Casbah Grill in North Hertfordshire

We came here for a meal on a Saturday evening. The food was delicious- we had lamb kofta and rice with the homemade chilli sauce (extremely tasty) and garlic mayo. However, the restaurant felt like it lacked an atmosphere- we were the only people inside (the tables outside were occupied), and we felt like it could do with feeling more like a restaurant than a cafe inside. One of the waitresses in particular was very friendly and overall we had a nice meal and it was extremely good value!!

I booked a meal for my mum's birthday for Monday 5th July at 7pm and when we turned up, they were closed. I had no communication from them to advise that they weren't going to be open. Very disappointed as we were keen to try this restaurant. It was extremely infuriating, especially as we then had to try to find somewhere else to eat for my mum's birthday!!

We ate here yesterday 15th June at lunchtime. We had a table for two outside, sitting in the lovely sunshine. We ordered a Chicken Meshwi Wrap and a Lamb Kofta Wrap with chips. The food was all cooked fresh and was delicious and very good value. Our waitress was very friendly and informative regarding the menu. We will be back soon to try more delicious food as the Meze looked really good too.

Since discovering this place not long after it opened we have returned many times for sit down meals and large takeaway meals for family get togethers. We have recommended Casbah to friends and family and everybody has always enjoyed it as much as us. The meals are more than adequate and great value for money. We have always found the customer service friendly and welcoming and would definitely recommend.

We have ordered a few times as we enjoy the food even though the delivery is always late we have put up with it until this evening. The food was delivered 45 minutes late and when it arrived half the order was missing, called up and was told the driver left it behind and will be sent to us when he returns. Some 40 minutes later and another phone call the food arrived. customer service really poor, will not order again as far too many good places to eat in Hitchin. Disappointed to say the least.

Ordered £20 worth of food for 2 people. When food arrived pitta bread was missing. I called up and asked if they could deliver it, they insisted it was in the bag (tried to guess which order was ours and got it wrong twice, so clearly making it up), and said it ‘must have been misplaced’. They said we could come and get it if we wanted. They said they definitely put it in the bag, which to me is them suggesting we were lying. I explained that I am hardly going to let my food get cold while I call them and lie about a £1 piece of pitta. Absolutely shocking customer service. The rest of the food, costing £19 excluding the pitta bread, wasn’t enough and we were still hungry after eating every last scrap! We don’t even have big appetites. Not what you want from a takeaway. We’ve ordered from here before and been pleased but it’s safe to say we will not be ordering again.

We had been for dinner here before just after they opened and were impressed by the service and quality of food. Our second visit was for lunch on a Saturday, despite being busy the service was quick and friendly. The food was as lovely as before. The menu is very big and varied and I want to return to try other dishes.

Had a takeaway from here last night. One of the best takeaway meals I’ve ever had. Everything in the Mixed Grill was amazing. Mushroom and Falafel burger rated highly too! Will be using them again and will certainly be booking for a dine-in/out meal in the next week or so.

We ordered a takeaway from here on a Saturday night; there was great service ordering over the phone, with easy contactless pick-up. The food was INCREDIBLE! I couldn't recommend it more! We had chicken meshwi with rice, chicken shawarma and the mixed grill. We also got olives, aubergine dip, tzaziki and hummus with pitta. It all tasted so fresh and every part of the meal was delicious and really different from a usual takeaway! It's brilliant value and we look forward to ordering again! ⭐️

Best food I’ve had in a long time ! I’ve had a few things on the menu now and every time I’m blown away with how fresh and delicious it is (my partner agrees) restaurant quality at home and can’t fault anything. Delivery is quick, price is spot on and food is amazing. Recommended to all my friends and family and will be back again. Thank you Casbah !

We ordered 3 meals for collection. One was GLUTEN FREE Peri Peri style chicken with Rice, 2nd was Chicken Meshwi with rice and the last meal was a Beef Burger with Chips. Everybody enjoyed their food, especially my wife who is GLUTEN FREE, and myself, I really enjoyed the Chicken Meshwi, I will be back again!!

Had a delivery via Just Eat so cannot comment on service or decor but it is in a good location. Ordered the Meatballs, Wings and Mixed Grill. Positives - The Meatballs were lovely, with a sauce full of flavour - The Wings were also decent - the food was reasonably priced overall as well Negatives - The Mixed Grill was surprisingly bland. There was no seasoning or marinade on the lamb cubes or chicken which is odd given that Mediterranean food normally has a flavoursome marinade - The Packaging was all polystyrene (think old school kebab shop containers) which can’t be recycled. In this day and age, you’d expect recyclable cardboard or re-usable plastic containers so that was disappointing. But it is a new restaurant so I’m hoping that as a local business, it will improve and succeed as it has great potential!

Absolutely amazing! We had a delivery from here last night and it was by far the best takeaway I have ever had. The rice and lamb were beautiful and very reasonably priced. Will definitely order again!

Just had lunch here and it is so delicious and reasonably priced. I had the chicken grill and my other half had the lamb burger. Couldn’t fault them, will 10000% be back to try some of the other dishes. What a gem!

Lovely location, delicious food and brilliant service! We just popped in for a coffee and some meze dishes but had a wonderful time! All the food was presented beautifully and was full of flavour! We can't wait to go back!
