Thank you all so much! Will definitely return when next in the area!

Definitely the best curry house in bromsgrove. From someone who lives in redditch I'm quite happy to travel to this curry house even tho there is plenty of choices that I have been to in redditch. The staff the food and the vibe is brilliant. If you have not been here before it's a must try.

Had our first takeaway in months last night and quite honestly it was fantastic. The chicken in all dishes was amazing, succulent and tasty. Plenty of it to finish off today. Four of us ate and we all really enjoyed it. Definitely recommend. Sorry we haven't been in for ages but we've been otherwise occupied. Adele

I never use any other Indian restaurant now, either for eat in or take out. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Regular customer Quite disappointed with the food. We always have curry from this restaurant and never had a problem except for the last twice. The madras is very over spiced (tastes more like a vindaloo) it used to be lovely but we have decided to not have this anymore. The chapati was under cooked and very doughy, again these used to be quite nice and thinner. The pilau rice tasted scented again used to taste nice. Not sure whether to change restaurants now as we thought the last curry might have just been a one off but to have two rough meals signals to us that this is not the restaurant it used to be and so will look elsewhere for curry in the future.

Terrible service. We waited an hour for our main course. The chicken was tough and not very tasty. The Jalfrezi was not exceptional. Not a comfy atmosphere, more like a canteen. Prices were reasonable.

The best Indian restaurant in Bromsgrove without a doubt! The staff are always welcoming and the service is second to non. The food is delicious. Never had anything other than perfect food. Takeaways are always hot and fresh. If you haven’t already make sure you try it!

Starters are really nice. Platters to share are a good deal. Had a lovely Valentine’s Day dinner. Good sized portions. One of the best Indian restaurants in this area, would rank in the top 3 easily. Booking is advised. Sufficient parking space. Wasn’t too crowded.

Honestly this place is the best Indian I have been to in such a long time. We travel for about 35 minutes from Sandwell to this restaurant. The staff and food are spot on and I can’t find a fault at all.

Food was absolutely atrocious, chicken korma looked like fake korma jelly, the naan bread was burnt, the coconut rice was dry. My husband ordered the mix meat platter and it was so disgusting, the prawn taste like rat meat and looked nothing like prawn, only god knows what kind of meat that was. The lamb was tough and under cooked. shortly after eating my husband's stomach started hurting which I wasn't really surprised. Overall I'd never eat from this place again.

Usually my least favourite takeout / eat in is an Indian, however these guys are top of my takeout / eat in list... Stunning food, so flavoursome, different selection of choice to your usual. Thanks guys 😀

Their curries are generally flavoured Mild, at least by my standards, but the naga curry I thought was excellent with a garlic and coriander naan.

Amazing food, and a great discount on collection. Wouldn't go anywhere else for the best Indian food.

Had a table booked on Thursday 12th August. Fantastic food at sensible prices . Great range of chefs specials and very friendly staff. I can't recommend this restaurant strongly enough. It is definitely the best Indian restaurant I have ever eaten in.

What a wonderful find. First of all the staff were so welcoming and made us feel so comfortable, nothing was to much trouble. Then the food.... authentic Indian cuisine, good choice and good portion size. Value for money and we will definitely be back.

Our first visit to this restaurant, recommended by my son. The staff were welcoming and offered attentive service. The food was exceedingly good although not the cheapest it was fresh and flavoursome. We live close to Lye so something realise what prices others have to pay for decent Indian food. This is a drive out into the countryside which we'll definitely do again and highly recommend you try it. Excellent choice too 👌

Overall good experience effiicient service and reasonable quality food although maybe for the dining in prices were a little on the expensive side meals for 3 with starters and main courses came to nearly £90 inc 2 lagers and 3 soft drinks

Our car broke down today just outside this restaurant, after a 2 hour wait for the AA to get us back on the road we decided to order take out and oh what a find we were not disappointed, the food was amazing and the staff were so friendly. This isn’t a local restaurant for us, but we will be returning and we would recommend you give this a try.

What a brilliant first meal out of lockdown. It was the first time going to Chennai Lounge after driving past it for a year saying we need to try it. I’m gutted I haven’t been sooner. Firstly I had spoken to them on the phone a few times before my visit and they were so friendly. The service was amazing and the food even better! Can’t fault it at all. It will definitely be my go to curry from now on!

We haven’t eaten here before, but found it on the just eat app. I’ve tried a lot of curry houses and this is by far one of the best. Everything was perfect. We had a Rogan josh and a korma. Both were beautiful, as were the sides and starters. Was slightly low temperature but always expected on a busy Saturday. I’d 100% recommend!

Me and my friend went for a meal today. Restaurant was empty and cold. But the waiter did put an extra heater on. Food was nice, well presented.Only problem we had was that 1 of the waiter was very rude! Firstly, he cleaned and mopped the toilets at around 9pm expecting us not to use them, my friend went and nearly slipped. Then the toilet lights were switched off. We had to switch it back on. In the gents the the handwash was finished, so i went into the ladies to wash my hands as their were nobody else in the restaurant. The rude waiter told us off for washing our hands there in a very rude and unacceptable manner. We travelled 20 miles to go there, NOT AGAIN!

We came here for my birthday on a recommendation from friends and I’m glad we did. The smell when you enter the restaurant is beautiful so I knew it was going to be good. We had poppadoms, starters and mains. Everything was lovely. I personally had the onion bhajis followed by a Rogan josh which I really enjoyed. I couldn’t finish it all so I took the rest home. Also, it’s not just the food that is good. The staff are awesome, they are the cherry on top of the cake, we had a really good chat with them in between courses and they are genuine friendly people. We can’t wait to visit again!

Amazing food and by far the best in Bromsgrove! The service is awesome. I would highly recommend for a date night, birthday meal or even the cheeky night in takeaway.

1 Chicken & 1 Lamb Vindaloo both with extra chilli's was brilliant. Been trying a few places in Bromsgrove and none of them are this good. Not to much oil and not watery either. Plus the order was correct. Definitely will be trying again. Just hope there is consistency as this is by far the best in the Bromsgrove area Thank you

Very disappointed I visited this evening and I had a table booked for 7 people at 7pm. I arrive at 6.55pm to thej have to wait until 7.30pm to be seated as they had no table i booked over a week prior as it was a birthday meal. It was 8.30pm before my child actually got her meal Then had to wait half an hour for an ice cream. I was then given the bill after waiting 20minutes for it to be charged extra for one of the starters. I can not fault the food its amazing but the customer service tonight was really not good. I understand you were busy but to have been seated at a 4 person table for 7 people we all had to squeeze together. Not once were we asked if we were okay or checked on only when clearing the table would anyone talk to us. When sitting down at 7.30pm and placing the order for drinks we also asked for the children's meal as it was getting late and that still took an hour to come out. Shame that this place has amazing food but I wont be returning..

Eat here last sunday on a stopover on a trip to kent from scotland first in at 5.30 pm a l8ttle wait and not cheap but food excellant and unrushed service. Best indian food i have had for a long time would definitely visit again if in area

Had quite a few meals from here over the years. Definitely the best in Bromsgrove and good contender to one of the best Indian restaurants in all of the Midlands area. Certainly different from most other Balti-houses in the region, more of a restaurant than the often cafe-like feel of others around the region. Staff have always been great with me and my family.

I have just had my first takeaway during the lockdown. Chennai did not disappoint. I had the chicken tikka balti and it was amazing. Even better than I remember. Well done to all the staff who have clearly put measures in place to protect customers. I wish you all the best throughout these difficult times.

Ordered from here tonight as my regular place is closed... must say I was horrified how rubbish this food was.... chicken tasted like rat, I found endless hairs in my food n all in all wish I had cooked myself bean on toast instead of wasting money on this poor effort of food..... only good thing was they turned up wen they said they would... never again..

The food was the same standard as eating in. Two great starters of mixed tikka and chicken tikka. I had a lamb supreme and the meat was so soft and the flavour was really rich and full. My wife had the chicken supreme and enjoyed her's just as much. The accompanying rice and chapati were both perfect.

We have a takeaway every Saturday evening and the quality is consistently excellent. Could do with a more mint sauce with the popodums! :-)

I have tried many Indian restaurants in and around Bromsgrove, and the Chennai Lounge is bar far the best.Great food, excellent service, friendly staff and a nice environment all contribute to a fantastic dinning experience.As the restaurant is so popular booking is recommended.This is now my regular Indian restaurant.

Always have such a wonderful meal from here. Food is fresh and flavourful and it's always a pleasure to eat here. Cant wait to visit again.

An amazing curry house, I’m very critical towards curry’s and I’ve been here many a time. They are yet to disappoint. Great food and even better staff.

As an internal customer the food here is amazing and so is the chef and the front of house manager.

We haven’t found another Indian that will make a Chicken Sag just the way we like it. The staff in this restaurant will do their best to accommodate your request. We have now become regulars and it would seem that so have many others as it’s not unusual to see the same faces when we dine.I look forward to the end of the week and seeing the friendly faces of both Abduls, both Ahmeds and Simone. When Yoself helps out he enjoys banter with my husband.This restaurant is managed well and Daddy Chef is the best whilst he speaks little English he makes our Friday tea one to look forward to.For people just outside the area In the summer there is a peacock which is regularly seen elegantly strutting around the car park and outside eating area.Plenty of parking and discounts available on deliveries - if you haven’t tried Chennai then do I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

Very nice welcome. Beer on tap, Cobra. Always a bonus. Starters very tasty Aubergine very good. Mains..clean plates says it all. Did us some special curry chips. wow👍 Toilets clean. Would defo visit again.

I booked a family meal for my wife's birthday. One man greeted me and was very polite and accommodating. Once we sat down the top table cloth was slightly dirty but the bottom table cloth was heavily soiled with what looked like left over food. I politely asked if the cloth could be changed, which they agreed to do, but when they eventually came they only offered to change the top table cloth which was the cleaner of the two and leave the dirtier one on. It was at this point my wife decided to leave and my son girlfriend also felt uncomfortable staying. As we left the man I had spoken to apologised to me which I appreciated but as I carried on walking another employee said " what you saying sorry for, you don't need to apologise". That comment is now the reason why I'm writing this negative review. I'm sure they don't care but I will never return to this restaurant and will recommend people stay well clear of this un-hygienic restaurant 😡

Excellent, just what we needed, a table, despite not booking, lovely genuine, smiling faces, & nice friendly conversation. (With the waiters) Very tasty food, no pressure to 'hurry up' or 'wondering where the waiters have gone'. Perfect. X

Me and my partner come here at least once a month! We love it and no other Indian compares- whenever we go anywhere else we always say ‘not as good as Chennai’. Staff are lovely and welcoming and regularly they do 3/4 course deals which are brilliant value for money!

When I'm in the area I always head here for my evening meal. The food is fantastic and the service is very friendly too.

We were tiered and hungry and didn't know the area we were in the area for the day we are from Milton Keynes we drove past and thought we would try foe a table. We were lucky to get one as the resturant filled up quickly.

Used to work as consultant to this restaurant but it changed hands and went down the pan although been a long time since I was there decided to have another look what a pleasant surprise to find not only had the restaurant been upgraded the food was the best Indian meal in the area just like good home cuisine.Abdul and his staff really made us feel welcome and can only say thank you for good night I you have not tried it for a long time get back its perfect am already planning my next visit

Heard mixed reviews about this place.... some a little crappy and some absolutely amazing so we thought we should give it a go for our Saturday night takeaway, delivery was about 15 mins late which isn’t too bad, lamb tikka starter and chicken pakoras both very yummy, mint sauce and tamarind yummy, keema rice was good, lamb pathia was very tasty but the pot was only half full...... every takeaway I have, I have half on the evening and enjoy the other half for lunch the next day but there just wasn’t enough, for the price I paid I thought I’d get a little more curry than I did.... it was like they made enough curry for one takeaway box and just split it into two

We normally have a curry night every week. We try many different Indian Restaurants but by far this is one of the best Indian restaurants around.

If you haven't tried the Chennai Lounge you have to try it. Brilliant meal and brilliant staff. The king prawn pathia and the peshwari naan is the best ever :)

We recently booked a table for 12 on a Saturday night for 7pm. Big mistake. Chennai is popular and just couldn’t cope with the influx of customers. We waited forever for our main course and while most of the meals were tasty the portions were very small. Again we waited ages for the bill and when it eventually arrived hand written no-one could understand it and prices didn’t match the menu. It was 10.15 when we finally left and sadly we wouldn’t go again. It was chaotic, seems like a good business that requires streamlining. The waiters did their best but appeared overwhelmed.

Four of us visited this Indian restaurant last Saturday evening, on entering we were welcomed & immediately seated at our table. Service was helpful, fast & efficient, the menu selections are excellent, with some more unusual choices. All the usual drink types were available & are of good quality

Have been eating at Chennai for the last 5/6 years and can honestly say I haven’t had a bad meal. In fact I’ve always had a delicious curry and despite trying other Indian restaurants we keep coming back to Chennai.

Popped into the chennai lounge a few times now and it's always 10 out of 10. The staff are brilliant and helpful. The food is always at its best.Best place around. They recently had a bollywood night with bollywood dancers which was fab! Its now under new management and it's even better! If you haven't tried it you should!

We have been using the Chennai for 14 years and have never been disappointed. It’s now under new management and the food is better than ever.
