Cawfee in Plymouth

Just had a lovely lunch and catch up with my friend here. It’s a lovely little place, with delicious food and drinks. I tried the boyga and a totally bananas smoothie which didn’t disappoint. The hash browns are amazing!! Would highly recommend this place :) will definitely be returning soon to try more on the menu.

I've visited a number of highly rated places in Plymouth to try breakfast and, for the most part, been disappointed by the food I've been served. However, I saw a few reviews on Trip Advisor and decided to head down to Union St and have a look for myself. I am so glad I did - the breakfast was the best one I've had out in years. Every part of it was spot on - lovely sausages (not the cheap, squidgy ones often served up), large well cooked rashers of bacon, a decent portion of beans, large pieces of toast, all of it good quality. I don't like eggs, so comment on them, but if the rest of the food is an indicator, they will be fine. The food is cooked to order - you can see the chef at work - so takes a little while, but definitely worth the wait. I prefer a good breakfast over a fast one - and this was a good one. The cafe is a pleasant place to have a meal, the lady behind the counter was charming and friendly - what more can you ask for? I will definitely return and have already recommended it to others. There's an excellent reason to head down Union St - it's called Cawfee!

Nice atmosphere and a very delicious breakfast. We liked it very much! Relaxed, friendly and ambitious! We will come back. We took the classic and the vegetarische wrap. It's an all inklusive breaktfast.

The couple who run this little restaurant in union street Plymouth next too the backpackers hotel have done very good for themselves the food bloody great cider better but I don't know how to be honest. So in my mind if you feel peckish and want a cool soft drink or even brunch so out of your silly minds I'd you dont try ....... just once.... bett you go back.

A lovely little independent cafe who care about their food and drinks. We go here often for lunch and the staff are always so friendly and the food is amazing! Great coffee, reasonably priced and always kept clean and tidy!

The food was delicious. Interesting breakfast options compared to many cafe menus. My only gripe was, and I hate to say it, but I thought the tea was awful. It was all tannin and no taste. If that was different...maybe try a loose leaf, and I'd give it 5 stars without hesitation.

10/10 Delicious food, handmade to order and a perfect coffee to go with it. Definitely recommend and will be coming back!

Very delicious banana pancakes 😋 and coffee for late morning brunch - very welcome on cold and wet Tuesday. I loved having a physical book on the table to read - learned a lot about Shakespeare while waiting for everything to be freshly cooked. A little gem in a inauspicious part of the city.

The best breakfast in Plymouth. The food is lovely, Beautifully cooked, very friendly staff. The service is lovely always served with a smile. It's our go to place! Last week I had a hot chocolate and its the best hot chocolate I have ever had! The hash browns are to die for! Hands down the best place for a breakfast! Also dog friendly which is amazing if you got your fur baby with you!

What an amazing place this is for a coffee and a bite to eat, very highly recommend Cawfee, ambience is spot on with a trap garden out back, staff are polite and friendly and very helpful, food and drink menu is especially good, I had the stack which was amazing.

We arrived early on our writing day for the Millbay Residency on Tuesday so Cawfee was the only place we could find that was open. We’re glad we did find it. It’s a lovely coffee shop, with fast service, clean and pleasant atmosphere. We had lots of time to talk and plan our day and didn’t feel rushed with our drinks. The rest of the team found us easily, and it was only a short walk back to the Octagon and on to the new EU-funded Millbay Boulevard flood defence road.

Staff are great, food is served with soul and good price. Mixed crowd, with a community and arty edge

Went shopping with friends and popped in for breakfast, so glad we did and will be returning. Friendly service, lush breakfast with quality ingredients and cooked to perfection. You will not be disappointed.

Hands down one of the best English breakfasts I’ve had. Came down to Plymouth from London for the day and went to Cawfee on a friend’s recommendation. It was a brilliant choice. Nice staff, and the coffee was also very good.

What can I say! The best breakfast Ive had in all of Plymouth. The food is just fantastic. Hats off to the chef, who is such a nice and friendly person. I keep going back there more and more. Forget the Hotel Breakfast, this is worth the 20 min trip. Food was fresh & delicious and such a good price, about £20 for 2 full breakfasts with smoothie and milkshake!! Honestly, I don’t normally write reviews, but this little cafe definitely deserves the attention! I got the veggie breakfast, my boyfriend got the huevos rancheros, seriously give them a try!

Researched where to have breakfast in Plymouth and CAWFEE rated highly..The five of us arrived at 9.15am..Cawfee closed! I wish we hadnt bothered with walking there.My three kids were dissapointed after checking it out on Google.

What an amazing little cafe. At so many eateries the decor and artificial "vibe" are all important and the food secondary. Here the food is superb and the atmosphere genuinely relaxed. Great coffee and great service too. Love it!

Absolutely amazing food. The rostis, which are a signature of the venue, are absolutely superb. I’m ultra critical when it comes to food, as I’ve spent many years running hospitality venues, and Cawfee is right up there, the food was pretty much unfaltable. Amazing value too. Very friendly service too. I wish there was a button to go over 5 out of 5.

What a great find this place is! Was down in Plymouth for my brothers wedding, and popped in for a coffee. Which was fab, and ended up having a breakfast. Not only great value for money but was superb, best brekkie ever. Poached eggs cooked to perfection. Took a little while but cooked fresh, which was defo worth the wait! everything hot and hot plates too. Great atmosphere too and friendly staff. If we didn’t live in Scotland, we’d be here every day!! Can’t wait to come back!

Well my husband and myself have been driving past this little place for couple years but today we decided to try and pleasantly surprised we were. staff were amazing and very friendly, we both had lattes husband had the normal breakfast and I had the cawfee breakfast (plant based) it was delicious it's my new go to place now options for food is plenty and range of beverages were very good welldone guys you have a little gem of a place will definitely be returning with bountiful of friends ,family intow

Friendly owner and staff, great café to meet new people...as regulars involve all in conversations. Everything is cooked when you order it...a variety of foods for all tastes, Coffee's are Barista. Enlarged now with a lovely outside space to the back of the café. Would highly recommend.

Saw this cafe on our walk so popped in and the staff were super friendly!. Really cute shop and even played a bit of golf while we waited!. Hot Chocolate was lovely and even better in a Disney Frozen cup!

What a find, small local cafe ,friendly and an exceptional breakfast. Definitely worth giving the big city a miss and heading here for a good range of food including plant based on the menu. Also a good stop off if you're waiting for a ferry. Ps.poached egg perfection!

Whether you are veggie, vegan or otherwise this little gem is by far the best value for money eatery in Plymouth serving breakfast brunch and sandwiches and the best coffee in the Southwest. Also featuring a cool zen garden at the rear of the cafe. A must for any goody with a taste for great flavours

Great cawfee is hard to come so if you're in town you definitely have to try out their flat white, pancakes and their Green Smoothie (avocado, mango smoothie). Highly recommended!

Lovely little cafe ...friendly service and atmosphere ...we visited on Bank Holiday morning and found seats in the courtyard in the sun ... Had an amazing vegan breakfast which included toast, spinach, hash browns, beans, tomato and mushrooms with blueberries too, which was a nice touch ...very reasonably priced and enjoyable ... A great find in a much overlooked area of town ...will definitely be back.

A welcoming and modest café on Union Street serving good tasty food. The few times I've been service has been with a smile and my food has left me feeling satisfied.

Have been here a few times now. There is always a classic cooked breakfast up for grabs but also alternative choices that are a bit different to the usual breakfast fayre. I am veggie and my partner veggie AND gluten free; we always manage to be well fed here. The coffee is decent, customer service really lovely, and the cafe has a really laid back, non-corporate feel about it.

Best coffee I've found in town and incredible value food. This is our go-to spot for post-exercise refuelling. Union Street just gets better.

I discovered the cafe on accident, but am glad I did! This small cafe is doing BIG things! I had the pain perdu and my partner had the Full English. We were blown away, will defiantly back for more.

A little oasis! Run by friendly people who provide a nice atmosphere. Though I only had a cookie, the food looked good and well presented.

Opposite Old Palace Theatre, Union Street, funky cafe from the outside, great interior, selling Nook house plants, light and spacious, and then brilliant selection of breakfasts, house fry up is delicious, lots of tasty ingredients on your plate, plus with a mug of tea £7 bargain, plus vegan fry up and vegan pancakes, p plus Mexican refried beans, of they added sri lankan omelettes to the café it would be totally perfect but lovely people running it, well with a detour.

Me and a mate came in for some breakfast on the weekend, we have a breakfast roll chart and it’s now the new leader. Not only this but also the staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough for you!

Three of us popped in for different coffees. Really well made and presented drinks. I had a bacon and egg bap. Really tasty. Staff were really lovely and there was a lovely vibe about the cafe. Looking forward to returning soon.
