Went to see the art gallery. The woman in the cafe told me it was shut and there were no paintings there. Found a slot from work to visit. Really looking forward to seeing art locally. The cafe woman asked if i liked art. She said she owned an Isherwood, There is nothing online about gallery being shut. I felt devastated as i drove home.

Went for Xmas lunch with my writing group, the Lightfooters. Had a delicious very filling meal for a very reasonable price and had to bring half the cake home as it was such a big peace. Staff very friendly and accommodating re allergies. Would recommend.

Lunch with friends. Has coffee’s before ordering our lunch. The flat white had to be re heated as it just wasn’t hot enough. The tuna sandwich was huge with salad and crisps. Would have liked to crusts cut off. Bread large and very thick slices. Unable to eat it all. Friend had chilli unfortunately it wasn’t to her liking thinks it may have been after taste of coriander or some other kind of spice that was used in the recipe. Never seen sweetcorn in chilli before. Nice garlic bread. Chicken Caesar was large the chicken had been defrosted in the microwave some slices were hot some were not . Left quite a lot of our lunch. Disappointed. Staff were helpful and pleasant .

One of my favourite local cafes! Food is lovely (the soup especially is incredible, all fresh and homemade! Flavours change and are all so tasty), great value for money, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Cakes are also homemade and amazing :)

So normally it seems to.be a pop in for art, local bakery and drinks kind of place. Tonight, and for a few others, it's a venue for comedy from comedians preparing for much bigger venues. Tonight Stephen Bailey (very funny) who is currently working with Katherine Ryan. So good we booked for another gig for someone we've seen before. Found staff to be really excellent.

Popped into the cafe for a brew and something sweet. Had a lovely pot of Yorkshire tea and a tea cake with my mum. There was a calm, chilled atmosphere. Staff were lovely and very prompt with our order. Will definitely pop in again next time I'm visiting Ormskirk to try the homemade soup, it looked delicious with a side of thick cut bread and butter!

Called in after looking at the art exhibition at the Gallery, we ordered two bacon barms from the advertised menu but told they haven't got any bacon, sausage barms? None of those either. Staff very apologetic but really didn't cut it, if it's on the menu it should be available, if it's not available it shouldn't be on the menu, simples! We went away hungry!

My father and I visited for the first time today. We were greeted and treated like old friends. A big fuss made of my elderly father. The food was delicious, plentiful and nicely presented. The vegetarian breakfast was really varied. They were very busy but still found time to do their job thoughtfully. The music is really ambient..we really liked the feel of the place and will certainly return. Many thanks!

Been a couple of times previously to Chapel Gallery Cafe however for the last 2 week's been for post ParkRun brunch & have to say food & friendly service has been exceptional. As 2 of us are also plant based foodies the vegan brunch is amazing fresh local foods & chef has really thought about combination, its far and away different from your usual vegan substitute foods in a brunch - delicious 😁🌱

Went here recently and had the soup and a sandwich for six pounds, usually when you get this in other cafes you get a smaller soup and just a sandwich and no side salad or crisps etc. when we got this the soup came in a small glass and you got half a sandwich not two rounds of bread with something in between but just one piece of bread cut in half, you did get a lot of filling and the ham was lovely but it looked like a child's portion and not what you get in most places. It was vry nice with a tiny bit of salad but very paltry.

Today I decided to visit the chapel gallery cafe, as you do I went for a lovely coffee with my friends. However one of my friends thought that the coffee was rather cold, so she sent it back, and from where I was sat I could hear the boss muttering profanities. I was disgusted, I cannot believe that a boss of any etablishment would use this language in front of customers. Everything else was lovely, although I think what I assume to be the boss should become more friendly as he’s working in an environment where he needs to be warming, and then everything would be perfect!

I have been here a couple of times now & can thoroughly recommend it. The coffee is the best I've had in a long time & the cakes are nice & fresh, unlike the dry offerings served elsewhere. It's dog friendly too, which is unusual. The proprietors are very friendly, coming out to talk to me about my dog. All in all, a great experience.

I visited the cafe at Chapel Gallery this afternoon with my mother in law and baby daughter. The cafe is easily accessible with a pushchair and there's plenty of space around the tables to park a pushchair. There are highchairs available to use.

Visited this cafe recently for lunch...very disappointed indeed. Food was expensive & not very nice. Uncovered food, cakes, etc. on display where people order and pay...most unhygienic! Not surprised that the cafe was almost empty over lunchtime on a market day. Sadly I won’t be visiting again.

Newly-opened café attached to the Chapel Gallery in Ormskirk serving fresh and delicious food at a reasonable price. The salads are particularly good, served with a range of fresh bread. We had this with a home-made soup which was very tasty. Highly recommended.

Lovely peaceful atmosphere for a family or friends lunch. Cafe is very spacious so plenty of room for wheelchairs or prams too and spotless toilets and changing facilities. Gallery is great also with a fantastic gift shop with locally sourced cards, jewellery and crafts. Well worth a visit.

Delicious, home made food was served with warmth and charm. I am normally very fussy about food I eat in restaurants but I could not fault the food here - It was delicious. The menu is small and I think that is always a good sign. All very fresh and tasty.

I went in for a coffee and teacake. I'm fussy about coffee and was happy to see they served Crosby coffee. There was a good selection of freshly made food and cakes. The selection of food is also suitable for those who like to eat healthily. The breakfast menu looks great too. I will definitely be back soon.

We had been to the Chapel Gallery and wanted a cup of coffee. The cafe is spacious and comfortable with a variety of sitting options. The staff were both welcoming and friendly and served us very quickly. Without being overbearing we were made aware that there was a range of lunchtime options available that were different to what one might have expected in such a cafe. The chef came out to introduce his menu and we were tempted. We had a mix of the plates on offer and found them to be both creative and truly delicious. Good range of temptation cakes! I strongly recommend a visit if you are in Ormskirk or nearby.

I have visited Bramley's several times over recent year and have always found it to be a lovely experience. I usually order the same Breakfast Bite and they always tweak it for me without any question. As previously mentioned, it's great to get an extra pot of hot water with tea. It's always a good cuppa, but can afford to have extra water and still be good. This visit I took my friend, who lives outside the area, she was really impressed and can't wait to bring her husband to try it next time The food is always good, with generous portions. It's great that it's independent and not a chain. Usually a good sign for fresh homemade food. Well worth a visit.

What an interesting conundrum, is this a 5 or a 4, I am going for a 4, and for the next few lines going to explain why. We were met, greeted and sat down, our pre meal drinks order taken effortlessly whilst we sat until our table was made ready; whilst waiting for our table, the staff kept our glasses topped up, in a nice provision of service. We enjoyed each course and from a technical prospective the food was masterly cooked and enjoyable, but that was it - enjoyable, there was no real dish that stretched or surprised the palate, which in my view is the sign of an aspirational restaurant not pushing its self. The level of service through the meal was excellent. Highlights of the meal - the cauliflower course and Hoggart slice / jus. Would I go back - certainly and will do so and the next menu change is made.

With no water in our village due to an accident and damaged pipeline, cooking at home wasn't so appealing so we headed off to our favourite bar and restaurant, the Corner House. The place was busy and technically full as many people had the same idea, but the staff rallied round to make room for us and despite them being run off their feet, the food and service was still absolutely fantastic. Congratulations to Luke and the rest of the staff, you really pulled it out of the bag... and this is exactly why we go back there time and time again. We couldn't recommend it more, 5 stars every time.
