We had fish & chips from here & were left feeling very disappointed. The chips were fine, but the fish was terrible. The quality of the fish was very poor indeed, & the batter was very thick & the fish was very dry. We won’t be going back here.

Hadn't been able to get here for 2 years. Came and found out it's as good as ever! The fish is beautiful - the chips, well they know what they're doing. Have eaten here many times in the last 5 years. It's always good. Never a long wait and the staff are incredibly friendly. I don't bother with the other chippy's in town. They're just not as good or consistent. You do know it's been a chippy for over 100 years and the current owner has been there for over 15 at least. Love you guys!

I only got chips, sausage and curry sauce! Chips were cold, soaked in oil still and rock hard inside, sausage isn’t even cooked and the curry is honestly rancid. Would have taken back if it wasn’t for it being closed! Easily the worst chippy I’ve ever got. Awful.

What happened to social distancing ? Or is that a thing of the past? Back to normal ? We travelled through an area of Preston today and I took observation from chip shops along our journey. They seemed exceptional . There was only 2 being served in the shop itself with a socially distanced queue outside so I felt quietly confident that when our pre ordered food from Cemetery chippy would be the same. How wrong was I? Packed shop but still with a queue outside. How back to normal do people expect at this time with infection rates on the increase yet again ? Have respect for each other . Or is it all to do with getting our money back that we lost over the 2 years ? Not a good or healthy approach. Not happy and won't be returning anytime soon unless they make people respect though the food and service was as good as always.

We go every week and its always superb. Staff are lovely, very quick to serve and always get it right.

Colne resident not the nearest to me but in my opinion the best. Often a que but fast moving thanks to friendly efficient staff would recommend

This chippy has the be the best in miles around. Been several times and never fails me. Quick polite friendly service and the food is faultless. Prices are unbeatable

Never disappointed, staff are al ways polite and the food 2nd to none. I've tried others but always go back to Mr Lee and his lovely wife Maureen.

We had been planning to eat out but were unable to do so last minute. Nothing in? No problemo - call in to the Cem Chippy and wow - it's ready and available quicker than you expected. So lovely to have the cod ready and waiting, thank you. Batter all good with good thick pieces of fish inside. Real potatoes used for the chips, great stuff. Mushy peas better than expected and that gravy - wow. Fish will never be the same again without the gravy... All good, fully recommended. Thank you for saving our evening together and our not being hungry.

Always good service and tasty fish and chips! If you're from Yorkshire like me, you might prefer to ask for a lightly battered fish!

I usually get a large haddock and small chips and they are always great! The batter is crisp, the fish is a decent size and of good quality and the chips are nice too! The portion sizes and price and reasonable and having eaten in a few other chippies in Colne, this is far and away the best one around....

ALWAYS VERY FRIENDLY. Fresh cooked fish and not long to wait. A very popular place. Will always go there.

Don't often go to a chippy nowadays and a few recent experiences have been poor so was great to get a lovely large fish and good chips at a reasonable price. Have made a mental note to come more often!

We used to have our dinner from here two, three times a week when I worked in Colne. Now I work in Burnley and I miss my chippy dinners. I don't think I could have ever complained about anything we have ever had from here. The standard has been the same for years and that is excellent.

Sadly only visit a few times a year, whilst in the area, but this chip shop never fails to please. Tasty chips, huge succulent flaky jumbo haddock (@£4), steamed steak puddings, plus all the usual chip shop fayre. Friendly, helpful staff and it takes credit / debit cards. Street parking.

Call here for tea a couple of times a month.Great selection of food along with ice cold pop to wash it all down with. The service is very brisk and polite.Often there are people queuing outside. Don't let this put you off. There very well organised as is the fryer whom has everything ready to go to keep up with the customer foot fall.The best chippy for miles around !

Always friendly, always fabulous meals. Only use this chippy about 3 times a year, when in the area, but never disappointed. It closes much earlier than chip shops I’m used to, in the South, but eat early and you’re in for a treat.

Lee and his wife are aways welcoming, they have a good selection on their menu and do fish with very little batter if you ask on entering the shop (for the dieters among you), The food is equally as good at lunchtime as it is at tea time. Enjoy

The owner and staff are very friendly and efficient. Always a smile and hello. The fish is crispy and tasty. Chips hot and fresh. Curry sauce is tangy. Best chippy in Colne.

Having seen that this establishment had won the chip shop of the year in 2016 I had intended to give it a try for several months. Today I managed to do just that.

Ask anyone in Cole and they'll say Cemetery's the best! Always freshly cooked, no soggy chips here. Lovely jolly staff. You'll not be disappointed.

La tienda es siempre muy limpio y ordenado y el personal muy agradable y la comida excelente. No hay mucho más que decir la verdad.

Personal muy amable, el servicio rápido, amplio aparcamiento, con un menú variado, buena reputación, bien vale la pena repetir.

Consistentemente muy por encima de la media. Todo el pescado es fresco y perfectamente los gustos maltratada. El personal es siempre amable y atento. Yo no iría a ningún otro sitio en esta zona. Genial.

We visit Colne about three times a year and always end up having a fish & chip supper one evening during our stay. This chip shop is consistently excellent and reasonably priced. My wife always has the Northern delicacy of steak pudding, chips, peas and gravy whilst I have the large haddock, chips and mushy peas. Both excellent and huge. Friendly staff. For me, as a Southerner, the shops early closing time of 7:30pm is it's only downside.

Been going here for years: Big portions, reasonable food and fair prices. The service is always fast as well.

Tasty tasty tasty, delicious, generous portions and not ridiculously priced! My favourite chippy without a doubt! Everyone seems really nice who work here too! Can't fault! Well worth s visit.... You'll defo be back.

Been several times and the food is always excellent. Portions are a good size. Prices are reasonable and the service is friendly. Would recommend you give it a try.

Cemetery chippy has always done good fish and chips. Staff are always friendly and helpful and its a good clean chippy.

This is the best chippy around only found it by chance and now if we fancy fish and chips even travel 2 towns over Nice staff very quick service good all round if you are near and hungry you just got to try it

Been coming here for several years now. Parking right outside. The owner is Chinese but this isn't a Chinese takeaway that serves fish & chips on the side. It's purely a traditional fish & chip shop. The owner has run it for a long time and is great. He makes a genuine effort to acknowledge every customer, say hello and talk to everyone who comes in. He totally understands good service and runs a very well-drilled operation. I look forward to stopping there as I know the place runs like clockwork, i'll be in and out without any problems, and i'll get a friendly welcome. The girls who work for him are lovely -special mention for Maureen.Oh, and the food's great!

4 stars - that's good, and indeed it is.However, tonight, both fish and chips seemed to have been stood for a while.Peas and pickled onions and indeed the steak pudding and mushy peas, as always, excellent.

Great chippie, friendly attentive staff. Excellent fish and chips. Immaculately clean premises and nothing too much trouble. Always busy too which speaks volumes about the establishment. Struggling to hit one hundred words here what more can you say about a great family run business.

Decent traditional chippy, hard to up sell this type of establishment as it only concentrates on one cuisine, but they don't do anything wrong in that regard.

Warm welcome--open longer than others and most of all great food. The fish are too die for! Lee the owner is always smiling and when its a bank holiday or over the Christmas period when others are closed Cemetery Chippy is usually open. Great service and good prices.

We have been very frequent customers of this Chippy and have always found the quality and value to be excellent and we consider it to be the best in the North . The staff are allways polite,cheerfull and welcoming and are all well versed in understanding good customer relations needs.

When in Colne and fancy Fish & Chips head for this one. Been hear many times on my travels andEvery time fish is done to perfection chips just right. Good value, friendly people frying the delicious food and serving it. Service is prompt and never had to wait more than 5 mins great when your in a hurry. Tip: get the fish & chips and drive to scenic spot 1 mile down the Colne to haworth Pennine road over the tops 5 mins away ( turn right at Emmott arms) they will still be hot and good to eat, and here the views are awesome! Enjoy

I loved everything have no bd comments. Took fish and chips to my partner as he was on back shift he said they were amazing and his work colleagues went out and got some. Always top notch

on our walk we went in for a fish and some chips,they are nothing to write home about,but I have had worse,its clean and the service was good.
