Everest Express Restaurant in Lincoln

If you're in Lincoln and fancy a nice curry, look no further. Food was beautiful, tasty and very good value. The lamb gurkhali was superb. The service was spot on and the people working there could not have been more attentive. Would definitely recommend and would not hesitate to return.

Food was really good here. We had 3 curry’s and they all tasted very different and really good. Service was great. Can definitely recommend the Paneer and the lamb in my Danshak melted in your mouth!

Easily the best Indian I have ever had

The first visit was very excellent, from the welcome to taking the order and presenting it. The order was butter chicken, gulabi chicken, and garlic bread, and the food was prepared upon request. I thank them for their warm reception.

Food was amazing, the sheek kebab was heavenly and presented so nicely. Service was second to none. Well worth a visit when in Lincoln.

Wow just Wow, last minute decision 6.30pm Saturday 14th we decided we wanted a Indian. Fully booked which was understandable. As we left one of the staff ran after us and said they could fit us in 7.15pm. So I just wanted to say thank you so much, the food the service was 100% amazing. We will be returning very soon. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Excellent food, good vegetarian options, staff are friendly and helpful, The aromatic spices are a delight and not too hot if you don't like a lot of chillies. I will definitely go again. We found the restaurant while passing through Lincoln going up the High Street and managed to get a table at short notice, great experience.

Wow. Really good, tasty food and friendly service. We stumbled on the restaurant on a wander round the town, its near the bottom of the steep hill so be warned if you are staying at the top of town as you will stuff yourselves. Great beers too and super friendly family run.

Six friends out for dinner, booked here on recommendations from others and so glad we did, as it’s become an overnight favourite. The food was amazing, I asked for some tweaks to my meal which were accommodated with grace and precision. The food was delicious and the whole party cleared their plates. The staff were attentive & intuitive, and very polite & respectful. I cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you .

Was a great place that serves the most wonderful curry. We had chicken tika masala. The nicest one we've had for a long while. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Would recommend anyone to go there.

Called on the off chance they could fit us in and they did. The staff were lovely and very attentive. We had pompadoms and chutneys. Which were delicious. Then chicken tika masala. I know not very adventurous but I've got to say it was the nicest curry I've had for years. We all loved it. Then hot towels after to freshen up. And it was nice to see they didn't automatically put a service charge on. But they earned one definitely. Would recommend anyone to go there.

Just back from a fabulous meal for our 39th wedding anniversary at this excellent restaurant. The staff could not be more helpful and likewise the food could not have been nicer. We shared a bottle of the excellent house red, poppadoms, onion bhajis and the speciality chicken shashlik and mushroom rice, which they were happy to let us do after we explained we could never finish two portions. This was proven in our ‘doggy bag’ with more than half our main meal to take away. It’ll make lovely sandwiches tomorrow. We can’t recommend enough, as we were surrounded by customers speaking highly about how lovely their meals were.

The food was so clean. I am an absolute Indian food addict and really struggle to find a good source of Asian food in Lincolnshire. We tried our look late on when the restaurant was closing but they welcomed us in with no quibble. The food was beautiful and nothing was too much trouble. A different taste from your normal Indian cuisine but very fresh and clean. Great staff!!!

We enjoyed a superb vegan/plant-based meal at this stylish restaurant. From a good selection of veggie options we had the bhuna and Nepalese style mixed vegetables, relishing every mouthful of aromatic, perfectly cooked vegetables in full flavoured sauces with the garlic, herbs and spices shining through. The staff were professional, courteous and friendly, delivering a quality service throughout the meal. We particularly liked the way the meal was served in a rustic bowl, together with the rice.

We ordered mixed byriani and cheese naan it was lovely and will definitely order again

Amazing food and incredibly friendly service.

Randomly walked past one evening and decided to go back for a meal the following day. I'm very glad we did. They pride themselves in using their local Nepalese knowledge. This was my first biryani with the sauce cooked in (like risotto). It was excellent. Portion sizes spot on for us, which meant we couldn't sample the deserts.

Best curry I have had in Lincoln during my long stay so far. The waitstaff is kind and helpful. There is a mix of Nepalese and Indian curries. I'm sure all are delicious and I am excited to go back and try more. The spice levels are very balanced and there is a geat variety on the menu. Food 5 Service 5 Atmosphere 5

Me and my friend were looking for the best restaurant to get some good Indian and spicy food and ended up at Himalayan curry. Tbh, the food was awesome, from the starters to main dishes, everything was so tasty and fingerlickin goood. The manager Shalaka was very customer friendly and did a quite exceptional service. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone who's looking for good food, good service and a good ambience to chill out. The only drawback I felt was they'd have added much more options in the drinks menu.

Visiting the area with family for Easter so popped in to pick up some take away. Nice ambience, very helpful and easy going staff and seriously good food……next time we visit we will dine in to have some more time for gaph-saph . Dherai dhanyabad.

Step Hill may not be Everest, but the restaurant is perfectly located. Excellent food deserves 5 stars from me, but ... the maître d' who greets you through the window when you come back from a two-hour concert at the Watry Cathedral has 3 Michelin stars.

The lady who was working in the restaurant when I went by was quite helpful in accommodating my vegan requirement. Rather than cream in the korma, they used coconut milk when requested. It turned out to be the most delicious Indian takeaway I’ve tried. Perfect last meal in Lincoln after a week there noticing it across from my airbnb . Thank you

Very friendly staff. We ordered takeout. Had high expectations as the smell coming from the kitchen was amazing. Compared to some others we’ve tried in the area definitely one of the better restaurants for South Asian food.

Great place for Nepalese/South Asian food, personally got the Momos and Lasun Kukura Khursani (picture shown), both were great. Went with a group of 12 and staff were attentive and welcoming.

Hoped this venue would be as good as its predecessor but unfortunately not. Lighting is clinical resulting in no atmosphere & the food was not the best, bland and suspect chicken wasn’t the best. On a positive note staff were attentive & friendly. Wouldn’t recommend & we wont be returning soon.

Absolutely delicious food - you can really taste every ingredient - unlike other Indian restaurants where all the curries are made from the same base- here each dish is built from scratch, and the proof is in the taste. I have eaten in virtually every Indian restaurant in Lincoln and Everest Xpress is definitely the best!

Walking past and made the decision to pop in for dinner . Best idea I have had all day ! Friendly , welcoming staff . Great atmosphere . The food was wonderful and no pressure to eat up and go . I would highly recommend visiting this hidden gem of a restaurant !

I can honestly say the meal was the best Nepalese or any Asian food I've ever tasted. I chose a Katmandu dish. Divine! The service was engaging and very efficient so our group's meals all arrived together and hot.

I have used the takeaway but had not yet visited the restaurant. It was lovely. Good service, delicious food in modern surroundings. As far as I know, they still do takeaways from the restaurant but they keep the two parts of the business separate. I was with a group of friends and everyone enjoyed their meals although the desserts were not the best part. My only quibble is that the vegetarian dishes in the main menu are not very interesting. I ordered two side dishes instead.

A fairly basic restaurant inside, however, food and service were excellent!

We have been to Everest Express ever since it first opened on the High street over 12 years ago and have recommended its quality food to family and friends ever since. Sadly ever since they moved premises the service, portion sizes have all gone downhill and yet the cost has risen dramatically. We ordered our usual curry and rice dishes with naans with the order totalling over £40 which is far more than a Chinese of the same quality food (actually I’d even say better from the Red Lantern on Monks road) which for the 3 of us the other day cost £28 including delivery. Yet the rice, which previously would have been full to the brim and easily fed 2 people, came today pitifully empty and barely fed one of us. The curry also had less meat than usual and the naans have gotten smaller. I can’t help the feeling you now think you are worth far more than you are because of the past reputation the company has built but have sacrificed the service that made Everest so great. Admittedly the food is still very good but I refuse to pay the earth for a tiny morsel of food when there are actually still other very good Indian takeaways in Lincoln that overall offer a better package. Will not be eating here again in a hurry.

Lovely food, value for money Great staff

After a month here for work... we don't really want to eat in restaurants anymore... everything is the same it seems, but Everest Express is the one where I could eat every night. Their food comes straight from heaven! 🙏 The service is impeccable. The waiters recognize us after 2 visits and they treat us like kings! The atmosphere...wow, even if it's a small dining room, the Indian music, the cleanliness of the place will definitely seduce you! My favorite restaurant! Comforting and warm! Go for it, you won't regret it! I promise! 👌☺️

Food is awesome but staff is very rude and their behavior with customers is very bed . Staff even don't know how to talk with the customer and if you ask them about anything they become angry and start behave badly with customers.

What a great find. Authentic Nepalese dishes on the menu with regular favourites too. Pricing was very good considering the central location. Small and cosy atmosphere with first class service from staff. Onion bhajis were outstanding. Definitely going back.

Both our dishes were divine! Chicken Tikka Masala and the Hariyali chicken were super tasty along with the pilau rice. Our hosts very polite and efficient, lovely to talk to. Highly recommended and great value.

A return visit to this fabulous restaurant, which always accommodates our larger numbers with ease. The food was delicious but I must mention the outstanding service from the waitress who looked after us all evening. Not only was she efficient, but she was polite and exuded such a positive and cheerful persona that it made the meal a particularly memorable experience.

Dissapointed. Ordered 2 portions of shish kebabs for starters which tasted like rubber and just come out of the microwave. Then for the main ordered a Lamb Achari which turned out to be beef and cold. The wife's chicken rogan josh tasted like something out of a jar and was tasteless and also cold. I am a massive curry fan and this was one of the worst I have experienced. Apart from the bottle of king cobra at a tenner a bottle! and white wine plus the nice service, the food was terrible and nothing near authentic as advertised.And as you can see I have received a reply from the owner saying that they do not use beef?Well it definitely was not lamb and that they do not have achari on the menu?Which I ordered off the menu.And then says check that I was in the correct restaurant?? Believe you me??I was in the correct restaurant and the food served was as I described it? TERRIBLE..

Very nice place. Tasty food with decent portions, modern decor, friendly helpful service. Well worth a visit. Worth making a reservation if you want a table downstairs.

First rate. We both agreed probably the best Indian Nepalese food ever. The Katmandu chicken marsala was divine, the tarka dahl precisely cooked with herbs, the matta paneer fresh and the peshwari naan perfect. My friend had amazing mushroom rice and tandoori chicken. Go. Compliment their chef. They deserve to do well. Reasonably priced too. But most of all, the food is faultless.

Food was very good with some unusual dishes reflecting the Nepalese origins of the place. portion size was generous, and very tasty Cost wise pretty average for a sit down Indian Service was quick without us feeling rushed

Great food and service. We were a party of 5 and had to book a table the day before. It was a late evening booking and the atmosphere was wonderful. The naan bread was absolutely delicious and the highlight of the evening. They didn't have dessert which was actually alright. I've never fancied them in places like these as it always feels like an afterthought! There's a gelato place opposite which would have been brilliant but it was sadly already closed by 7pm. We did suggest they collaborate and work together 😂 Parking was readily available at Flaxengate Car Park which is just a few minutes walk away. It also accepts contactless and the PayByPhone app.

It was our first time in this restaurant and certainly won’t be the last. Service was excellent, nice cosy setting, and food was amazing. I had a different dish, Nepal chicken which had a mango flavoured curry and was delicious. So was the mountain chicken and tikka masala. The Naan bread was beautiful. Price was great too. Highly recommended 👏🏼

I ordered food for delivery yesterday, the order was wrong and one of the main dishes was missing, which Everest Express delivered about 25 mins later, so the rest of my food was cold. The food didn’t taste very good, and I’ve had a really bad stomach since eating the food. To add insult to injury, they are way to expensive ☹️

Have really enjoyed Everest in the past but this curry was disgusting. Dhanssk had half cooked chickpeas (not sure what they were doing in there) and sauce was inedible with lamb clearly not cooked in the sauce. Have lived in Bradford and Birmingham and over 25yrs of curties. Naan bread clearly cooked a long time ago and left in parcel so was like cardboard and cold. Was testing this out to take friends but will never subject them to this. Over £50 spent on meal for two that was inedible. Oh, and 15 minutes later than maximum delivery time. Awful.

Managed to fit us in on a busy Saturday night without a booking. Food and service were excellent, in particular enjoyed the momos.

Loved it. Food was incredible, a real treat compared to usual indian places. Atmosphere inside not exactly luxury but very clean, very nice. Service a bit random, don't think our guy spoke too much English so one or two bits came wrong but soon rectified and very friendly in doing so. Will be visiting here again very soon.

Fantastic food full of flavour and full of spice, great balance and taste sensation. All Fresh and tasty. Service was Excellent from start to finish. We travelled over sixty miles from near Manchester for this taste Sensation and it did not let us down. Stunning presentation. All courses were first class. Our youngest daughter recommended this restaurant and wow was she right. Some of the best Indian/Asian food we've ever had. The popadoms and. pickle tray lead us into fabulous mains and onion bhajis and garlic naan we've ever had. Superb staff and service a real plus and all very reasonably priced. The house red was also very good. Happy to strongly recommend!

Having regularly eaten at a Gurkha Restaurant where we live, looked forward to eating here on our weekend break in Lincoln. It's a great location on the popular Steep Hill in Lincoln, but quite small and basically furnished. Ordered our usual food we have when back home and it was okay, just nothing special and quite pricy for what it was and the surroundings.

I just love this place. Used to get the takeaways and so happy they now have a sit in restaurant. The meat is always tender and tasty.

Had a takeaway tonight,I don't think it's the same owners the food was cold not packaged like it use to be with sealed tops, tandoori lamb chops tasted totally different to how I have always had before , basically nothing tasted the same as past takeaways and I have had many meals from here, definitely gone down in my ratings ☹️

It's good to try new dishes and there were plenty on this menu. Both my wife and I tried dishes we hadn't had before which were really good. Service was friendly and food arrived in good time. If we had wanted our favourite Indian dishes they were available too. Price was about what we expected and will definitely use again.

Was visiting Lincoln with work. Went to the restaurant with colleagues and had a really nice meal. Good selection of Nepalese dishes. Staff are friendly and provide good information on dishes. Returned a few nights later it was that good.

We visited with some friends. We didnt book but there wasnt any problem in getting us in. We deliberately tried Nepalese food rather than the standard Indian restaurant food on offer and we werent disappointed. we both had momo's for starters and I had chicken gurkhali and my wife had lamb hariyali. It was excellent. our friends are vegetarian and their options were equally as nice. We canat wait to go back!!
