Really bad service horrible atmosphere ,Good microwaved ,Staff untrained ,Drinks were not drinkable that can't keep a good pint

We have just had the pleasure of celebrating Dad's 70th birthday here with 32 close family members and friends. From the initial booking, to Victoria being so helpful with a couple of requests and to the team of chefs, Sam and the rest of the FOH staff on the day - nothing was too much trouble for anyone. The area we were in was beautiful, the food was delicious and hot and the service was impeccable. Thank you to each and every one of you working on Saturday 3rd August for making my Dad's special day so perfect. Also wishing Sam all the best for the 7th November!

We have just returned from the cedars inn after a four day stay . The room was clean and comfortable food was good . But it’s biggest asset is their staff ALL welcoming helpful and very polite . We will definitely return now we have found you .

This is a nice middle of the road restaurant and bar - lovely staff - reasonably priced food. Good spaces for outside eating also nice décor inside - its not babd at all

We went to Ceders to watch the Euros football final. It was absolutely rammed but luckily we’d booked a table in advance. Sammie and the team were fab! They all worked so hard getting food and drink orders out amongst the madness! The food was good, and hot, and the orders came really quickly. The team had provided extra screens so everyone could see the match. A great night despite the disappointing result 😢🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Beautiful surroundings, excellent food, great staff 🥰 My daughter and I had a wonderful visit to Cedar Inn . The front of house “ Danny” was attentive and professional. The conservatory was beautiful, the tables were decorated with fresh blossom. My Daughter who is vegan was spoilt for choice, we will definitely return when next in the area .

We had an excellent meal, the main course was a compensation for a dreadful New Years Eve function. Could not fault either the meal or service. Thank you the Cedars team.

Recently moved to the area and decided to try out the place for dinner. The place looks inviting and has plenty of parking. On entry the place is warm but we were greeted by a hangover from a really grotesque halloween party / Beetlejuice cross who also happened to be our server. Not only was the dress code rather not in keeping with the premises but her table manners matched her attire. A bone in the pate was ignored and to be honest the meal was ordinary. The place was not that crowded (we had booked). Everyone had been pushed into the same corner of the conservatory. We will not be going back. Since then we have spoken with other we know who would rate it even lower than we have, we just wish we had heard from them earlier to save us the experience. In its prime and probably under better management the place could and should be much better. Dress code of front of house staff really needs to be addressed.

Had a lovely afternoon for my baby shower. We had booked a more private room along with buffet lunch. Originally really impressed with the menu choice for the buffet and the food its self was amazing!! So much of it and plenty left for everyone to take something home. The room was perfect size, plenty of room to play games and my friend was allowed to go in an hour earlier to decorate. Everyone really enjoyed themselves 😁

I hosted a baby shower here and was very impressed. We had a buffet lunch which was good value for money, a great selection of food, more than enough for everyone (we all took some home!!). I arrived over an hour before hand to set up and the staff were very accomadationg and had given us a private area and there no problems with out putting up decorations which I have experienced when hosting babyshowers before. I would 100% host another event at the cedars Inn.

We had my Daughters baby shower there today and we had a buffet food and it was lovely and very good for the price . Very welcoming there too x

I have been 2 events here now, 1 and Xmas party and 1 a wedding. The food is rubbish. It’s served to you cold (roast dinner) with a bowl of vegetables to share between 6 of you and roast potatoes are clearly frozen ones. I told the waiter it was cold and we would like some more vegetables, he came back to the table both times after we have finished eating. Had halloumi fries for starters, we all laughed when they came out, they were shriveled up pieces of small rubbery halloumi. Would not go to an event there again, clearly take on too many people and can’t get the food out quick enough!

We had a lunchtime sandwich snack. Chicken & bacon ciabatta, portion of chips and shared. Plenty to eat and very tasty All staff were welcoming, kind and friendly. Well done to you all 👏

Went tonight for a plated roast.didnt book beforehand. We were shown to our table by Vicky.she couldn't have been more helpful.She is the perfect example of service with a smile. As the Sunday non gluten menu didn't have a veggy option, she went to the kitchen,to check if they could do something for me ,unfortunately they don't offer a veggy non gluten option. Maybe something they can look at doing in the future.! So I had the beef option but the meat on a side plate for my husband.I just had the veg and Yorkshire puddings. Vicky told me the yorkshire puddings would be gluten free. Another waitress reassured me that my jug of gravy was gluten free and explained that it was a different colour to the regular gravy. Vicky checked that everything was okay with our meal.as we were eating. Perfect Service. Looking forward to eating here again. It was perfect service .reassuring staff ,and lovely tasty food. Had a dinner as a single on a business trip. The restaurant was well laid out and a pleasant environment. Initial service was good, took the food order and from there it went downhill. The food was very good, well cooked and presented. Once I had the food there was no more contact. Normally staff would ask if the food is ok, ask if you want another drink etc.. but nothing. I finished my meal and drink, and waited. Fortunately I had an iPad which I read, but after 20 minutes tried to get someone’s attention but couldn’t get any eye contact. After getting a waitress’ attention I asked for the dessert menu. When she came back with it she said “I’ll give you a couple of minutes” … 10 mins later I got up, paid the bill and left, I couldn’t put up with the waiting. As I was staying in their accommodation I would have had a dessert, and another couple of drinks, so they missed out on a easy £15. The restaurant wasn’t busy and 3 staff could have served another 10 covers with ease, so no excuses.

Got to the cedars at 1.40 ordered 2 drinks at the bar and also ordered a roast dinner which was a mix of beef,turkey and pork.waited about half hour to 40 minutes and asked when food was coming out they said there is a 30 minute wait from ordering, so waited another half hour finally come .I had one small piece of beef and same with other 2 meats ,half a carrot and one small piece of Brockley,the stuffing was lovley and the stuffed apple was amazing and complemented the small slice of pork,the crackling was very good ,and they give me extra potatoes which was great as it was a small portion. The yourkshire pudding was one of the best I've had anywhere and plenty of gravy .all in all it was cooked nicely .I went on to order desert that took another 30 minutes and had to send back as it was cold apple pie and was supposed to be hot ,another 15 minutes it came out and it was lovley. The small waitress girl with glasses was brilliant and helpfull.i think if they would have had more communication it would of been so much nicer nd perhaps offered us a drink on the house for our patients in waiting. I ordered 6 drinks altogether. I'd give a 6 out of 10 for service .

We stopped here overnight due to a problem with our holiday and they found us couple of rooms short notice. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. We had dinner and breakfast of which were both lovely and the waiting staff always accommodating to all our needs. Will be visiting again for a short break here as it’s very beautiful.

Sammie was our server and she was very polite friendly and helpful. Had a lovely lunch , fish and chips for two a scampi for me and child's chicken nuggets and dessert, ice cream and chocolate sauce very nice and relaxing.

Absolutely appalling behaviour from one of the staff we know. Who is supposed to be a team leader swilling drinks at another member of public not a sight to see! She wasn’t in uniform and know of her quite well as we are a regular! The words that were coming out of her mouth were not very nice at all and has certainly made me think twice about coming back to The Cedars Inn. All we wanted to do is to come out for a nice drink and abit of food. We are very let down I must say. Hopefully something can be arranged without bringing down the rest of the team!
