Castle view Indian cuisine in Lincoln

Picked up a takeaway from here whilst on a mega munch and boy did it satisfy my munchy cravings. Food was top quality, customer service was awesome and waiting room is beautiful. My little stoned self was amazed at the glass table with all the different types of knots in it, nice touch 👌 Would definitely recommend and would definitely visit again next time we are passing

Large range of good curry. Good sized helpings, too. We went earlyish with our two small children. The food was perfect because the kids can have milder curries or chips, naan, poppadums etc unlike in Thai restaurants.

Just collected a take away for the 1st time from here drove 20 minutes to get home the food was piping hot still and immense flavours genuinely the tastiest Indian meal we’ve eating from anywhere We’ve eaten once in the restaurant aswell which again delicious and full of flavours and the service was excellent Definitely recommend this amazing place

I have this as my top go to restaurant. The food is superb and served with a smile. The bare brick walls and pillars subdued lighting create an intimate effect without being claustrophobic.

Went for a meal with some friends. The takeaway for this restaurant is very busy. We arrived at 7.30pm and had to work our way through a very busy takeaway collection area. Could almost do with another entrance for the restaurant. The restaurant is on the first floor and you weren't crowded in the restaurant. The staff were very attentive and the dishes we had were very tasty. The food was reasonably priced. Would certainly go back. Advisable to book a table, like we did as it was busy.

The atmosphere, the welcome, and the food was simply stunning. The taste was sensational. Best Indian I have tasted. Will definitely return. What a meal 5*******

Very nice food hot and tasty. Plus plenty of it. Drinks are a little expensive, but tonight we did get a couple of complimentary drinks which was really nice.

The best curry I’ve had in years. Until I visited this place, I had started to believe that all Indian restaurants were using the same sauces. Very good service too. A steep climb from the city centre to work up an appetite.

Very fine. Good indian starter. Shami and Sheek. Lamb Mudoori with Bombay Pototas, Kashmiri rice. Would, have to ask my friends if this is an actual meal or dish for the British. Resturant, good job. Baby Okra fingers, Stamford could just beat this. 2nd in fancy food. No packing food like salt or sugar to fill it out, hope not.

Booked a table for 19:30 but arrived a few minutes early at around 19:25 as when you book it says your table must be returned 1.5hrs after the booking so not wanting to rush we arrived with a few minutes to spare. When we arrived we were told the table would be ready in 5 minutes which was absolutely fine as we were early. Then after about 10 minutes the girl behind the counter informed us it would probably be about another 5 minutes. During this 5 minutes a group of 4 have arrived and been able to go straight to their table. Another 10 minutes passes and still nothing. We finally got shown to our table just before 8pm which I didn’t understand because when we got upstairs there were 2 tables free, 1 of which remained free for the duration of our visit and no one left whilst we were waiting. The food was ok, not the worst food I’ve ever had but certainly not the best. The chicken tikka masala sauce was more like a tomato sauce and I couldn’t really taste anything other than tomato’s, it had no real flavour. I was quite disappointed because I’ve heard such good things about this place and I was expecting more. That said, I will probably go back to give them a second chance as everyone has off days!

Some of the best food I’ve had in a long time, the lamb badam pasanda was absolutely amazing and the sweet chilli sauce made for a delicious drink. It’s also very fairly priced for its quality, and easy 10/10, definitely going again!

Amazingly poor customer service. After several weeks of unanswered emails, and unreturned messages, I finally got through to someone who called themselves the manager. I’ve been trying to find a venue to host regular dinner meetings for a group of business owners. I didn’t even get through my initial opening until they interrupted me, mumbled something incoherent, and hung up on me.

After so many years, still the best Indian restaurant in Lincoln. So generous with takeaway orders too.

Staff were very friendly, food was excellent

I've been here a couple of times before with work and the food and service has been excellent so I decided to book it for me and my partners 5 year anniversary. I booked the table for 8pm and we were both looking forward to it all week. Drove 25 minutes to get there and arrived early at 7.55pm. Got told that our table would be ready in 10 minutes which was absolutely fine and so we waited outside. Went back in at 8.10pm and were told that the table was just being made. Waited another 10 minutes until 8.20pm and the table still wasn't ready 20 minutes after our original booking time so we decided to give up and leave. Absolutely no communication or apology from the staff. During all of this time a big group of 30 people turned up and got shown straight to their table. Obviously the restaurant will make a lot more money from 30 people than they would have from myself and my partner, so clearly we were not as welcomed or valued. Ruined our anniversary and therefore I won't be going back.

My husband and I went for a meal here after xmas as it had such goid reviews. We were sadly very disappointed. We were squashed in on a small table. We were unable to sit opposite each other as there was no room, so we had to sit next to each other on a corner. Every time someone went past, they banged into my chair. We were so close to the people on the next table. They actually joined our conversation because they thought we were talking to them. I ordered a Chicken Kurhai, it was bright red, and tasted like a chicken tikka, a really bad chicken tikka at that. Our table was booked for 7 pm. we eventually got our food at 7.50 and were expected to leave our table for 8.30. It was so noisy, it was impossible to have a conversation and extremely hot with no air filtering around the room. It was a very unpleasant experience, one we will not be repeating.

My husband and I tried this restaurant for the first time last night. We booked a table for 7 pm, waited 50 minutes to be served our main course, thank goodness for the poppadom we each had to pass the time. The restaurant was jam packed full, it’s small and way too cosy, you can hear every conversation, except your own, it’s so loud, not the atmosphere for a a special evening as a couple. We were each sat on the corner of a very small table, because there was no room to sit opposite each other, every time someone passed they banged into my chair, it was just dreadful. I ordered a chicken Kuriah, a dish I have eaten in Indian restaurants all over the world but never like this one. It was basically chicken tikka, which I do not like, with red paste over the top. It looked about as appetising as it tasted. We had high hopes of this restaurant but sadly we did not enjoy anything about it, and will not be going back. There are much nicer Indian restaurants in Lincoln.

Best curry I’ve ever had. I had the korma and my boyfriend had the chefs special tikka masala and we were both blown away. Incredible food. Amazing flavours. Naan was great and was a nice addition to the curry. Great atmosphere and great service, food portions are also great size we ate enough to fill us there and then we took some home too and had enough for another meal the next day. Wonderful location , wonderful food and wonderful service. We look forward to visiting again soon !!

Reviews looked good, so I thought I would give this restaurant a go. The table booking process was easy. The food was very good indeed. In particular, my vindaloo was very spicy and tasted freshly made. Also the naan breads were great. The staff were very good and professional. Booking again for January. Loved it.

Had at least eight meals here, and they have always been exquisitely cooked, exquisitely tasty, and very nicely served. Simply great quality every single time I go here, whether it’s part of a couple or with a large group. Staff are always very friendly, intentive and not too intrusive into your meal. Cannot fault this Restaurant, please keep up the high standards and also the reasonable prices.

Food is lovely, staff are polite . Watch your bill !! Several times that we have been and have been overcharged by a minimum of £5.00. This is usually on the poppadoms and dips . Also over charged on a main . Now that's evertime we go . So if they overcharge on each table ....that is a significant amount over a week. Not good . I'd like to think it's a mistake but not sure it is ..

A small but fantastic Indian restaurant. I’ve been coming for years now; however, this was the first visit this year, and it’s not lost its touch. I’m booking again for next month!

Very nice. Lovely decor, friendly service. Extremely busy but we were served quickly. Tables are for a two hour window. Enjoyed our meal very much. Starters were very generous. We will go again soon. Be aware you can only access the dining area up a narrow flight of steep steps.

We visit Lincoln a couple of times a year, and have been here 4 times now. The first time was impressive and it has got even better every time since. Beautiful food with exquisite flavours. We'll be back next spring. For sure.

Wanted to check out this award winning restaurant. But was disappointed. Ordered cheese naan, gandhi special and lamb achari. All 3 cheese naan were burnt, lamb pieces were so tough instead of "tender" as described in their menu, and the gandhi special was really not nice. Maybe made the wrong choices, but still should not be getting burnt naans!

A huge thank you to all the staff and management for such a beautiful meal in a lovely restaurant this evening. No wonder this place is constantly busy, both dining in and take away. We were very fortunate to bag the 5pm opening slot and the restaurant was very quickly full to capacity. There was a bit of a wait for the food to come out but it was most definitely worth the wait!! Outstanding food, excellent, friendly service and worth every penny paid. A lovely way to end our mini break to Lincoln. Congratulations to everyone at Castle View for having such a fantastic restaurant!

Literally the best Indian I’ve ever had whatever the chefs doing in that kitchen it can only be compared to the works of renaissance painters or just plain magic 10/10

Best Indian I have ever tasted, good prices and service was brilliant.

Fantastic food - especially dry chicken Shaslick but ask for spicier or diff curry sauce like tikka masala on the side as standard sauce it came with was very bland. Saag paneer was also very good, as was garlic chilli chicken dish. Would highly recommend booking as very popular and Small place.

Draft beer was warm, soon replaced by bottled beer. That aside, no xe place with nice food

This was honestly the best Indian meal we have ever had. Every dish was perfectly cooked and not swimming in oil like some Indian restaurants. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the choice of dishes amazing. Altogether outstanding

This is the 2nd time we ordered food from here, its absolutely tasteless ! I understand Lincoln is a white area and the restaurant gets away with not adding much spice to it but being a Asian honestly this is the worst, it's nothing like indian, Pakistan or bengali food, has NO flavour or spice, needs a lot of improvements, this restaurant deserves a 1 star.

Having visited Lincoln over the last 4 years we have tried to book this restaurant, finally got to taste the fabulous food here after booking 4 weeks in advance. It did not disappoint excellent food and service cannot fault anything.

I actually hate this place because I spend all my money here. By far the best Indian restaurant I have had in the UK. Even the takeaway is amazing. Very friendly staff. I love this place.

Ordered a takeaway by phone for collection and was told it would be about an hour no problems it's worth the wait. On arriving, I paid for my takeaway and was told it will be about 15 minutes. 50 minutes later I was still waiting for the meal, I understand it was busy, but to have to wait another 50 mins is absolutely ridiculous, it seemed that they didn't start to cook our food until it had been paid for. Food was as normal very good but the time we had to wait was ridiculous.

Amazing food! We're local and had heard Castle View being raved about by friends, that it was a very small restaurant but incredible food. Now we know what the hype was all about. Will definitely be returning again.

This is an odd one for me. I don't like Indian food, but Castle View have helped me change my mind. My whole party loved their dishes, even picky old me! Generous portions, reasonable prices and a good time all round. Thank you so much, I'm sure we will see you soon 😊

The food is absolutely amazing! It was my first time eating there this week and it was the best Indian I've ever had! The service was a little odd, took us a while to get the tap water we asked for and they kept asking if we wanted poppadoms with the water. But everything else was superb

It's a lovely atmosphere with fantastic food, wine, and beer. Unfortunately, they do not do coffee to follow!! However, it's a real consideration for a good Indian meal

Atmosphere slightly spoilt by a gobby "reviewer" complaining that he couldn't get a fried egg! Handled well by the serving team, and amused me. Not the restaurant's fault, just someone having an inflaited view of their opinion. My opinion: put what you like, as long as I can book a table.

Food and service is always great. There was a really loud lady with a voice that made you jump on the next table. Even people on her table looked uncomfortable! I suppose you can't help who you are sat near! Loud people please read the room it's not always about you!

Such a lovely restaurant, Waiting area is comfy and decor is very nice. When you get up into the eating area you get your menus etc.. and there is a very wide range of options available to eat. I got The Chicken Tikka Masala with White Rice and Popadoms and it was lovely! I came with other family members for a birthday and enjoyed it highly. Would recommend and definitely come again!

Always wanted to try this place but could never get in food is the best around good portions not your usual slop you get from some others only thing I would say is young waitresses were very hard work to get there attention for ordering but place was fab
