The service was good how ever what a highly priced chip shop. The curry sauce tubs are small and almost £2. The fish was not nice and the haddock and cod are way over priced and not much fish but a lot of batter. They did also forget my kids two mini cod. My bill came to over £61. Never have I ever had to pay that much for chip shop food. I’ll not be ever going back, the staff look cool but guys you really need to ramp up your game and bring those prices down. You’ve definitely lost us as customers. Nearly £4 for one large bags of chips, I ordered two of them, I could e have paid £3 at arena chip shop and they’re have given me the same in one portion against your two. Absolutely disgusting Charlie’s plaice, never again.

Now VERY EXPENSIVE ! The prices keep rising as the portions shrink ! R I P Charlie

Has it changed hands? ... really manky bits of thin fish purporting to be cod ... it must have taken days of practice to cut fish so thin .... new scruffy people in the shop and 2 bits of fish and 1 chips cost £20 ... NEVER AGAIN!

From the moment you walk in, to the moment you leave with your purchase, the service is excellent. The food is amazing, the staff are great. Charlies is 100% the best chippy in Cov.

The food is always good with good portions regardless of how busy they are. Peak times you can find a queue out of the door which itself is a testament to the food, however, lots of staff working hard to serve quickly. You can order ahead of time for collection or delivery.

Got this delivered on uber eats and after they were delivered and eat, they decided to send a message to us and say the vinegar was malt vinegar, and not gluten free. If you are gluten free, be wary of this.

Nice people and staff, fresh fish but batter was really hard and crispy was hard to bite, pork and stuffing batch was loaded but very bland and tasteles, chips were quite hard but not awful, kebab was okay but not the best we've had, can't say I will order the batch again but I wouldn't not give it another try inces it was just a bad day

Ordered a large order via Uber last night. Arrived with items missing. The staff couldn't have handled the issue any better. Within 5 minutes they personally delivered the items and gave extras. Food was also fantastic. We will be back as a result

Absolutely disgusted with the attitude of the staff in here the girl with the glasses and the fake tan her attitude really stinks my partner went down for dinner and they placed our order in a paper bag as everyone knows it’s been raining bad so the paper bags won’t hold nothing he left the shop took a few steps and the paper bag was soaked and ripped and went all over the floor so he went back in and then the woman said well I can re rap it for you are you joking me it’s got grit and everything on it we will definitely be sticking to wyken fish bar now at least there staff talk to the customers my partner would of paid for more food but the attitude of the woman mad him angry so he just walked out NEVER AGAIN…… sorry Charlie but you need different staff with a totally different attitude

£10 for a portion of fish and chips and the batter was thick and under cooked. I won't be going back any time soon. I'm looking for another shop now. Also there is no parking, and I got fined £60 for parking at the Wheel car park!

Hands down, this is the best chippy, period! I've been going here since I was a kid. The staff are friendly, the prices are really good and the quality of the food is brilliant! Soo good in fact I don't mind travelling 45 minutes from home just to get something to eat!

Ordered some food on a busy Saturday - got home and the order was missing some chips from the mini fish and chips . Phoned the staff and they were apologetic and the missing item was sent to my address within 15 mins . Excellent customer service and food was lovely - could be the best chippy in Cov and I live near Aldermans Green chippy , ssssssssshhhhhhh

For a long time we have used this shop. shop. What on earth has happened today.???? Just after 4.30 . Evening opening time. My husband ordered two cod and chips and a portion of mushy peas. The carrier bag contained NO mush peas. The worst thing was the rest. The cod was long and very thin. Hardly any flakes of fish. . The chips were disgusting. Hard and sharp on the edges. It looked like they were 'refried' ???. After attempting to eat some of it most of it. went into the bin. What we did eat has left a coating of grease in our mouths. Wont be going again!!

I've had good fish&chips here before but my recent visit was very disappointing. I went at lunchtime on a Thursday and the piece of fish was much smaller than they have previously served and the chips were dried up and unpleasant. They were obviously standing too long and I did not enjoy the meal.

This is the first time I have used Charlie's place fish shop firstly the chips where soft not cooked right the fish was crispy but broke into bits very easily leaving cod on the plate all broken I was charged £18 for this when I go to the seaside I don't pay these prices a very unhappy customer will not being going back

The food was very good but the lady at the till was very rude. She was shouting at us when we stand on the door side of the shop. Very disappointed and very bad customer service.

The customer service is horrible. The lady at the till was very rude to me and my partner. She literally shouting at us for standing near the store door . We where actually trying to keep social distancing where the shop is not following. Terrible and poor customer service.

After calling and paying online thinking this would be easy well was I wrong people in the queue were getting served well before and so we're delivery service it was so cold outside I have asthma and was not good so don't order online.didnt like the no mask in shop either.

Not for kebabs - absolutely disaster, cold, dry, salty and expensive... Fish was great.

Normally a top quality shop. But during covid-19 neither member of staff or customer wore a mask, I was shocked when the staff lady told me " excuse me can you take your mask off I cannot hear you don't worry it's fine" telling me to take my mask if during a pandemic, that is unprofessional as it is stupid. With no enforcement in place, with a highly complacent staff, shame on you. Your continued business is questionable at best.

It used to be well priced decent food but is now far too dear...50 pence change from a tenner for fish & chips and a tiny curry sauce.The fish was not fresh either.I will be Going back to a carvery and a beer for £8 up the Walsgrave...

Donner meat was inedible, absolutely vile. I took a bite of it and it smelt like death must of been a few days old as it was dry and honestly smelt rancid. I puked everything I ate. Never going again.

i ordered a donner kebab with a cone of chips - the dark haired lady served me and looked pis*ed off and chagred me £7.80 and put everything through separately......chips were greasy dont know why normally am ok with this place. Never again .....
