Excellent freshly made baguettes, lots of Italian authentic goodies to buy, olives to die for. Can fully recommend. Sit down and have a delicious coffee, sooo reasonable to.

Complete Disappointment. Waste of time and money. There's so many nicer places to go to for food than there.

I visited the Cribbs Causeway branch on 11th July. I've been a patron of Chandos Deli for years since the early days on Whiteladies Rd. I regularly use the Henleaze branch and love the Exeter one too. I shall however be giving The Mall a wide berth & go to Carluccio when I'm up there. The woman who served me was surly, sarcastic & clearly hating her role. She is possibly Hungarian and I imagine was able to turn on the charm during her job interview but she sure wasn't showing any on Tuesday. I just hope she's kind to the young lad she had working with her as he was a sweetie. The smoothie I had was overly sweet and undrinkable.

Have been here a few times; their cannoli are amazing ! Had a fantastic cappuccino and cannoli yesterday and it’s just a lovely experience (Sicilian lemon my personal favourite). Friendly service and good people watching spot.

This is in regards to Chandos Deli in Henleaze Road. We bought quite a lot of takeaway food from there during the lockdown. We got hooked on the quiches. However last week my husband bought us 2 quiches for lunch. They were so disappointing as they were raw and runny in the middle! When I phoned the Henleaze store up, I wasn’t offered an apology or a refund, but asked if we had any photos of the runny quiche. Poor customer service and we no longer will shop there, having been loyal customers for some months.

I went here on Tuesday evening and had the best coffee and blondie ever! They mixed so well and was recommend by the girl behind the counter! I was unsure of this place before but was very impressed. The service was great and very friendly. My son is very socially inept but felt so comfortable with the atmosphere here! Definitely recommending to my friends! Cant wait to visit when I’m next at the mall and hopefully thank the girl herself for her service and hospitality 😁

I am mildly nut intolerant. After a long wait in the queue at the Cribb’s Causeway branch I asked if the millionaires shortbread contained nuts. The girl on the till said it didn’t. The barrista then turned around and told me as the food was all prepared in a kitchen that prepared food with nuts so it might be contaminated.. I said I understood and that was fine but she gave me a long lecture the gist of which was they wouldn’t serve anyone who had a nut allergy. I tried to explain that not everyone is so allergic that they have to avoid traces of nut (I’m a doctor) but she just kept interrupting me and saying I couldn’t buy any food! If the company policy is they won’t serve anyone who has a nut allergy they should put a notice up so people don’t waste their time in the queue. I really cannot see why restaurants can’t provide at least one nut free option. If there was no gluten free or veggie food people would create a fuss. Nut allergy is more common than gluten intolerance.

Good produce. Clifton store: appear to be two men than run the place. One is extremely nice and knowledge my about the products, friendly and makes me want to return. The other (visit of Saturday 23 March) is a horrible, ride and abrupt arrogant man with no manners - needs to get a grip on reality. Avoid this place - not worth being treated in such a vile way. Real shame - hope this guy learns some manners and learns how to respect himself, the shop And his customers - without whom he’d be jobless!!

Extremely disappointed. My husband and I were given an very generous and thoughtful gift of a voucher for the Chandos deli as a wedding gift, this voucher came in the form of individual £25 paper vouchers. We went in at the weekend and bought some sandwiches and a few other bits with no issue (total was around £50 and we paid with 2 of our £25 vouchers). We decided to go back today on our lunch break to get some sandwiches. We picked up 2 sandwiches and a packet of eggs. The total came to £13. We handed over another £25 voucher only to be told that we had to spend exactly the value of the voucher, any less and the remaining balance would just be lost as no change could be issued or a replacement voucher for the remaining balance. The member of staff got quite irate with us at this point and was extremely rude. He claimed that this was standard practice in all shops and businesses.....I know for a fact that this is not the case having received a lot of vouchers from many different shops and businesses over the years. Even ryan air who are famous for terrible customer service don’t make you use an entire voucher in one go. Obviously we could have gone around the shop and picked up items we don’t need to make up the value but we didn’t want to do that...we had just spent £50 in the store a few days previously so are well stocked up on fancy store cupboard items. When we told the member of staff that we didn’t want or need anything else he just shrugged....obviously he didn’t care as the Chandos deli already have our money. Maybe he’s hoping we never come back and the deli gets to keep all the money without having to give out any goods in return. It’s a pretty poor system that a deli only issues vouchers to the value of £25 pounds when most people who visit will likely just be picking up a few bits and it’s rare the spend would be close to or over £25 (I have visited the deli many times myself in the past and usually just bought a sandwich or two and maybe a coffee, before we went last weekend I had never come close to spending £25). I don’t see why customers should be penalised for the outdated voucher system your store uses. We took the voucher back and left the sandwiches after us. To be quiet honest we were treated so badly that neither of us ever want to go back to the shop again and we certainly don’t want to go in and spend £150 just for the sake of it. We are going to report this back to the friend who got us the voucher and are hoping that she might be able to get a refund for the remaining amount. Extremely disappointed.

This was my first and last visit in Chandos Deli on Cribbs Causeway...why... because service is terrible. I went there for meeting with my friend, so we went to the bar to make the order, waiter was very unkind and grumpy ( I understand that everyone can have the bad day but when you work with customers you should keep smiling) she just put the cakes on the plate without forks so I asked kindly for some forks.. We ordered two cups of coffee and she just leave them on the bar without calling us to come to take them..just I am wondering why me and my friend were only persons who have not been served by waiters like other customers??? The place and atmosphere are making the people who working there so I am not going to go there ever again!!!

What a shame, I went in to buy one of their lovely quiches but while I waited to be served, several flies were walking all over the uncovered food. I asked if they had any that weren't out on the counter but they didn't. I was told that "it's that time of year". It's a shame they don't cover them with some greaseproof paper or a glass dome. Bad hygiene and it's put me off eating from there again. Poor show Chandos Deli!

While waiting in the queue to access the shop, I saw 4 flies crawling all over the Portuguese custard tarts in the window. On entering the shop I pointed this out to the young woman serving, who replied ‘I know, there’s nothing we can do about it ‘ . To which I replied ‘ yes there is, you can cover the food to prevent flies crawling all over the food’. She just shrugged. I won’t be returning.

Good choice of bread, cakes, meats, fish and coffee etc. cheese counter looks excellent. I’ve been a couple of times and there are a couple of members of staff, a man and a woman who are slightly passive aggressive- I asked the woman if she had a nice soft cheese and she said , ‘I don’t know what that means’ - she appeared irritated by the reasonable question. And the fellow corrected my northern pronunciation of cafetière in a humourless irritated manner. It’s as if they feel they are beneath serving you.

One of the best cheesemongers in the increasingly competitive Bristol cheese scene; great fresh bread and sandwiches. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, never too busy to talk you through your options and provide expert advice.
