Hot Masala in Lincoln

I ordered food through delivero,please dont order from this restaurant because you never going to get your food at the first place,they accept orders and then make you wait for 4 hours and then just mark the order as complete, please save your money guys.

During taken food after washing hand with soap....the color which they add in food is not going out of my hand.... using lot of colors to process food.

Worst food I've ever eaten on takeaway.. they literally chucked grated cheese on some kind of bread that was supposed to be cheesy garlic bread. Chicken in main meal was extremely dry. Poppadoms were chewing. Over all awful. Genuinely surprised a takeaway can serve such a bad standard of food. Not including being very late on delivery in the first place

Poor service, delivery and dire food now. Last time I’ll be ordering from this dive. Went an hour past original delivery time and would not refund. Proper rip off merchants.

I have been using this place for a few years, unfortunately my recent experience was not what I expected, curry had no substance, way to runny, and as for the flavour, it was way too hot, even for me, I normally like jalfrezi, I’m sorry to say that of the meals ordered, only one of them was edible, it was a korma, again runny and yellow and looked really yuck. I am sorry to say this was my last time I will visit.

Absolutely inedible and disgusting. We’ve been using Hot Masala for a number of years, always good. We ordered as usual on the website, to collect, but when we arrived it has turned into a chip shop! I actually walked in, then turned around and walked out, thinking I’d somehow walked into the wrong door. But no…. 3 young kids on the counter, swigging from drink cans and eating chips, polite but certainly not the clean, professional and polite greeting we’ve been used to! The food though… OMG, a korma for a very elderly family member looked like the contents of a newborns first nappy, absolutely no meat on show either. The lamb biryani which I always have (I love it too much to choose something else) was so hot, I just couldn’t eat more than a few bites, the lamb was full of fat and gristle, and the curry that partners it was so hot I didn’t even take it out the tub. The creamy jalfrezi was again, so hot it was inedible. We will never go back there again, such a shame as it used to be so good.

We have been coming here for year and have always loved this place, but tonight ll be the last time I will ever set foot in the place. What has happened to the kitchen and the manners of the owners ? Shocking service and the food was shocking, no meat in any of the dishes, consistency of what comes out the other end after a heavy night on the booze, shocking waste of time and money the owners should be ashamed at the s*** show that this place has become

Hi, I am a pretty regular customer, 20 orders. I'm sorry to say today was not a good experience. I ordered a Chicken South Indian Garlic Chilli, a Sag paneer and a garlic naan. The paneer had little spinach and was mostly gravy with no taste of garlic, cumin or other spices. 4 pieces of cheese only. The naan was just about cooked but had extremely little green garlic leaves. Slightly better than dough. The Chicken South Indian Garlic Chilli had chunks of chicken rather than the slices which were in the last dishes. It was basically a tomato based dish with no Cassia bark, bay leaves and the spice heat was nowhere to be found until I bit into the green chillies. I understand that there is a new chef appointed. However, I will not be ordering again and will try and find a suitable takeaway to suite my taste. Very sad............................................

If I could give Zero or even minus stars I would! The tikka masalla is clearly not made in the traditional way and I suspect they buy in sauces from East at home and even purchase the paste packets because its awfully like the ones I purchase when being lazy. Cold food sub standard cheap knock off curry. Please avoid and source a good Indian takeaway because you'll only regret ordering from here.

Without being disrespectful i've just encountered the worst curry i've ever tried to eat. Not authentic to say the least. Runny, tasteless and more to the point what was the bread submerged in a gallon of Castrol for. Very disappointing......ASDA JAR SAUCE 5* compared to this excuse However justeat delivery was brilliant very polite and prompt. I want a refund

I am giving a single star because that's the worst I could. Ordered an hour and half ago and am still waiting. What is the whole point of cloud kitchen. Anyways, better you learn from this. Beware customers

Best Indian takeaway in Lincoln

Never again, We have placed an order on just eat, the curry’s where like soup, rice was weird Coloured and tasted so much of clove oil we have had a better Indian ready meal. That’s how bad it was. Partner is unwell and can’t keep off the toilet. This place needs environmental health in and shutting down. It used to be alright years ago I think it’s been taken over I don’t know how they can call them selfs an Indian takeway. Absolutely shocking and rude people

Such a shame that we won't be using this takeaway again because actually the food is good. Just really fed up with how long it takes to be delivered. Our last few orders have taken hours to arrive. Even ordered online at 430pm and chose 6pm delivery time - it still didn't arrive until 7pm. Previous orders have always arrived well over the expected time of arrival. Man on phone is always very dismissive and blames delivery staff. Never any apology or offer of discount etc.

Popped in and asked for a £6:50 pizza apparently there is a 10% increase of prices … so suddenly it becomes £8:50 ???? I am sure it should only be an extra 65p increase . When challenged they became all confused .

I have just received the worst Indian cuisine I have ever paid for. One hour and 20 minutes for delivery. Food was cold when arrived. Potatoes not even cooked. All chicken was well over cooked and dry. No taste to anything. Poppadoms soggy. Naan bread dry. Chips well under cooked. Onion bhagi rock hard. Person on the phone was rude after I made a complaint. I am so disappointed after spending £32.58

Honestly worst ever!!!!! Do not order from here said it will be 30/40 waited 2 and half hours! On the app said been delivered however it hasn’t, rang them up and asked what’s going on they said I needed to update the app!! Which wasn’t true. What a joke.

Literally will never order from here again!! The main reason I ordered was to get food quick and they had promised within 45 minutes on Just-Eat. I am still waiting now and it’s been 2 hours. It’s too late to order from somewhere else. If they don’t arrive soon it looks like I’ll be going to bed hungry!

Ordered from Hot Masala last night via Uber eats. We’ve ordered from here several times in the past. Last night, was by far our worst experience. We ordered the set menu for 2, which we always have done before and added the meals requested in the special instructions, again as we always have done before. Standard meals requested, korma and a bhuna (nothing out of the ordinary). Instead they ignored our requests, made no attempt to let us know they wouldn’t allow our requests, and sent completely different meals. When calling to explain we’d received the incorrect meals, the man on the phone was extremely rude and even hung up on me twice!! He said there were ‘rules’ on Ubereats to say you couldn’t change the meals, which I have again looked for and this is no where to be seen. If they’d have let us know, then this would’ve been no problem. Instead we’ve had 2 meals go to waste and £20 down the drain. Will not be using these again.

Ordered online the food was so amazing, best in lincoln. The portions a extremely big, so generous. Happy to have found a reliable place

Service was decent when I called them however, the tikka masala was just oil, the korma was just coconut and the bahjis were overcooked and £3.20 for 2 bahjis is a little steep. The garlic naan tasted a little tangy. Overall best thing about the order was the poppadoms.

Food was swimming in oil. Contacted takeaway to come and collect it and refund money and was told to put it in bin and contact Uber Eats. Uber Eats offered to add £1 to our account. Shocking food and shocking service from Uber Eats. Will not be using either again....avoid .

In my opinion the best place to get a superb curry in 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐧. Ordered ours tonight for footy England V Scotland match and no disappointment as always. The delivery was less than an hour on a Friday night, the food is fresh and beautifully seasoned and so tender in the meat. They do the best Samosas, crispy and perfectly proportioned. They put all the other Indian Takeaways to shame!

Do not order from this place I spent £30.80 on food and never arrived I called and they said they gave it to someone on my street they never come to my door which a delivery should come to your door Now I'm £30 down and no food and no explanation they said they would call me back but never absolutely disgusted Will never order again from there

Fantastic Indian takeaway food delivered to your door. A wide range of dishes with a interesting infusion of herbs and spice. Ample sized portions along with friendly delivery. Would highly recommend. My favourite Indian takeaway as I have nevr had any issues with any food ordered!!

We ordered at 8:15 and didn’t get our order until 11:25. We called on 3 different occasions of which neither time did we get an apology. The first time we called after waiting about an hour they said it was ‘just about to go out’ and that he was ‘expecting us to call to be honest’. Then after another hour we called and he said again ‘yes it’s just about to go out’. When we called the third time at 11pm he said ‘he was just dropping it to us & would be there any minute’ and we then waited a further 25 mins. No apology throughout the whole thing, I understand it was NYE but the expected delivery time was 8:55 and we got it at 11:25 without any apology????? An apology would have just been nice?? Or to have actually been honest about how long it would have been on the phone. Not even like our order was big it was for 2 people. A shame because the curry was really nice even though my korma looked a strange colour.

Fast and friendly and pleasant delivery. Unfortunately this was not a reflection of what was to follow. The food was cold to start with. Although we were pleased with the extra Popadoms, the curry was not pleasing. The chicken was hard, chewy and tough. The chicken Korma was watery, had little taste (I know Korma is mild, but i didn’t realise this meant it would be mild on any flavour). The only good thing (well if you like watery curry) then the portions were big. The Saag was a mushy mess with little flavour again. Both dishes were inedible. although we did eat the chips, popadoms and bread which were okay, but i guess it’s hard to go wrong with basic things like this. Overall we were left hungry, disappointed and £20 down the pan and the only thing i gained was a upset stomach. I would avoid.

Ordered food via Uber Eats and I am unfortunately disappointed in the quality of food. I ordered a chicken saag which was just mushy with tasteless chicken chunks. We also ordered a chicken korma which tasted of coconut and nothing else. The only things that were edible were the chips and peshwari naan - everything else was unfortunately inedible and went straight into the bin.

Ive had several takeaway meals from here and have always been impressed with the deliscious hot food and great service.They do generous size portions and special offers and discount on their Special Happy Nights as per menu.I have never been disappointed with any meal Ive ordered with their takeaway service and respectful social distancing when the friendly delivery drivers deliver. I can honestly thoroughly recommend Hot Masala and will continue to order Indian food from them as the quality and taste is excellent and is a great service for home delivery .

I feel like I cheated on Everest..... tonight I decided to give a different Indian a go as Everest is undergoing renovations. Never again! Thought I couldn’t go wrong with a chicken tikka, but was mistaken. It was bitter and salty, not at all like a chicken tikka I would normally get. Only positive was the delivery driver was polite.

I tell you what, doesn't look much from the outside, but the food is absolutely incredible. Probably the best Indian food i'v ever tasted. Ordered twice now and both times have been faultless. Drivers been friendly on both occasions. Flavours to die for and you can tell it's super fresh.

Excellent food, great service - what more can one ask for? I had Kerelan Fish curry which was beautiful and perfectly spiced. The accompanying pilau riced was perfectly cooked - every grain fluffy and separate and with a wonderfully subtle flavour.

New setup and from a sample of one order it was sliced meat in juice and not the taste delight which it was formerly. Hope they find the magic again. What was missing were the distinct elements with distinct taste, the meat was dominant and a bit bland, fresh veg were sparse and undercooked. 2 years ago old management and chefs... Not only do I live close to this wee gem.... I rate their food highly and they're a nice bunch of people working there too

Ordered a takeaway from here as usually ok but this time it was by far the worst food they have produced. 1 hour 45 mins to deliver to the driver was on his way after the first hour so obviously when the food arrived it was stone cold. Re heated Indian food is not nice, it turned to a greasy mess. We have ordered from here before but never again.

This was our first experience from this new Take away and we loved it. The lamb rogan josh, was tender and tasty, and the chicken Murgh palak really delicious!.We are looking forward to our next visit.

Really tasty Indian. Ordered via Uber eats, social distancing adhered to on drop off. We’ve ordered from them twice now and both times the food has been lovely. It’s become our new regular Indian. Definitely recommend!

Just had a takeaway, via deliveroo. The food was inedible. The chicken tikka was a bright pink very runny and inedibly sweet soup with a few chunks of chicken. The King prawn biryini was an overcooked mush and strangely bitter, with five prawns. The popadoms were a bag of crumbs and the naan chewy! Deliveroo contacted the restaurant, who weren't interested and have basically left us to sort it out!

Me and my husband discovered this gem of a takeaway during lockdown and can't recommend enough!! Excellent value for money and we even had a call back before our food was delivered asking what type of king prawns we'd like (us two being foodies we're very impressed with this!) Food really good. New owners took over on 6th May . So any reviews prior to this date are not valid . Ordered a few times in the past 6 weeks and never had a bad meal . Staff always polite, and really nice and polite delivery drivers

Since new management food has gone down hill. We order tonight food was cold and items were missing when they sent the items that were missing we found a hair and phoned them up the kitchen manager was very rude. Will not be ordering again and before new management we ordered quite alot. Waste of money. Do not order from here

First time ordering here and can't see myself going elsewhere now! Collected the food and the team were lovely and they obviously take pride in the cleanliness of their shop and the small amount of kitchen I saw. Once home, we hungrily tucked into our food and OH MY DAYS. It was beautiful. Meat was tender, flavours were aromatic and balanced. I used to live in North West London with some of the best Indian restaurants and takeaways in the country and seriously up there with one of the best. Thank you!

Cracking food, really enjoyed every part of it. I would happily recommend to anyone looking for a nice curry to try here. The delivery driver Royce I think his name was went above and beyond to make sure it got here fast and kept up with the social distancing rules which is always a bonus. A***

Attempted to get a delivery through just eat and had my order cancelled by the restaurant. This was odd so called to reorder on the phone for delivery. I asked for 7.30pm which appeared to panic the guy who was worried it wouldn’t be on time exactly. I said that was fine and anytime between 7.15 and 7.45 would be fine. The food arrived at 6.55pm. The popadoms were great with the chutney. The main - chicken Karai was ok. It had good heat but lacked a little in flavour. The chicken was slightly on the dry side. The mushroom rice was perfect and the peshwari naan was also very good. So overall not a bad meal but room for improvement. I’ll definitely try it again with a different dish and hopefully it will tip the 4 star mark.

We ordered chicken tikka masala from there. It was pathetic. Just colour and lot of sugar. I realy dont know how can someone sell such tikka masala. Lamb tikka was just ok. It also had colour. Only the naan was good. I will never order from there again.

last twice i have placed an order through Just eat the takeaway has cancelled the order. Clearly not a reliable delivery service. in the past when we have managed tp get the food it has been very good.

No puedo describir lo pobre que fue esta comida. Impactante incluso hasta el Arroz. Gran calidad, granos viejos y rotos. Pollo Masala era horrible. Pollo blanco hervido en una salsa rosa. El único consejo es que no desperdicie su dinero en base a lo que se nos entregó el domingo.

Shocking. Ordered from just eat, they cancelled my order. When called to ask why said distance( hello put postcode in just eat so they choose when suits them) person on phone was rude. They should NOT BE ON JUAT EAT OR IN BUSINESS

We had our usual selection of rice, curry and sundries last Tuesday evening, and it was hot, appealing and extremely delicious.

I have never had a bad experience with these, until tonight. Ordered some food for deliver on Just Eat, the order delivered was wrong. Caught the driver to advise. They had another order in the car, appeared the receipts were put in the wrong bag. The second bag we were given was also wrong. Mised the driver so called the shop to advise what had happened and got cut off. Called them back and got told "I'll sort it, I'll sort it" but told them I wanted a refund, got cut off again. So, took the incorrect order to the shop. The driver was there also to explain what had happened and advised again that the second order was also wrong, who then got blamed! When asked why I wanted a refund outlined it was due to the aggressive nature of the way it was being handled. I was then threatened with the police! So now, have and no refund.

Comido de esta para llevar varias veces y la comida siempre ha sido fantástico. Normalmente nos decantamos por la oferta que está alrededor de £20 y te dan dos entradas, dos curris, 2 panes naan, arroz, ensalada, salsas, poppadoms y patatas Bombay. Nos alimenta fácilmente por 2 cenas! En mi experiencia puede a menudo llevar curries como barato y superficial que sabor, pero nunca pensé que este sobre Masala, que siempre sabe fresco y casero. Se lo recomendaría 100%

Had the set meal for 2 this evening. Friendly polite service on ordering, quick delivery to middle cherry, and absolutely fantastic value for money. The food is delicious, full of flavour, fresh and great portion size. Highly recommended to all who love a great authentic Indian! 5 BIG stars

Good value for money, but disappointing that they took away the discount that nhs staff receive. I was a bit annoyed that they couldn't hear me knocking and that I had to ring them to open the door

Honestly the best Indian I've had in Lincoln.. The food is so fresh and tastes absolutely phenomenal! This is going to be my go to takeaway from now on!
