Catherine's Inn in North Somerset

On our stay in lympsham we ate at the cathrines inn most of the week the food was great and a decent price,the staff were fantastic we would recommend 100% and look forward to our nxt visit.

We eat here a lot with a group of friends. Twice a week Sunday lunches excellent, Staff are great Sarah is brilliant she makes everyone feel really welcome and she's got excellent service the manager is excellent he looks after us they all do without exception they put a table by for us as there can be as many as 10 or 12 people friends and family I recommend everybody go and try out their food and the staff are fantastic they just look after you so well

Great food on the 2 classics for £11.99, & soft drinks, warm hospitality, play area for the kiddies, plus the pool table, good location, lots of car parking.

Been 9 years since we were last here, was hoping for a better return. NAH. Ordered steak. Was ok I guess. Bar staff were very off, barmaid wouldn't serve the hubby, she walked off and said the bloke will serve you and she proceeded to serve customers who came in after us. The music was blaring, and the mc had his belly hanging out over his shirt and trousers, just what you want as you eat your dinner. Nah think I will leave it another 9 years. Avoid if you like your hearing and your eyesight.

Treat staff like crap made a staff member cry and then tried to deny it all when got confronted. Staff are rude and can’t handle busy periods. Waitresses seem to do all the work

I come here Tuesday night. For the first time was served by someone called Sarah. I had a few issues had a few issues as it was Quiz night But Sarah was very helpful and did everythink she could to help the situation for that gave her five stars

We regularly attend the Catherine’s Inn . The service is always great. Sarah who works here is the friendliest welcoming person, she always goes up and beyond.

Live relatively locally but not been in for some time, was coming in for just a drink, but a lovely staff member "Stacey" convinced us to stay and have somthing to eat, nice and friendly place, nice to see it doing well.

This pub is such a lovely pub good atmosphere and the staff were so polite and welcoming. Food was piping hot and cooked to perfection. The kids loved the desserts.

Went for tea with family and had a lovely meal. The food was delicious and speedy, The service was perfect and Rhys was very polite and helpful. We were a party of six and a lot of areas were closed off with reserved signs to save work for the staff. Another couple were kind enough to give up their table so we could put two together to be able to sit together

Although it was busy we received great service. The staff were smiley and friendly. We were served by Charlie who made sure we had everything we needed. The toilets were lovely and clean very highly recommended.

This was the fourth time we have visited and each time was as good if not better than the last. The food is first class and great value, especially the beef madras.

Staff amazing, they got all the meals for 21 of us out hot, timely and really tasty. Nothing was too much trouble and they were so good with the nine children.

We’ve just eaten at Catherine’s Inn and, as per usual, have had a lovely meal. I chose the Jumbo Crispy Chicken and it stayed hot right until the last mouthful! A big difference from another Hungry Horse - The Bridge Inn at Yatton, where we ate last week and the food was cold.

Went to Catherine’s inn for dinner with the family & it was a lovely time. The staff were so kind & Chris was so kind to my little girl getting her some ice when she hurt her lip. Wonderful place. Wonderful food. Wonderful staff.

Went here tonight for a birthday party and the bartender Carter was absolutely amazing. Great sense of humor and customer service. He made our visit enjoyable and engaged with his customers. I’d give him a 10 star if I could. Thanks Carter for being great.

When with a friend ordered double beef burger ( Each 1/2" /12.7 millimetres thick ) The burgers were in-between a bun with and lettuce also with a good portion of chips served on a large plate. The food was so much I could only eat half the burger. All-in-all great food at a great price. How much? I think it was £5.99

As this pub was the only one which could accommodate over 30 of us after a car show I was a little bit apprehensive because the decor is very outdated and badly in need of a clean and refurbish.

Had a lovely dinner with my grandad I had curry tikka and chicken new yorker . Paul service us at the tills but Julie was the one that made it great happy nice and so friendly will come again soon when grandad is down

We had booked our table as there was 10 of us & it was ready on our arrival,all our meals came out at the same time & we all had different meals & we had no complaints regarding our food ,it was all very good.I would like to say well done to the lad behind the bar called Paul,we joined the queue of 8 customers in front of us & the queue just got bigger & bigger & he was the only one serving & what a great job he done.I know it was a Friday night but surely more staff should be on to help.Sadly the Toilets were a big let down.

Visited on the evening of Wednesday 29th August with family. Staff were friendly and very approachable it was very busy so we were told we couldn’t order food at first until they’d caught up. Within 10 mins a member of staff found us and informed us we could order so we weren’t forgotten. All the fixtures seemed very dated and there was a grubby feel about the place which is a shame and it’s obvious that it’s needed a serious uplift for some time. Lots of choice on the menu and you can really eat cheap here if that’s your thing. The food came out promptly and was good for the money if you like cheap. To be fair I don’t normally like this type of establishment selling cheap meals as they’re often a little on the dirty side and I regard the food as nothing more than mediocre. This place used to be the best of a bad bunch in my opinion but I’m not so sure I can say that anymore. Just new plates and cutlery would make me feel better about eating here.

Came here today and was very disappointed.firstly had to hunt for a clean table which there wasn't any so ended up clearing it myself.secondly my meal was cold and gave it back to waitress who took it away came back 5mins later and meal was still luke warm x then I went to the loo omg they r filthy and disgusting wish I wouldve seen loos first because of I did I would not have bothered to order food God knows wot the kitchen is like x will never return here .

Have usually enjoyed going to a Hungry Horse pub for a meal. This one has put me off the chain for good. Very miserable staff, phone never answered, food all over the floor, had to clean our own tables, food was served slightly warm with old looking salad, of the 9 of us all failed to finish the food, all the decor was in a scruffy condition didn’t make us feel welcome at all

This place is filthy; food all over the floor, flies everywhere, tables dirty, chairs sticky, staff grumpy and food cold and unpleasant.

Service was awful, 4 adults and 2 children eating 2 adults and 2 children food came out but other 2 adult meals had to wait at least 10 minutes if not 20. When they finally came out 1 was missing the toast for the All day Breakfast so had to wait for that. Then the sides didn't come out and actually had to call the guy back and ask him for them. Table was dirty although was cleaned by a lovely member of staff when asked. The toilets was soooo dirty and smelt really really bad of piss it was rancid. The food was of average pub grub though.

We went quite late on, on Sunday evening & it was pretty quiet. Walking, saw a few tables abandoned with dirty plates still on, and loos were not great. However, we were hungry so we stayed. All 4 of us were so pleasantly surprised by the food...halloumi Mexican salad was absolutely delicious & loads of halloumi, NY chicken was great, 1/2 chicken sizzler lovely & rump steak was a bit undercooked, but when sent back, a fresh steak came out & was perfect & a free dessert offered. No complaints about the food or service whatsoever. The 2 lads serving were so friendly & professional, the girl was a little abrupt but we put it down to it being late so we were fine with it. They were WAY understaffed. They just weren’t able to keep on top of the cleaning, I’d have walked out without ordering if it wasn’t so late which would’ve been a shame, as meal was lovely.

Aside from the terrible reviews voiced by many others. This establishment finds it acceptable to hold a high volume outdoor concert on a saturday night whilst being situated less than 250 yards from a holiday park filled with families and residents. The noise levels even at 22.30 were loud enough to make sleep impissible for children in the vicinity, upset animals and cause stress to those of us who have to get up for work. I hope greene king are proud of themselves. A formal written complaint will be sent to head office as well as the local council noise enforcement team.

We visited on a sunday afternoon. It was reasonably busy (as you'd expect) Only 1 person serving drinks and taking food orders Looking rather harrassed and was quiet abrupt at times. We waited about 15mins to order our desserts

We used to go here with our children. We returned last week with our grandchildren and couldn't believe the state of the place.

We Ordered our meals and drinks and my glass had lipstick marks on it so when I went to the bar to ask for another, instead of exchanging it the lady just tipped it into another glass and said she hadn't got time to do me a new one and commented that it was probably my colour ( how rude ). When our meals came out they the steak was supposed to be medium and it was medium rare so we sent it back but by the time the rest of us had eaten our meals that meal still hadn't came back so I had to go back to the bar and ask for it. Overall the place has gone downhill and the bar staff don't care about the customer

In the area visiting Sunday evening and popped in with the sis and grand kids for evening meal around 8.30ish and informed when I could find a member of staff and asked what time food was served until and told 9.45 which I though great plenty of time. Went to the bar to order drinks and let's just say the young barman was extremely rude and hadn't developed any customer service skills for the industry he had chosen to be employed in. Was made to feel he was actually doing me a favour by serving me 4 large cokes. Apart from about a dozen people the pub was empty so wasn't like they didn't need the custom.

After a wonderful day out we went into Catherins's Inn . Hunger took us in there and utter disappointmentioned drive us out , no staff , very poor food and the place was filthy. Wanted to complain but my daughter just wanted to get out!

The menu look good, but the food was awful. I had macaroni cheese, which was dried up, just like eating a dish of soggy macaroni. My husband and granddaughter chose beef lasagne, also awful. It was 95% lasagne, 5% beef, very dry and hot one end, cold the other end. I had Coca Cola which tasted watered down. The one positive was the puddings - I had apple crumble and custard, which was perfect. My granddaughter close an icecream sundae, also perfect. Can't blame the staff for slow service - Hungry Horse take note. There was one poor guy running the busy bar and taking food orders - not fair on him. He looked stressed, (not surprising, as it was a busy lunchtime, full of holidaymakers from the caravan site opposite) but he managed to remain pleasant and friendly. Top marks to him! We live locally, but will never return here. Shame, as we used to come here a lot, but Hungry Horse have ruined what was once a good place to eat.

Popped in on Sat for a breakfast was absolutely lovely was first served by Julie who greeted me with a smile took my order Sat me down and brought me a hot cup of tea ten minutes later and my breakfast arrived all piping hot and fresh best breakfast had in a long time asked Julie if I could speak to the chef and she bought out a lady named Jess bloody lovely that was I said could of eaten again. As we were in Weston I thought we would go for a treat to Catherine's Inn in Bleadon, somewhere we used to go for the occasional treat. It has been some 12 years since we visited there and I thought we (my wife and I) would have a pleasant interlude.

Hi visited the Hungary horse the Catherine’s at bleadon last night. We wasn’t welcome by any staff none to be seen had to look for them at 9.10pm, the pub had only two other people in. The staff wasn’t in a rush to greet and serve us, felt we wasn’t wanted there and all they wanted to do is to close up. Finally we placed an order, the food wasn’t that amazing the onion rings had been re-cooked tasted like rubber and the mushy peas looked like they had just been spooned out of the tin and cold. None of the staff was interested in sorting. Then the waitress came out of the kitchen with a cigarette in her mouth. None of the staff on shift looked happy to be there, so from my experience again it hasn’t improved will be avoiding in the future.

Called in as I had not been for a while. Had two specials off the menu two meals for 8.49 very good service and good for the price and very hot.would go again as the staff have changed for the better.the managers juli e was very polite and welcoming.

I came here on Sunday whilst on holiday with my family. I can’t fault the food or the service. We ordered 2 roast dinners for only £10! Plus a reasonably priced burger. All in all we were impressed with our visit!

After we had eaten here (food was basic ) I visited the ladies loo , omg ! Disgusting , dirty and not just messy I mean really dirty . It is a germ fest ! I wonder how clean the rest of the place is ? To the manager .... please go and visit my local table table ( the mill) in Eastbourne and look at their immaculate standards of cleanliness ! If the area manager is reading this please get in and sort the filth out ! I just wish I was here on one of my market force assignments !!!!

Hi , we came across this pub yesterday when we broke down and were waiting for a recovery truck . We arrived around 8.30 pm with our 2 very tired and hungry grandchildren and their mother . We were greeted by Julia the manageress with a warm smile and helpful manner , she also went beyond the the line of duty when I asked if there was anywhere we could charge our mobile phones . Not only did she offer to help she went and got one of her own plug in adaptors and set it on charge for us as we chose our meals . We had 2x Fish n Chips 1 x lasagne and 2 childrens meal ( Monday was a promotion night this week for childrens meals at 1 pound per childs meal ) we had some drinks and the whole added up to around 20 pounds . Importantly the food was warm fresh and tasted good . Also a mention to the young man who served our drinks helpful cheerful and polite . Julie well done lovely experience this is a great place for good value English pub food , and your great kindness and help to all our needs , and the plug in adaptor , well as I was leaving Julia came up to me and gave it as a present so we would have one always with us . A very kind and thoughtful gesture . If we are in the area again we will visit . Thanks again and we left you about 10 pm and arrived home safe and sound . Well done all , thanks Julia .

Booked this pub as a family meeting place (daughter and two children drove up from Cornwall, Mother-in-Law from Weston and my Wife and drove up from Southampton). We all arrived early and Steve gave us a really friendly greeting and immediately showed us our reserved table. We said we'd liked to have drinks outside first so the kids could play in the playground after the long journey - no problem. Later I asked for menus, again no problem. When the food was ready we came in and there was masses of food. All the food was well cooked and of ample portions. My Big Daddy Burger was particularly good. As a treat for children I ordered the Ultimate sharing pudding and their eyes nearly popped out of their heads when they saw it! Needless to say we all had a dip into it "to help out the children".

Food was horrible. Pub has gone downhill! Chairs were dirty and sticky, fences falling over in the play area. found a USED condom in the soft play area, staff were informed but did nothing, my partner ended up using a nappy bag to pick it up himself! VILE place now!!
