Charnia Kitchen in Charnwood

I visited the kitchen in order to book a regular weekly business luncheon for my 20 employees as a thank you for their efforts in creating a successful new business in the village. It was my intention to commit a sum of £2000.00 !a week for them and their families to experience the benefit of living in our new location. Having been impressed with the look and reviews of the kitchen I entered there to make these arrangements. But swiftly choose not to. Whilst some of the staff seemed lovely the welcome and approach from either the manager or owner quickly made me not want to trust them with the wellbeing of my staff. His attitude from the start was cold and abrupt and he showed no interest in seeing to my needs. Without even a courteous smile or even eye contact....and came across as uninterested and actually rude Visit there at your oeril... Sadly

This very pleasant and friendly restaurant is perfect for a lunchtime snack or meal, with a varied menu suitable for all tastes and preferences. The staff are approachable and friendly, always willing to assist, without being overbearing. A good range of drinks are available too

This is a lovely place to come for a meal. The food is outstanding and the place is beautiful. If your in the local area or willing to travel this is a place you must visit

Visited on a Thursday evening for an evening meal and would highly recommend a visit at anytime of the day going by the standard of the food we received. The quality, quantity, price and service were extremely good and will certainly be going again.

We have visited for evening meals many times since it opened, mainly in a group of 5 and both the food and service are first class. all the food is individually prepared - no factory food here, all is fresh local sourced from quality local people. and the prices are very reasonable Evening meals are served Thursday, Friday and Saturday If you are a vegan or have special requirements, just let them know in advance when you book your table with your preferences and they will prepare a dish especially for you If you live in the area and like quality food, do give it a try, you will not be disappointed

Visited on a Saturday night with friends. This venue starts the day servicing up great breakfasts and goes through the day with lunches, afternoon teas and a few veinings doing dinners. Not an extensive menu but a more than adequate menu which represents excellent value for money. At time of visiting (March 2022) a 3 course dinner was £22. The portion size and quality is very good. Great to see a restaurant putting quality and service ahead of maximising profits. Service was efficient and friendly.

Really want to thank the team for the amazing visit last week with our Brownies as part of their end of year Christmas treat! The team put together a wonderful selection of afternoon tea with juice! The food was delicious and also had some Christmas themed treats! The venue was beautifully set up and our girls thought how gorgeous it was The team were friendly, attentive, and on hand for the girls. They also accommodated our fussier girls with their food needs ! It’s a perfect venue to take children and we would most definitely recommend! Thank you so much for a lovely evening!

Visited the Charnie for a birthday treat. Had afternoon tea with presseco, it was fabulous. Great selection of sandwiches, cakes and savoury also great vegetarian option. Lovely staff and nice atmosphere. Will definitely go again

Had a lovely full English breakfast here one day. Charming little restaurant, oldey worldly style. Staff polite and friendly.

I visited here with a friend for lunch and sat in a very pretty outside area. We ordered food and a mix up in the kitchen led to a delay. I can only Say the situation was dealt with extremely well by the very apologetic manager. The food was well worth the wait and the excellent response has ensured that we will be back!! Highly recommended!! Thank you!

Small portions, cold toast, not particularly flavoursome. We had the full English, vegan breakfast and vegetarian breakfast and thought they were nothing special. The waffle was quite tasty. Wouldn’t bother coming back again

Really good lunch for 4, good atmosphere but safe. Scallops were delicious to start and then roasts (it was Sunday) and salmon for mains were very good. Reasonably priced. Would go back.

Due to the lockdown we had a steak takeaway ( full range of other foods available) which was delivered to us some 5 miles away, it was on time, well presented. Cooked perfectly to how we like it cooked. we had the small steaks which was more than adequate for us . Faultless food and service, looking forward to our next takeaway from them. Also looking forward to visiting them again once they are able to open, we have been a number of times in the past as the value and food is so good. Just try the liver and onions

I hadn’t been to Charnia Kitchen for a few months and the updated interior looks fabulous! The Covid measures in place were good, plenty of hand sanitiser available and the track and trace app to scan when you arrive. The member of staff who served us was friendly, and there was a great choice of breakfasts on the menu. Everyone’s dishes looked great, especially the eggs benedict and the waffles. We’ve already booked to go back in a couple of weeks as we had such a lovely morning there.

A lovely place to meet any time of day and into early evening. Great cooking,with interesting choice. Loved the efficient friendlt service and wonderful drinks. The cocktails were fab. Spotlessly clean and covid precautions in place. Good for couples, families or friends.

Lovely courtyard but in the booths cushions dirty hand sanatizer available the food was nice but the portion sizes mum had a gammon said it was 8 ounce more like 5 gammon egg and chips no peas so small it’s a shame
