Akash in Lincoln

This is not to be missed if your in the area. I often visit friends in Waddington and this Restaurant is always our destination for food. Small and friendly , the food is always on point lots of tasty dishes . You wont be disappointed

Very greasy meal. I know curry can be greasy but the jalfrezi I had was swimming in oil and the chips had soaked the bag so much that when I picked it up the chips fell through the bag. The free can of Pepsi max was a nice gesture though would have been better if it was cold. Decent portion size

Superb meal and service. Lovely staff especially waitress who was so helpful and kind. Nothing too much trouble. Drinks very reasonably priced - decent bottle of house wine only £8 - very good value. Overall food delicious, and very reasonable price. Thank you x

Excellent all round! New to the area, thought we would give it a try and had a great meal. Very fragrant and authentic! Cooked beautifully, and loved the traditional old feel to the place, with music to match. Will definitely return!

The food is Amazing with good portion sizes, the staff are very pleasant and it is reasonably priced with plenty to choose from.

Booked here for a meal with friends and enjoyed a really great meal. The service was very good and the food excellent especially enjoyed the lamb korma. Everything served hot as should be a a salad on the side was crisp and fresh.

As always the food is very good cannot fault that. More concerning is the massive price increase since our last visit. People really are jumping all over this cost of living going up. Normal order will cost 18.90 went in yesterday its now 27.60 so thats pretty much a 33% increase in cost. Sorry this is just too much. A curry dish has gone up by 3 pounds a dish used to be reasonable price. However good your food is it doesn't warrant a near 33 % increase in cost for the same take away. You've lost yourself a customer 👍

Brilliant! We have lived in the village for a while and had our first visit this week. There is so much choice and everything was cooked to perfection. We were very impressed with the value for money! We’re already looking forward to returning soon.

Great value for money and beautiful food. Wide variety on menu and all delicious. Nice as a takeaway but much nicer when sat in with friendly staff.

Visited Akash this evening with a friend and so glad we did. The sort of hidden gem that you dream of finding. Having driven through Navenby on numerous occasions during the day and spotting the restaurant thinking we will have to try the food there we finely decided to go. We booked a table and on arrival we where warmly greeted by the front of house person. Who showed us to our table and as soon as we were seated the drinks order taken by a very friendly waitress. Good selection of dishes to choose from on the menu but I went for the chicken Dopiaza and my friend went for the prawn phall. Both dishes had plenty of chicken and prawns. I especially enjoyed my dopiaza. My friend said the phall was a bit tame but after dipping a bit of my naan bread in and trying just the sauce I begged to differ on that opinion Very enjoyable evening with excellent food and service and a bill of under £35 will defiantly be returning soon. .

Good food and quick service. Use this place for takeaways so far, but great service, so sure eating in would be the same.

I found out about Akash from a friend; as a fan of Indian / Bangladeshi food I thought I would give it a try. The premises look very small from the outside, but are quite TARDIS like, and can seat a considerable amount of customers. The staff were welcoming, helpful and polite and the food was excellent as well. I am still ordering take-aways from Akash, and the standard has always been right up there. I look forward to be able to go for another "sit down" meal there in the near future.

Well what can I say other thanwe were totally bowled over by the quality and quantity of our take away meal we purchased on the 14th November. We are very experienced Indian type food consumers and have ventured both far and wide buying, mostly take away meals and I have to say that the size of the portions as well as their amazing quality has placed the Akash right at the very top of our must go here again establishments. As others have said the main dishes are a tad oily, however as the depth of flavours were so pleasing the slight oiliness was soon forgotten.

Had a meal here recently and thought the food was absolutely fine. A pretty standard curry which was tasty and plentiful. Friendly staff, good service and very good value for money. Would recommend if you fancy a average-good curry.

Firstly the waitress did not know the menu and was unhelpful. When the food arrived it was swamped in oil and grey in colour. Honestly the worst curry I’ve ever had and couldn’t eat it. When I told who I assumed was the manager, He just said “oh, oh yes I can see. I’m sorry”. He didn’t offer to remove it from the bill or offer a new one. The food was so bland and greasy, please save your money! Very disappointed!

Faultless - well done all superb food!! Every dish was excellent executed, full of flavour but not too much, extremely fresh - I would say the best I have had since we found Akash in 2016!! THANK YOU

First visit for a takeaway for 3 persons. Were told food would be ready to be picked up in one and a half hours but it wasn’t. We had to wait outside the restaurant 45 minutes with quite a few other customers for our meals. Got a can of cola as a good will gesture for the inconvenience of waiting so long.Agree with other reviews about the food being oily and tasteless as was my Rogan Josh. Although there was a lot of tender chicken in the dishes and the Pilau rice was good. The other House Special dishes were better. The Peshwari Naan was disappointing. Small, flat, floppy. Tasted like a plain Naan. Would give it another try and hope the food and service improves.

Had another good take out from Akash in Navenby. Always enjoy it and think it's as good as you get. Tonight had lamb rezela which is lovely and hot without blowing the waffle valve and beautifully tender lamb. Thanks to staff at Akash for keeping going through lockdown.

As we live in the village we are fortunate that we can make use of the Akash on a regular basis - and we do. Great food, good beer, excellent service. I am never dissapointed with it. Especially at the moment in the midst of the 'Great Lockdown'. They have continued with a Take Away only service and it has been a life line for the village. Thank you. Long may you continue!

Great food and service, best Indian food in Lincs. Good value; 4 mains, rice, naan, popadoms and beers less than £80 we’ll worth a trip.

An unexpectedly good Indian meal! Food perhaps a little oily, but very tasty and spicy. Very attentive staff and good value.

Had a takeaway from here last night, one of several over the past few years and it is always of a very good standard, full of flavour, tastes fresh, not too heavy and good portions. Good value too.

Recommended by a friend and it lived up to the hype. Really tasty food, and spicy. We both loved it!

Wide choice of dishes to suit all tastes. Very reasonable prices. Service was prompt without feeling rushed. Would recommend without hesitation.

We had family with us so we booked here as they have a wide choice. We went for the Banquet meal and this was a great choice. Every one had something they enjoyed for each course and we had really good service at a reasonable price. Will go again.

A lovely, small restaurant that was reassuringly busy for a Saturday night. But even worth that the staff were attentive, food was in good time and you can't argue with £50 for 2x starters 2x mains, breads and a bottle of wine to share. Would certainly recommend but book in advance and ask to be seated in the back. Up front and you're next to the takeaway customers of which there were a lot!

Just been out for a lovely meal. Asked for a Pathia but not too hot. They prepared me a medium strength very tasty curry. Will definitely be back as every part of the meal was lovely. Service very good and attentive.

Cuatro de nosotros fuimos al Akash para cenar. El restaurante no estaba muy ocupado con los comensales, pero estaba haciendo un intercambio constante para llevar. Cada uno de nosotros tenía un plato diferente y todos eran sabrosos y tiernos, incluido el plato de cordero. El servicio era educado y eficiente. La única razón por la que no le he dado al restaurante 5 estrellas es porque hay un par de restaurantes asiáticos en la cercana Newark que creo que tienen la ventaja. Sin embargo, definitivamente me gustaría visitar de nuevo. Los precios son muy razonables.

Vivo localmente, así que uso mucho esta comida para llevar. La calidad es siempre muy buena y el personal es amable.

Hemos visitado Akash antes, pero no por un tiempo. Tomamos a nuestro hijo y su esposa que aman la comida india, pero son bastante críticos. Sin embargo, amaban a Akash. Fuimos recibidos calurosamente y las bebidas llegaron rápidamente. Popadums se sirvieron con 3 chutneys, y el resto de la comida llegó con apenas una espera, pero para ser justos, no estaban ocupados, ya que era a mediados de semana y temprano. Todos disfrutamos de la comida, el cordero era extremadamente tierno. El personal fue atento y no podría haber sido mejor. No hubo música de fondo irritante, una noche tranquila y agradable. Seguramente volveremos.

Como esta era la primera vez que visitábamos este restaurante, nos tomamos nuestro tiempo revisando el menú, pero el personal mantuvo las bebidas con abundantes popadoms, que son cálidos y frescos elijo un gambón al ajillo con curry de arroz con hongos y tengo que decir que fue cargas increíbles de langostinos y un sabor muy agradable al curry con la cantidad perfecta de especias y el precio era muy razonable en comparación con otros indios, esta es una pequeña joya escondida de una casa de curry que bien vale la pena el viaje ??????? ???

Dropped in for an impromptu meal from a word of mouth recommendation and delighted with both the food and the service. Fabulous little place. Good traditional menu with some excellent quality meat too.

The freshest tasting curry I've ever had, the spice didn't override the flavour of the ingredients. Good value for money too. Great selection of dishes.

Used Akash since it first opened. Usually very good food at a good price. Tonight my lamb Naga was superb. Just the right amount of "HOT! " Lamb fell apart. 👍

Great naan breads but very average food, mine was supposed to have some heat but didn’t and was a bit greasy. Bottled beers only but not a rip off prices. Overall a nice pleasant meal but wouldn’t race back.

We have been visiting Akash restaurant for the last few years and always have really good food and service.

I’d not visited Akash before, but the reviews looked generally good, sadly tonight, I couldn’t agree with most of the reviewers. A group of 7 of my colleagues chose to eat here and pre-booked a table. We arrived at 1930 and were offered drinks fairly quickly. Not long afterwards, we were asked to order out starters. We all opted for popadoms and pickles. These too, arrived fairly promptly and were tasty enough. We were then asked to order our mains, which we did and then sat and waited. Then we waited some more. Conversation eventually turned to the subject of waiting for food. The table of six next to us had also clearly been waiting for a long time too.

Después de numerosos excelentes comidas desde aquí pedimos una comida esperaba el mismo. Desgraciadamente, la comida sabía a pollo en tomate italiano, que me dijeron era lo tikka masala. No había sabor curry. El pan Naan fue quemada y la comida de mi marido también...

Que visite al menos dos veces por semana, a veces más. La comida es fantástica y tan buena relación calidad-precio. Increíble

Vamos a Akash y conseguir llevar a menudo, y no nos podemos quejar. Degustación de comida india más auténtica, no las salsas de colores brillantes de otros restaurantes. Muy amable, bien merece una visita! No es un restaurante indio/llevar mejor en Lincoln.

Pensamos en probar el restaurante indio en Navenby nuevo ahora que se ha ampliado. Probamos el año pasado - todavía no interesado en la cantidad de petróleo que está presente en algunos de los platos. Un poco desagradable estos días ya que son más conscientes de los excesos! De lo contrario la comida aceptable, servicio y buena - ambiente acogedor. Puede probar el año que viene.

Este restaurante ha sido ampliado. Hay muchos más mesas y como otro añade es un poco luminoso allí (un regulador switch quizás? ). Buena comida, nos encanta, van a menudo. cervezas indias y si pides tienen cerveza marrón inglesa en botellas. El personal es muy amable. Pruébalo

Eaten here a few times. It was a tiny restaurant with a big take out business but they have renovated and added a lot of new tables in an extension. It's good quality Indian food at reasonable prices with friendly (if a bit slow) service. The new section is a bit brightly lit and could do with a dimmer switch! All in all this is the best Indian we have found in this area.

This is a small but pleasant restaurant situated in Navenby. We were welcomed by the friendly host,and showed to our table. There are the usual dishes plus a good choice of specials including vegetarian dishes. A good selection of Indian beers and wines are also available. All the dishes chosen were well prepared and tasty. Just one small criticism, a little too much oil seemed to be present, this did not affect the flavours but would look better on the plate.

Thissmall Indian restaurant and take-away has some very good food and is spotlessly clean. The set meals are very limited only vegetarian for 2, or curry for 4, and your have to be 6 people or more to get a good mixture.There is wide choice of Al-la -cart, but this costs more. Saying that they are willing to change the odd dish for those wanting the set meals for 2 or 4 people. The food is very good indeed with excellent popadoms and pickle. I agree the atmosphere is not as good as it could be but we found this was mostly down to the younger members of staff who seemed to be grudging in their service and never smiled. Very reasonably priced and would go again.
