Charcoal Grill in Woking

I ate at a kebab shop 2 days ago, this level of kebab preparation can only be seen in this shop, the workers are also very wonderful, everyone is hospitable and appreciates you, if I could I would give 10 stars

2 times in a row now they have gotten my food wrong

The food is of amazing quality, but the English girl who takes orders is very rude and doesn't pay attention. We ordered wraps and she gave us lamb doners in boxes. When I said that I ordered wraps, she has the nerve to say I didn't, just because she can't even take an order. To other native English speaking customers, she was polite and because I don't have a British accent she was rude. I've been a customer for years and honestly, you guys give great service. Do yourself a favour and get rid of her.

Love this place ❤️ Have shish keebab, salad seperate so doesn't make pitta soggy and you decide how much salad you have. Always fresh and yummy no waste. Staff are always friendly even though they are so busy but I totally understand as the food is 100 %.

Visited 4/05/2024, really bad service, gave one tiny dollop of sauce and charged extra for more after spending £15 on a kebab which is way over what it was worth. REALLY BAD SERVICE, so rude, would not recommend, if you have to go here bc nothing is open then I apologise on their behalf. Took 20 mins for a chicken doner and chips even tho we could see it dying on the stick infront of us. Kolbe the security was the only saving grace, god bless him. DO NOT GO HERE

I come here a fair amount, so wanted to post a review to offset some of the really poor reviews here. Charcoal has been our go to soon after we arrive in Woking some five years ago. We order over the phone, check the price, get the cash out and turn up when we're supposed to (usually 10-20 mins depending on how busy they are). The staff are lovely, friendly and efficient. Never had an issue and hope it stays that way. For us - the best chicken kebab in Woking.

After years using German Doner Kebab and being disappointed about their miniscule portions I decided to order a traditional doner kebab. Worst choice of my life. I have been constantly spitting bones since the beginning. Also not crispy, not tasty and chunky. And twice the price of German Doner Kebab. Never ever again.

Nov 2023. More expensive than ever now and whilst portions are good the quality is not the best and please check your order because it can be wrong. Aug 2022. No veg with the grilled chicken anymore and it's getting expensive...quality going down.

Our first time tonight 12/11/23 burgers and chips X3 awesome food, hot as well cooked to perfection. Will be going back again defo.

Great service, amount of food, great value and friendly staff I have been put down by other kebab places that are overpriced or I have had to call back and complain, or I have had to go back for an order correction but this kebab place does it just right

When I got home my veggie burger was a beef burger. This is the second time within a few weeks that they’ve got my order wrong. I phoned to make them aware & they weren’t especially bothered. Offered me a refund next time I go in….. sorry, there won’t be a next time.

I cannot recommend you stay any further away from this place. The most rude and disrespectful workers in the world, who do not take card to be purposefully unhelpful.

Instead of fresh I got a stale lamb donor. I was given a lamb donor which was made last night and refried again making it very dark and crispy.

Food was delicious and large portion sizes. Customer service was also very good and very friendly. Food was quick but clearly freshly cooked. Best kebabs!

Failed to follow simple instructions. Asked for a chicken sandwich with just lettuce and mayo, only to find they’ve still included tomato and onion. If you can order without certain ingredients through Deliveroo, I don’t see why it’s a problem in store? At least this one’s cooked properly I suppose.

Great kebab shop! Huge portions but you do pay a premium for them. It's more expensive than other kebab shops in the local area though. Kind and pleasant staff. You can't go wrong here. Your always get a banging kebab 👌🏼

Normally get a doner here most Fridays, no problem. Tonight not so good, Forgot the salad, cold meat, pita bread not even sliced open. Meat plonked ontop of it . Not pleasent at all. Thankfully my wife had chippy tea from Ozzys so she shared with me...

I usually order my kebabs from another kebab place but today I thought I would try Charcoal as it’s closer (live in Horsell) and the reviews are great. Me and my 2 children went to the shop this evening to place our order. It was super busy but we ordered a large lamb donner with salad and chilli/garlic sauce. Order Number 34. It cost £12 which is higher than normal for a kebab but with everything going up in price I understand. We waited outside for our order and it took around 40 minutes until our order was ready. Again I didn’t mind as the shop was very busy plus it’s a Friday evening. We got home and all I can say I was very disappointed. Donner is meant to be thinly sliced meat. Mostly our donner was just small bits of meat. Some of the meat was also under-cooked. Unfortunately as I was sharing it with my young children we had to stop eating it after finding bits under cooked (pink). The last thing I wanted was upset stomach’s. I am genuinely very disappointed. I believe the shop won an award in 2019 so I was expecting a great tasting kebab. I won’t be returning again and I am happy for the shop owners to contact me if they want to discuss my review further.

This was our go to for kebabs. Still would be but the prices (understandably given the cost of living) are now too much for us.

Called to place an order for collection, when considering whether we placed the order and waited, the person on the phone told us to “hurry up, he’s busy!” That type of service is not how you keep customers coming back! I appreciate they may have been busy at the time of our call, but this is no way to speak to customers! Disappointing is an understatement, I would avoid personally.

Best kebab shop for miles! Moved away from Knaphill a year ago but still make the 25 minute journey back for the best kebabs around. Keep up the good work guys!

Waste of money, when I get food from a restaurant I expect "restaurant" quality, chips were soggy and full of grease, the meat could have been cut in smaller pieces to fit the bread and the sauce would have been better put inside of the pita bread not all around it making it all wet and fall apart. Just poor preparation and greasy food.

The worst thing was preparing food without gloves. Put their hands on bread and meat, without gloves. I couldn't eat anymore. Dry fries, and I think the sauces were already bad. Taste of vinegar. Avoid

Ordered lamb donner.. they just shoved doner into nan bread and call it a day. (They dont mix salad, they place them in a small box for you to mix on your own). Bro one of the worst donner ive ever eaten, its greasy, oily and bland. One simply do not call that a kebab, thats just donner with bread. 0/10

Just been scammed by these lot. I agreed to pay for extra for two of their large mix grill. 8 chicken shish skewers and donner meat. They scammed me with 2 chicken shish skewers and Donner meat and charged me £41. I should have checked the boxes but wasn’t expecting this kinda rubbish. Don’t trust them. Bunch of scammers.

Wow.. I was starving about 9.30pm on a Tuesday nice, so I ordered a kebab with a salad side. It was absolutely amazing. So tasty, well presented and I was in heaven eating it. First time on ages I just wanted more and more. Cooked to perfection..lovely sauces..I can not recommend this place enough. I can't wait to order again..thank you!!

Everytime I’ve been here for food it has been consistently good. The meat is fresh and tasty & I like the salad on the side. The best locally.

I was pleasantly surprised when my delivery came and how hot the food was. I hadn't used this place before and was a bit nervous. The quality and the portion size were incredible. It was really tasty with lots going on. I had a small chicken doner and chips with lamb doner meat on them. It really was delicious and probably the best meat I've tasted in years. If I had one complaint which it is not was the portion size was too big. I will definitely be using the Charcoal Grill when I fancy a kebab again.

The food is good quality - consistent and very fair portion sizes - but the lack of debit card payments (cash only) is a real nuisance and a big inconvenience that means that I tend to buy kebab style food elsewhere. Not clear why Charcoal Grill only accepts cash.

Been here two weeks on the trot since we discovered this place. Tried the chicken kebab, kofte kebab and chef special should of lamb kebab. We loved all the meals, and like the fact they are generous with the sauces. Salads come separately in a tub which I also liked. We've ordered online and in store. It does get very busy on weekends so be prepared to wait. Would highly recommend and will be coming here again

I have never tasted a better kebab, the staff down at charcoal grill treat everyone with respect and kindness. The food speaks for itself and always using the freshest of products. From my experience and from others we can honestly say that Charcoal Grill in Knaphill is like no other! Go and get your kebab!!!

Food is amazing. One of the best kebab shops I have ordered from and I will definitely be ordering from then again in the future. Had tried the Combination kebabs as well the beef and chicken burgers and both did not disappoint. The food came on time as well and was well prepared and packaged. Would advise trying the mint sauce as it always gives that extra kick.

Without doubt the best chicken shish within woking environs. All portions are generous, including the really fresh, crunchy salad. Perfectly cooked and the salad is packed separately from the kebab, meaning that when you get your food home, the pita isn't soggy with salad and the lettuce is still crisp rather than having been cooked and wilted by the hot meat. Worth the drive or delivery time if you're not nearby.

Food tastes great but really overpriced, £6 for chips!!!!! plus another 3£ delivery all up for supporting local business but this is really going to far. Ordered a small Kebab and it was small much better outlets out there would advise to shop around so small kebab and chips plus delivery over £20 is wrong

Phoned to check order, late, as no receipt received, went to collect and they had thrown order away to cook totally fresh meal. First time going there as always seen queues outside it and it smells amazing. I can say that it won't be my last time. Best Burger I've had for a very long time. !! Ordered online at 6.30 and requested a 7.15 pickup. As soon as I walked in the food was ready !! Spot on

Ive been using the knaphill charcoal grill for many years, It's always on point and Price is very fair considering the portion you get (huge). No other kebab shop locally comes close. People leaving 1 star reviews because they made a mistake on the order is a bit unfair when they are such a busy shop. Mistakes will happen, That's life. I've never personally had a single issue with any orders (atleast once a month) and it's always cooked fresh and it's always piping hot. The shop is permanently spotless and the lads are all pleasant. Can't fault them.

Left work in Bracknell tried to phone but engaged then driving threw West End finally got threw to order they said 35 min wait as they had a £120 order very poor service will not be bothering with them again

Great place. Charcoal grill has become my new take way place in Knaphill. Polite stuff and good take away food. Would not go anywhere else. I would strongly recommend it to my fellow Knaphillians. 13/01/2021 - I like the fact that you can order food online and schedule it for either the same day or the next. Website is easy to use.

Best shish kebab I've had In a long while. No wonder they've won awards. Big portions and really tasty. Very reasonable prices too.

The kabab was cold below food temperature as I ordered it from just eat. I don't eat salad stuff and did put that on my order with saying no salad. The food was kind of cold and I think the kabab needed a little seasoning. However the nacho has to be the best even though they where slightly cold and the cheese was not hot and it went all in together. It was all fresh the cheese nice and fresh the peppers and chills where spot on probably the best nacho I have eat in terms of the local area. For this to get 5 stars the food needs to be warming and the kabab meet needs a bit of seasoning a pay a little attention to detail in terms of the orders as I don't eat salad with my kabab and I did put no salad on my online order. And the temperature of the food to be a bit warm when it comes to the door.

An exceptional kebab. The quality of the meat on the shish was top notch. Tender lamb and succulent chicken. A 10/10 kebab, will be back!
