We visited Cavendish Coffee shop in Xmas 21 with our son and his wife. Myself and wife returned today and it was just as good. The staff are very pleasant, helpful and appeared happy to be there The cakes and BLT we had were very good. If you are ever in Falmouth and want an independent cafe this is the place to go you won't be disappointed. Well done to all the staff

We were greeted by a girl who was working front of house. When we arrived at 4pm, they were just about to close, as they were quiet. However, they stopped open to serve us. The girl was excellent at her job, being very friendly and showing personal interest in her guests. We had a selection of coffee’s and iced coffee’s, as well as sampling a few of the cakes. I would not hesitate to recommend this coffee house. I saw a negative review about the prices and that Cafe Nero next door is cheaper. Whilst I occasionally use Cafe Nero, there is no comparison between the two. The quality of the food and drink, along with the very personal service we received was far superior. I almost forgot to mention our dog was made very welcome too.

Lovely fresh food, the cake is amazing and the service both efficient and friendly. We only wanted a light lunch and we weren’t disappointed. The food was well presented and good portions. Their cake selection is incredible. Great to go somewhere with a good atmosphere and happy, attentive service. We will be back xx

Staff were really helpful and were able to answer all my questions about the GF cakes. All GF cakes made on site but on different days to non GF products. Staff went above and beyond to reassure me that GF cake options were safe for me to eat as a coeliac. There were a total of 5 GF cakes to choose from and honestly I was overwhelmed by being able to pick from freshly baked cakes instead of a dry cake in a packet. This is an absolute must visit cafe for tea and cake. In addition, I didn't have any Gluten symptoms after eating here so I would definitely return back for a sweet treat.

The best flat white I’d had in ages. Really enjoyed it. Nice Biscotti to go with it too. That was a nice touch.

Popped in to see if any gluten-free cakes were available and was happy to see the entire top shelf with a selection of 4 delicious looking gluten-free sponge cakes. Great to have such a large choice considering it was gluten-free! I went for the lemon sponge cake to takeaway, and it was lovely and a decent size. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful (10/10/22) assuring me they use different utensils for dietary requirements too.

A good "Pop in" sit down Cafe when your feet are dropping off!! Staff friendly helpful and nice simple decor ,clean and tidy We had cheese and ham sandwich plus cream tea a pot of tea for me whilst my wife enjoyed 2 x coffees all good. If we come down that way again we know where to go !! Advice was from a local which we took and was not disappointed.

Went in for coffee and toast or a tea cake. Coffee was £3.50 a cup and a toasted tea cake was £3! Walked out and went into Cafe Nero next door. We both had a large coffee and a pan au raisin for £9.60 which was excellent. Cavendish House will not be getting my business ever again.

Popped in here for a cream tea and to shelter from the rain. Staff were all smiley and friendly and the scones with the cream tea were fresh and delicious. Would highly recommend

Wow what a beautiful restaurant ! Literally the best tuna and cheese panini l hv ever had and l also got to taste my nieces avacado on toast with poached eggs - and it was absolutely delicious, the avacado was seasoned to perfection and the eggs were Devine ! Oh & least l forget the home made cakes - sooooooo delicious and beautifully decorated by the owner Ian’s daughter! I wld highly recommend visiting, not only is the food fresh and delicious but they also delivery a great service. Ian and team, thank u for ur hospitality and kindness. Would have given 5 stars but we waited 40 minutes for mains to arrive after we had been given our drinks- some hot and desserts. We had to ask where our order was. Not even an apology or offer of Further drinks. And before any excuse of it was busy there were free tables . Food lovely though.

The Cavendish Coffee House is by far the most welcoming and inclusive coffee house in Falmouth! The tea and cakes are amazing and coupled with the uplifting, homely atmosphere the staff bring makes this my number one coffee house to go to.

When I first came here as a student I was worried I wasn't going to find any nice coffee places in this little seaside town. However, the first day I was here I found Cavendish. I can honestly say the reason I keep coming back here is because the staff are friendly and always smiling, the coffee is beautofully made with love and care and the food is absolutely excellent. The staff will always make the effort to have a nice chat to you.This has become a regular spot for me and I recommend it to tourists and locals alike. The staff care about everything even the small details. They remember drinks orders and the nicest places to sit and they accomodate everybody to a very high standard. I am amazed by this place because you can come here casually, to work or even read. It is simply the best place in Falmouth to sit down in the warm for a drink.The oatmilk flat whites are absolutely stunning and always warm me up in the cold ajd rainy days in Cornwall, another aspect of the place I like is the care that Cavendish puts into their cakes. Aesthetically amazing and taste wise they are "bang on" as we say in Wales.I will always come back to this place as it offers a home away from home and I have found my favourite coffee place here.

My sister and I were born and bred in Falmouth and Cavendish was always "the nice place" to go. We no longer live here but are sorting our father's estate after he passed away a short time ago.We decided to treat ourselves to lunch and visit Cavendish. After a short(ish) wait, our order was taken (2 all day breakfasts and coffee. We asked if our eggs could be poached and were informed that the "chef wasn't sure if poached eggs were possible but they would try".Considering the price tag of £9.25, we expected a nice brunch and, like many others places, cardboard cups and plates along with disposable cutlery arrived. The cutlery was quite unsuitable for the task!! However, the single rasher of bacon, one sausage, one egg,one hash brown (I asked for two!) , a spoon of beans and a piece of toast seems a complete rip off for the price being charged. I am sure plenty of tourists, students and a certain demographic are happy to pay these extortionate prices but, like so many things in town, the locals won't. So disappointed!!!

We always like to try the local cafes rather than the chains, and this was one of the nicest we've been in. The staff were friendly and helpful and yes, the cups were cardboard and the cake came in a paper box but that was understandable given the circumstances...Coffee was excellent and the cakes were delicious - coffee and walnut for me, lemon and rocky road for the others. Huge slices too, Best of all, the music was great, all the sort of tracks we've enjoyed over the years!

We Popped in for a cream tea the scones jam and cream were served in a cardboard box no plates or cutlery just 2 useless wooden spoons the tea was served in cardboard cups also I don’t think COVID could be used as an excuse here as we had been to others cafes and they were able to serve cream teas normally with no bother, won’t be going back here !

I have been a customer at Cavendish for years, it is my family’s ‘go to’ for a coffee break while shopping. I love love love their milkshakes, hot chocs and cakes, they also do a lovely breakfast and yummy scones! It was also the first Cafe I went to after lockdown and after shielding I was a bit nervous, but I was not disappointed. Cakes were as yummy as ever, it all felt very ‘Covid secure’ but maintained its comfy, local, welcoming charm. It is a must visit in Falmouth. ❤️

I visited the cafe a few days ago, and was greeted by friendly staff, taking the right COVID precautions!We both had lovely coffees and a vegan home made slice and it was delicious! Will definitely be visiting again when in the area.Also, great music! Who is the DJ?

Went back to the Cavendish for lunch. Covid precautions made us feel safe and the friendly staff made us feel welcome. Food was good and reasonably priced, well worth a visit

We stopped here for brunch and then for cake and coffee later on in the day (yes it’s that good). For brunch we had a selection of paninis and the avocado smash and later on we had a selection of delicious cakes! The staff were really friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend paying a visit here if you’re in Falmouth!

Dropped by for a quick coffee - good service and a good drink so ticked all the boxes we were looking for

Stopped off here while strolling through Falmouth on a cold wet day. Most places seemed busy and indeed the guy on the door first announced no tables but then someone got up to leave so OK.To his credit, he did say that he must sanitise the table before we sat down which he did. We then got menus and then sat there, and sat there, and.......all the time directly in line with the wide open doors so absolutely freezing !. Other people came, got seated and ordered, while we sat and......Eventually we managed to order drinks which arrived a few minutes later and whilst my canned drink was expected to be cold, the Wife’s latte wasn’t supposed to be but was. How can you get that wrong ?.Not impressed, staff seemed more pre-occupied with meeting regulations than giving good service.

Friendly staff and that is where it ends. Tuna sandwich was dry and unappealing, my daughter had a Veggie breakfast that appeared to be straight out of Iceland’s frozen section. Light lunch for 3 with no drinks came to £26. Felt very expensive and not worth a visit.

We spent the day in Falmouth and recognised the cafe, as we had visited two years ago. As usual, the service was perfect, the cakes were amazing and the tea was wonderful. Friendly staff and clean venue. Would highly recommend this place and will definitely visit again.

We stopped off in Falmouth and first time here. Friendly and helpful staff and place is organised well to be covid friendly. Both had tuna mayo sandwiches and they arrived in a disposable cardboard box with nice side salad together with wooden cutlery. Sandwiches were tasty and well filled and there was a choice of white or brown bread. Didn’t sample but the cakes looked very nice. Overall very good experience and would recommend

What stood out from our visit today was the service. We came with two small children during the rain, the staff were friendly & attentive all times. They helped provide baby chair facilities and also made us aware of promotional offers on regarding the food discounts at this time. Really welcoming. One of the group usually likes Costa as her preferred cafe of choice, but she also was impressed by the quality of food & nice environment. Thank you!

Lovely little cafe. Have never been disappointed when visiting. The food has always been tasty, well portioned and reasonably priced. The service is always done with a smile and is quick and efficient considering it can get quite busy. We have not managed to visit since the pandemic but we will be returning as soon as we can.

Efforts made to lower covid risks by serving all food out of a box with wooden cutlery. No issue for me (in fact, I’d rather single use) but trickier for partner with a full English - perhaps biodegradable plates would be a more suitable option for dine in customers. Really surprised that such efforts were made in these respects yet our table wasn’t sanitised or even wiped after its previous occupants. Also extremely surprised to see that outdoor tables and chairs were literally back to back when there’s a one metre ruling? It feels a little like trying too hard with things like paper boxes whilst missing the real basics / imperatives in providing a clean and safe environment. Food itself was ok.. cooked nicely and tasty.
