The owner a rude blonde lady was speeding around the car park in a BMW and having a go at an ambulance for using her car park to have lunch. Disgusting!

We stopped here for breakfast on our way home. Everything was scrumptious and freshly made. The staff were absolutely lovely! I asked for extra Yogurt on my granola and it was no problem. The farm shop is also great! Got loads of lovely fruit and veg grown on the farm. And some wild flowers. We didn’t have cakes today but they all looked delicious. Coffee was also really nice and vegan milk available. You can also pick your own strawberries here. Would definitely come back here!

On visiting Cedarbarn café today I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth! My husband chose an egg sandwich, which included crisps and salad with a portion of chips. He was disappointed with the chips as they were soggy and over cooked. The egg was very sloppy in the thin white bread. He was not happy with his meal. I ordered from the SPECIAL MENU which was on a separate word printed document. I didn’t look at the proper menu as I wanted Quiche which was on the special menu. According to the SPECIAL MENU – Soup and a bread roll and Quiche, salad and chips showing a price of £6.95 which was inbetween the two SPECIAL items. The chips which arrived were also soggy and over cooked. Upon request to pay the bill I find that I had been charged £10.95 for my Quiche so I brought it to the attention of the waitress that I had been overcharged and the price of my meal was £6.95. To which the reply was it is £10.95 per the main menu! I explained that the SPECIAL MENU didn’t show that and was misleading to say the least. I would not have had the Quiche at £10.95. There was no apology so I asked to speak with the Manager who then explained that someone had removed the price whilst editing the word document menu. She apologised but I was not happy with her apology and explained I wouldn’t have had this meal at a cost of £10.95. She said that the price was in the main menu, I thought that a SPECIAL MENU was for SPECIAL meals and prices to reflect it being set apart from the main menu. This is not the case and no refund of the difference in price was offered which I would have gladly accepted. I will not be visiting this café or shop again and will not recommend this to friends or family. I visit this area on a regular basis so Cedarbarn has lost a customer for their bad customer service.

Lovely restaurant with nice outside area and lovely view of the surroundings including the fresh fruit ( strawberries amazing ). All the staff are very friendly. A nice little menu and reasonably priced. We had the lasagne with salad which was one of the tastiest lasagne I have ever eaten. Also the very tasty sausage and mash with vegetables which was excellent. A rare Sally Lunn ( like a tea cake ) to finish. To complete the lunch a visit to the excellent deli.

Visited again today for fresh veg and a large Aberdeen angus beef pie for tea. Son requested a ready meal lasagne of which there were none available in the fridge . Not a problem, the friendly lady asked for one to be made up especially from the kitchen. That is service with a smile!. Thankyou very much My very particular son has now been fed well. The Steak pie for our evening meal has unfortunately already been half demolished as we find it very very more ish and hard to leave alone once cut. For anyone who has not tried the steak pie , I can highly recommend. Thick fatless chunks of delicious beef in a light pastry pie. We add gravy and have with mash and fresh veg, delicious if it makes it to the table!

In general an excellent family meal - a large group for Christmas lunch. Meal portions generous, well cooked and delicious. Service was obviously stretched as extremely busy and a couple of minor errors in what was ordered compared to what was delivered! Corrected promptly where needed. They do have a problem though in dealing with Bread Sauce! The exact same happened last year too… if it comes with bread sauce, that should happen automatically. It was offered and accepted but never came, so was chased. Then a minute ramekin appeared to be shared between 7! About half a teaspoon each. A further frugal mini portion came after the waitress realised a fruitless barrel scraping would result. Happily and without further prompting, the kitchen sent out a reasonable sized bowl fitting to 7 keen diners. Trouble is by this stage, most of us had pretty much finished our meal.

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch here. The roast beef and roast lamb were excellent and the vegetables were delicious and plentiful. The Yorkshire pudding was tasty and crisp and not greasy. Great mint sauce and horseradish. Staff carefully noted special requests such as ‘no gravy’ or ‘well done beef’. Lovely choice of starters and puddings- so nice to see imaginative puddings. The cheesecake was silky and light with a great chunky biscuit base- just how I like it. The accompanying coconut macaroon was also homemade and really delicious. Warm chocolate and walnut tart provided a much tastier and more original dessert than the chocolate dishes generally seen on menus. Portion sizes were generous and we were told we could have more vegetables if we wanted them. Warm, friendly staff and atmosphere and clearly many regulars. Prices were really good value for such high quality food. Best roast beef I’ve eaten in at least a decade! Thank you!

We were staying next door at High Oaks Grange and popped in here for the farm shop on our first day. It soon became a daily occurrence for their wonderful local produce, including fresh bread and their own home-made ready meals and a good variety of local beers, ciders and gins. The cafe has plenty of both inside and outside seating. The quality of the food is outstanding. We had the Kitchen Gardeners Breakfast (veggie) and the Lighter Breakfast (which was still a very good size and came with home-made pork sausage) - plus a Sally Lunn and the awesome Buttery Cinnamon Toast .... luckily they do take-out and gave us a box so we could take what we couldn't eat away with us!!! We enjoyed a morning walk to their cafe whilst staying at the new Premier Inn. Great breakfast choices especially the cinnamon toast. Lovely friendly team of staff and plenty of quality products to browse and buy in the farm shop.

We were travelling past on the way home from Whitby and stopped on the off chance for a late breakfast. This is a delightful place, really well presented with plenty of outdoor tables in a lovely garden area. The food was excellent and good value. Gallons of tea too!So pleased we stopped.

A friend and I have eaten here twice and on both occasions we were very pleased with the food (choice and quality) and the service. The serving staff always appear to be polite, helpful and friendly with a great sense of humour. We will definitely be going back there for another visit. Thanks you to all the staff.

Cedarbarn is right at the side of High Oaks Grange so a nice little stroll for a full English in the morning or sit & have a nice coffee in the afternoon, pick you own fruits, have a ride on the miniature railway or just sit and relax while the kids play on the park.

Lovely food and great for young children. Great little play area, miniature railway and pick your own suit. Superb scones and my other half thoroughly enjoyed his ploughman’s lunch. Children’s menu was good and varied.Would suggest to book head if requiring an indoor table, although ample space outside.

"you enter as a stranger and leave as a friend" said the bar room sign which greeted this weary wanderer who'd taken a wrong turn. I ordered a pint and sure enough before it was pulled I was in conversation with a local man who thenintroduced me to the bar staff! The Sunday Roast was in full swing, the campers were in and out from the pub campsite and the occasional labrador was stealing hearts but nothing seemed to much trouble for the staff. This is a proper country pub, as warm and cosy as a storybook cottage and it's charm appeared to be working on a nearby American couple who's fantasies of an Olde English Country Pub had all just come true. I was on foot and was a few miles from the nearest town but lo and behold one of my new-found companions insisted on giving me a lift... As I exited the bar I glanced the "enter as a stranger and leave as a friend" sign again - this pub does what it says on the tin!

It would look like I’m beating a drum for this pub! But we keep going back because to be honest it is just such good value. Tried their two steaks for £20, choice of rump, sirloin or ribeye, we both went for sirloin, superb, cooked as we wanted, medium rare, salad, mushrooms, peas, onion rings, and a separate bowl of chips. You must try it! I also think you will find it harder to get a better pint of bitter, landlady told me lines are cleaned at the change of every barrel as well as normal cleaning.

Absolutely loved this pub/restaurant. We sat outside with our dog at one of numerous tables and had a delicious Sunday lunch. So much flavour in the meat and the roast potatoes were the best. A bit pricey but worth it for the setting, the food, the service and the landlord brought out some steak pieces for the dogs to share. Amazing.
