We booked a private room for an afternoon tea my daughter’s baby shower. Contact with Cattows from start to finish was great. It was an easy room for us to decorate. 3 guests had dietary requirements which were catered for perfectly. The tea was presented beautifully and there was a lovely choice. We thought it was very good value for money. The staff were attentive, coming in during the afternoon to see if we needed more drinks. All of our guests who hadn’t visited Cattows before were very impressed. Thankyou

I arrived at the team rooms just before 9am, to be welcomed by the farm owner himself, Alan. Lovely man. I was seated by the window which had a fabulous view of the surrounding area, very picturesque. Having made my breakfast choice, I went to pay at the till, to be met by a beautiful young lady called Amy to whom was very helpful. As I started to drink my tea, my hot breakfast arrived which tasted absolutely fantastic. I'm glad I arrived and ate when I did, as the room was getting very busy. I will certainly be returning - again, thank you Amy for making my breakfast most enjoyable. Such a lovely lady.

Awful experience. Firstly, we weren't allowed to bring our dog into a farm cafe (which I partly understand), however outside was infested with wasps and our food kept on getting swarmed. Poor engagement by management, the buck kept getting past on. The manager didn't even want to speak to us as they were "too busy". Prices are way too high for the service they provide too. Felt like their apology was forced - no offered discount, voucher etc.

Called in on spec after Sence Valley Forest parkrun. Lots of choice for food and drink, alcoholic or otherwise. Vegetarian and vegan options available. The venue was tastefully decorated for Christmas. Staff were polite and pleasant. I very much enjoyed my avocado and poached eggs on sourdough toast. The avocado although well smashed was as I like it, not overly chilled, the poached eggs were perfectly cooked, nice runny yolk and the sourdough toast was tangy. We would return.

Cattows goes from strength to strength. I first started visiting about 10 years ago. The extension has a really classy feel to it which complements the quality of the food. We often call in for coffee and cake and the selection is fantastic - the best I have seen anywhere. Refreshing change from the usual Victoria Sponge etc. Plenty of parking with lots always going on. A treat to have a well run operation like this on your doorstep

Asked if I’d booked a table when I said no the look of distain was not welcome.( booking not a demand requirement on line) I am recently widowed, and just readjusting to life without an other to share lunch or a coffee with. The attitude I received was deplorable. I work in Customer Service, I expect to receive a reasonable level of servility, especially when parting from hard earned cash… Food 4* Ambiance 3* Staff attitude to lone customer 0* Needless to say i will take my business elsewhere.

The last time we went here it said on their website that it was open and it was closed. This time we called to check that the cafe was open, as we knew there was an event on. We were told that the cafe was open as normal. When we got there the main entrance was closed with a pick-up parked in front of it. We were directed to a rear entrance which was a significant diversion. We found ourselves in a queue for the event and travelling an extremely wet and muddy track and had the opportunity to park in a field and walk to the cafe. It was a quagmire and we opted to continue for the exit along a track in a far worse state than the one we had entered on. The car really did look as though we had been in a rally. How this counts as 'open as normal' I cannot imagine. Never, never again.

Fantastic fireworks and great twisted circus acts - bargain at £15 for both! Shame about all the mud, which I guess can’t be helped with all the rain we’ve had We have a big car with 4 wheel drive so thankfully were ok but better infrastructure needed next year as lots of cars were wheel spinning and having to be towed out Also needed separate pedestrian hand-standing away from the one the cars were using as entry/exit was a bit dangerous especially with lack of lighting Had a great time though and will be back next year if the infrastructure is sorted out Also could have done with mulled wine / cider :)

Spent a lovely evening in the pumpkin fields. We did not pick any pumpkins, but certainly saw how the other families and kids were enjoying picking. There were many fun activities especially for kids, however, we only purchased the entry tickets which allowed a general visit, which was worth for the price. Loved the evening spent and also tried freshly baked cake from the coffee shop which was delightful. There were also other food stalls.

Called in here whilst visiting the area. Initially I popped in to ask for directions to the Jubilee Gardens but the waitress was really friendly and the restaurant looked really inviting that we called in after visiting the gardens for a family lunch. We were taken to a table for three and handed menus to view. The whole restaurant is table service which was a nice touch. We ordered our drinks and food. The waitress was very professional and was accommodating when I ordered something slightly off menu. The food arrived promptly and tasted delicious and fresh. The restaurant was busy but the service was superb. The food and drinks were very reasonable. We wouldn't hesitate to return if we are in the area again.

I came here with a few friends to the sunflower field as we hadn’t been before. We was all looking forward to it as we took our kids too. We arrived and driving up the road on the way to the farm there was no sunflowers to be seen. We got in the car park and checked in, we then walked around the patch, well most of the sunflowers had gone, now this was coming to the end of the season but with how many sunflowers that were left we could of at least had a reduction on the entrance fee. We did talk to management and the kids got a free cake but still not happy. Don’t be returning I’m afraid. Very disappointing.

I would never return to this farm. I went due to the fact I had heard raves about the place in the summer and it’s local to me also. I purchased the tickets online and also paid £7 per person to enter the fantasy land. For 5 of us it was £56.50.When we arrived we got in the que to get in and this took around 10 minutes (person allowing entry didn’t smile once). Straight away you see the fair, £3per person for the waltsers. £2.50 per person for the ghost train. £4 for 5 minutes for the trampoline. 4 PER GO ON HOOK A DUCK. £7.50 on a burger (so take food with you if you go) Straight away a lot of money spent. We then called it a day on the fair and got in the que for the fantasy land event which was what we paid the extra £7 per person for.First of all we qued for an hour. When we finally got in I couldn’t have been more disappointed and so where the kids. All’s it’s was we’re houses with dressed up people outside giving a little sweet or puzzle etc. No spooky things etc and we just qued some more until the end for the zombie event. We was given a bucket with about 7 balls in to Chuck at the zombies for when they come out and this was it, this is what we had paid all that money for. At the end in there is a lot of bouncy castles etc which we were advised it was another £3 per child for 10 minutes. Myself and so many other people were complaining due to the fact it should have been in with the price we had paid as we paid extra for fantasy land.I heard people complaining how disappointed they were in the event itself. We was there 3 hours and spent £100 and we didn’t enjoy it one bit. Will not be returning.

This year we thought we would do something a little different and take our 4 year old and 3 month old baby for afternoon tea on Halloween, Cattows tea room is in a lovely location only in the next village to where we live who offer great cakes and food so I thought the special spooky themed advertised afternoon tea sounded fantastic and not too far to travel.Firstly I had checked before booking how getting to the farm would be on the day as we had no interest in going to the halloween farm, I was reassured that the normal entrance would be open for cafe visitors on so we could avoid the Halloween entrance all together. To our dismay the entrance was locked when we arrived and we were diverted to the muddiest field for the halloween event, it was chaos and a complete field of mud! Non of the secruity guards could direct us to where we should have been going at all and just added the the stress is trying to get to the other end of the farm to the tea rooms, wading through fields of mud.We finally arrived where we were then greeted with a wait to be seated as the tea rooms where very busy. Thankfully the afternoon tea event had been located in separate rooms which we both glad of due to the noise of the main seating area and how busy it was. The space had been decorated nicely and the tables set out with plenty of space. A waitress explained allhot drinks were unlimited and inclusive to the afternoon tea event and we each ordered our drink. I also requested a cup of hot water to heat some baby milk as my little one was starting to get a little grumpy. Afternoon came, no drinks arrived. I had to ask twice for the hot water and eventually went to the till point to enquire as by this point we had a screaming baby and a 4 year oldwondering where drinks were. None of the waitresses seemed bothered to action our request. We waited over ten minutes for drinks to arrive, minus the glasses for our jug of water which were forgotten about entirely! The food looked great and the quality of the cakes and sandwiches were very good. 'Unlimted' Hot drinks were very hard to come by and I only got a refill as I asked immediately after having had my first arrive for another. Tables around us were all commenting about the lack of service.Toilets were very dirty, a lot of mud I am guessing brought in for outside. My husband had to mention to a server that the men's toilets were blocked and overflowing.Overall I feel the experience was a let down, this could have been a fantastic event if more was invested on service as the food and decor were very good. All of the things letting it down could have been addressed if the staff had been a little more attentive and approachable. I felt there was very little direction for the very young team who didn't really give anything in the form of customer service, they looked disinterested and unable to deal with any sort of query. I didn't come across a manager or anyone that seemed to be in charge and directing the team.

Me and my partner came here with our newborn for the first time to pick some pumpkins, first impressions looked really good however we found that we had to walk quite a distance to get pumpkins, and with a newborn it was very difficult. Most pumpkins on the field were smashed to pieces also. We managed to find some and paid. On the way out we went in the tea room to have a hot drink, this was very nice inside and enjoyed our drink. Will definately go somewhere else next year, not very impressed.

Think someone summed it up nicely saying All trick and no treat! Came for the Halloween event, 6 of us spending £60 just to get in. A further £100 on the Halloween afternoon tea so not a cheap day out. To then finding out the fairground was £2.50 per ride per child on top of this, the bouncy castle at the end of the Fantasy Land are a further £3 each just for 10mins. It was all pay out and not worth it at all. Fantasy Land was a 20min queue to a torn circus tent where we queued again inside to receive cheap sweets from non-halloween related characters. Bouncy castles at the end were the best thing but that was an extra cost and for only 10mins! The maze was a muddy swamp with no chance to wander on your own, following like a conveyor belt to the end in a damaged 'corn maze'. Luckily we didn't do the pumpkin picking as heard bad reviews and so glad we didn't as was another money making scheme with nothing in return. Then comes the Halloween afternoon tea....for £14 for children plus £18 each for adults my expectations were high. The spooky desserts were really good and the ideas were interesting however giving adults jam sandwiches and hardly any to share between 4 of us was disappointing. Was not worth the money we spent at all. The tea rooms itself are maintained to a high standard and was lovely and clean. Just a shame this doesn't resemble the rest of the farm. Just a total rip off from start to finish, after looking at everyone else's faces I could tell we all felt scammed. There was no atmosphere, no effort and staff looked as miserable as the weather! To anyone reading this...save your money and spend it on a place that puts heart into their events not there to just take your money and give nothing in return. Disgusting and disappointed!

Thought we would have a fun family day out.. pure rip off and boring! I know they can’t help the weather but it’s just mud everywhere, pumpkins don’t come with the entry fee! So we paid to literally walk around a muddy field! Staff are so dull, clearly bored! Absolutely rubbish, I’d rather go to Asda!

An absolutely overpriced pile of rubbish for this “experience”.Firstly with entry being £3 and Fantasy Land being £7 it cost us £40 as a family of 4 to walk to a field and choose two pumpkins that then cost over double what they would be in Sainsbury’s (£12).Loads of staff around but none were friendly and helpful and one diverted all the way around to the pumpkin field through the mud when we could have gone along the road. Then onto the Fantasy Land. What a pile of garbage. A few wood sheds with a token hallowe’en witch or clown next to it and three people dressed up and you get one lolly, one sweet and a small piece of tat.The zombie ball throwing is a good idea and fun but still doesn’t justify the price. The the fairground is only usual prices but shouldn’t really need it if the hallowe’en attraction is good. I know you can say no but I won’t do that to my kids so they went on the fair. For the amount we spent we could have gone to Sundown or Twinlakes all day and gone on rides constantly. We felt really ripped off for how much it cost compared to other places and won’t return again now.The £3 entry fee should be knocked off the cost of your pumpkins which are massively over priced anyway. The reviews moaning about the mud though are unfair! It is a farm!!

I have been to Cattows every year for the last 7 years, it’s the only pumpkin picking location our children have been, it’s such a shame that the special place we had for local residents to enjoy had turned in to a free for all to find a pumpkin that isn’t smashed amongst the whole of the midlands. It’s become expensive & very stressful with the amount of people and pre paying and locked fences for access and checking of payment for pumpkins when we have already paid to walk round a field- no flooring very slippy & not suitable for wheelchair or pushchair access- I recently went to another event on a park and plastic paths were put throughout. Everything was extra payment and everything has definitely increased in price, we got so fed up we picked our pumpkins and skipped everything else, it’s such a shame but will definitely be trying someone else next year!

Nothing to see apart from photo opportunity areas dotted around, to use bouncy castles in the big tent another £6 for 2 kids for 10 mins..should of been included in the price..disgusting.. a long queue for mase..did'nt even bother at this point went straight to fun fair..dodgems £6 for 2 kids. Never again will I return here. Feel robbed! So disappointed. Also was a proper mud bath!

Visited on 28th October before reading the reviews. Paid over £60 for 4 adults with a 2 yr and 5 yr old. Ludicrous amount really, but made the most of our time. Highlights for our granddaughter was the haze and meeting Dorothy and the Tin Man. The restaurant staff were very helpful in fitting us in and the food was good quality, staff did their best but were obviously very busy not too badly priced considering. Worst bits, the cost of the funfair, absolute RIP off for little ones especially after paying entrance fee which caused some tears after we had to set a limit as it was so expensive. After passing through Fantasy Land they had the cheek to try and charge yet more for the bouncy castle, we had to put our foot down and refused unfortunately, get a grip Cattows Farm and if you're going to charge make it an inclusive cost, just because we're grandparents we're not stupid. This was our first visit, we won't be back. Gave 3 stars as the restaurant made up for disappointment in other areas otherwise it would've been a 1 star review.

This year was definitely bigger but we have been robbed!!! This year there was an entry fee and the pumpkins were a lot more expensive and that’s an understatement! Mini orange pumpkins were £1 each! Unfortunately will not be returning next year!

I would never have gone had I known how expensive this would be! So many hidden costs! When you first walk in you’re met with a fair with is £3/£4 a ride! Fantasy land took all of 10 minutes to walk though and the kids got a couple of chew sweets and 60 seconds of plants vs zombies, nothing in it for the adults who are made to pay too! And then they expect more money at the end for the 10 minutes on a bouncy castle. No sign posts informing where the entry to the maze was, no staff around there to help either, staff on the main gate refused to get a supervisor when we asked and had an awful attitude when we expressed our disappointment, she shrugged and said I can’t do anything and we should email them, no prices for pumpkins, so you carry them through 2 fields of smashed and rotting ones to be told they want £30 for 4 of them at the end, we put them down and left, Ridiculous! £3 for a bottle of pop and £9 for a burger! We won’t be returning again!

Dreadful Halloween experience A rip off. A muddy money making pit. Everything was extra and worse, fantasy land (which was basically a covid queue with things to look at in a tent) was double the price on the day!

Me & my wife took our 4yr old daughter to the so called halloween spectacular at Cattows last weekend & my advice to anyone planning to go is Do not bother. After walking for what seamed like an age to the pumkin fields to find hundreds of smashed and rotten pumkins we went on to the fantasy land we had paid £27 for and what a comlpete waste of money. We were stuck in a queue for over an hr around trick or treat street at which our daughter received 3 of the cheapest little sweets and a pathetic pot of slime. As you can imagine queuing for that long is no fun for a little one.We then reched the plants Vs zombies where you were given 5 foam balls to throw and finally a few bouncy castles which you had to pay extra for.An absolutely rubbish experience for our daughter who had been so looking forward to some halloween fun and was left highly disappointed. We loved going Cattows over previous years but now its been turned into a big money making scam.We wasted £60 for nothing and i hope this review will stop others going through the same disappointing experience we did. Save your money and take your kids somewhere fun insteadAnd to Cattows why don't you stop trying to rip people off and just go back to what you used to do, sell pumokins

For years we have been visiting Cattows for pumpkins. Yes, they are move expensive than other places, but for the day out and searching for the perfect pumpkin it was great... BUT, now charging £6 per person (including a 2 year old!) is outrageous. Never again. Nearly £40 for 3 pumpkins and entry. We'll find somewhere else next year. And all of those other times we visit, for the Maze or just coffee, not anymore.

We usually go every year to cattows farm for Halloween! Last year we went Halloween world at night time and it was a bloody mess absolute rip off we qued for two hours in the rain no one knew what they were doing! The actors couldn’t be bothered! I complained they did nothing deleted messages So this year we was loyal and still booked for 5 of us to enjoy the pumpkin patch when we arrived there was a massive que they had over booked! We was in the que one hour and it wasn’t going down at all so the boys were getting upset we had to leave and go home! I really feel that the farm have gotten greedy and it’s money over customers. I also feel they are dishonest by deleting peoples comments and removing them from their page! Not responding to emails ect I am disgusted won’t be going back again!!

We did the Halloween Farm yesterday and I can honestly say it was disgraceful! I agree with most of your comments, far to over priced for what you actually get. We did nothing but queue for everything, the staff were extremely rude. We paid for everything in advance including £10 voucher of pumpkins only the two we picked came to £8 and we couldn’t get change nor get a ghost pumpkin and pay the difference? A ‘manager’ then followed us after we questioned it and the security man even apologised for the way the manager spoke to us. Honestly having paid nearly £100 for the 6 (including a baby) of us. It was a complete rip off as that only gets you entry! I won’t be rushing back anytime soon and will be supporting smaller family farms Also … COVID? What’s COVID? There’s clearly no thought of COVID nor sanitisation anywhere! Very very poor!

I’ve been going to cattows for 5 years to pick pumpkins and have seen it’s evolution. This year is the most money grabbing and corporate it’s ever been.I understand issues around the theft of pumpkins that has resulted in an entry fee, however, this should be refunded when you purchase pumpkins and should not have resulted in extortionately priced pumpkins. The pumpkin field itself was full of tall dying weeds, nettles and rotten pumpkins. Given we payed an entry feel I expected better levels of maintenance than previous years. Then when it came to buying the pumpkins it was 95p per kilo for orange ones, then £1 each per munchkin (they’re 35p at Aldi for the same thing which I hate to say!) and they vary in size so much. I got about 6-7 pumpkins from munchkin to 10kg for £35, which is crazy! Previous years I got around 15-20 pumpkins of varying sizes for £15. This is ridiculous and really needs to be sorted! I will go elsewhere next year, despite my loyalty to Cattows. I also would like to note that I’ve had my pumpkins for 2 weeks and already they’re mostly rotten and mouldy. I washed and waxed them when I brought them home as usual, and previously they’ve lasted past Halloween at least, most of the time until Christmas. I am greatly disappointed and would dissuade anyone from visiting this year.

Awful from start to finish. Very difficult to find. Look for the queue of traffic. Waited around half hour to get into the muddy car park. No signs or maps to show you where attractions are. Fantasy land was sold out as was the maize so had to make do with the fairground (not included in the price). Didn’t want any pumpkins so we basically drove all the way for some fair rides. Basically, just don’t bother going. It’s a waste of time and money. I posted a review on the Facebook page of the venue, which was then deleted so I suspect you can add dishonesty to the list too. Looking here all reviews are negative so good to know I wasn’t the only one mislead. Avoid at all costs

totally disorganised and expensive. Fantasy area not scary at all which is what halloween is about. Avoid at all cost if you have a pram all the mud was clogging up so many wheels. Tea room lovely but cost of produce is sky high and flies kept flying over our dinner. We will stick to what we know next time. Also ramps in fantasy area not highlighted in luminous tape so serious trip hazard in the dark. They made mistake with pumpkin ticket so had to spend time in pouring rain trying to explain ourselves...when you wear a lanyard no one cares about social distancing. So many parents having to carry their children due to prams being ruined...not very well thought out also no wifi working, toilets wouldn't flush and no hand sanitiser provided in toilets
