Would just like to give the management a big thank you for allowing the group of people in on Saturday. There language was totally unacceptable and not only bad but as loud as they could shout. It was finalized by one of the female having a pint poured over her head, great stuff, 4 more faithful users gone from your establishment

We Had a lovely day in at the chapel . It was clean and had friendly staff. Was nice to meet the new manager he also assured us if we needed anything , he would help in anyway possible. Lovely place and food. You can definitely tell it’s no longer a weatherspoons from a few months ago, as our last visit was just rushed and un-enjoyed .We come from padstow and was well worth the journey . Thank you !

Stopped here while waiting to check in at our accommodation. Had a Wetherspoons feel but did find out it used to be. Had a few pints and a bite to eat. Food was good, not to bad on prices, but the cocktails cost a lot. Dog friendly so always a bonus. Nice friendly staff, well, he said he was the cook but sorted us out anyway, told me what was about in the area. Not a bad place to stop off at.

Popped into spoons as a group of 10 on a quiet Monday morning after a holiday away with friends as this was on the route home. Really cool looking building, no issues finding a table as was not busy even as a large group.Ordered all drinks and food on the app without any problems as you do normally wetherspoons. There were only two members of floor staff that we had seen so far so we expected service to be a little slow and that’s fine.It got to about 20 minutes since we had ordered and there was no sign of our drinks, which was an assortment of cokes, lemonades, 2 coffee mugs and a single beer + others. Nothing too extravagant or complicated. Very slowly drinks started to trickle onto our table one at a time, until 3/4 of us had drinks. Note that there was no apologies for the wait or indication of where the other drinks were.Food also started to turn up, which consisted of mainly pizzas and some breakfasts again, one at a time with minutes in between. At 45 minutes since we ordered, what I thought was my pizza had arrived. It was a plain margarita, except I had ordered with extra toppings of mushrooms and onion - I decided not to bring this up to the waitress given that it had taken so long to arrive and I just wanted to eat now so I just took it as it was. Several minutes later and about 3/4s of our food had arrived, and half our drinks were at the table. We decided to mention the drinks situation to the waitress who said that there was only two people working on drinks downstairs, but she did not apologise or if she would ask why was going on downstairs so this was frustrating. About five minutes later our drinks appeared on the bar behind us and left there but were not taken to our table.Another five minutes and my actual pizza turned up, the one with all the toppings!! So I rather guiltily and gingerly took this pizza too, but I don’t regret my decision or reasoning on the one I had already eaten given the time it took to actually arrive. My friends breakfasts were also not very hot.10 mins later now one my friends still had no food arrive, and our remaining drinks were still on the bar behind us. At this point we had enough, we collected our drinks still on the bar (we checked they were ours as the tickets on the tray were our table numbers) and me and my friend went downstairs to work out where a missing pepperoni pizza and coffee mug was. We spoke to the waitress we had and were given the missing coffee mug, but were told that because we had eaten the plain margarita (which was apparently meant for another table) they hadn’t given us the pepperoni and she said we could have pepperoni put on the margarita instead. We said this wasn’t good enough, and explained why I had the plain margarita and that our friend still hadn’t eaten well over an hour since he ordered. The waitress then went into the kitchen and bought out the pizza we were missing. The waitress explained twice to all of us that they had gotten confused with the order, with the extra pizza toppings and drinks, (which frankly wasn’t that complicated) but the way she lingered at the table while she explained what had happened suggested that she expected us to pay for the extra pizza I had accidentally eaten. She didn’t explicitly say this but the way she acted suggested it, and she did wander off downstairs eventually. Despite all of this, there were no apologies for the time we waited, and the ‘manager’ who occasionally appeared upstairs clearly had no idea what was going on, as he was idle downstairs most of the time. There’s a difference between being busy and understaffed, and being quiet and just kinda useless. This spoons was the latter, which was a shame given it’s stunning location. We left very disappointed.TLDR: Immensely slow to bring out food and drinks, adequate food, sloppy standards, worst spoons we’ve been to. Just poor, and disappointing, to be honest.

Cheap food cheap drinks, what more do you need to know, lovely building, tricky for the disabled, as a lot of steps or a very steep incline, luckily despite being overweight with the aid of the railings I made it easily up and down. Pubs in general are fairly quite and with two bar staff I had no time to wait to be served on both occasions I went to the bar. I can never get the app to work and the numbering on the tables was a bit dodgy. In some spoons I’ve been to they have brass rings with a stamped number embedded in the table I thin they could use something like that, but hey ho I’m quite happy to walk to the bar.

Firstly, as a building, this is a stunning venue: an old chapel converted into a Wetherspoons. As we had the dog, we opted to sit on the terrace in front of the pub. Quick look at the menu and in to order. The young lady behind the bar was very pleasant, apologising that the Doombar was off for half an hour for cleaning. No problem. Food and drinks orders placed. I asked for a pint of water for the dog and was told that the water is at the end of the bar and help myself.Out to Mrs B with drinks and back in to collect the pooch's water. Literally 30 seconds, I passed a young lady wearing an earpiece (possibly a supervisor or MI5), Mrs B informed me that said young lady snapped at her and another couple with a dog on the terrace, "Has no one spoken to you? Dogs aren't allowed!" Mrs B (having worked in customer service for many years) calmly informed this young lady that we had already purchased food. "Oh well, we'll honour it."This young lady actually saw us on the terrace as she came to start the shift. So from a great beginning, the customer service rapidly went down hill. Possibly she needs training in how to deal with customers. Then the food arrived. Within 10 mins. The pie was lovely but the Maris Piper mash was microwaved, to the extent it had crusted. Mrs B's cheeseburger, the cheese had not even been melted, just slabs of cheddar. And cold chips. So a stunning location was let down by shoddy customer relations from one member of staff and poor food. Our dog was happy. He had his water and was better behaved and quieter that some of the other clientele. Shame really. We just left, totally disheartened.

The main attraction is the conversion of an 1840 chapel into a pub. It was very busy when we were stranded in Bodmin one Sunday. (NOTE: Bodmin is a long way from Bodmin Parkway Station). The food was cheap and uninspiring-you get what you pay for.

What an unfortunate dining experience! We arrived as a family of 8 and quickly told there was room for us upstairs. Most of our party had to go back downstairs to order because the beer choices upstairs were so poor. Things didn’t get any better as 4 of us waited for our food for nearly an hour and it arrived only after chasing it up and after the rest of our party had finished their meals. My husband had to go through 4 different menu choices as everything was sold out, no mixed grills, no cod & chips, no ploughman’s and eventually settled on a chicken & avocado salad. My burger arrived cold, crispy and tasteless (it was obvious it had been sitting under a heat lamp for ages) and my husbands salad was pathetic. Watery, tasteless avocado and some wilted lettuce leaves. The children’s pizzas were cold, but they were so hungry, they ate them! To top off a terrible experience, a visit to the loos found them in an unhygienic state, evidenced by the toilet cleaning roster which confirmed they had not been checked since 3pm! It was nearly 9pm by the time we used them. This restaurant may appeal to your pocketbook, but certainly not your tastebuds or customer satisfaction.

Although it's our local Wetherspoons we think it is one of the best. The building has very tastefully converted from a chapel making very pleasant surroundings. Staff are very friendly and food usual good value for money.

Really big pub/restaurant in Bodmin town centre. Wetherspoons , long bar area and huge open room, actually an old church. Lots of areas to chill inside and out. Restaurant area tables for those chiding to dine. Would recommend. Only problem could be the many steps leading up to the entrance from the road.

Firstly and most importantly always take your jumper/coat air-conditioning was too cold and we saw several diners eating in their coats. Secondly, before you get your mouth ready for food check they have it in stock, 4 of the items we asked for were out (we are a party of 6, 4 adults and 2 young children). Cheese and onion pasty cooked too long, but that was replaced and was much better the second time. No real apology from the staff for the issues. Wished we hadn't bothered, should have gone to The Borough instead, they are much better at what they do.

After our last visit we decided to come back again on our second holiday - we managed to get given a voucher booklet so saved money on food and drink which was great. They were doing some work so it was a little noisy but didn't stop us enjoying ourselves. Plenty of choice, even more than last time - we will definitely be visiting again!

We arrived to find that there were lots of steps leading up to this pub on a rainy Sunday afternoon! Although there is a slope, it's locked!! Great fun with an elderly lady, wet steps and a pram that was!Food came up pretty quickly, once you were able to get served at the bar but it was only warm, rather than hot. So guessing it had been stay for a while before coming out to us. An unusual place for a pub but we like that, hence picking to eat there but we would not return.

We were in Bodmin, we were hungry, so we went to Wetherspoon's.This is a lovely old building, with bars and dining rooms on two levels. As it was noisy downstairs we decided to go upstairs. It was very spacious, with many tables from which to choose. For our dinner we both chose the fish & chips. We didn't have to wait very long. It was nicely served, with large portions, and very tasty.Recommended.

Visited for cheap meal out with family. You cannot fault Wetherspoons. No ones main course was more than £10 which included a drink, mine was a steak, and all were really good. Obviously this isn't fine dining, but they're very good at what they do.

Say what you like about Wetherspoons, but they do provide a guarantee of decent beer and value for money food in places where you would otherwise struggle to find either. Places like Bodmin, in fact: once Cornwall's county town, now a rather sad, grey, down at heel sort of town, its main shopping street given up almost entirely to pasty shops, charity shops and betting shops. We found ourselves there en route to the far west of Cornwall, after we'd found our way to the excellent Blisland Inn blocked by the never-ending A30 roadworks. I consulted my Good Beer Guide app, and discovered the Chapel. I don't know what the teetotal Methodist founding fathers of the place would make of its current use, but it is certainly a striking conversion, which has retained most of the chapel's original features - including a splendid organ. The gallery has been extended to form a comfortable and stylish first floor, which you reach by the original, very handsome staircase. The offering is the standard Wetherspoons, but none the worse for that. We both had burgers, mine accompanied by an excellent pint of locally brewed beer (IPA from Cornish Chough), my wife's by a glass of Chardonnay. The bill came to a modest £15 or so. We went on our way westwards replete and content.

We came in not knowing that it was a Wetherspoon. No pre-conceptions, but we'd have hoped it was a more local, maybe one-off pub. We ordered using the app, which is very practical, and all the discounts were applied at the end. Very good value actually! Steaks (14oz rump) were the best we'd had in a long time, and the place was nice and appealing (if you don't mind the cross decorations all over the place). Quick service, good value, nice surroundings and excellent food, what else do you want?Besides, Bodmin was empty, probably because just about everyone was in here on this Friday evening!

Festive Afternoon Tea this afternoon was very disappointing. It is clearly a stop gap to keep income trickling in between Sunday lunch and evening dinner service. The biggest issue is with the service, very inattentive, unconcerned staff not in the slightest bit interested in providing a professional level of attention. The afternoon tea was acceptable but not exactly delightful let alone memorable or to be recommend to others. Delightful setting with the hotel beautifully appointed and well decorated for Christmas, just a pity the staff were not switched on at all. Management at fault and it would appear no investment made in staff training.

For a spot of lunch, my wife and two children decided to eat here. Never again. We settled on the beef style kebabs (on a skewer). With rice. The beef was tough, tastless, rough and badly cooked. I was a butcher, I should know! Rice was microwaved but still undercooked! The salad that came with it was soggy, rotten and floppy. The best part of the meal was the kids fish goujons. We spent 70 quid (including drinks) on some of the worst food I've eaten.
