Found the service bad. On greeting staff and trying to make an order, I wasn't greeted in return but told curtly to move to the other end of the counter (two staff there and no queue). The server forgot to bring half of my order, when I asked for it I was spoken to like she didn't believe me, and when they eventually brought it, no apology was made. The coffee was small and unpleasant tasting.

Too expensive and small portions. This is leatherhead not central London. Overnight oats with blueberries, nuts etc £8 was very nice but very small portion. Wow it was like a kids portion. Tea for 1 £3, too high a price. My friend had avocado on toast £8 with only one slice of sourdough and she added eggs. No wonder Lucios is always packed. Much better value with larger portions. I’ll not be back sadly

Enjoyed cheese sandwich and black bean quesadilla - well presented and good taste (the quesadilla was a spicy/bitter flavour that may not be to everyones taste). Coffee was superb - they use a good couple of blends - served both as a cappucino and americano - you can also choose V60 filter at a premium.

Love Charlie & Ginger but had stale cinnamon roll. Mentioned to staff who nonchalantly said it was fresh ... no-one bothered to ask for a bit broken off to try, so they had no idea. I don’t often go all the way to Leatherhead for breakfast and coffee, but after a semi-sleepless night at the local, rather average but dirt-cheap, Travelodge, I felt that me and Mrs B needed a bit of a treat. Fortunately for us, we chose Charlie and Ginger. What an antidote to hotel mediocrity. Firstly, and this to me is really important … the coffee is fantastic. That’s a big tick. But the breakfast offerings were also great. Smashed ‘avo’ may have become a hipster staple, but this one was a cut above. Even the marmalade on toast was just a tad special. Other people in our group raved about the ‘Overnight Peanut Butter Oats’ and the Minted Berry Smoothie. Yes, maybe it’s a tad expensive for outside London (where last week I spent £3 for a single slice of toast!), but that’s life in these post-Covid days. Sod the cost (at least for this month) and enjoy.

Great cafe in Leatherhead. I had missed lunch as it was 3pm so had a lemon drizzle cake and a pot of tea and worked on my laptop as they provided me with the code. The lemon drizzle cake had a twist - really unusual and the tea was excellent. They close at 4pm as I was going to order again so I will go back for lunch. The unisex loos are immaculate (large Victorian style ones and spotless.) The staff (I’ve been in twice now) are really friendly (unlike the Blue Cafe round the corner) Finally they have a 5 star food hygiene rating. Great to have this in Leatherhead.

I went back three times this month for work meetings but I doubt I will go back.I quite like the shop itself, it’s got a nice modern feel about it; however the experiences I had were a bit disappointing. The first time I tried a coffee. It was bitter. The second time I tried earl grey tea. It was weak. I don’t remember what brand they use, maybe it’s not a very good one (or maybe it they didn’t pour boiling water on the teabag right away and let the water sit for a bit?). Anyway just wasn’t good. On my third visit I just ordered sparking water! The wait it long, 10 minutes as least. The person that takes the order also puts together orders such as cakes, and I think this delays the process I bit. But the most annoying thing about the place is the noise. There is no sound proofing at all and the music is quite loud. The bar is all in the open so there is a lot of noise coming from the coffee machine, the crockery being washed and put back, etc. You end up having to shout to one another in order to hear each other. My advice to management would be: move the till at the front rather than the side; get one person doing orders only. Move the cakes where the till is now, get another member of staff there only to prepare cake and cups ready for the baristas. Install panels around the coffee machine area and install soundproofing panels from the ceiling/walls.

There are two choices of cafe in Hookwood but we only ever go to Harris & Hoole - we generally go for breakfast on a Sunday just as the store opens when it's not too busy

Always a great experience and staff always act is everyone are long time friends. My fish and chips were exceptional. One of the best I’ve had since moving to England. Also, it’s dog friendly. Alwa
