Just about passable. 1/ sit inside as it is much warmer than the outside cloisters. 2/ all the cushions are well worn and need replacing, the staff don't really know what they are doing, the service is a bit hit and miss, the prices are expensive to say the least. The toilets are ok. There must be better places to eat in Worcester as there cant be much worse places to eat. Seems to attract eccentrics like people who shout across the cafe to other diners and people who employ their phone on loud speaker thinking that this is acceptable for modern public interaction in britain.

On a visit to see the wonderful Christmas trees we called at the cafe where the staff were working under pressure. I ordered soup which was served lukewarm in a cardboard cup with a plastic teaspoon which seemed to be at odds with the ecological message of the tree display. The soup came with sliced bread and no butter. A dismal experience.

Rather disappointed with our toastie lunch today (29/09/22). Hot food served on stone cold plates, so food didn’t stay as hot as it would have on a hotter/warmed plate. Plus, we were given a coffee and not the camomile tea, that we had ordered. The one saving grace was the excellent service (in spite of wrong drink and cold food), which could not be faulted. The ladies were cheerful, helpful and dealt with the error swiftly. Well done!

Despite 6 staff and a queue of only 5 orders ahead of us, the purchase of 4 ice-cream took over 15 mins. They could improve matters if all the food orders were sent out after queuing. One lady served a customer drinks and pasties and the rest of us were all looking bemused, how long it took.

My friend and I were visiting to see the Christmas tree display which was amazing, we went into the cafe for a snack and hot drink, we chose a fruit scone each with jam, sad to say the scones were stale, hard and inedible we had to throw them away, the queue to be served was long otherwise we would have taken them back, so that’s why I’ve left a review.

I only review when I find a truly excellent place, and this is one. Where have you ever had home-made haggis on the menu in October? There is also fish pie and other proper fare including vegetarian! But the haggis is outstanding, as is normal as the cook is from Scotland. I hesitate to recommend as this is a TINY restaurant. Do go when in Worcester.

Dined here whilst visiting the cathedral. Pleasant, efficient staff with good choice of food. You could choose to eat in the cafe or in the cloisters as we did. Cheerful tablecloths and plant helped with the experience. I had a jacket potato with cheese and salad whilst hubby chose broccoli quiche with new potatoes. He also had a starter of tomato soup.

On a recent visit to Worcester we passed this café several times because we were staying at the nearby Diglis House Hotel. It looked very attractive, so on our last day when my husband and I had agreed to meet back at the Hotel, he decided to call in for lunch. I had been on a coach trip which ended round the corner. My husband jumped out saying "I'm in here having lunch!" So I went in and joined him in some freshly made broccoli soup. The lunch choices were wonderful. To end the visit I went to the ladies room, and halfway home realized I had left my ring in the ladies. I shouldn't have worried because the beautiful Scottish lady proprietor had found it and tried to find me. This café is a stone's throw from the Cathedral, King's School, the river Severn and the Worcester Porcelain Museum which is in the process of being renovated. It is a short distance from the city centre, but well worth a detour. I can't recommend it highly enough..

A bitterly cold day to visit the Cathedral. My feet were like blocks of ice so we nipped in here for lunch. We were seated in the window with the winter sun weakly beaming in. Two radiators either side were just the job. My husband had full English which he said was deliciously fresh, except for the bacon. He likes his bacon cremated. I told him he should have asked, the cheerful Scottish ladies would have done it. I had milk poached haddock on spuds with an egg on top. Perfectly cooked fish. My old mate, Chris, had scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. She ate every last bit. So all in all a very successful lunch at a slightly batty establishment that made us very welcome and who's cooks can cook simple food really, really well.

We popped in to the Cathedral Cafe for a quick lunch whilst out shopping on Saturday. It makes such a lovely change to eat in a cafe that isn't part of a national chain, and has some local atmosphere. The cafe is run by a mother and daughter combo, and they work extremely hard to make everyone feel really welcome - from the builders who pop in for a bacon sandwich, to the regulars who stop for afternoon tea. I had duck & orange pate with granary toast, and it was outstanding - it always is. Ciana (the owner) does make the most awesome pates, her chicken liver pate is also fabulous. My husband had the homemade lasagna which was really delicious, and this was accompanied by chunky potato wedges - really yummy!
