I called ahead (same day) to book a gluten free afternoon tea for 2 yesterday. The lady on the phone said they are able to do it and no need to book. I still informed them of our ETA though. Upon ordering, I was told that we needed to give at least 24 hour notice for gluten free afternoon tea. That's it. No alternative options offered.

Great Food in a rather dated and large room inside the Hotel, the room was clean, however bland and quite devoid of decoration. I guess during the day or season is the view towards the sea. The Food however was really good, we had Garlic Bread to share for Starter. I had a Ribeye Steak that was really perfect as did someone else with us, a Lamb Shank was looking perfect on our Table as was my Wifes Fish Dish that she also thoroughly enjoyed. The waiters and waitresses were very keen however slightly clueless a times, a good example is being asked if I would like to be offered a steak knife to go with my steak, I was struggling for an obvious answer!

enjoyed a meal celebrating our anniversary at the Falmouth Hotel as it's where we were married 13 years ago. As on holiday we had two young children with us and the hotel were very good in emailing us a kids menu in advance although unfortunately this changed when we sat down in the space of 2 weeks. None the less the children found food they could eat and we all had a very nice meal. the hotel kindly gave us a choccie cake to celebrate the occasion although this came after we had eaten desserts and requested the bill so although a nice gesture it was slightly too late in the day Also the service was very slow, especially in requesting the bill as I had to stand up and look over at three waitresses all who seemed more interested in chatting than serving however the service overall was ok. we love the hotel and has many memories so sure we will be back

We were staying in a holiday rental in the grounds of the hotel and dined here on our last evening. The food was excellent and the service could not be faulted. We had a lovely table looking out onto the lawn and sea beyond. We have fish whenever we eat out in the UK as we live in Colorado, a landlocked state over a thousand miles from the nearest sea! The fish was cooked to perfection and all 3 courses and the wine were very good.

Staying in Falmouth and looking for some fine dining, we decided to give this AA Rosette restaurant, at the Falmouth Hotel, a visit. Although you can find a sample menu online the actual menu changes daily has a really good selection. The meals were nicely presented and very well cooked. Service could have been stronger - we had to pour our own wine - but it was friendly and efficient. The dining room is large and a little impersonal, but a great view from the windows. Overall a very pleasant experience and well worth a second visit.

Go to the local grocery store and I'm sure you'll see today's buffet at this hotel. The views are great, but the food tastes, looks and feels as if pulled directly off a cold buffet line somewhere yesterday. Sad choices and even sadder food sold as elegant. Stick to downtown with views of the harbour as great places there, but this was the biggest disappointment of all meals we had in Cornwall.

I went in a large party to the Falmouth Hotel on 16 December and had the Christmas Festive Lunch. We had drinks in the lounge which had spectacular views of the sea (OK, it wasn't a sunny day!) then went through to a dining room which was laid out just for our party. The food was excellent, as was the service. I chose salmon and prawn tian, hake (which was a really good sized portion) and then chocolate marquise. Three division vegetable dishes were served with the main course and jugs of iced water were on all the tables. The wine waiters were very attentive during the meal. This was followed by coffee and warm mince pies. The seasonal decorations throughout were beautifully done. It was a wonderful meal and I cannot recommend the food highly enough.

We were a family of six my wife's mum & dad our daughter & partner & my wife & I, we arrived at 12.30pm for lunch at 1pm, there were plenty of car parking spaces on arrival. The Christmas decorations were up and the lounge was warm and comfy we settled down and ordered drinks, we were served by a very pleasant young lady. The lounge is huge with plenty of comfortable settees and arm chairs throughout. We went into the dining room at about 1 pm and were shown to our table the staff are very friendly and welcoming, we all chose our starters which everyone said were delightful, five f us chose the roast beef one pork the lunch came with roast potatoes meat Yorkshire pudding carrots, cauliflower, French beans, courgettes and gravy plus an extra gravy boat the meat and vegetables were cooked to perfection. In fact we had so much veg we could not do it justice, we were all so full we had no room for a desert. There was a piano being played very quietly in the background which was very pleasant. If there was one small complaint it was the room was a little cool but it is a very large area to heat. We will certainly be returning for another great meal soon.

We were making a return visit to this restaurant after a gap of two years, having moved out of the area. We were not disappointed. Despite the restaurant being pretty busy with residents and party bookings we were treated to a lovely leisurely meal with attentive staff, who had time to chat although they were busy, and nicely presented food, which was beautifully cooked. The pianist who played throughout was the finishing touch. Probably not your young people's trendy venue, but suited a couple of pensioners fine. We will return when we stay in Falmouth again.

Are you in Falmouth at lunch time on a Wednesday. Feeling peckish? Well at the moment the Falmouth Hotel has a Wednesday Lunch Club. You can have a main course for £8 then add a starter for £2 and a desert for another £2. So a very nice three course lunch for £12. Also you get a wonderful view over Falmouth Harbour through the tall panoramic windows.I have been twice in the last month once on my own and then as a family group and both times the service has been very friendly and attentive and the food very good for the price. The first time my main course was a whole Sole which almost filled the plate and the next was a very tasty portion of Ling. Starters and deserts were all very palatable and beautifully presented. Also I like Cider and a pint of Thatcher's Gold was a reasonable £3.65, especially in a hotel on the seafront. The only negative was the coffee. I was warned that the coffee machine was playing up and by golly was it! There was more coffee grounds in the cup than water and milk. It was like drinking a crumbled coffee biscuit. So I would recommend the lunch for a reasonably priced set meal with a nice view. (I cannot comment on the rest of the week, for breakfast or dinner)

Service is literally perfect, every small attention to detail and the staff are all very polite. Have tried a few of the dishes and the quality is exceptional throughout. Cost is also very well balanced and I would personally say that the food is low in cost for the quality you will receive, really worth the visit to try out this restaurant, a shame it never seemed to busy any time I went down.

On arrival a kind lady showed me to my table right at the back of the hotel that's where the niceness ended. It was a Christmas meal with about 20 of us squashed into the conservatory it was very busy over 200 eating apparently. Prawn cocktail arrived with no sauce or no bread, Turkey was Luke warm with not a green vegetable in sight and the Xmas pudding had no taste. All in all very disappointing. After noting our complaints the manager "Jane" offered us £10 off a return meal next Christmas but unfortunately the damage had already been done and we won't be returning in a hurry.

Attended a christmas party night on a Saturday evening, the food was lovely, but the service was very slow indeed. Called in to sit down at 7.45, when we were told 7.30 sit down, starters came out quite quick, then it went down hill, still waiting for dessert at 9.45, and the disco had already started and we were still eating. Which i thought was abit off. Apart from that i would recommend the entertainment, Shamless were very good. I would go to a party night there again, but i wish the management would employ some more staff in the restaurant, especially when catering for a large number of people.

Had a Christmas lunch there last week. I can't say it was fantastic, it wasn't. They were catering for far too many people, it was extremely noisy as many of them were elderly and probably deaf! The starters - easy to prepare - were good. The vegetables for the main course were the cheapest you could buy - carrots, swede and red cabbage. No greens. The service was excellent once you got your table. That's "if" you got your table. Some people couldn't even find their table and staff didn't help. The mousse was lovely, I'm glad I didn't choose Christmas pudding which looked terrible, was dry looking and like a slice of bread in shape. Obviously all produced with the cheapest ingredients.

The Falmouth Hotel has a brilliant position with panoramic views of the sea to be enjoyed both in good and bad weather. The bar area where I ate on one occasion has a very relaxed atmosphere especially when not many people are there, the service has an old fashioned courteous feel to it. It is a nice place to have a drink and in good weather you can sit outside enjoying the sun. The seafood platter that I had was good though it did not have much bread with it, and hardly any salad. I really enjoy going to this place and the prices are reasonable.
