Charter Table Table in Aylesbury Vale

I held the wake following my mothers funeral. I was given one end of the building for my 35- 45 guests and had more space than was needed. The service and food was was excellent. I would definitely recommend the Charter it was excellent value for money.

Very nice food and reasonably priced

It is what it is. No good if you're on a low carb diet.

Roast was lovely, just not very hot. Slow service, never enough staff. Screaming kids do not make a pleasant atmosphere.

We all had a great meal and service

The food was nice, but I felt they really skimped on the chips. On this basis, the value for money of the meal wasn't as good as other places I have eaten.

Booked a table for Sunday Roast, waited ages for someone to book us in, only to be told no more Roasts. I would have thought 2.30pm on a Sunday was not a bad time. Will not go there again.

dissapointed to say the least, our waitress was brilliant and couldn’t fault her at all, my friend is Coeliac and you used to do a separate menu which was great even doing a gluten free popodom and chutney with a curry well not anymore just curry and rice, and it’s a A4 sheet of paper now that you have to navigate, and the print is very small, I wear glasses and struggled, being Coliac is a painful thing if you eat gluten so the old menu was great also what happened to the Ice cream Sundae, I had a job to find the ice cream in it and the waitress asked the chef/cook about it and he said he had been told that to cut costs by head office and he had to reduce the amount of ice cream from 3 scoops to 2 small scoops, and very few chocolate nibbles, very expensive ice cream, very very dissapointed as been going to the Charter for years

Luke was a fantastic waiter but food was very average . Wouldn't go again for Sunday roast. Meat eas just stress of turkey and potatoes were not hot just luke warm.

Had a party of 20, including children, pre wedding get together. Various meals, starters, puddings ordered beforehand. Everything was extremely tasty. Well cooked to order like steaks etc. Cannot fault the food or the service. Made it a really comfortable and relaxed evening out.

Had a lovely experience here! Our server harry went above and beyond to satisfy our needs! Our daughter's boyfriend has very specific dietary needs and will only ever eat cucumber or hand cut thrice fried chips which harry personally made it his responsibility to acquire! We all had such a lovely time and couldn't believe how welcoming and personable harry was. He is a true credit to the company. The food was amazing so some credit must also go to the hard working BOH team which it must be boiling in there at the moment. Well done team (and harry ❤️❤️❤️)

My wife and I enjoyed a lunchtime meal on Saturday 6/7/2024,we were served by Harry, a very pleasant young man, he was attentive without being " in your face " a very pleasant experience, thank you

We went in for Sunday lunch today, all I can say is the service was good. But the food was cold when they brought it to us, we sent it back and all they done was stick it in a microwave to warm it up. Brought it back to us with the same food, the roast potatoes still had my bite marks in one of them. Think they need to sack the cook/chef. Not much more that i can say except probably the worst Sunday lunch that we have ever had.

I've been going here for 22 years. Occasional poor service when staffing issues but on the whole, our favourite eatery.

Hi we was at charter tonight 01/06/24and we technically got kicked out after the assuming was the manager lady said we are closed now. Why did you serve us the drink and to top everything she made sure and told us that out money wasn't enough for the pub to be open " Go to town she said". That is nasty from her. We are regular customers there and our money is important to us. I strongly suggest that you do not go there as they do not want customers inside the property after 9pm. The lady started few months ago and she doesn't care about local people. Town is more her thing she said she offended us outside too by not recognising us after few months she has seen us. Well she sounded that she was well high on whatever she was on.

Convenient for a quick lunch. Level access and accessible toilet facilities are available.

Showed up as a walk in got told we couldn't walk in, only accepting bookings online. So we book online to show up 30mins later to be told that they aren't accepting anymore bookings. "We don't know why you were allowed to book online". Car park practically empty, empty tables within the restaurant. Seems like they don't want business on a Sunday at 730pm. There was 4 adults that were going to eat there. We will not be returning.

I like this place very much. Went for a meal with family and friends. Silvia looked after us very well :)

Very nice pub, inside and out. Food was well presented, tasty, and enjoyable. Staff were presentable, personable, polite and helpful. Well worth a visit. We were unaware the premises stopped serving at 10pm.

Had a wonderful lunch today, Steph was my server and she was amazingly attentive and even engaged with my little girl which she enjoyed. The food was perfect and our dietary needs were met with no issues despite our allergies. Will definitely visit again :)

Not had a meal here yet, although friends say its very good. Been in for drinks many times, great value, good selection and friendly staff.

Booked online a table for 4 for 9:15pm, walked in at 9pm only to be told by a rather rude female member of staff that the kitchen was shut. I told them I had the booking confirmation for 9:15pm but this didn’t make any difference with the member of staff saying the kitchen would close now. I asked if we could order there and then since the kitchen would close in any minute but the member of staff rudely said it’s not possible and offered a half-hearted apology in the end. I don’t think I’m going back again to be fair. Very inconvenient experience but most importantly, terrible service and rude staff.

My family and I had a lovely meal here. We were a table of 11, 2 of which were children one with special needs. The occasion was for a Ruby wedding anniversary and our waiter/server Harry was superb. He was on the ball, always asking if we needed anything, offering extras and nothing was too much for him. He's an incredible asset to the company who deserves praise where it's due. The food was really lovely, hot, fresh and flavoursome. The cocktails were a delight too 🍹. The overall experience was lovely, a bit saddened to see how quiet this delightful setting was even though it worked in our favour. A little concerned about the parking, as parking is free for 3 hours once you register your car on the internal system but there after you may incur a fine. However the staff reassured us that should this happen, they would rectify the situation if we call with the receipt details.....so just hoping nothing becomes of it! Overall a really nice experience, I wouldn't hesitate to come again. Huge praise for Harry again, great guy and super service 👏

We always enjoy our meals at the Charter and this visit was no different. The food is always of a good standard, and Josh, the waiter providing the service was great. He engaged with us from the start and worked hard to ensure we got exactly what we wanted. We will definitely be going back.

Dependable pub grub at sensible prices

Went for lunch told no decaff coffee. Also no eggs no gammon no fish pie and some steaks unavailable. Not up to there usual standard

The staff are always very welcoming. We use the Charter regularly the service tonight by Tamsin was excellent and the food was delicious.

Very poor customer service, arrived with an additional person and was told were would not be allowed another chair due to being full, manager was rude and unhelpful. However in the 3hrs we were there, 8 chairs were available just in our own small area for the whole time.

Decent menu and reasonable prices, especially with a voucher! Service was friendly and helpful. Food was good but not great.

They were short of staff but a young lad Harry gave us exceptional service.

I had a table booked with my mum, wife and daughter on boxing day. We had to wait for 20 minutes to be seated, even though my mum is 81. We then waited 20 more minutes to order from the set menu. We then waited 20 minutes for the starter. We waited for the main to arrive but cancelled due to the long wait. The manageress said if we're not eating we have to leave immediately. I asked for time to drink the drinks I'd paid for, because we didn't leave immediately the police were called. They did not attend, probably because i heard the manageress tell the police that we were just sitting at a table finishing our drinks. The next day just myself and my mother went to talk to a manager, but she did not want to talk to us and told us to leave immediately. I told her my mum is 81 and to give her a couple of minutes to rest. She said we were not welcome and because we could not leave immediately she called the police. I complained to head office and have waited 13 days so far for a resolution. They refused to speak to me on the phone. I received an email 21 days after my original complaint. The email apologises for the wait to be seated and the staffs behaviour towards us. The email also states we are barred from the restaurant but all staff will be properly trained so other customers will receive better treatment than we did. The area manager is still investigating the incident, but they will not communicate with me again or tell me the outcome of the investigation.

Unfortunately they were very busy and the food took quite a while to arrive, but to be fair we were offered complimentary desserts for the wait which was a nice touch

Went here on Christmas Eve with 9 members of my family for the festive menu. Service was great, the waiter was lovely and good fun. The choice was fine and the price for the food was really good. The only issue was that the main course wasn't particularly hot when it came out, and the roast potatoes were not good. They seemed like they'd been cooked previously and then reheated for our dinner - they were all stuck together and didn't taste good. That was a shame as the rest of the meal was pretty good and tasty. The desserts were good, but not enough chocolate options. All in all, it was a good meal and we all had a good time and enough food for a great price.

Arrived for our Sunday lunch with my partner and grandmother and was looked after by Harry. He had our drinks and food brought to the table very promptly and went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing visit. It’s not just the beautiful food that always make us return to The Charter, the staff make it! Thanks again Harry!

We went for a work Christmas dinner and it was great of them to seat us considering they were three staff members down everyone was lovely, Harry, Leila and Amber made our experience very enjoyable and would definitely recommend everyone was absolutely lovely and the food was very good too, we had their festive menu, and came out extremely quickly.

Table of 26 pre chosen meals. Everything came out on time, beautifully served and piping hot. Staff very attentive but not intrusive. As it was a Christmas Meal crackers on the table all fully recyclable. The turkey dinner was delicious and plenty of it, salmon was yummy. All dietary choices taken care of. Thank you to all the staff

Very sorry to have to write this here, but I feel like we have been conned. We have ordered specials worth around £40 and had £30 extra added, with the excuse that the deal isn't on when it clearly should be.

Manager is very professional and food was excellent.

A good chain eatery with nice discrete areas for large & small groups. Large car park but make sure that you log your car reg inside the restaurant.

Big thank you to Charlotte and the male waiter who sadly I didn't get the name of who looked after my and my disabled mum for dinner last Friday. Their customer service is outstanding. Nothing was too much bother and we felt very valued. They made sure my Mum was comfortable at the table before going off to sort our drinks. The food was well cooked and great value.

Value for money so affordable more often. Good place to meet friends and parking never been a problem. Service has always been with a smile. My only criticism is the phone is often not answered but realise most are short staffed now and attending to customers.

We had Sunday lunch today 05/12/23, the roast potatoes did not taste nice, we did mention this to the staff member at the time. The table next to us also complained regarding the roast potatoes. Also no turkey available

First time used and was not disappointed was greeted by a young lady Layla who was amazing from start to finish 1000% customer service (tip to management she is an asset keep her !!) As for the food also amazing hot fresh even had desserts with the cocktails washing it all down recommend all to try and once again thanks to Layla top top waitress made the night all good

Huge restaurant but not many diners at lunch time. School holidays so was expecting it to be busy. Parts missing from the menu no coleslaw and no eggs. The egg which was part of the meal was not advised in advance. Small portions, doggy small portion of chips. Fish was soggy. Staff were very friendly and nice but looked stressed as only one lady serving. Such a shame as this has so much potential due to the staff and the size of the place.

Went with 3 others 10.11.23 food was not the best ! Ordered hot dog with chips and salad. bun was dry the sausage is spicy but does not state this on the menu. Chips with skins on not great. Menu was poor due to not having somethings on the menu .Menu has been changed and is not the best ideal options for the pub has the old menu was better. But service was excellent 10-10 for service.

Stopped here for supper while on a long road trip. Very good service and great food both meat and veggies.

Been coming here for years never any problems at all it's easy kid friendly always accommodating, got a rewards card that's always giving endless supplies of discounts free meals etc , foods always well cooked staff are friendly and helpful , can't fault the place , was very busy this afternoon and harry the waiter handled the pressure well . Don't know what has happened here lately but it seems they can't get orders right. burger sent back twice as wrong order. and steak which should have been well done . well a good vet would have brought it back to life. I would say raw in middle . will b thinking very seriously about going back there .
