If you want to enjoy fine dining without the faff then Chart Farm Kitchen is the place. Located at Chart Farm, Dom and the guys are putting together, clever, well conceived and challenging menu. Cooked mainly using traditional charcoal and smoking technique, you are in a for a treat. A seven course menu at a fixed price (April 22 £75/pp) that will challenge your palate and your imagination, The menu changes every month so you never get tired of the same old thing. You are seated at the same time as other diners and served at the same time, so please be ready to be seated no later than 7:30pm on Friday evening. Don't expect the posh linen and the fine silver, this is not what you are coming to Chart Farm Kitchen. You are coming to try something different, enticing and will make you beg for more. The wine list is carefully chosen to match the meal to perfection. If you are a steak lover than I recommend wholeheartedly Steak Night on the Wednesday. Being located at a farm you will not disappointed with the quality of the meat, the fries and the lovely seasonal vegetables. Really I should not give this glowing review for fear that it might take me ages to book a table again, but really this place should go for a Michelin rating. Parking is ample on site. Book early to avoid disappointment the waiting list is long.

We went on mother's day, and the whole experience was excellent. Between when we had booked, and when we actually went, my grandma had very unfortunately broken both of her wrists, but all of the staff were so understanding and accommodating of the circumstances, including adjusting her portion sizes and giving her the rest in takeaway boxes. All of the food we had was absolutely delicious, and it was very well organised so that it didn't feel too busy despite being mother's day.

My second time eating here and what a disappointment. The food looked great but lacked seasoning and flavour. They had a table of 13 in for lunch and the kitchen seemed unable to cope with the service as our food took ages and was not of a standard that you would expect at the price that they charge. The head waiter is full of chit chat when you arrive but when you complain about the quality of the food or the speed of service he simply dismisses you and is totally uninterested. The fish course was like warm and lacked flavour. They add 12.5% service to the bill for poor food and poor service. I was not convinced the first time I ate here but after the second time it will define the last time. Really disappointing all round.

I attended a funeral lunch and I have to say the buffet was laid out beautifully. The whole combination worked so well. I am intolerant to wheat snd various other; but I found the whole experience re food so good I called snd spoke to the catering manager Michelle to feedback a great experience for someone who has digestive issues. Michelle was very helpful with directing me to some of the food outlets she uses. Bought some of the gf sandwiches home snd still fresh the following day. The cake was deliciously moist still next day too. Ireally do recommend you check out for any functions; and more with Michelle as her personal touch also very warm dnd friendly. Will definitely return again.

Nigel and team accommodated a huge amount of us (18 adults, 13 kids), including cooking homemade pies to order (we could choose the type of pies!). We were an hour later than planned, but it was no issue. Also due to a miscommunication from me, some meals were not prepared but Nigel jumped on it and got them out of the kitchen ASAP. Excellent food, great well kept beer. Kids portions are massive, easily enough for 2 to share (say for 6-8 year olds). We will return again!
