Lovely hidden gem. Friendly service, welcomed us and our children. Provided chalk for our kids to draw on the slate tables which was a novelty they loved. Excellent quality food - I had the choucroute which had a great selection of meat. Also one diner had a gluten intolerance and the team had a fantastic understanding of what this was and were very accommodating. Will happily go again.

The top french restaurant in London, had the chicken and the soufflé. Others in my group had the steak and steak tartare. The desserts was awesome and the service impeccable. A true french gem just round the corner from Chancery Lane tube. We be definitely coming back for more french cuisine delights.

We visited Gazette Chancery for a Christmas Party for 24 people. We had a limited budget of £30 per person, and were more than impressed! The manager, Mady, couldn’t have offered better service. From the moment of initial contact, she organised every element perfectly, easily collecting orders online, contacting guests personally regarding dietary requirements to ensure they were accommodated for, and handling all necessary admin. The venue has a beautiful, homely atmosphere, full of character and warmth. The food was served promptly and beautifully presented. The flavours were delicious and portion sizes were good given the budget per person. We couldn’t have asked for any more from our experience and would have no hesitation in returning. Thank you to Mady for such a brilliant and friendly service.

Gazette is a beautiful dining experience. The waitstaff could not be more lovely and kind. The food is INCREDIBLE and thought is put into every single dish to make it excellent. The environment is very nice. This is a wonderful place to eat every meal!

This place is just so French which is just what I wanted, It was great,friendly service and lovely cuisine! Will be back if in area! Had lovely beef specialty main and great dessert!

This is really hidden diamond in London in the middle or the City. Service is really good and please do take their recommendation as the food and wine are excellent!

The nicest people! The eggs with mushroom was great! It's located on a quiet side street but only a 5 minute walk from the Strand. Worth it.

Very friendly service and well made food at absolutely reasonable prices. The tarte fine (apple tart) for dessert was delicious!

Booked for lunch with a friend and, on a weekday, it was very busy with a great, buzzy atmosphere. In spite of being so busy, the service was prompt and attentive. The food was excellent; we both had the roast scallops for our main course, which were delicious, and the tarte fine was an ample portion for us to share! The restaurant is a very short walk from Chancery Lane station, but in a quaint tucked away location. Most of the other diners seemed to be parties of work colleagues, so it obviously quietened down after lunchtime and the staff were very happy to let us chat over tea and coffee without rushing us.

Fantastic experience with excellent service and delicious food. The steak tartare is a must get for anybody looking for the full experience. Truly not lacking in any regard, would recommend to anyone in the area looking for a quality meal.

On a Saturday night the restaurant was vey quiet, perhaps its the location. Cannot understand why a couple was put at the next table so close to us. The grilled octopus was not as tender as we had elsewhere. The Rillettes de Canard ie duck rillettes, grilled tartine and condiment was in a jar with a top layer of fat. That is understandable as it is duck but would have preferred the rillettes served on the grilled tartine. The day's special is an equivalent of pot au feu was very disappointing as it consisted of sausage, ham and sauerkraut,

Tucked away, but excellent in every way. Happened to have lunch here today with my daughter. Superb food, helpful friendly staff, quick service, lovely warm ambiance on a cold day and very good value. JUT GO!

Love this little Brasserie just across Chancery Lane. Been here both with friends and for business lunch / dinner. Nice decor - a little touch of France in the city. Very good menu selection with fairly decent prices. My ultimate favourite remains their Steak Tartare - which is so so yummy. It is prepared in front of view and a good size. Always recommended. Will keep comilng back regularly

The food is lovely. The wine is great. Give it a go. It’s well worth a visit. We have always eaten well here.

If you would like to wait for two hours for a cold starter that should be hot and watch other tables arrive, order, eat and leave in that time with no apology or refreshment - then this is the place. Appreciate it is Christmas silly...

Food was great, better than your average steak house. Other items (snails, mussels) just as rich and deep in flavour. Ordered the frogs leg but didn't try it, was told it was flavoursome too. The starters arrived quickly but the mains took longer than expected....

I ate at Gazette with friends this evening. Starters of moules, charcuterie and steak tartare were all good. Mains were v poor. The squid risotto was tasteless (literally squid on soggy rice - no hint of stock or seasoning); the stonebass with razor clam on...

I've been here a few times for lunch, with work. Context set- I'm just bewildered by the ongoing incompetence and arrogance of the service team. I think today's experience was kitchen-led, they obviously had a massive fail that left us waiting an hour and 45...

Despite the restaurant being far from full the service was very poor. One senior member of staff was rather rude, making several inappropriate comments - he obviously didn’t want us to be there! I also noticed that he emptied the ashtray by chucking the contents...

Visited yesterday (same day as previous reviewer damage7899?) but had a much better experience. Restaurant was very busy when we arrived as there was a group booking in one half of it, but we still got good service. My risotto was lovely (and not cold!)...

Nice place, French themed and quite busy but not overly so. Our food took 80 minutes to come to the table and no explanations until we asked what was going on. My friend asked for some bread and it appeared immediately but why not think...

Authentic French bistro cuisine with warm friendly waiter. Outstanding food, excellent wine list sensibly priced and lovely decor. I could go on - but genuinely if you’ve missed France in the pandemic, pop in here and you can imagine you’re there for an evening.

Fantastic front of house service and beautiful food. Here for my 19th birthday and enjoyed the beef tartare and duck chefs special, with house white and a congac digestif All absolutely unbelievable!!

Have been twice inside a week and will return, Very pleasant and a personable service with lovely food to boot. Had the Skirt Steak with fries and veg sides. Would recommend, be it for a business lunch/dinner or with friends/family.
