I won’t lie to you, an Indian is not my first choice for a takeaway…. However… over the years of trying every Indian takeaway/dine in within a 5 mile radius, I can safely say Baldock Spice is hands down our go-to and should be yours! Their generous discount when collecting is an added bonus also 🙌🏻 Really friendly staff, food ready to collect on time, always arrives piping hot when delivered! Tonight we were given a “freebie” of their new Biscoff Fridge cake, which I had no idea what it was… but let me tell you now… this was hands down the best dessert I have had in a LONG TIME!!! Many may think this review was scripted, but I’m happy to say that I’m just a guy who is very critical about their food 😏

We got a takeaway delivered. Everything was above par, hot and they don't skimp on the spice which is unusual for local Indian restaurants and greatly appreciated! Certainly our go to now for a takeaway, very impressed 👍

The chicken in both dishes was over cooked we all just had the gravy. One of the garlic nans were overcooked as it was very hard when i went to rip some off it broke off. Really not happy i have ordered 3 different times and its the same.

We love Baldock Spice and think it's the best takeaway in the area. The food is delicious, and we particularly appreciate that most of the curries can be made vegetarian with paneer. The delivery staff, like Richard, are always friendly and helpful.

After my order was sent to wrong address (my fault entirely) the deliverer brought it to us very quickly and with a smile! Food was still hot and tasty as usual

First time using Baldock Spice, I had the Tiger Prawn Devdas for starters which was amazing, really good flavour. We qualified for a free starter also which was a Tandori Chicken, disappointingly this was extremely dry and over cooked. This was the theme with the mains also, though the flavours were really good, all the meat was over cooked and a little chewy, each dish was only just about warm also. Our popadoms looked like the remains of Alderaan as if they’d been sat on. Would try again tho.

Got a takeaway from Baldock Spice for the first time. Delivery time was within the expect slot. I had the Tiger Prawn Devdas for a starter which I thought was really good and will definitely order again. We qualified for a free starter which was a chicken tikka dish, unfortunately this was really dry and overcooked. This was the theme with the mains as all the meat was over cooked and a little chewy, however the flavours were really good but it all could have done with being a bit warmer. We got given a pot of a red sauce which was amazing. Sadly our popadoms looked like they had been sat on and were in more pieces than Alderaan after the Death Star destroyed it. We would order again though and would be interested to see if a weeknight instead of a busy Friday makes a difference.

We ordered through deliveroo which was a huge mistake, the food took 2 hours to arrive and was lukewarm by the time it got to us. I’m sure the food would have been fine had we gone to the restaurant, but they shouldn’t be doing deliveries they can’t fulfill.

Baldock Spice is hands down the best takeaway in the area. The food is delicious with high quality meat and ingredients. We also love that most of the curries can be made vegetarian with paneer. We order from them far too much as it’s just so good. We’ve tried other restaurants nearby when Baldock Spice is closed and they are not even close.

I use Baldock Spice for take away deliveries. Alway good food and reasonable cost too.

Absolutely FANTASTIC food! Highly recommend the paneer railway achari pickle and the prawn devdas starter! Massively flavourful dishes that are Clearly cooked with care and passion that everywhere else seems to have forgotten 10/10.

Food all cold, took over an hour to arrive and the driver who delivered it was incredibly rude to us. Staff on the phone also rude and hung up on us when we asked for updates on where order was. So disappointed as we’ve ordered from here so many times before, but won’t be ordering again.

From baldock to Stevenage so quick

The food was a bit late but it was great quality and we got a free tandori chicken starter which definitely made up for it 😊

Thought we'd try out a new takeaway. A shame we had to reheat the food when it finally arrived over an hour late. Followed the 'help me' link through just eat and not happy with a £3 discount from the restaurant on our next order as compensation! Once the food was reheated it was a lovely meal, just a shame about the service. plus the 5 poppadoms @ 85p each were soggy so went in the bin.

Unfortunately the quality of the chicken has declined over the past year or so. The sides however were really good.

Everything is always fresh, our requests are always listened to, and the options are fantastic. We recommend the Darjeeling Mandarin (made with fresh orange juice). We haven’t tried the Saagwaala yet but we’ve heard it’s another special they have. Other things we’ve tried have been the chicken shashlik, quorn dhansak, kormas, masalas and pasanda. They were all great across the board. The naan and roti are great, always super fresh. Many vegetarian and vegan options are available, with great healthy oil choices (e.g., ghee, coconut oil) when we’re so used to places not disclosing which oils they use. I really appreciate this and it gives me peace of mind. There are always fresh salad options and onion salad options. We order Baldock Spice often. It’s not local to us but we either drive and take advantage of the discount, or get it delivered. When we ring, it’s always been ready to collect quickly. When we get takeaway, their website is good at giving you their estimated delivery time.

Absolutely shocking as they know it’s NYE so should’ve planned 17:34 ordered turned up after 3 calls to restaurant at 20:16 and only £7.00 off my bill. I’ve used these many times in the past and probably won’t in the future.

Ordered at 5:45 and it’s 8:30 now and still not here … delivery estimate was 7. Gave benefit of doubt because of new years but nearly 3 hours is a long time!

This restaurant is very hit and miss. Food is great sometimes and very average other times. It's delivered late, more often than not. I think this is the last time we order from Baldock Spice!

As one of our regular takeaway providers parbez and his team went above and beyond to make sure our latest takeaway experience was even better than normal. After an unfortunate late delivery we received a text from the owner personally to apologise and to offer us a part refund on our next order. This has never happened with other takeaways so top marks for them i highly recommend

Great food, my favourite for Indian. Food is excellent and the service is too. My last order was missing an item but I found that a suitable replacement was added which I enjoyed immensely. Fully recomend them for spicy tasty food. Treat yourself!

Ordered a takeaway & was told less than 55 minutes. Phoned to chase where my order was after waiting 1 1/2 hours. Left on hold for a while and then told it will be 15mins, got the impression it had been forgotten about. Food arrived and tasted nice but was lukewarm at best and poppadoms stale and soggy.

Although slightly late, the food was delicious. Fresh naga chilli was certainly a spicy option! Wow, even for my standards. Would order again.
