Knaphill Gish Bar in Woking

I popped in as I was passing and suddenly fancied some chips. They didn’t disappoint me. The chips were delicious and it was great service with a lovely smile. I will be going back at the weekend to try more of their very extensive menu!

Rally generous portions, even the small is a large potion. Good value but most importantly is the delicious food. Beautiful cooked and wrapped for take away. We don’t go anywhere else for fish n chips. Worth the little drive there 💯

Always amazing food and service

We swapped from our local fish and chippie that had become very poor to Molly's about 10 months ago after trying out several in the local area - it was a close run thing between them and Knaphill Fish Bar. Both really very good at the time. We are on the hunt again. The problem is the inconsistency and last weeks was particularly poor with the fish being very small, the batter thick and flabby, the chips dry - seems to have lost it's way. Maybe it's the new staff that haven't got to grips with what they are doing. When fish and chips are so expensive you want to eat and enjoy it. Come on Molly's, I don't like marking anyone down - and it's not just me. NB We have a fish and chip supper night with friends on a regular basis and they say the same :-(

Lived in Woking area for 23 years and always find fish and chip shops hit and miss. Well this was amazing. Great food quality, portion sizes and staff really chatty and friendly. Will be back and will recommend to others. Thank you 😄😄

A great place for a fish and chips! Crispy batter and excellent chips all served with a smile by an amazing family. If your not interested in fish and chips though then I highly recommend you try their homemade Katsu bowls! Absolutely delicious and they are more than happy to walk you through the flavours and tastes if your like me and not sure what to try. I highly recommend a visit to this local delight!

Some of the best fish and chips I have tasted from the Knaphill Fish Bar, cooked freshly to order. Highly recommended and worth going out of your way for. You can tell the owners really care about the quality and the details of their food and it really makes a difference. The double-cooked chips are excellent - cooked to perfection with a nice crisp outside and soft potato inside as they should be, and the sea bass was also perfectly cooked with very nice thin, crisp batter, not greasy / oily. It is unusual to find sea bass on the menu at a fish and chip shop but the flavour is very nice and well suited to being battered and fried. Good sized portions and value, sea bass and chips cost £9.40 (cash only). Friendly service and a nice clean shop.

Fish order stated on menu as lightly battered, my piece was thickly battered and very oily, oil was dripping off. Not nice. Also no card machine!

Do check with them though before ordering because you never know when these establishments could change hands. There might be other halal fish and chips in the area but they are nowhere near this place in quality, taste and portion size.

Wonderful service. Allowed me to pay by bank transfer as I forgot to bring cash. Double fried chips are wonderful and the owners are so friendly and helpful. Great food and definitely one of the best in the area

Takes me back to 70's as a kid when Church said no meat on a friday so pay day the queue outside the fish n chips on a friday in every village and became a british classic and still is. Good service when after anyones first visit they remember your name and welcome u back with a smile and chat. Good Fish, Chips and mushy peas. Bring back the pineapple slice in batter ! Oh and the cigarette vendor on the wall lol. In old days apart solo cans of fizz ma used to get a bottle of nameless fizz. Gran used to get her bottle of stout from the chippie to be 'healthy' when its a friday.

Second time now that we have had undercooked fish. One of us ordered rock and the bone wouldn't come away. All four pieces of fish were inedible and went in the bin.

We have just moved and wanted to try our local fish and chip shop. The BEST fish and chips ever! Crispy batter, thick cod and lovely chips. Portion size was gigantic. A large cod and chips fed my husband and I really well. Would definitely recommend.

I use knaphill FishBar a lot anyway as they're the best chippy, however as of monday a a hole new twist! They introiduced home made Japanese's katsu curry. The portion is amazing, the sauce is incredible, chicken tender & simply amazing dish all round & I can't wait to taste the burger

We had 24 children fish and chip on Friday 2 June it was the worst food I have ever had chip was hard and the fish was all batter and very greasy would never go back there and I would say to people never book lots of meal from there no wonder they want to to pick up from back we will be going somewhere else next time

Went to give a try first time, really impressed with quality and size. Juicy tasty cod and very crisp chippy, remind me one of the best F&C experiences at seaside 10 years ago. Ordered 3 large fish and 2 large chips, way too much for 2 adults and 2 kids. Will definitely come back as regular.👍

Known the owner of this wonderful fish and chip shop and his family for many years even when they were on Goldsworth road Woking before Knaphill and his fantastic fish and chips has never let me down once, fresh, well cooked and very tasty with a wonderful choice menu on the shop wall, great food and excellent customer service, I always come here if I'm passing through Knaphill, I recommend this wonderful Fish and chips shop to anybody..

The food here is second to none. Only surpassed by the lovely warm hospitality and welcome. We have other F&C shops closer, but it’s 100% worth the drive. Thank you for making F&C Fridays a tasty joy. !

I did not realise fish and chips could be so good. Blown away by the quality (and quantity) of food here. Had a really lovely meal, and enjoyed chatting to the friendly staff as well! I really recommend it here.

Moved into Knaphill recently, and had a chat with a few locals about places to eat in the village. Everyone seemed to be raving about Knaphill Fish bar, and now I know why. The staff are amazingly friendly, headed up by an always smiling Sue. Ordered for 2 kids and 2 adults, so had a wide selection of food. Everything was cooked perfectly, I ordered a large cod, and was warned its normally big enough for 2 people, they were not wrong. All food was tasty, fresh and value for money. Yes you have to wait, but that price is worth paying to get freshly cooked food. My kids both said they were the best chips they had tasted from any fish and chip shop, and I have to agree. Worth a visit, you wont regret it.

Always a pleasure to visit when in the area. The menu selection is extensive and the food is always fresh and delicious. There's usually a short wait for our order to be ready, but the owners are very warm, engaging, and friendly people, who make the waiting time fly, whilst the food is more than worth the wait for the quality. An aside is that they have a small area on the left-hand side of the takeaway, where they showcase the environmental and wildlife concerns of their son, who does charity work for the WWF - and similar organisations - despite being no older than 8. Good people raise good children.

The staff are always so friendly every time you enter. The food is always great and of a really good standard. Definitely the best fish and chip shop in the area!

We have been going to this fish and chip shop for over 10 years and we love the service and the food. The cod is lovely, as is the battered sausage and the chips are plentiful.

We always said Horsell Fish and Chips were the best in the Woking area: not any more! After our first ever visit here today, Knaphill Fish Bar is now number one in our eyes. Lovely fish in a nice, crisp batter with chunky, not soggy chips. Massive portions, a small cod and chips easily enough for the two of us. Highly recommended. They are cash only, but plenty of cash machines nearby, so not a problem.

5 stars all the way, I can't fault the Knaphill Fish Bar. I've been going to them for over 10 years, very kind, genuine personalised customer service, the food is always on point and they cook in great time, quality and quantity. Love seeing the people who work there every time as it makes me very happy to have such a great experience getting food. I'll personally be sticking with the Knaphill Fish Bar as my number 1 for take-a-way / fish & chips, I do highly rate visiting the Fish Bar and trying at least once.

Best chippy in the village by far

We've lived in the area for almost 3 years but only just tried this place. The fish wasn't soggy and the chips are really good. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for some fish and chips.

This place is amazing and is hands down the best fish and chip shop in Woking, if not Surrey. Large portions at reasonable prices with great and wonderful staff who are super friendly. The chips are crispy and don't turn soggy when left in the paper on the way home. The fish, in particular the Cod is very crispy and generous in size. All in all would recommend to everyone I meet and this will easily become my local! Keep up the great work!
