Wonderful food and service as usual. This place does 'proper' home cooked food, with delicious soups and cakes to die for! Five stars as usual!

Friendly, efficient staff, busy keeping tables, etc spotlessly clean. Reasonable prices. Lovely food, (the poached eggs were perfect and hot!). Decent tasty bread too not your cheap stuff. Highly recommend.

My husband and I go to Charlie’s Café now and again for lunch. It’s our “go to” place in Northwich. Their quiche and salad is just amazing and one of our favourite choices on the menu. It’s lovely and clean with stable friendly staff too.

We were 2 grandparents and a 3 yr old for a spot of lunch. Very busy cafe but service was exceptional. Order taken and food produced within 10 minutes. Food cheap and wholesome with large portions even for the youngster. Chips were excellent. Would prefer bread slices to be less thick. Place very clean with tables cleared as soon as vacated. Food basic fare and nil fancy but satisfying for a quick bite.

I was recommended to try Charlie's cafe by a local resident, and I was not disappointed when I called at 1310hrs on a busy Saturday. I chose the all-day breakfast, and changed a couple of items on the standard menu; this was done willingly, and I was offered 2-3 different alternatives for both of the items I did not want. So different from so many places now, where any change to the listed items is reluctantly agreed, and no alternatives offered at all. The food was tasty and well-prepared.and overall I was very impressed. I look forward to returning again soon - highly recommended. There are even a couple of tables outside for those braving he elements in mid-November.

After a week in New York it was great to eat a real breakfast. Nobody does breakfast like Charlie’s. Great salad as well , they take great care making the food. Best place to eat in Cheshire

We love our visits to Charlie's, for either breakfast, brunch or lunch. The food is always good & they are very accommodating regarding my food in tolerances. At least 15 years of Saturday visits unless we're away 😋😀

Me and couple of friends stopped by for brunch on Tuesday. My friend sampled the all day breakfast and said it was the best she'd ever had. I had the homemade soup which is always yummy followed by a fresh out of the oven scone with loads of jam and cream. My other friend tried the vegan options and was most impressed. We'll all be coming back!

They may have been having a bad day as ive heard good things. However from my experience today i will not be returning. Bland slop on a plate. No service with a smile. Dilapidated premises. Not wheel chair or pram freindly at all. Was hoping for good things, but left disapointed.

Visited for light lunch, quickly found a table ( which were all clean) chose a sandwich and drinks and duly ordered at the counter. The drinks were very soon delivered to our table and the salad sandwiches soon followed. Excellent farmhouse “fresh” thick cut bread and loads of salad. Other meals observed also looked extremely appetising. The staff were continually working very pleasant and never stopped hence the clean tables. At the front of the shops I assume local people were queuing to get a variety of freshly made sandwiches for there lunch. Prices very reasonable and all in all a good little business. Highly recommendable when visiting Northwich

What a great find! Me and a couple of friends stopped by for an impromptu lunch on Saturday. I'm so glad we waited for a table (as there was a queue) as the food was fab. The all day breakfast was the best I've had - generous portions, great quality food and even though we were all stuffed we couldn't resist trying some (very obviously) homemade cakes. We're all 'foodies' so agreed we'd be coming back soon. Well done Charlie's - quality and value - a rare find these days!

Got two full breakfast, had to pay extra for a hash brown apparently that is not a part of the breakfast which has baffled my head, they forgot to bring us the extra bacon out because we didn’t have mushrooms or tomatoes and the bacon was burnt just like the toast was, the eggs was like taking a mouthful of grease, And £3.50 for two cans of Pepsi anyone think it was Waitrose we was visiting so £25 for all of that and it was nothing there I wouldn’t even feed it to a dog absolutely disgraceful food no stars from me

Decent caff, good service, prices good Sometimes the sausage needs a few minutes more, but the omelette is good, and plenty nice curly chips. What more can you want for a fiver these days? Give it a try.

The only problem here are the queues - which shows how good the cafe is! We always have a good meal - the chicken salad and bacon and eggs are favourites.

We had smelt the food from this place many times whilst parked at our usual supermarket. Sat outside in the sunshine and enjoyed the best English Breakfasts in Cheshire. Top Darts! Great service from very friendly staff, and definitely worth a visit.

Service and staff good, but the food was awful. The sausage were anemic and the egg was solid really terrible. Won't be returning. Another couple were disgusted and said the same as they walked away.

I called with my mum today for an impromptu lunch. I started with the soup of the day (Charlie's make the best home made soups) which was tomato - yum! Followed my my favourite omelette. My mum chose the all day breakfast which as always lived up to expectations. I've tried other places in town but keep coming back to Charlie's. Best food in Northwich!

I was so pleased to find Charlie's still open and doing their wonderful breakfast to takeaway! I miss sitting inside but still enjoyed tucking in when I got back to the office. Thank you Charlie's for always being there! You're not helping the diet though :)

The best cafe in Northwich. Me and my boyfriend go most Saturdays for a full English breakfast and each time you can’t fault it. The staff are lovely, the cafe is clean and the food is fab. Such a family friendly place and so accommodating to food intolerances. They even have a Vegan menu!

Quite often when in town or shopping stop in for some food.Always great food, great breadCool it to exact order (I’m a tad picky)Always clean, always busy and great folk.Worth a stop in.Never used the takeaway or butty service but I suspect it’ll be equally as good.

Been to this cafe before, enjoyed a meal and the experience. Called in today with hubby, talk about miserable staff... what a shame the woman who served me could not even be bothered to at least smile, or engage in the conversation when I ordered at the till. Staff looked depressed, and like she did not want to be there. While you don't expect staff to be cheesey and overwhelming, it would be nice to have at least some form of customer service, even if its just a smile. Last visit for me, take my money elsewhere in future.

My husband and I have been coming here for years. The food is very good, worth waiting in the queue when it is busy. The staff are excellent,nice smiling faces and very polite. I feel I must mention the young man that served us today. His name is Alex. Watched him going round the tables, his customer skills are excellent what a good assett to the team. Well done Charlie's.

The food in here is always good and the staff are so nice and friendly. I often by a sandwich to eat at home if I don’t have time to sit in and the takeaway sandwich’s are great

I LOVE this cafe, yes the decor is pretty basic but it is really clean, the staff are lovely and friendly and the food is fabulous- really good value for money and sooo much choice.

A good breakfast cafe, with the best toast, wonderfully thick and buttered. Sometimes it's a bit crowded and cramped, but as I said, NICE toast.

Visited here at lunchtime, it was very busy but a friendly fella cleared and wiped a table for us. We ordered the food and drinks with a waitress who was very friendly. Food and drinks came to us quickly, the sandwiches were tasty and the bread was nice and fresh. Menu had plenty of choice.Cafe was clean and staff very friendly.

We have been coming here since we moved North 3 years ago. Used to enjoy the breakfast. But we have now boycotted as they dictate what you can and can’t order and can and can’t eat!! Totally bizarre!! My husband had a big breakfast, there’s a lot to it and it has 3 slices of toast with it. I just had coffee. So the breakfast shows up and I decide I’ll have a price of the toast and pinch one of the eggs..as us women do!! So I asked for an extra knife and fork and was told NO!! I was not allowed to share his breakfast - they have a policy. Never known anything like it in my life. So I obviously still shared just made a sandwich instead! We gave it a wide berth for a while but whilst in town recently we thought we try again. So we order tea and coffee and a big breakfast and I ordered my own egg and hash browns but guess what...they wouldn’t let me have egg and hash browns...I had to order 3 items...but I didn’t want 3 items and yet again it’s their policy!!! Their only policy is how to lose customers. What a bizarre way to run a business. Needless to say we walked out and won’t be back.

Full English Breakfast good with more food on your plate than you can possibly eat. Cheese on Toast good, though wish they used better cheese. Not often you get a good cup of tea in a cafe. Staff cheerful and friendly and will be back.

Looking at the cafe from outside you think you are in for a treat. Had breakfast today 21st July 19. It wasnt good. Had to send all of the bacon and sausages back as they were cold and raw. It seems like they use cheap ingredients such as butter, beans, tomatoes but charge approximately around £7 for a breakfast. The staff are nice but the food isn't good in our opinion ( 3 of us) Not nice, wont be returning!.

Absolutely fantastic, they do a roast beef in the morning, so not available until 12ish. You can have a small or large. Really beautiful beef with onions and lots too. Not avaliable every day. I went Tuesday worth every penny. Lovely friendly staff.

Popped in today and had the most wonderful coronation chicken sandwich. It was to die for!! And the service was wonderful as usual which always makes eating there a pleasure. And I love that they don't put currants or raisins (or any other dried fruit) in their coronation chicken as many of us coronation chicken fans prefer it without. And it was such a relief to find it didn't have any currents (as others have mentioned) running through it as I'm not partial to an electric shock. However I do find Charlie's very "current" and up to the minute in terms keeping up with trends etc, all with very smiley staff :)

There were three in our party. We ordered a standard breakfast, a vegetarian breakfast and poached eggs on toast. The size of the breakfasts was much bigger than we expected and we thought them good value. I had the vegetarian breakfast with scrambled eggs and it was very nicely cooked. My sister was pleased with the poached eggs which were done just how she liked them. Although the cafe was very busy at lunchtime we did not have to wait long for our meals.WeI were surprised to read some of the bad reviews on here as we were very happy with our meals.

Me, my husband and 19 week old baby visited today at lunchtime. The cafe is on the high street in Northwich. Lots of choice on food option and can chose to sit in or takeaway. Hubby had the all day big breakfast which came with lots of doorstop toast and I had a jacket with melted cheese and chilli. Beautifully presented. Staff really friendly and service quick. Reasonably priced too. Was busy but no waiting at all. Highly recommend hubby a fussy eater but he loved the big breakfast which is served all day and his eggs were cooked perfect we will be back.

The staff are pleasant, the food came out quickly, the menu has multiple vegan options which are also gluten free. The food is great and the portion sizes good. The food is reasonably priced too.

been visiting on a regular basis now for over 12 months. The value for money is exceptional, any friends we have taken have all expressed their delight with the food and the excellent service

Decided to try Charlie's again.......We have a lot of breakfasts out, so have a lot to compare with. My goodness, WHAT A MEAL...there was plenty and such a good price, this is the only breakfast that has beaten us, we couldn't finish it.

Ordered Coronation Chicken in Baked Potato, was awful , when I spoke to waitress and said that this was not Coronation Chicken, she sent a lady who must be the manager or owner and she said we dont put currents in it because people dont like it with currents in, I said I did not enjoy and asked for a refund which she refused, I would not go back as terrible customer service

We arrived at around 10.00A.M last Saturday 18th August and ordered 2 Breakfasts with Coffee as usual. We sat outside by the window with Winter the Dogquietly chatting Coffee arrived promptly and we sat quietly chatting. Suddenly from nowhere a brown Staffie dog appeared and attacked Winter without any provocation. Several people from the Cafe and local shops came to our aide and between us we managed to get the dog off. I can only thank everyone who helped us and prevented any serious injury to Winter. I was bitten on the hand and Joan from Charlies gave me some antiseptic wipes a plaster and some paracetamol. She then brought more Coffee and gave us our money back then offered us Breakfast on the house or a sandwich to take away. All the staff were wonderful to us and Winter and we can not thank you all enough.We were truly overwhelmed by everyone's kindness and the great local community spirit, will see you all soon.

Charlie’s is a fantastic little cafe in Northwich. The food is incredible and the staff are wonderful! The gluten free options are great and just as tasty! Highly recommend eating here!

I've been coming to Charlie's on and off for years and always found the food to be lovely , but I've noticed they've now got a few vegan snack options which is great news 😊

I was in Northwich for the day and really fancied a breakfast. Charlies provided a great one at quite a reasonable price. The staff were very friendly and knew the menu very well. i went when it was relatively quiet but I could see that at peak times that it could get slightly claustrophobic. Nevertheless I thought the food was excellent and will be returning when I go back to the town.

We had to wait ages in the blazing sun out side on the street tables provided. We could not go inside as we had our dogs with us. I asked the staff to lower to canopy only it be told it was broken.

I had scrambled egg at £1.80 each! +side of cheese to go in the egg at £1.80! I've been many times over the years but was too embarrassed to query the price as it was pointed out to me on the menu. £7+ for this and a tea.I didn't realize eggs were so expensive.Just won't be visiting again. At the end of the day it's just a cafe.

Visited with my 2 boys. 14 and 4 years old, tables it feels very claustrophobic with as many tables squeezed in as poss and quite noisy when you're trying to eat. My 14 year old wasn't allowed to order from the child's menu as he's over 10 (something I've never experienced anywhere before, normally anyone can order from the child's menu...say if they're not hungry etc. Can't see how that causes an issue for the restaurant, smaller portion size, paying the same price etc) when I asked why was told it's just a rule and would have to order the adult one. No napkins on the tables ir sent iver with drinks, so had to ask when my 4 year old dropped some drink from his straw on ti the table. A negative experience overall so we won't be returning when there are so many great places to eat. Would advise making customer service your priority especially in such a competitive market. Disappointed

Have visited Charlie’s many times for takeaway lunches over the years and always felt the food was excellent quality and value. Recently I have called in for lunch a couple of times and found the cafe service equally good. There’s a good variety of light meals and cakes. On both occasions I chose an omelette with salad, although this was also offered with chips or beans for the same very reasonable price of £4, and found it difficult to finish due to the very generous portions. Service was also quick and friendly. Highly recommended!

I vistied with a friend for lunch, food arrived soon after we had ordered.

I go past Charlie's quite often but usually it's to busy for me as it's very popular but I visited early this morning when it was a bit quieter .....i was greeted at the counter by a realy friendly lady ( short dark hair ( and then another young lady brought me a lovely coffee over ....when my toast was ready the lady from the kitchen brought it out to me with a friendly smile and a cheery good morning ....so realy can't fault the lovely service from the staff and the fact my toast was done with lovely thick fresh bread was an added bonus .

i visited Charlies one mid-afternoon for some food to tied us over until our evening meal. We both had Poached eggs on toast and a cup of tea. the bread that comes with this dish is lovely and thick and the eggs were lovely too. The staff were friendly and helpful too. I think I will definitely return with the family.

Staff are very friendly and the cafe has indoor and outdoor seating. The food is lovely and you never have to wait long. Big portions so be careful.

we were taking the children to the cinema and called for a meal the place was packed but we were soon found a table. we found the food very good and will come again.

Called in for breakfast this morning. Been many times before but today's visit was terrible Had full English. Egg yolk were hard. Sausage was uncooked. Fat on bacon didn't look like it had been cooked. Toast was cold. Ended up leaving half of it Very...

Food was excellent unfortunately the staff were not. Two young ladies were obviously waiting to leave despite it only being 3.45pm and the cafe serving food until 4.15.pm. We were made to feel uncomfortable and the younger of the 2 even went as far as to place her cleaning spray and cloth on our table before we left at 4.10pmWould highly recommend the food for lunch and the cakes were scrumptious shame the staff were not as palatable.

Nos encanta ir a Charlie's. El personal es encantador y la comida es fabulosa (nunca he tenido una mala experiencia) les encanta sus champiñones y queso en pan tostado. Todos los ingredientes son de origen local y son sabrosos y frescos.

Buena comida con un ambiente agradable. Gran selección de sandwiches y baguettes y patatas de la chaqueta. También excelentes desayunos. Mi hija estaba impresionado con la amplia selección de tés de frutas! Lo recomiendo altamente.

We have been coming to Charlie's for years... Food prices brilliant quality of food perfect. Choice of food really good.. Well priced drinks But they have now placed half pint bottles of milk on the tables so you can help yourself. Don't like that at all. I made it perfectly clear but no one seemed bothered at all... Children will drink out of these bottle and then they will be topped up by staff.. Also people that don't wash there hands properly or don't bother at all.I prefer a fresh jug of milk with my drinks order. When I called by phone later on again no one seemed interested in my concern. Will not be visiting again

Used to love coming here it was my favourite place for breakfast . Popped in last Saturday as we were in the area. I was surprised that on a Saturday there were still loads of tables gone are the days of frantically looking around and diving on a table as soon as it was empty . Prices still reasonable standard of food has drastically fallen , eggs were positively swimming in the oil on the plate , mushrooms in pleased to say were as tasty as ever but what on earth was that sad excuse of a sausage it was small cheap and nasty I used to love the big chunky sausages this was cheap rubbish and tiny .. final word to the waitress a smile would be nice and when you deliver the drinks to the table please just ask who is having what instead of just dumping them all at the end of a table

I really like this little place as the service is always really good and the food is of a good quality home style food. I have eaten here quite a few times. I particularly rate the quiche and the turkey special sandwich. Good tea and they do an old fashioned milky coffee which my mum loves. Good food choices for toddlers, too. Actually, there is a lot of thought gone into making it toddler friendly generally with colouring paper and crayons and lots of books to choose from. Plus loads of highchairs. The only thing to be aware of is that there is only one loo and no baby change in there which isn't great.

Very busy but did not wait long for my food sat outside in the sun staff very polite and I have noticed that they keep on adding to there menus they also do take away sandwichs a good place to go for a snack type meal

I visit Charlies on average once a month. I have only ever been in for brunch and always have the cheese on toast with a side of bacon and tinned tomatoes. Pot of Tea for one. Comes to just under £8. Really good sized portions and sets you up for the day. Its very informal and can get busy around lunch so you may have to wait a few mins for a table. I have been with people who have the full English breakfast and it was a defo thumbs up. Never tried a take away sandwich or any of the specials but its a great place for a bite to eat. I have always found the staff to be pleasent and the service quick.

Me and my mother came to Charlies on the first day when it opens back in 2000 and it was a fab place to come with my daughter and my husband but sadly after the years it has change to the worse... food wise the quality is poor and VERY EXPENSIVE ... the team obviously not the same now is full of teens that are not interested in customer service at all ... now to pay 3.10 for a slice of bread with cheap cheese on top is ridiculous... toast bread used to be chunky and lovely now is just bread from Tesco.I will not be coming back and I will pass my thoughts to all my friends and relatives.SAD :(

Given the benefit of the doubt after all this time and popped in, Nothing changes, food rushed and tasteless, staff interested in taking your money only, and no pleasantries, smiles or warm welcome, won't be going in again.

This is our favourite friendly coffee shop in Northwich. Staff are great food is hearty and filling tasty too. Always relaxed always pretty full in there too. We love the fresh sliced white bread on sarnies and the rocky road cake here is amazing. Ooh and don't forget to try their locally sourced Webbs sausages! Pleasant busy atmosphere. Staff lovely with my two young children. High chairs provided, recently refurbished and modernised. Only thing lacking is changing area for babies...they could also do with additional toilets as there is only one and it can be busy at times.

We often pop into Charlies but I don't remember ever leaving a review so...The service is quick and always good; the staff are helpful; the food is freshly cooked and reasonably priced.

Excellent value for money cafe. Fantastic food served till late afternoon.Breakfasts are great if you like a full English fry up.Lunches are varied, the pasta of the day is always excellent. baked potatoes are great.Afternoon tea is a must with home made cakes and scones.

On Thursday I thought I'd have a full English breakfast as a treat. Ordering was a little chaotic since I don't like everything on the full English menu so asked if I could change it. They did change it but I was made to feel like I'd inconvenienced them. Looking forward to this I found a table for one opposite the till, I cleaned the table myself and cleared it of the previous persons plate and cup and crumbs. When the breakfast came it was shocking. The sausages were stuck together and we're so thin. The bacon was hard and I mean rock hard and yellow on the edges. It was awful. It was obvious the only item cooked to order was the fried egg, the rest were obviously a warm up job. I was so disappointed I just stood up and left without making a fuss. I will next time visit the melting pot cafe on the corner. Despite its appearance they do everything freshly cooked and extremely tasty. I just thought I'd try somewhere else. Sorry Charlie's but this was the worst breakfast I've ever had and that's really saying something.

Went here for a takeout breakfast it was reasonably priced and the food tasted great. The cafe and staff look clean which is always good! Will be going again for a sit down experience.

After our visit to Charlie's today, I am completely disappointed by the service received when we pointed out the fact that we were being charged a different price to that on the menu! Also to add to the fun, we were charged 60p extra for gluten free bread with no mention of that on the menu either - first time I have ever experienced this! May seem petty but it's the principle & EMBARRASSING when you have to pay with cash and reach the till without enough. I did mention this upon payment so I hope it has reached the manager by now. Sort it out Charlie's, such a shame your lovely cafe seems to be going downhill by these simple service errors!

Lovely breakfast at a cheap price, we both ordered a normal breakfast as in the past we have ordered a big breakfast and it was far too much, would definitely return for breakfast again.

First time customer however left before sampling the quality of the food as tried to order 3 adult meals to share with my wife and our 5 and 3 year old sons however they do not allow sharing of food.  Their policy is all patrons must order their own meals.  Disappointed and left as the overall feedback on Trip Adviser seemed good.

Popped in for a breakfast on a midweek morning.Place was clean & tidy but the A/C was somewhat on the chilli side!!!!I had the big breakfast and was up sold extra hash browns, I also ordered a pot of tea, which I had to chase this as it was forgotten!!.The big breakfast was very nice, the mushrooms come in a separate bowl for some reason? The only two moans would be........Small pot of tea £1:50!Ketchup / Brown sauce for you breakfast is sold as extras at 20p a portion.............what is that all about ?!?

We popped in for breakfast and chose poached egg on brown toast with tea for two. The tea arrived quickly and our table was near the window so were able to watch shoppers walking past. The eggs were just right and the brown toast was really tasty. The new décor has really improved the atmosphere . As ever the staff are very efficient and polite. There seemed to be plenty of choice judging by what we saw other diners ordering. The café is located in a very handy spot near to the library and we will definitely be visiting again.

Always busy, good solid cafe food, not the cheapest but good. Tables can be dirty and had to ask for it to be cleared and drinks didn't appear.In the whole good...

Every Saturday me and my family always come here for breakfast. Whenever we go we always have a wide range of options to have for food.With your coffee you also get a free biscuit. The only bad thing I can think of is that one time they forget my order. Overall this place is great for breakfast and lunch.

I have been visiting Charlie's for years , went in this morning for breakfast , order was taken by an extremely sour faced very very rude girl she really does need to go on a customer care course .. Food arrived promptly I understand the mushrooms arrive separately but I think 5 mins between the first plate and the 2nd plate arriving is a bit much , food was brought by a lovely happy very pleasant young girl . Food is ok for the price you pay , although Coke is obviously a very very very cheap brand . Ps your salt and peppers need filed up ..
