Das Essen war sehr lecker, die Portionen gross genug. Der Kellner war sehr nett, man merkte dass hier Jeder seine Arbeit leidenschaftlich macht. Die Preise für Essen, Nachtisch und Getränke sind annehmbar. Ein tolles Team. Immer wieder gerne.

My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience, the food is amazing! The staff were so welcoming and lovely. Highly recommend Bosphorus and will certainly come back.

Small portions for the amount they charge , I haven't seen anywhere Adana kofte one skew! And they dint mention that in the menus, very deceptive . Service slow and awful. Staff need to smile a bit to make you feel welcome . Rubbish place and expensive . Never again

Portions are very small for the price they charge . Not good . Service is appalling and very slow , the lady who served us could have smiled and made us welcome but she hasn't ! I noticed the waiter was chewing good while serving us , very unprofessional. Place is cold and bathroom is dirty. Would not come again . Awful place

The food here was lovely ,the waitress was very pleasant. I think it was the owner or she was in charge was very annoying. She spent over an hour .....we timed her .....Sat at the bar talking very loud on speaker phone in a language we didn't recognise. There was only one other couple in the restaurant so we were all speaking quietly to each other. I thought she was extremely rude and said so to the very pleasant waitress who shrugged her shoulders and tried to apologise. Like I say the food was lovely but the woman at the bar was not to put it politely.

Friend took me for a birthday lunch, food was fantastic! Had a 15 minute wait for main meal which was ideal after having a starter. Will be back in the near future!

Everytime we go there is never anyone else in there hence the 3☆ for atmosphere. Great food though

Visited 06/01/2024. Have been previously but did not expect such a significant improvement. Food and service was exceptional. Restaurant was bit quiet which was a shame. Could not fault the whole experience. 5 star

Great food and great service. As for Atmosphere, it was the middle of the week so place almost empty.

Food was delicious, we had a small for us issue as one of the dishes came with Walnuts in it, but these were not listed as an ingredient on the menu, it said almonds, could have been serious if an allergy existed. Also We had to pay a £5 per head deposit on booking, this was not automatically removed from the bill

First time coming here with my partner for my birthday meal, and we were not disappointed. Food was amazing, doesn't matter it takes a bit to bring the main, as you have their amazing bread with saucesand olives, and if you order a starter which we did you will enjoy, the quality and the fact that they take the time to cook it to perfection it matters. We have had the lamb hummus and feta and spinach rolls as starters, and as a main we went for the bosphorus hot platter which serves 2-3people.we couldn't eat everything and we had to take it at home, lucky us to have lunches for next day. Honestly the meat was tasty and tender and the spices were just perfect, kids can eat too. We will definitely come back.thank you

Truly the most awful customer experience I have ever experienced - order arrived 50 minutes late, was told driver was outside but took him 15 minutes to find the house. I called 4 times to see what was going on only to be told it was minutes away. Finally arrived and order was cold as expected. Tried to microwave / airfryer food but was horrendous by then. Called for a refund only to be told I must be lying, apparently it’s impossible for the food to go cold in the containers it arrived in and I was being unfair asking for a refund. In addition, I was told the delivery guy had a crash on the way home from my delivery and apparently that was my fault too because I shouldn’t have been ordering from so far away ( the website let me do this and was within the postcode areas) I was told I had to bring my bin to the restaurant so they could check I wasn’t lying. By this point I was so horrified that I did what he asked and brought my food bin through his busy restaurant and was humiliated that he emptied it out infront of everyone only to laugh that he couldn’t see any meat amongst my rubbish so again I was lying. Now in tears from how this man was treating me, a young guy apologised for him and said he shouldn’t have treated me this way and kindly gave me my refund at last. I used to love Bosphorus but wow this was truly the most shocking customer experience I have ever experienced. He will no doubt say I’m lying again but I recorded the whole thing and will be putting it on social media

After departing from a chain restaurant due to lack of attention we went into Bosphorus to be warmly greeted. Lovely relaxing restaurant, amazing food so beautifully displayed and excellent service.

Got the platter for 2, ample food but ribs were so chewy we couldn't eat them and chicken wings were tiny. Asked for some chili sauce (comes in the smallest dipping bowl you can find) on side and they charged for it which just put me off. It's not the money, when you look after your customers, they come back but unfortunately we won't be.

Just returned home after another fabulous meal with friends at Bosphorus, Hitchin. The staff are super-friendly (lovely young woman whose name began with an S was very patient with us) and the food was exquisite.

I live not too far from Hitchin and this was probably my fifth time dining in Bosphorous. I took my father and his wife who were visiting me from Bradford. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough; a hidden gem in North Hertfordshire. The atmosphere is lovely; nice decor with beautiful traditional touches with the lighting, spacious, clean, relaxed, Service is really good; staff friendly and the girl who served me this time also served myself and a friend in February and did not finish her shift until we were ready to leave that time. Food is superb; huge choice, nice complimentary flat bread, dips and olives to start and Turkish Delights to finish meal. Portions are HUGE; no 'Nuveau Cuisine' HERE, more like home cooking. Really good to have the opportunity to try Turkish wine, which is VERY nice. Bosphorous needs to be more busy than it IS (Although I have mostly dined at lunch time or bank holidays, perhaps it is busier on weekend evenings).

Same as the previous reviewer, food is nice but not as good as it used to be - but don’t order a takeaway because it doesn’t all show up and the portion sizes are tiny. This is the 3rd time we have ordered a takeaway and a quarter of the food is missing so as usual, having to wait another 30 minutes on top the hour we have already waited. Last time im ordering from here now

Takeaway that arrived was terrible. I ordered a hallumi salad for £9.50, it was three pieces of small cheese on top of a few wet salad leaves. The £17 chicken grill dish had two pieces of chicken. The mixed grill was ok. About 10 chips a portion. We paid £60 for this. I called to discuss and they were really really rude, would not give me a refund. I love supporting local businesses but this one is off my list!

A very pleasant environment with excellent food, great service and a good wine list

The first time back in years due to covid, wow we had forgotten how amazing the food is, red lentil soup was fantastic, followed by Chicken Stew, and Chicken Shish, you will not be disappointed, great service too!

We visited Bosphorus February 2023 for a birthday, 6 adults. Booking before was simple. As always the food was fantastic, the bread to start is always warm and fresh. Food is so amazingly tasty - each bite was an explosion of aromas - heavanly. I got the Kapadokia.didn t order a starter but they provided pita and sauses - AMAZINGLY tasty. The staff is very prompt and friendly. Outstanding - would recomend for anyone that wants to realy enjoy tasty quisine, beatiful interior design and overal a relaxing and refreshing time.

Ordered chicken princess which had more salt than the dead sea!! Lamp shish...terrible lamb..not nearly as good as the ibos restaurant., very bland .i went to the toilet and while my wife was eating my plate was taken away!!when i asked where my plate was i was apologised to and offered some rice and salad!..not very good..had a better taste of the Mediterranean in china!!..never to return here..

Went there with my Husband for lunch only one other couple in at the time our drinks came along with a broken glass the starters no problem As our main course came we over heard the other couple saying that there chicken was not cooked and was red Our mains came and our chicken was also not cooked thoroughly along with my husbands lamb kebab Obviously the person cooking struggles to cook meat correctly and all you get is oh really sorry about that Wont be back

Really nice restaurant, cosy/classy to be true. Great food but the lamb ribs were a little underdone. Large portions, friendly and accommodating staff, I will be back for more.

One of the best meals I've ever had ANY WHERE... even in Turkey and Greece. Every bite was amazing- the sides are normally just a side to complete a meal but even on there own AMAZING FLAVOURS ..and the dips and bread were so fantastic, I was blown away... Very attentive service and spotlesly clean.. Can't wait to go back and try another dish, the portions are very satisfying so make sure you're super hungry. Our lovely young lady even gave me a little pot of dip to bring home.. 😍

This place was absolutely trash the meat was half raw and had to pay extra only cos I said if they could swap the rice for chips and i got only chips and chicken and meat no borghal nor rice while i clearly asked for no rice not no borghal and no rice and had to pay an extra £3.90 for chips

Clean, fresh and large servings. It has all the flavors of Turkish cuisine and more. I would definitely recommend.

Poor service, lamb chops full of fat, asked if we wanted glasses for our glass bottled drinks?! Of course?? Mains come with rice, bulgur but salad only includes carrots and red cabbage, not sure if they’ve done their studying on Turkish cuisine, but traditional salad should be pomegranate, tomato and cucumber - obviously trying to save money here as well. Would recommend going Ibos just round the corner, same price far better.

Really gone down hill. They give you about 4 strips of bread in the starter basket (enough for a child). Had to keep paying for extra, had some lady throwing cutlery into a box whilst we’re eating, which should have been done before opening. Staff have no clue what you’re saying and very slow service, seems like everything you ask is just a chore for them

My daughter went for a meal and was very intimated by the waiter and was made to feel very uncomfortable.It made her visit very unenjoyable,The food was ok but the experience would have been better,but for the rudeness of the waiter.I would suggest maybe you train you're waiters better

First time we went to Hitchin and came across this very interesting restaurant. If you want to try Turkish cuisine, this is the right place. Very nice and quiet place and great food. Before we ordered, they brought us some sauces, bread and olives, much appreciated. Then as main courses I had lamb ribs and my boyfriend a sirloin, both with various side dishes. Very substantial dishes but we also wanted to try the desserts which were very good. I had a chocolate fudge cake and my boyfriend the turkish dessert, baklava. We will come back for sure!

Visited for 1st time Tuesday,very disappointed. Initial bread strips that came out really nice,but main meal awful had calamari huge plate full of chips, salad and 8 calamari out of frozen packet. Seem to go for quantity not quality. There were only two others in restaurant but waitress,seemed to be rushing us from one course to next,then when we were going to order coffee took so long we just asked for bill A manager was there if I saw plates coming back full of food I would want to know why,demotivating for chef and wasteful.I won't be back and would not recommend,you have work to do to improve if you want to be a successful restaurant.

We came here on Sunday afternoon after visiting the amazing Hitchin Lavender. We were greeted by a waiter who was unfriendly and rude. This set the tone for the rest of our stay. Our starters arrived within 20 minutes and it looked promising. But we waited 1hr and 15min for our mains. People who came in after us had their food served before us. The grilled meats were dry, tough and chewy making it hard to cut. It clearly was not fresh. We were so disappointed as it was a birthday treat for my daughter. This was quite an unpleasant experience.

Lovely surroundings. Had the lunchtime menu for 3 people. Starters were ok. Main meals were luke warm, chicken wings were pink in the middle. Waitress didn't charge for the wings which was good, unfortunately we will not visit again.

Worst restaurant service I have ever experienced and I have been to restaurants in over 50 countries. Order was over an hour late and in the end I had to collect it. They did not even bother to call me, I had to ring them several times. Paid both service and delivery fees and neither received a delivery nor any kind of service. Spoiled our Father's Day meal and they didn't even care. Deliveroo told me to contact them for compensation but they are blaming it on a 'system malfunction'. Do not eat from here, there are hundreds of other places to get food locally and ones that actually provide the service too. I would have given 0 stars if Google allowed me to

Unfortunately can only give 1 star ,chicken shish was raw ,lamb fillet which cost £19 was a cheap price of lamb with no flavour could hardly cut it ..hummus had no flavour at all ...the only thing that was o k was the bread ,will definitely not be returning .

I had lunch & dinner many times in Bosphoros I can honestly say all which We have Chosen fish has been well presented( salmon seafood tuna steak ) well cooked delicious .the lamb shop and mix kebabs wasn’t cooked was disappointed even with new rice they cook While people can be allergic to corn. The food allergy can cause symptoms like itching, a stuffy nose, and wheezing. Some people with a corn allergy have a serious reaction .one of your chef got tattoos wasn’t wearing hat unprofessional .that was Tuesday

Will not be going back here I was harassed by a worker whilst waiting for my takeaway and made to feel incredibly uncomfortable and my chips were stone cold which I then couldn’t eat as they weren’t even cooked properly and they had forgotten 2...

Came here late on Saturday night. We were welcomed in by friendly waitress. Food was brilliant especially the halloumi starter and lamb kebab main. Washed down with tasty Turkish beer. Service was fast amd the bread/dips we were giving were so good.

Myself and a colleague ate here for our evening meal whilst working away in Hitchin. We had passed the place the night before and what made me notice it was the smell coming out of the door! It was amazing! We had decided elsewhere for the night before so decided to go to Bosphorus the 2nd night. The drinks we thought were expensive in general. Not just alcohol. We both got tap water. We decided on a £50 sharing platter. We were not disappointed. I couldn't manage a desert, and I ALWAYS have desert. That's how much food you get! It was all delicious. I love Turkish food and this was just amazing. The service was good though it took a little time to get the bill even though it wasn't busy. Would definitely return.

Have dined here on numerous occasions and ordered something different every time. I can honestly say all which I have chosen, from fish to meat has been well presented, flavoursome, well cooked simply delicious. I could dine here every night of the week and not...

WAS PHYSICALLY ATTACKED BY STAFF!!! My wife and myself were threatened and pushed by members of staff after questioning why we were charged for extra sauce which we have never been charged for before! RUDE AND AGGRESSIVE PEOPLE! DO NOT EAT HERE! All of this in front of my 2 children as well! You are lucky my children were with me at the time! How can a man push a woman?!!! Absolute joke of a business! Food was undercooked and bread was rock hard! Plates, glasses and table were dirty as well! Would not recommend going with your family!!!

Food served undercooked, this is my first ever bad experience in a Turkish Restaurant. To be honest if you're not far from Stevenage try Misiya Meze Grill and you won't ever look for a different one If you think about Turkish !!

Fantastic food and plenty of it..

Poor service and poor quality of food. Would not recommend. We asked if restaurant has alcohol free wine but instead alcohol free beer was brought. Ordered 2 portions of borek with fetta cheese and spinach, the food didn't look right after we tasted we realised that the fetta cheese was gone off. Very worrying as my sister is pregnant. No apologies. Also when I was leaving with a pram, I was struggling to fit through the door, members of staff saw but didn't offer any help.

The food is decent at this place, but I've had late orders multiple times with no apology. After this latest time, I will never order from them again. Orderd food at 4pm to be delivered around 5, early enough that my young kids can eat too. Didn't get the food until ten to eight because the first delivery went to the wrong place and was taken in by an old lady who I think was very confused, but happens to also live at number 3 just round the corner from me. Stuff like this happens, I get it. Sometimes my amazon parcels go there too. What was unacceptable was the extreme reluctance of the restaurant management to entertain the idea that they had made a mistake. They made me feel like a liar who was trying to pull a fast one. Even the driver came on the phone and told me he'd delivered it (yes, but to the wrong place!) and "that's where the satnav took him so it must be right!". After spending 15 minutes on the phone getting increasingly annoyed and frustrated at the refusal to believe me, their difficulties with listening and the constant talking over the top of my attempts to explain, they eventually (with great reluctance) said they'd do another order. When the driver arrived for the second time, he rang me as instructed. The dawning realisation on his face as I approached from the opposite direction he was expecting was some consolation.

Visited this restaurant on Tuesday and Friday with friend .we had starter prawns tava delicious . Our main course osmali & chicken lamb casserole very testy delicious too the best in hitchin can’t wait to go back again with family this time 4⭐️

We visited on a Saturday night and glad we booked as it was very busy. The food was good and the portions are large, definitely an upmarket Turkish restaurant. The service was poor, mixed up orders,confusion with other tables and a long wait between courses. The waiting staff were polite and nice but the wait and the repetition to keep asking for simple things like table water was not acceptable. Maybe it was just an off night but it did not feel me full of confidence for a return, visit. Glad we went and if you like Turkish food you are in for a treat but for us not the experience it should have been.

Very bad food and service! We had 2 CHICKEN SHISH WRAPs for lunch at this place - red sauce was spoiled and as well as salad inside the wraps. When I asked a waiter to change the sauce she started arguing. We couldn't eat it, paid and left. No apologies, no discounts. Would never return to this place again!

Ordered the warm mezzo to be followed by the mixed fish platter. They initially brought the starter and main course together which didn't make any sense. When they brought out the fish platter the second time parts were missing, some of the fish was extremely salty and overcooked. The starter warm mezze was fine and had some quite tasty things on it, although the falafel was a bit dry.

Whenever I visit Hitchin I always look forward to eating at this Restaurant. The food is incredible! Huge portions but so delicious! They have a fantastic menu with so much variety and the food is packed with flavour.
