Pulled in as fancied a drink, and really glad we did! View of castle spectacular and the place itself was just so lovely! Had a coffee, hot chocolate and some cake, was so relaxed and welcoming, and loved the music. Could have literally sat in there for hours just looking out the window. If you are in the area please go in!

The view of Castle Stalker from the cafe was lovely - we had really been looking forward to going to the cafe as well. The food was fine - you went up to order at the cashier and they brought your food to your table. Simple food but good. So here is where it goes downhill. I was pleased that, as I walked through their gift shop (which is great), they had a sign up saying that the restrooms were for cafe customers only. I am glad I went to the restrooms after eating. I was shocked by the condition of their bathrooms - no one had cleaned them in a very long time and out of 3 cubicles - 2 were out of use. Definitely the worst public (not really private after all) of our entire trip!

My best friend and I had lunch here before our tour of Castle Stalker. It's a lovely little cafe with a gift shop and a good size car park. You enter through the shop and head to the cafe at the back. We both bought a souvenir. You can only see the castle from a few of the tables but the room is round, so you'd still get a lovely view of the surrounding area from wherever you sat. I loved the decor - especially the Castle Stalker mural! The prices were very reasonable and they were able to cater for me with my food allergies and intolerances. We didn't have to wait long for our food. I had a plain jacket potato, which was all the more delicious because they had seasoned the skin with salt and black pepper. They had all sorts of naughty (but nice!) looking cakes and treats on display. My friend couldn't resist a slice of Rocky Road. It's true that they have stunning views here and you can also enjoy them from the car park if the cafe is closed. It's well worth a visit!

Difficult to decide what to choose from their inspiring menu. Goats cheese & Black pudding salad won the day for me, a burger for my husband and a bacon filled scone for our friend. Good portions, food beautifully presented and all of us found our meals delicious. My salad was well balanced with the rich black pudding offset with orange wedges and a sweet mustard dressing on a bed of rocket with oozy goats cheese. Good friendly atmosphere. The cafe is so well situated with views over to castle stalker and also accessible from the lower cycle & walking track near to the shore. Nice walk down to see castle Stalker afterwards.

We were so pleased to see the cafe back to its former glory. The cafe itself is well set out, with glorious views over the sea and the ruined castle beneath. The atmosphere was lovely and the service excellent. The food was great too! Finally, the gift shop part is also back in operation, selling a wide variety of gifts, clothes and books. So pleased to see it back to its old self and all credit to the new owner.

Stopped here yesterday 24th July, to get a bite to eat on our way to fort William, me and my partner both ordered the “big yin” breakfast, very average for the price of it, £26 for bacon that was like rubber, to be fair to them it was very busy. Plus side is that they are dog friendly and lovley views.

The cafe and gift shop has now reopened - the last few times we called it was still closed. Lovely lunch - very tasty jacket potato with tuna mayonnaise with cheese and hubby had a haggis and cheese panini - both with salad 🥗. Very good coffee too. And of course the amazing view of the scenery all round Inc Castle Stalker itself.

There were few redeeming elements to our visit. We did get a warm smile from the staff member behind the counter when we arrived. The promised views were obscured from the cafe by bushes, but were lovely from the car park. The coffee was unremakable, but not offensive. Our meal was the worst lunch I have had in a long time. We both had ciabatta with haggis and chedder. The cheese was barely melted, the haggis was warm on the outside, but only luke warm in the centre. The vegetable crips were stale. The salad was unimaginative, but not unpleasant. Needless to say we did not finish lunch. This cafe obviously relies on passing trade rather than people revisiting. I am saddened that tourists might consider this to be the standard of food served throughout Scotland. We will certainly not return.

Great access, plenty of parking, good signage, retail opportunities, enjoyable coffees and cakes, what’s not to like? A modern architectural single-story building overlooking the picturesque Castle Stalker, proudly astride its own little private isle in the majestic setting of Loch Linnhe with the peaks of Morven and Mull beyond. Great selection of greetings cards, books and Scottish ‘crafts’. We enjoyed an excellent homemade treacle tart with cream. The only downside, if you are unable to get a table outside, there is little view of the Castle itself from inside the cafe but on a dreich day a quick photo from the car park sufficed. So good to find somewhere open in late November.

I visit Appin often for the GLORIOUS Lochlaich garden centre, who farms out some plants to the cafe too!, But today I went specifically to the gift shop on a special t-shirt hunt for an American friend whose trip has been postponed by the dreaded covid restrictions. I bought one there last month when I was on holiday returning from Inverary. I found a large selection of varieties sizes and colors, but was also pleasantly suprised at a lot of the higher end "twist" on Scottish souvenieers, many handmade items, loads of local artists prints and handmade clothing, with the usual gamut of clan "accessories". But what made my visit today extra special was the nice and helpful lady at the counter... she was more than helpful finding me a t-shirt for my friend, and was happy to share her travel experiences with me... I should have asked her name because she was LOVELY!

Were on holiday in Oban and decided to have a trip up to the cafe to view Castle Stalker and have a light lunch. Nice gift shop as well as nice food at reasonable prices. Social distancing was observed with staff wreaking face masks and hand sanitisers available so they seemed to operating within the rules. Certainly worth a visit to enjoy the view and Good to see there was an information panel about the castle. The only downside was that I was expecting to able to walk down the slope towards the path on the shore to get nearer the castle and was disappointed that it seemed to be overgrown and steep and was not really sure if there was actually a path or not past the viewpoint.

Lovely place to have lunch with a view to die for. Big sign outside saying no coach trips, which made me smile. Food was lovely but table was annoying rocky (they all seemed to suffer the same fate). Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Excellente surprise.

The cafe is cozy with a view to the loch. It provided a selection of pies, scones and all day breakfast. Staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing, peaceful and pleasant. There is also a nice shop with all sorts of handiwork at the entrance. Nice local cafe. Great value.

Nous nous attendions au pire dans l’assiette mais c’était correct. Personnel très accueillant. On commande au comptoir. La vue depuis la salle est un résumé de l’Ecosse.

Always a fabulous stop, but today an amazing Christmas Menu👍 Everything we tried, mains and desserts was fabulous - even got mulled wine and crackers - nice touch 😂

Amazing food and atmosphere. The manager, Edwin came to our table to check on everything. and was so nice and genuine. Brandon, our waiter was attentive and very personable. The food exceeded our expectations! We only had about a 15 minute wait and trust me ...it's worth any wait that you have!

Popped in for a bite to eat. Spotted the langoustines on the menu and had to have them. The food was excellent and the staff were very attentive.
