Cawdrons Butchers in North Norfolk

Went in . Fought my way past the takeaway que to stand at the fresh meat counter to be ignored . Walked out in disgust. Was eyeing up some nice steaks and chicken. Some bacon looked good too but will never know how good.

Usually great service and portions, however today they had run out of everything I wanted to get which was very disappointing.

We booked Cawdrons for our joint birthday party, the hog roast was absolutely amazing cooked to perfection and served on board the Southern Comfort Mississippi paddle boat, the staff from Cawdrons were very accommodating, we had roast potatoes and coleslaw in addition, everything was served well, the best hog roast we’ve had, would definitely recommend.

I use Cawdrons for suppling a Hog Roast on board The Queen of the Broads from Wroxham for a 4 hr trip I organise for my retired pensioners I have done this for 4 occasions the meat they supply is 1st class You will not be disappointed

Great BBQ with sirloin steaks from this quality butcher. Delicious 😋 definitely our go to butcher when we are here.

Great meat. We popped in to get some cooked meat and rolls. Ended up getting some best bacon which was a bit pricey but was really delicious.

Food was amazing but staff weren’t at all friendly, had rude faces on them and didn’t feel at all welcomed

We popped into Stalham last Saturday 6th November and decided after many self promises to try one of bagettes, I can only say how much we enjoyed ours and the two young lads serving were pleasant and a delite to chat to, we enjoyed every bite !!

We have shopped here for 3 months having moved to the area . the choice quality service and knowledge is what you would expect from a quality butcher . keep up the great work .Just eaten the best rump steak ever.

A wonderful butcher shop, the staff are very helpful and nice. The meat was really really tasty. I got some dry aged beef, wonderful.

so I ordered a turkey for xmas as my family were coming to stay, unfortunitly they got put into a T4 so were not allowed to travel. I had paid a deposit this local butchers and called them, not to cancel but to down size. I was going to keep the rest of the order the same, however... the rude girl on the phone told me we were going to lose the deposit if we didnt take the original large turkey.. I tried to explain that we just need a smaller one and that the rest of the meat order (£80+) was staying the same.. she said that it was basically tough and nothing can be done about it.. I cancelled the whole lot, ordered my meat else where and for 1/3 less in price !!! I will never use them again and 4 people I spoke to today have also gone to a different butchers now.... RUDE WITH NO CUSTOMER SERVICE

We always use Cawdrons for our holiday food this year was no exception. The smoked bacon was delicious as was the sausages the steak and kidney pie, pork Pies. Unfortunately the 28 day matured sirloin steaks were a little disappointing in taste hence the four and not five star would still highly recommend them still.

Every time we visit Stalham we always have their meat baguettes. I have the beef with horseradish and my son and husband always opt for pork with all the trimmings. Their loyalty card is great too.

extensive selection of meat, very helpful staff and all at a reasonable price. They also offer made to order baguettes with a selection of hot fillings.

Fabulous range, we tried the sausages and a homemade pie both delicious wish we lived nearer they have loyalty cads. They also serve hot roast cobs

I call into Cawdron's most weeks for meat. I especially like their virtually fat free sausages, braising steak slices and pork loin chops. Their loyalty card brings extra savings. Pleasant and helpful staff too. Certainly would recommend to anyone.

My son buys there all the time so I thought I would try it. The array of produce looked fresh and I could have bought some of everything. Well worth a visit

Kebabs and burgers not to be missed. Steak is at least 21 days and very good. Exceptional deli counter too.

Been shopping at Cawdrons since we moved to Stalham 17 years ago, and all their meat products are superior to anything in the area. Try it out, you won't be disappointed.

Today Cawdrons provided hot roast joints of ribs of beef and shoulders of pork with stuffing, roast potatoes, accompanying salads and sauces on a private boat trip for a family birthday party of 35 guests.. From start to finish the contact with Cawdron's has been excellent and the the meat was really succulent & full of flavour. The crackling was par excellence. All the staff were very helpful and obviously have real enthusiasm for what they do. We could not have been more satisfied

In response to Nicola G's review. I completely disagree. We too attended the firework display at Walcott and took the whole family. The hog roast rolls were actually £4 each and were overflowing with meat and stuffing. We would all have gone back for seconds had we not been so full. Really delicious and worth the money considering how little you get elsewhere these days. HIGHLY RECOMMEND CAWDRONS FOR ANY EVENT, LOVELY PEOPLE

I had the pleasure of being at an event catered by Cawdrons and found their Hog roasts just as good as the hot food served at their butchers in stalham. Really tastey and a good sized roll full of pork and stuffing. The staff were really busy, there was a fair sized cue, but friendly and helpfull.

Cawdrons Butchers were the outside caterers at a fireworks night we attended, I was so looking forward to a hog roast having seen this advertised and having had this before. I seemed to time it right as a huge long queue was right behind me, I could see the pressure on the serving staff faces. My disappointment was that in the portion size, a hog roast roll for £5 contained the smallest slice of pork & piece of stuffing. I had imagined the roll to be stuffed to the brim with pork & stuffing, I had to ask for crackling and was given the smallest piece, we even had to ask for 2 trays as was buying 2 lots of 2 and they tried to serve 2 rolls in one tray!! It was very tasty what we did get but it did NOT represent value for money, I was very disappointed and will not be eating at a Cawdrons Butchers outside caterers again, nor would I book them for a function or recommend them.

Love going here for my meat, good range of products including game and reasonable prices. James and his staff are always friendly and recognise you when you go in. The Cooking Butcher baguettes are fantastic!

We visited Cawdrons the 30th December, looking for inspiration for dinner that night. We got it down to pork spare ribs. The owner suggested a marinade for the pork, then produced a tub of barbecue pearls which he mixed with the ribs in a roasting bag. Really, we thought. But never fear, after slow cooking for nearly 3 hours, we had the most beautiful and succulent ribs in a barbecue sauce. Thank you Cawdrons for the recommendation. Delicious

Just been to Cawdron's butchers, Stalham for our Christmas dinner needs. OUTSTANDING!

This is a butcher but at lunch time they do fantastic hot meat baguettes. Good choice of meats, stuffing and crackling! They have a good range of fresh meat too, sausages are excellent.

Wow, this is the must go place for a hot baguette! So tasty, very well priced. The quality of filling is top notch. The meat from the butcher side is equally good too, bought a selection of bits and very satisfied. Highly recommend the brisket and burgers.

Succulent chickens and home made sausages are particularly delicious as are all their cuts of meat. Excellent customer service with personalised attention to detail.

What can you say? A fine Norfolk family engaged in what they do well, real butchery and terrikic hot, cooked meats. The smell is to die for. Other tendrils of this family have or had interests in Wines & Spirits trade and public houses. It's no wonder they're good at it!

This is an awesome butchers shop. Great selection of fresh meats. Superbly presented, nothing too much trouble and will cut you just what you need. Great bacon and excellent sausages. A good variety of stuff available for the BBQ. Opposite the butchers counter is the cooked meats, sausage rolls, pork pies etc etc.Great value and tastes better than supermarket meat. Give them a try.

What a lovely selection of meats for the bbq this butchers does the village of stalham proud. For all people touring the broards and this is the ideal stop for your bbq feast amongst the other every day meats . Fresh hot baps and rolls of sausages bacon and p pork. Just to tease your nose . Friendly staff happy to help.

The butchers part of the shop is gorgeous but the hot meat baguettes are definitely the best. Choose from beef, pork, lamb, gammon or turkey, adding home made stuffing and onions if you like. The baguettes are all freshly cooked too.

A 1st class family butchers we have been using for years, meats sausages bacons pies all excellent plus at lunchtime baguettes with lots of fresh cooked goodies, yum yum

This butchers certainly won't disappoint, there is a large variety of meats and some nice marinaded ones. They also do hot meat baguettes which are a real treat. The staff are always very helpful nothing is too much trouble.

Called in here for a bacon baguette, it was freshly made and tasted great. Good friendly staff too, well worth a visit.

Super selection of meats and hot food for lunch snacks or BBQ if you wanted to take home to cook. We chose the hot pies and cold meat selection to take back to our boat for supper.

Had a beef baguette from her a few weeks ago, awful! The beef was really dry and what I had was shredded, rather travel to north walsham for a decent baguette.

Skip Tescos meal deal and get some great food ! I park at Tescos and walked 2 mins into the street and got a pork hog roast baguette and homemade sausage roll ! They Also sell some great meat and have a great selection of different fillings Support your local business

A big thank you to Amy (sorry wrong spelling but I lost the card I had written names on) and her companion for last Friday evening on the Broads boat trip. The food was of the highest quality, everyone enjoyed it so much. All the party thought the food was excellent, well prepared and served and such friendly chef's.Highly recommend this company for private parties.

The wonderful smells of the filled rolls draw you into the shop, and they are not disappointing when you try them. They certainly fit the description of 'filled' and are excellent value.The staff here were very helpful with advice on different cuts of meat, and there is a good choice of cuts.The sausages are superb.Well worth a visit.

I'm so lucky to have this as our local butchers. The large range of meats are amazing . The steaks . Iv never seen such a large range of sausages before , they even do slimming world 'sin free' sausages. The burgers are amazing on the bbq. There always lots of stuff marinated, looks amazing . Some bits might be abit pricey but you get what you pay for . Very clean shop. Always washing hands to . There are also hot and cold baguettes , which are AMAZING . Wide range cooked from scratch . Reasonable prices . This is a family run business. And they are all very polite and helpful and welcoming. Definitely recommend

Great food here and friendly staff. Good quality meat both raw and cooked, full array of cheeses, hams, sausage rolls and much more. Love the hot snacks- rolls stuffed with hot meat are very delicious. Highly recommended and we will always find it difficult to pass without popping in for something!

I have only bought fresh meat here and have found it tasty and it is from local farmers not supermarket floor sweepings. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff.

I first discovered Cawdrons when working on a local building site. We used to get the baguettes at break or dinner. They are excellent products & good value. I took my wife there to see their butchers products & we have bee returning there ever since. We spend around £200 at Christmas & have never been disappointed. They even made some 'tomato sausages' for us which my wife had remembered as a 'Yorkshire' recipe from when she lived there. Staff are so very helpful & they have a loyalty scheme too.We have sampled many of their products from stir fry mixes to eggs, sauasages, bacon, chicken, sausage rolls, frozen pies, pork pies, pheasants, lamb, liver, steak, burgers - several varieties. Great for barbecue stuff.I would never hesitate to recommend this place. They have an ever changing range.They also do Hog roasts for events - not tried these but I'm sure they will be good too!

Love this butchers from the freshly made hot baguettes to the bbq meet which is all marinated to the yummy sausages. I would recommend to all. They also do a fabulous hog roast for parties. Keep it local keep it high street!

Can't tell you what it was like, waited so long to be ignored we left. Shan't be back. Staff handling raw meat then cooked with the briefest of washes in between, not for me thanks.

Great butchers, best for miles around, except for Causeway butchers Ingham. Very helpful staff, great take away as well.

Bought some rump steaks from here today for the barbecue. The butcher who cut them told us that they would be good as the knife he used "went through it like butter". How right he was, they were amazingly tender and full of flavour. They even do sausages, approved by Slimmingworld, that actually taste like sausages!We will certainly be going back.

Great traditional butchers. You can find anything in here, great for bbq food and if you want a hot snack, try the baguettes, delicious.

Turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce... Simply an excellent baguette. My choice every Saturday lunchtime. And a loyalty scheme to go alongside. The only downside is occasionally the service provided.

We had a hog roast for my sons wedding. The guys who set up & served were professional, friendly & efficient. The pork was lovely full of flavour. Excellent service I would highly recommend the outside catering.

All their meat is great sausages are excellent and so are the pies and the deli counter is excellent , they also have a hot baguette counter with a choice of all their meats sausages and burgers great for a hot lunch

We stayed at Hiclkling for 4 days, and stopped at Stalham each day to collect our cooked meats for our picnics each day, The Ham, Roast Pork, and Roast Beef which we tried were perfectly cooked, we even stopped on our way home to take some more of the lovely Ham home.

One of the best places to get a filled baguette. Park in Tesco and walk through the alley way. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.
