Really enjoyable night... food was great... the staff were incredible.. super friendly and even though some food wasn't unavailable the alternatives were really nice... and actually had a great night... and a lovely pudding worth a candle and birthday song xxx thanks guys

Everything burnt from gamon and egg to burgers and hunt the cheese, no come back to say is everything alright. Won’t be rushing back.

We visited on April 30th with relations who were over from Australia. We hadn't been to The Catchems for a while and thought we'd give it a go. We had a drink then ordered our food. 45 minutes and a couple of requests where our food was later we got our soup and prawn cocktails. After the plates were taken our mains turned up ½ an hour later. Sadly the 2 jacket potatoes ordered had to be returned as they were cold. So it really was a very disappointing experience all round that took 2 hours and 20 minutes. I pub wasn't even at capacity, or any where near. I'd hate to have gone on a weekend. I understand this can't be the norm or else they simply wouldn't be in business, but regretfully it was enough to put me off going back. On a plus note the Peddi is nice

Ordered meals for 6 people and had to wait over 1.5 hours for it arrive at our table. This was due to only 1 chef being rota'd on shift and 3 other members of staff.

Sat in here with my family. Left early as a couple of tables were taking over the entire pub, shouting and singing disgusting obscenities across the pub. Same people in there night on night ruining the atmosphere for everyone else. Staff were not even trying to shut them up, and kids were very upset/scared. We come here very often and its the same scenario every time, but will stop bothering now as its fallen into disrepute.

Do not eat here...absolutely dreadful.. Got to one of the worst meals ever... Surely just basic pub food should be easy..we are not talking fine dining for fs... Just a shocker..will not be going again. Minis 5 stars..I wouldn't feed my dog there.

So pleasing that the pub has had a great refurb in September the staff are excellent food great value for money However the ladies toilets need some attention loose toilet seats flush handles don't work great shame after the refurb have told staff on numerous occasions to date nothing done about it

We went to the catchems for the first time in ages. The place has completely changed with new decor and better management with mike and belinda. The team are really nice and friendly, i always feel welcomed by marie. Harry goes above and beyond to deliver excellent service.

I have been to the Catchems a few times over the years but I must say after the new refurbishment it’s so much better to visit. We received brilliant service from Harry who was understanding and went above and beyond ensuring my Autistic partners meal was correct as he struggles with food being wrong.

Visiting for Sunday lunch for a family members Birthday, there was no menu telling you what Sunday lunch choices there was so I had to go to the website to look online at the sunday menu. I chose an xl roast beef dinner with pigs in blankets for an extra £1 and cauliflower cheese for an extra pound, on ordering at the bar we was told they don't do any extras. When the meal came there was no broccoli and no mashed potato like the menu stated, and the beef was cut so thick you could wedge a door open with it. The food itself tasted like a microwave TV dinner, not good. Definitely will not be going back ever again.

Lovely family and dog friendly pub with childrens play area . Three courses at lunch time for less than six pounds . Owners Mike and Belinda have lots going on like live bands and discos on a weekend and quiz on a Sunday. Well worth a visit.

Just visited the catchems with my husband and son. The new decor is beautiful and the service was amazing. My family and I had a fabulous meal and the waitress who was named Grace was very attentive, helpful and asked whether we enjoyed our meal. An overall brilliant experience and I would definitely go again.

I have been coming to the Catchems for over a year now. It has undergone many changes in twelve months and the last three have been the best yet. There is lots of entertainment at the weekends, live bands, open Mike night and discos. I can come in on my own and am always feel welcome. There are more staff now serving both behind the bar and in the restaurant it truly has got so much better. There is a great menu and the food is fantastic as well as the service. There is a good selection of traditional ales, lager's, wines and lots of good quality spirits to whet your palates!! There are light bites, full main meals, children's menu and a good value lunch menu served before 3pm. There is lots of outdoor seating, perfect for a snack in the sun, when it's shining!! The smoking area is covered, with heaters and lots of seating. The cleanliness of the restaurant, bar and outside areas is high thanks to a dedicated management team and all the staff. I thoroughly enjoy the time I spend in the Catchems. It's a fantastic place to meet for a family meal, intimate dinning, company event or lone dinning. If it has been a while since you visited you are missing out on a great experience. Mike and his team really have created a fun filled place with lots of choice for everyone. That's why I give them six out of five stars. It just keeps on getting better and better and loooooong may it continue.

Price is alright but in line with most similar pubs with similar fare. The staff are rushed despite the pub not being that busy, several beers have run out, the speaker system is pumping out music at a volume that makes talking difficult and comes with a side order of annoying feedback. The staff are obviously rushed and this is impacting their temperament and customer interactions. Food was OK when it arrived after 45 minutes for 2 meals (no starters etc) but nothing I couldn't get elsewhere with a more pleasant experience.

We've used the pub regularly for over 20 years and the food and service has always been up and down, dependant on who's been managing it. I went with my friend last week (14/09) and the food and service was excellent. We had table service from a member of staff we haven't seen before, Ollie, who was exceptional, probably the best service we've ever had in the Catchems.

Been using this pub for the last 12 years as a proper local, great staff, good selection of beers and decent pub grub. Unfortunately this place has rapidly gone downhill fast. Never enough staff on when busy, always running out of lagers and food portions and quality have dropped markedly. I am surprised that the few staff who still work here have stayed as they are always rushed off their feet but always remain friendly. Credit to them. This pub should be a gold mine for Marstons but installing novices to run a pub this size is a massively fundamental mistake. Please get an experienced person in before all the regulars move on to somewhere else. I am not holding my breath.

We came here for a quiet family meal and it was made so much better by the lovely young waiter Ollie. He must be new but he was so attentive and pleasant and it was a pleasure to spend the evening here. Keep up the good work, Ollie!! :-)

Came here for a quick lunch on a Saturday. Very good prices, food was good pub grub. However the staff seemed busy even though it was quiet, not sure if they need more staff as it's a big bar for one person to manage.

Went in with a friend for a meal and drinks. The 2 bar staff were rushed off their feet but still friendly. Felt sorry for them really. There were no chips - only fries. Portion sizes seem to have shrunk too - hardly any mushy peas on my plate.

Arrived with friends for lunch. Order was bit mixed up to start with but was quickly put right. Food was good, cheap and cheerful. Prosecco £10 per bottle which was really good price. We all had dessert, the tiramisu was a bit bland but in all we had a lovely time and would return. Staff were really friendly, our favourite being Daniel who was amazing. Been here many times before but won't be going back. visited tonight at 5 o'clock. Waited over 30 minutes for ham egg and chips. When I went to the bar to ask if there was a problem was told I'll go and see. Was told it was ready but meat had dried up so just putting fresh meat on and be out shortly. It arrived a couple of minutes later with fresh ham but egg had obviously been left under heat lamp as they were solid. We asked for them to be replaced which they did. I ordered cold chocolate fudge cake for dessert and got warm cake. Hubby ordered peach Melba cake and got coconut!! Think the manageress needs to spend less time on the phone and help her very pushed staff out.

We vowed not to go back to the Catchems a few months ago after terrible food, but decided to give it another go after seeing the advert for the new pizza oven.

We had recently visited The Sump in Winshill to take advantage of the Martson's Lunch Bunch, served Noon till 3pm weekdays. Main / Starter / Pudding deal. Very good value for money. Catchems does the same deal, but instead of taking 15 minutes we experienced at The Sump, the first course wasn't delivered until 40 minutes had passed from ordering. The pudding followed on very quickly, so we were out in just over the hour. The food was of the same standard and overall very good, but the initial wait spoiled the experience.

Very poor meal, deep South chicken no flavour, steak full of gristle and no steak knives offered, sides very poor for the price and staff very uninformed about what they're bringing to the table

Group of 30 booked and chose menu in October. Went on 12th December. Neither of the courses my wife ordered was available. Other dishes not available. Our choices should have been set aside reserved for us! Of four brie parcels only one had any brie on it. The vegetables were cold. Then they ran out of Christmas pudding! The service was poor, one waitress to serve 26 people. She did her best but not good enough as other staff were doing nothing. The meal was booked for 1:30 but service started at 2:00 and was slow. We walked out in disgust at 3:45. Would not go again and won't recommend it! The was no staff supervision and nobody seemed to be in charge or care.
