Stumbled on this cafe off the main street by accident, so glad we did! Excellent chicken curry, packed with meat, and a tasty chicken burger with outstanding chips. Two big cups of strong tea - all thoroughly enjoyable, reasonably priced and served by a pleasant polite young man. We will be back!

I wanted the pie, peas, chips and gravy but they had no pies left (I went near closing time). Instead they put the beef in gravy they use for baguettes on the plate and it was so, so good. Absolutely hit the spot and you won't find better chips in Northallerton, proper homemade ones. The breakfast here is legendary too and the staff are great. I love this place.

this is a hidden gem that could easily be missed as it is off the main street but is a must to visit if you enjoy freshly cooked good quality food at reasonable prices. I ordered the parmo which was freshly prepared for me and one of the best I have ever eaten and half the price of most places. The portions were huge and I would choose to eat here over any other place in Northallerton

Happened across this place by chance and decided to pop in for breakfast. I had the full English breakfast and I've got to say that it was great. Not only was the food well cooked and well presented but it tasted delicious, especially the local black pudding. It was also fantastic value for money as it also included either a mug of tea or an instant coffee. I opted for an americano with mine and it still came in at under a tenner. The staff were also welcoming and friendly. Next time that I'm in Northallerton I shall be popping in again for breakfast.

On our first visit to Northallerton, during April 2023. We came across this cafe, and decided that it was time for a coffee and a bite to eat. In our opinion this was a good choice, this is a popular place, the food was really good the coffee was nice. The staff were really nice, friendly and welcoming. We sat outside taking in some of the springtime sun and as typical of people from this part of the world, almost everyone spoke to us and one lady even opened the treats that she had purchased for her dogs to treat our dogs.

Greeted by Emily lovely young girl, friendly and professional, nice clean uniform dress. Ordered a Scone and nice proper tasting coffee, It's nice to be served real butter, very delicious 😋. If want real tasting coffee and proper homemade fresh food then this is the place to go. Also it looked like there was no toilet and washroom facilities but there is behind the counter. The Central Coffee house also sells its coffee and other food gifts to take away. Unfortunately they had ran out of my favourite Chai but I had an alternative and wasn't disappointed. Normally they have a special s board but selling out is proof that their food is delicious Happy Christmas 🎄 to all of you. Warm cosy atmosphere and tables are cleaned straight away, not left like rivals Bettys/costa/neros I will recommend 💯 % and pass on to work colleagues and friends. T.A

This is a gem of a cafe off the main street in Central Arcade. The full English is absolutely delicious, egg cooked to perfection, generous portions with fried bread to boot and well presented, faultless. Brilliant value for money. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Whenever we happen to be in Northallerton, we make a beeline for this place.

I found this little cafe by accident. Outside seating was the thing that drew me to it. Despite it being a November day it was not cold outside. £7.95 for an exceptionally well cooked breakfast including tea. or coffee and toast. Every bit of food on the plate was piping hot and did not go cold despite the fact we were sat outside. I liked the fact every table had hand sanitizer on it. People were asked to wait outside for a table which I also thought was very well organized and people did not have to wait long as staff were so on the ball. The breakfast produce was all good quality and the local farm actually delivered the eggs whilst we were there. Staff were really friendly and I did go inside to pay and it was spotless. Everything on the menu was reasonably priced including a kids menu for £3.50. Will have no hesitation in going again.

We stopped here on our way up to Edinburgh. We both had the Yorkshire breakfast. It was delicious! Fresh ingredients served nice and hot with crunchy granary toast. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the service was efficient. Also it is very clean and spacious so plenty of room for pushchairs/wheelchairs. Great cappuccinos and the cafe is dog friendly. All round winner!

Under new management in past month: now it's Keith & his Thai wife, whose name wasn't given. Good coffee and both friendly & welcoming. Have not been here before so cannot provide 'then & now' comparison, but think it's certainly worth a visit.

We were staying close by for a few days so decided to try here on our way home from Whitby. The pub is dog friendly which is always a bonus. The welcome from the owner was fantastic and he couldn’t do enough for us and our 2 dogs. The menu is excellent with something for everyone, with a good selection of veggie options. I had the koftas and my wife had the lamb casserole both of which were excellent. Highly recommended

Went for a Sunday lunch and ended up having 3 courses. (I skipped breakfast). I like arancini and so went for them - must say best I've eaten! Had beef for Sunday lunch, which came with loads of veg. The cauli cheese wasn't as I would make at home, but it knockes the block off those you find at carveries up and down the country. Baked and cooked to perfection. The pureed carrot was lovely, as was the parsnip and mash. Beef was good, but mine had a run of inedible connective tissue on the edge. Gravey is divine, and I finished with a lovely sticky toffee pudding on a lake of toffee sauce - my fav. And again, lovely. A special shout out to the camp male server who was fan-tas-tic darling! Very confident , helpfull and hard-working individual - an asset to the establishment. These were the great points, and for me and my guests, I'd like to feed back some constructive improvements. The main, on the whole, was great, but for me, I thought the roasted potatoes were a bit bland and dry. There is a massive yorkshire pudding served, which, again, was a bit dry/stale and bland. That was the only real negatives with the food, although the wife said she wasn't overly keen of the beatroot dish. Here is a couple of suggestions from the females in our group - could do with a hook on the back of the toilet door to hang handbags on and, to improve the atmosphere, maybe a few flowers on the tables? Will we visit again? Certainly, when next time in the area.
